The only Fish and Chips I will eat. Always good quality and lovely people

When we moved to Easton looked forward to being able to go here after all what we'd heard. Unfortunately we've had undercooked batter and a lot of grease when we've had it and it's about 1.5 times more expensive than other chip shops. Personally will drive a bit further for better and cheaper

Eaten at The Rembrandt many times now, both takeaway and the restaurant. I would not hesitate to recommend. The takeaway portions are huge and always freshly cooked. The restaurant service is always friendly and efficient. Great job The Rembrandt!

Been here a few times & quality varies from very good to awful. Last visit the fish tasted ‘old’. Pre ordered but don’t know why I bothered as no organisation for orders & stood in line with everyone else so maybe that’s why fish was not good as got my order 10minutes after I should & only then because I pushed my way forward. Only one person serving, fryers standing around. Would rather go further afield to get consistent quality & better service.

AWFUL, RIP-OFF We bought takeout cod & chips @£10/head at 5pm on 09/06/23, Very expensive for a sub-standard product. The fish was hard and chewy as were the chips. We will not use this place again & definitely don’t recommend it. This business needs to think again about its service model.

Cold & tough chips - couldn’t cut into either pie - pastry rock hard ! - Both our meals were completely in edible. ‘All’ gone in the bin. Will not be going back

We’ve had fish and chips quite a few times from this take away and have always been extremely happy with the quality, portion size, price and service. Unfortunately we called in for a take away fish and chip early supper on Thursday 16/3/2023 and was very disappointed. The fish wasn't thick and succulent as usual but was covered in mostly thick greasy batter and the chips were not as good as they have been before. Sadly, we won’t be buying from here again.

A wonderful family run restaurant, a hidden gem just outside Norwich, a perfect example of a fish and chip restaurant that has stood the test of time. A warm welcome, genuine hosts and the best fish and chips we have had for a long time. Serving 40 plus people at the same time was no mean feat, but achieved successfully, with everything still hot and perfectly served - perfection on a plate. We couldn't have asked for more ...

Very poor organisation 4 people behind the counter and no team wok what so ever… over 20min wait before walking out…working at a snails pace! Cannot comment on food never got that far!

This place is amazing with best chips I have had in along time, The fish was lovely. Large middle cod like a steak with bit white chunk flakes. The service was great also, really friendly and you could see they were trying their best with all other customers. Great place to eat!

Service excellent, food delicious, portions superb

Always always have great food at the Rembrandt, and the lady that runs the front of house is incredibly lovely and does her best. We do come here often as we know the food will be great, but we come here with the expectation that the service will be a bit skittish but slow at the same time. I really think you need more waitresses, or maybe more attention to detail. There’s usually at least one thing missed off our order, BUT only small things like the bread rolls etc. The amazing food 100% makes up for it and we will continue to return.

Really friendly staff...I had the scampi and chips with side salad followed by pineapple fritter, cream and ice cream... The food was piping hot just as it should ... Would definitely go there again

A generous 2 star given. Previously been in and ate in the restaurant which was great. Tonight I went in for a take away order. The lady behind was clearly flustered and stressed with the amount of orders. Misheard my order and when the other half went in to get it corrected, we were accused of not ordering what I asked for. The food is great but the rudeness of the stressed lady wasn’t great.

Four very tasty meals desserts beers and coffees were provided by very pleasant staff of the Rembrant restaurant. Looking forward to booking in again.Thank you .

When we turned up it, it wasn't obvious that the restaurant entrance was now moved to the left side the building (a unlit blackboard at the front in the dark wasn't helpful). We had to walk down a dark path on the left hand side, into the restaurant to a dimly lit foyer. We were seated quickly, but was soon forgotten about, not given any menus for a good 10-15 mins. The restaurant was very cold, to the extend even in a jumper and coat I was still cold. Finally we got the menus, but we were disappointed as they had reduced the menu - but still listed the full menu on their website. We did feel it took a long time to get our food, and the portion size was very small... For £10 for cod and chips, normally it would fill the plate but it was like a hand serving. And to top it all off, to use the toilets you must leave the restaurant, and go to the right hand side and go into the bar. You have to get a key, and the toilet was so cold and damp, the toilet paper was wet. This place used to be really nice, with huge portions and it seems to have failed in so many areas. This is a great disappointment.

Extreme wait in queue with two people actually giving up and going elsewhere Poor organisation by the service and cooking team Disruptive ordering and service Extortionately expensive Grubby appearance in and out Grumpy staff Maybe these guys should try a different job coz they certainly cannot run a fish and chips restaurant.... Much better quicker and easier to head into the city.

