We drove from our holiday cottage to get fish and chips here. We ordered fish and chips, Veggie spring roll and chips. Not much choice on menu for veggies and not sure what the chips were cooked in as the oil on the chips tasted strong. Good size portions and the medium chips was probably a bit big for 1 so small may be enough especially if not a big eater. Fish was tasty but the batter taste wasn't light but a little greasy. Food was fine but not amazing.

This is one of the best fish & chips in the area!! Incredible chips, cooked perfect! Not too oily! The curry sauce is amazing!!! Ahh I can’t recommend them enough!! 10/10! Cash only as well!

A local and fresh fish and chip shop with friendly workers and a large menu. Very quick waiting times and advertising board on the wall along with news papers for anyone waiting.

Mon épouse m’a invité dans ce restaurant pour mon anniversaire avec ma fille. Nous sommes arrivés au restaurant à 19h30. Nous avons eu un accueil chaleureux. Nous avons pris trois entrées, trois mains courtes et trois desserts Pour attendre notre commande, on nous apporter des Crips et de l’humus Les entrées ainsi que les mains courses et les desserts étaient bons et le service impeccable, je conseille à toutes les personnes qui vivent dans le Norfolk d’y aller, mais il faut réserver à l’avance

Despite on google search where it states that contactless payment is accepted…it is not. Please change this on your profile. Luckily I had cash. Chips nice and crispy.

We were out geocaching in the vicinity & we knew we would need to get dinner before heading to an event later that evening. Having paid an eye watering £9 just for two cups of tea at a nearby establishment, we knew that was not an option for dinner. Thankfully we came across this little gem, tucked up in to the corner of Mill Street. We called in around 5pm. We got our order served super quick & we adjourned to our dining area (the car🤪). We thoroughly enjoyed our chippy tea!! The Chips were especially good, they were fresh, hot & best of all they weren't greasy👍🏻 The nicest chips I've had in a long time, so thanks. It was super value for money too💷 Perfect treat after a lovely sunny afternoon of geocaching. We would highly recommend this Chip Shop 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Ordered large cod but it was cut so thinly I couldn’t believe it for the price. There was almost no fish at all. Chips were ok. Cash only is such a tax dodge.

After going out of my way to buy my fish and chips here over several years it is sadly going downhill. What used to be excellent is now rubbish. I am not getting the fish that I ordered, the last purchase was very small for the size I asked for, it tasted as if it had spent hours in the hot cabinet and the chips likewise had the taste and texture of having spent hours in a not so hot cabinet. They need to improve their act if they want to win back my business.

The food is nice and fresh, especially scampi and potato fritters. The portion of fish is quite large. The staff is friendly and polite too. I will absolutely order again.

My first time using this fish and chip shop and I'm sorry to say it was disappointing, chips were poor and general standard of food not up to what I was expecting/of comparison to other local chip shops. Service was reasonable on the plus side. Might have been an off day

Fantastic Fish & Chips. Extremely friendly staff and a really quick turn around. If 10 stars was an option I would have given that. Well worth it, and now the Chip Shop we use.

Absolutely devine Cod and chips. The fish is cooked in such a way, that it flakes away and not dry. The batter is by far the best around. Not dripping with oil, but crispy and tender.

Have visited here a few times lately and I must say this has become my favourite fish and chip shop. Portions always good, chips are crispy even after the journey home. We've had sausages, cod , haddock and the spring roll which is my favourite. I feel this is the best fish and chip shop in the area and happy to travel a little further to get a good meal.

This has got to be the worst fish and chips I've ever had. My husband had a large cod and it was mainly batter, the fish I would class as small in comparison to other fish shops. Mine was small and again all batter, very dry and every mouthful had bones. Both were very greasy. We will never visit here again and I can't understand how some people have given such good reviews.

We Have chips from here every Friday at work and i can honestly say best chips around for miles ! Generous portions and very good price, i highly reccomend to anyone!

These fish and chips are really delicious with crispy batter and lovely fresh fish. The shop is in a little village but always seems to have plenty of customers. The owner is a very hard-working man and the shop is open every day but Sunday, which leaves me relieved that he at least has Sunday to recuperate or he would be run absolutely ragged. A very well-deserved five-star rating.

Got home and found my order was missing 2 items, it was too far to go back and complain. The place doesn't take cards, which is strange when hardly any business is accepting cash these days. I don't usually have much cash with me but luckily I found just enough in my car. The fish was covered in crunchy, brittle batter which I didn't like. I doubt I will be visiting again.

