Good service fish and chips egerlent

Been there from time to time over the last few years and it seems to me that it doesn't really change...... Always good fish and chips. Plus, you can grab a table on Fair Green to eat - and a pint from the pub to wash them down, and what could be better than that !

The prices are all wrong. Some items are what you'd expect to pay, but for smaller things (sides like chicken strips, onion rings etc.) are all too expensive. Management needs to review the price boards in my opinion. Food was good nonetheless, luckily considering I paid all the money for it...

Best chips I've had for a long while .really impressed

Whilst being advertised as open until 1400 they turn the fryers off at 1330

We just had the most fabulous fish and chips ever. The plaice was perfect - delicate and so tasty; the cod was succulent and flaky. Chips were crispy on the outside, soft inside. We cannot recommend Fairgreen fish bar enough. Thank you.

Seem to come back every so often but not sure why, very expensive and I always leave feeling like they gave me the smaller piece of fish than I paid for or the oldest unappealing piece of fish possible. If you're paying nearly £10 just for the fish it's got to be cooked to order not like the one I had last. Think from now on I will always ask for it to be cooked fresh while I'm there

Always great products here, lovely crispy batter, the freshest fish, wonderful chips. Other items such as chicken fillet burger and vegetarian burger are well cooked and well presented in recyclable boxes.

Best fish and chip shop in Diss! Kids love it. We drive in from a surrounding village just to collect from here! Only comment I would make is we avoid the saveloy now after a couple of dry ones!

This isn’t the closest chip shop to us but certainly worth travelling that but more as it never disappoints. The chips are lovely,the fish cakes and sausage in batter are soooo nice and the staff are really friendly. I tried the fish bites I think that are called, for the first time this week and I am definitely having them next time. They were really good. No complaints at all. I call to order at a certain time as I am working so I can just pop in and not wait, then home to enjoy. Thank you for having the best chip shop around Rachel

Had a cod supper and a plaice supper. Both freshly cooked. Top notch. Highly recommend you try. Will be back.

Lovely chips but not worth £4 for a regular size.. the staff were friendly and offered a free complimentary fishcake. My father in law ate them as I don't eat fish.

Recently moves to Brockdish and was recommended this fish and chip bar, we don't go anywhere else or even tried anywhere else, highly recommend...

Arrived here 15 minutes before closing time but the Fairgreen team was ready to serve. Got some cod and chips for the family and it didn’t disappoint. Service was nice and friendly and were happy to serve us even with the threat of the closing time looming! Great portions too!

Very expensive - compared to my local chippy... chips didn't look fresh... waited for a while but only because is very popular with the locals

Lovely Roe and chips on offer, a bit pricey but actually worth it. Very clean place, nice staff. Only issue is that the Roe was wrapped up so tight that when I opened it, the batter had come off the Roe, still tasted nice though. Good dog walk and play area nearby.

The food is nice and a good size. A little on the expensive. Two portions of chips with a large battered sausage came to £20+ pounds. The staff work hard and get through the que quickly. Would use it.

Got a large cod and chips batter was nice and golden but the fish could have been better fish tasted tangy and like it was nearly off avoid fish if going here I'm sure the other food they offer is fine but must try harder

Tasty but sausage & chip over a fiver

Bought plaice and chips here last night because my more local F&C shop closed for some unknown reason. I have to say the service was cheery and welcoming. Also, the plaice was fresh and cooked to perfection.

I had sausage and chips twice cost £9.90 the sausage lunch time just warm up and the chips was hotter than sausages I would given a half star

I live near Norwich and work in Eye. Without a doubt, these are the best fish and chips in the area. Absolutely faultless. Not the cheapest but by far the best. Friendly staff, food in boxes which is good for eating in the car. My weekly treat!

Really lovely large fried cod, lovely price.

Never let us down - best chips in the area and while the parking is lacking and the waits can be long, they always get the order right, always do the orders in order of who came in first and have always been really friendly. Come here most Friday nights.

Used this chippy last week Aug 22. As usual the food is always good, hot and fresh. But what I was really surprised at was the cost of a pie £4.10 for just a pie without chips!! Is it me or does this sound excessive. I understand about the cost of overheads and the rise in energy costs but........

One star for the chips, which were brilliant. But the management were rude for no reason.

Awesome. Always make a point of stopping here if passing. Pies are amazing, chips are best around, saveloys are proper...all gravy!! (Except they don't do gravy, my only grumble)

Used this chip shop tonight for the first time while on holiday. It was absolutely lovely. I had a burger and chips, hubby had pie and chips. I always comment that chips from chip shops are never cooked quite enough, these were cooked to perfection. We will be back next time we are here

Just had a cod and chips . Old oil and is it cod ?? Still have the bad taste . Happened few times I've been there .

Standard, not as good as the sea side! Waited 15 minutes for battered sausage and chips despite them being in the counter ready to go. A little disappointed on the whole, but nothing wrong with the food.

Very friendly staff and great food. The menu is extensive and all cooked to order. Scampi, cod and fried chicken were all great on this occasion. You do always seem to get loads of chips, so worth under-ordering on those. AMEX not accepted, unfortunately. 💳🚫

We ended up ordering food from here three times on our holiday. It was very good, including the ordering process online where you get a timer that shows when your order will be ready for pick up. Would definitely come back.

Food is hot, fresh and excellent quality. Staff are amazing and nothing is too much trouble for them. It's clean and tidy. Covid measures in place, which puts people at ease. Big portions which is brilliant! Online ordering system works really well too. Definitely worth the price you are paying for quality fish.

Going from Norwich to Botesdale today and came across Fairgreen Fish Bar!My wife has been longing for fish and chips ever since lockdown!So we stopped I went and ordered large cod chips and mushy peas, and my favourite plaice chips and curry sauce!Absolutely perfect and delicious!Freshly fried, and very clean shop with all Covid 19 guidelines in place!Highly recommended! Will definitely go again!

If any takeaway food place needs to know how to operate during the pandemic, just pay fair green a visit. Can't imagine it could be done better. And, of course the fish is still just as good as ever. Don't know why anyone in the area would go elsewhere.