A superb after lock down escape to normality , there has been no compromise on quality or service here , the same superb people & food . the skate was fantastic it over hung the plate ( chips on another ) white tender and tasted superb with light crispy batter too , a juicy pineapple ring too , still the same fantastic quality and service despite all the hard ships from the last 18 months

Really great fish and chips and good portions

The wife paid 13pounds for two small fish and chips. When we opened them it was one fish. The fish was dry as cardboard,whilst the chips were ok. The batter was also too dry as if it was reheated. Would not recommend. It based on our only purchase there. Mr.and Mrs O' Brien

Nice food, nice people but the service is sooooooo slow no matter what time of evening/what day you go.

Recently had a take away ( of course). Plaice and Haddock. The Plaice was two tiny fillets with the skin. Probably cooked at opening time 4,00pm, but by 6,00pm was pretty dried out. For £8 was very poor value. Complained the next day and was given the brush off. After 22 years, first time for reason of complaint, so not a bad average, and give them the benefit of the doubt re the fish, but not the attitude.

Visited for takeaway following personal recommendation and had the best fish and chips ever ! Will definitely return for an eat in meal when we can.

Upon recommendation, visited Rembrandts Fish and Chip Shop on 17/04/2021. For a Saturday evening there were only 8 people ahead in the queue. Covid precautions fully in place. Only card payments accepted. Ordered, 2 x Cod and Chips, the fish priced per portion were £5, £8 or £10 respectively, with chip prices starting at £2 per portion. Was expecting a quality meal but was extremely disappointed. The chips were only luke warm and tasted almost reheated, certainly not crispy, soggy in fact. The fish for £5 was very small, the size of the palm of my hand. They were wrapped in two sheets of paper with no greaseproof lining, enabling the oil to seep into the wrapping paper which disintegrated when unwrapped and stuck to the fish and chips. The chips only just filled the small paper packet which they were served in. Would not recommend a visit to this establishment despite the sign on the main road informing people it is an award winning Fish and Chip Shop. For £14, I am sure we could have located much better for our money, if only we knew the area. Certainly will not recommend or visit again.

The best fish and chips in Norwich.

First visit in a while. The collection process could be easier, I precooked (as had others) but you still have to queue with those that are ordering at the time. Also couldn’t give a receipt for contactless payment, which I was only told after I’d paid. Which is annoying as I can’t claim my sustenance back without a receipt.

Best chip shop in Norfolk by far and skip and Lucy are lovely.

The worst fish and chips we have ever had. As we unwrapped them the paper was saturated with grease and we had to pat dry the fish and chips with kitchen paper. At this point we had already lost our appetite. The batter was thick and stodgy. I feel these had been refried/reheated. Needless to say they ended up in the bin. Very disappointed and what a waste of money!

Best fish and chips I've had recently

Lovely little fish shop, very clean. Portion sizes were good but very, very greasy. So much so that we couldn't eat it all. The chips were soft and had soaked up the grease and the batter on the fish was also soft and greasy. Think everything would have benefited by a little longer in the fryer. Very Disappointed phoned and ordered for takeaway large Tail cod and chips twice ! Sorry dont do large Tail but all fish is de boned ! Arrived place was busy constant flow of people driving in and out. Thought must be good as so busy ! My order was ready just had to be rapped and paid for lovely ! Got home unwrapped and found Large Tail cod ! ! It tasted old batter was Soft and Very Sloppy Very Oily and the Skin was so inedible I could have resoled my Work boots ! Chips were No better most were stuck to paper bag and wrapping ! Couldn't recycle that ! Definitely WON'T be going back ! !

Just returned home after purchasing 'large' fish and chips. Not sure what's happened here but the portions are really small, I'd drive back and complain if I lived closer but I don't. Will avoid next time.

Very disappointed. The restaurant /take away /bar So arrived, nothing was explained to us about either eating at restaurant /take away /bar. Decided to sit in bar area ordered drinks (lovely barmaid) Was given a menu ordered at the service counter was not asked where we was eating, asked what was the catch of the day what would you recommend, got looked at like we were aliens, no reply for waitress, so just made out order. Went back through to the bar area, tables set out with condiments etc, got called through saying order was ready, packed in a bag as a take out, when I said we were eating in bar area she looked at us like we were expected to know that it's a separate menu for bar area (not a mind reader) So asked to have it in restaurant. No as its a separate menu in there aswell and have to book. So left unimpressed only to get home and sorry to say worse fish & chips I've ever had &, worse customer service apart from the barmaid.

This place is so inconsistent. Went there friday for a takeaway. The fish was clearly a reheat or old, lacked any kind of flakeyness, was very dry and chewy and the chips left a lot to be desired. Been before in restaurant and had good fish but never good chips.They had the cheek recently in putting the price up, they really have to look at their selves. Should be a option for zero stars, will not be returning. The cat and dog enjoyed it
