Most expensive Fish & Chip shop ever...... £4.50 for a bag of chips!! Absolute rip off!!

While the food wasnt bad, the current prices are beyond a joke- I understand costs had to go up in line with everything else recently but the fact Cod now starts at nearly £10 on its own is beyond something else (pretty sure they were £6-7 a year/2 ago). Chips approaching £4/5 as well and fish cakes/sausages nearly the price of chips. This is probably not the only chip shop guilty but it’s a shame takeaways now cost this much

Our usual chippy was closed so decided to try Mr Chips. Honestly some of the best we’ve had in a long time, hot, not at all greasy and delicious. Will be back without a doubt

Person frying was asked at least 6-7 times if he had anything cooked, his reply was no we are shutting, this was 15mins before closing, I asked if there was a large piece of cod I got a stern reply of no we are shutting, this for a town centre chip shop is not good enough, there was nothing cooked on the tray so no choice, I ended up paying £18 for something we didn’t want, the food it’s self was just about OK, the chips were not great and the sausage that I had was dried up and I ended up leaving it, all in all a very disappointing visit, I will be trying one of the other chip shops around the town next time.

A dozen us of arrived here Friday evening after a scenic ride along the back country roads from Norwich. The service, variety of food and taste was superb, thank you! Extremely helpful staff who kindly replaced a portion of fish and chips dropped outside by one of our group (free of charge!) A chilly evening was certainly improved by the delights from Mr Chips, fabulous battered fish and well cooked chips, thank you! We enjoyed sitting, eating and watching the sunset over the Mere before our return ride home.

Really awful food the fish was dry over cooked and batter poor the saveloy was cremated as was sausage in batter the mushy peas were stodgy and the only thing worth eating from a 25 pound order were the chips I will not bother agsin

I visited Mr Chips this evening, I am working in the area and really fancied decent fish and chips. Mr Chips is right in the middle of Diss and there is parking outside. The shop is light and airy, and well presented. Sadly they had no rock so I went for medium cod and chips.. The prices are reasonable, and the fish was cooked fresh.. I didn't have to wait long. My dinner was seved up in a smart box and smelt fantastic. Portion was good, batter on the fish was cooked to perfection and the chips were too. Its a 10 out of 10 for me. Next time I am in the area I will definately be calling in again

Best fish and chips what ate in my life

Quick and friendly service. Lovely clean and bright looking chippy! Lots of salt and vinegar given and the chips are amazing! Fried in vegetable oil/fat so suitable for veggies. £2.20 for a small. Not cheap but not expensive either. I'll be back soon for a large... enjoy the chips/view!

Super nice Gluton Free fish and chips cooked very well, crispy batter moist fish and the chips were like the fish very ummmm yummy.

Food was nice but waited ages to get it! They seem to concentrate on telephone orders and the people in the shop have to wait. Don't think I will be using them again.

I paid 27 pounds for the coldest chips and little bit of of fish ever

One of the best 1/2 pound bacon cheeseburgers I've had the pleasure to eat. Went back for a second one the next day. Highly recommended.

Order 2 small cod, curry sauce, portion of chips, haven't ordered for a while from you. The whole order was absolutely amazing, two empty plates and two very satisfied customers, looking forward to the next time we order from you.

The shop is always lovely and clean and the food it’s always fresh and delicious prepared there and then they make every single customer feel special and worthy and always meet all expectations.I would highly recommend it to everyone as it’s so many variety and a bargain for all pockets :)

Excellent haddock and chips. Some of the best fish I've had - meaty, fresh, perfectly cooked.

We stopped off for a small portuon of chips and they were delicious! The service was fast and friendly and we ate ate a table outside the shop. The Fish Kitchen sells a great range of fish and side dishes. We enjoyed our visit and will certainly have fish and chips on our next visit.

I would have given a 5 star review as both the fish and chips were delicious. The chips were cooked to perfection and the fish had the right amount of crispy batter and the cod flaked beautifully. But both my husband and I suffered from awful indigestion later in the evening, which we can only put down to the vegetable oil used. But that is just us, maybe that particular type of oil doesn't digest well with us. I would hate to put anyone off at least trying them as like I said, they were delicious. Plus the staff were very friendly and polite.

It's recently changed hands and is no where near as good! A huge shame!