One of the worse Fish and Chips I have ever had. Just paid for large cod and chips, the fish was extremely small, just double battered to make it look bigger it was greasy. They should be ashamed of themselves and we will not be going back or recommending this place to friends.

Just had rockfish n chips. Very disappointed as fish was all batter very little fish inside for the money same as cod for my girlfriend feel cheated of Friday fish n chips meal. Not worth the money . Will go elsewhere now .

Lovely place for something to eat

If you would like to go to a fish shop and order what you want then get there early. 1/2 an hour before closing day or night you are only offered left overs as they are closing is the reason! I hope you understand- we are closing! Yes I get it you are closing or did I-misunderstand again! So drove 5 minutes down the road to another fish shop who served what I ordered and cooked it fresh without question. Won't be going back to Stoke, business hours and food selection very unreliable- let down numerous times now even on special family occasions that they were made aware of prior to- no excuse for it.

Excellent service & delicious food as usual

First visit here and had small cod and medium chips and was very happy with the portion size which was enough for me and I thought price was good. Hot as well. I had checked that they were open ( Tuesday teatime ) as many chippies in smaller places are only open weekends and was pleased that they were.

Usually come here for are fish and chips and always happy but tonight I'm not happy at all.My girls went in and ordered a battered burger fish cake and chips, battered burger sausage and chips small portion of chips and curry sauce it came to nearly £15, we didn't even get the small portion of chips as we checked before leaving shop, they wanted more money for the forgotten chips and this is when I was told how much they had already been charged. I went in to question this and asked to see my receipt where I was refused and given the chips and told to leave and that everything was right. The shop was not busy so was not causing a scene and i was polite but found you very rude tonight. Will not be using this fish and chip shop again.

For starters they don’t take cards, cash only (I wonder why?) I ordered large cod and chips, let me be clear large is not large at this chip shop, at best it’s a medium!!! although they advertise 3 sizes, small must be the size of a fish finger!! Chips were not great but the fish was edible.

Very poor meal I had chicken pie it was not hot and nowhere near being hot and the same with the chips and I only traveled 1 mile back home, very disappointed Don't think I will go back again.

Pensamos que probaríamos el Rockfish y Scampi. Pedí por teléfono y llegué para descubrir que era solo en efectivo y luego tuve que ir al supermercado más cercano a unas pocas millas de distancia. Ya sea que el pescado se haya refrito en ese tiempo o haya estado reposando durante un tiempo, el pescado no era comestible. La masa excesiva era como cemento y el mínimo pescado que pudimos encontrar estaba seco. ¡Nunca más! Aunque las patatas fritas estaban bien.

Medium cod and chips! Amazing, you can actually taste the fish (finally). Make sure u got the right order before you leave (they normally mix up orders) although totally recomend it

Parece que siempre se les da un horrible trozo de pescado seco que ha estado en el calentador desde su apertura, independientemente de lo que he ordenado. El dueño es bastante grosero y generalmente se niega a cocinar pescado fresco a menos que sea viernes por la noche. Mejores tiendas de pescado y papas fritas a nivel local, a pesar de vivir en el pueblo y a poca distancia, prefiero conducir a Poringland o tomar un sándwich de queso. Hay que evitarlo a menos que sea una tarde ocupada como los viernes y es probable que el pescado se cocine recientemente.

Can't beat the fish & chips highly recommend.

We ordered a larger order and a small order to eat immediately - but they managed to mix both orders up in the same box. Also they didn't seem to double cook the chips as they said they would. However, they do crispies, and the fish was tasty.

You sometimes have to queue but it’s worth it. The fish and chips are really good and if you want to eat them in your car they will loan you a tray.

Well, I live locally and I've never had bad service at all. Chips non-greasy and haddock nice and tasty. In fact, Stoke's just has the edge over Poringland's for it's generous serving of chips. Keep smiling :)

As we live locally we have tried this place a few times...consistently small portions...large cod,and large chips are an average portion elsewhere...The batter is very think and spikey ..too much batter for us...and extremely small fish portions...Don’t bother with the plaice..the thinest smallest,piece I’ve ever had....chips are v nice although sometimes these have been dry..maybe left over from lunch ?Probably the worst fish we’ve ever had and the tiniest of portions..v disappointing.The young lad who serves looks v hardworking and nice guy.We’ve given them 5 chances..will not be going back .

Good quality and cooked while you are there. Therefore nice and hot to eat. Never heard a single complaint about it. We pass another fish and chip. shop to go there.
