Thai Dereham in Breckland

This is the first time we have been to this restaurant and will definitely be going back. The food was amazing, freshly cooked and the staff really friendly and nice. If you want authentic Thai food, this is definitely the place.

Had take away- excellent- up to the usual high standard.

What a hidden gem! An absolutely fabulous evening at Thai Dereham. To not knowing what to expect but to be blown away by this place, wow! The atmosphere was calm but very welcoming and my party and I commented on the warm reception and prompt service immediately. The food, my goodness, was bloody excellent. We had the starters platter, Pad Thai, Drunken Rum Beef and a chef's special scallops and prawn dish which were all packed with flavour and cooked with ingredients which were clearly fresh and flavourful. People of Norfolk, don't sleep on this place and give it the recognition it clearly deserves! We will be back very soon!

Very friendly and efficient service. Freshly cooked Thai dishes which were delicious. Visiting Dereham Thai was a lovely change from the usual pub fare. Well worth a visit. Happy to support local independent businesses.

We always come here, and the food is always perfect and great value.

Terrible service waited over 30mins for drinks - my son’s food classed as tangy was so so hot that he was unable to eat his £20 dish. When questioned why this was not classed as spicy on the menu I was told by a rather rude member of staff that I had to pay as my son had eaten two bits of the duck, I was also told that tangy meant spicy in their restaurant. The whole experience was horrendous and the bad customer service I received means I will never go back and will now go to the Thai restaurant in beetley.

Absolutely disgusting food and very rude staff. Came here for a family meal spent a lot of money and the rice was hard,the food over all was dry, cold,bland, the beef did NOT look or taste like beef and was cold and I was refused a refund when they could see clearly it hadn’t been touched. You could make a better meal at home and save yourself money!! Avoid this restaurant at all costs and go to the shatudee wymondham there the best! Will never be coming again.

Not been here for a while but decided on a takeaway meal for 5 of us. We all had different dishes and all were super tasty. Not one complaint. Delicious We’re planning on a sit down visit soon Recommended

My new favourite restaurant. Second is the white lion pub norwich. This place was fantastic. The staff were so helpful and patient, they gave us good advice on what to order etc. The food was incredible. We had the butterfly King prawn and squid starters followed by peeking tiger Rib eye steak - superb!! Beautifully cooked medium rare in a delicious powerful savoury sauce with mushrooms and a little veg cooked to perfection. The other meal we had was seafood ie prawns mussels and squid in a sweet sauce, which was lovely but very sweet, so would accompany it with plain rice to combat the strong flavour profiles.

Lovely little restaurant with seating on two floors. Friendly welcome and great food. Extensive menu, we choose the set meal for two. Great selection of starters with dipping sauces. The mains were all very fresh and tasty. Chicken cashew nuts, Thai beef curry and mixed vegetable dish and also rice. For dessert I chose the honeycomb cheesecake which was lovely and hubby plumped for an Irish coffee. Would definitely return.

Hidden Gem Fantastice authentic Thai food cooked and served perfectly by people who care about the customers' experience. We love the Thai at the Ordnance Arms in Guist and were pleasantly surprised to find this is a sister restaurant. We highly recommend this thai restaurant.

My wife's family and I had an excellent takeaway this evening from Thai Dereham. Everyone enjoyed their food. The staff dealt with any allergy needs professionally. I'd really recommend Thai Dereham if they're in need of excellent thai food in the area.

Nice restaurant with friendly staff and the food is always nice. Whenever we're in the area we always make a point of getting food here. I'm a fan of the jungle curry but have also had other dishes which are just as nice. Never had a bad dish...everything I've tried here is always excellent.

Went here last night with family. What a find! Tucked away in a quiet street behind the market place is a really great Thai restaurant. Food was very authentic and the service excellent. The chef came out at the end to thank us for coming.

We also had pineapple fried rice and crab fried rice which in all honesty, one fried rice is enough between two people, very nice though. We ordered and collected within 30mins which was great for a Saturday night although struggled to find parking as we are on holiday. Bit expensive for takeaway but to be honest if we had dined in I wouldn’t have questioned it. If your in the area give it a try 👍

Really excellent food, full of authentic flavours. We asked for spicy and it was just right. Each dish had its own carefully crafted and unique taste. We all really enjoyed the meal and would highly recommend Thai Dereham.

We were a large group and were very looked after. Food was delicious and quick but beware the hot soup was very, very hot! Good choice for vegetarians and vegan in our group

Superb takeaway. From ordering via delivery to eating. Piping hot food. Tastes very fresh. One of the best I’ve ever had. Chicken green curry was very good as was duck with ginger and weeping tiger. Sorry no photos as ate it all before thinking.

The food and service were largely good, however everything (except the starters) was quite sweet and this was a bit too odd for us with a pad Thai. The duck spring rolls and chicken satay were especially delicious and the chicken Penang curry and red duck curry were good, if a bit on the sweet side. The jasmine rice was decent too and in the main portion sizes were generous. We opted for a vegetable pad Thai and it was frankly too sweet - we were drinking coke too, so it was especially notable. We didn't eat it and raised the issue with the serving staff, but were told that this was to be expected with a pad Thai, which was a first for us! The price was reasonable, but we wouldn't visit again.

The prawn crackers were the nicest I’ve tasted and the Pad Thai and Pad Mee very very tasty and huge portions. Definitely recommend and wish we had a place like this nearer home.

Had a good meal. Huge portion especially the starters which were too big if you are also having a main course. Service was good. Prices were good. One drawback is that some of the tables are upstairs which arent easy to negotiate if you are...

May look a little rustic from the outside but they serve the best Thai food in the area in our opinion, friendly staff and reasonably priced, definitely worth a visit.

Popped In a few weeks ago after hearing good reviews. Was fairly quiet the night we popped in so had plenty of space, the gentleman serving us was very friendly and prompt. Food came out quickly and was delicious. Chef came up to say hello...

Was only two covers and waiter said that's the only bookings for the night, and still put us next to each other really! Food was very mediocre actually rubbish! Should have realised when walked in entrance and ironing board up with table cloth on it really! Sort it out if could give it lower than 1* would have, Very over priced for what its worth. I'm from London and expected more but looking at reviews this is what people are used to in Norfolk.

Lovely friendly people. Sticking well to Covid rules. Meal was rather expensive I felt for what we had. Sizzling Rib eye, sticky, Lukewarm, no sizzle at all. Green curry too sweet. No peanuts to be found in Pad Thai and was oily. I could have maybe sent it all back but just thought, too much trouble, we've tried it and would not return.

Had a right banging meal from the Thai Dereham last night. Highly recommend the Nam Tok. Add an order of chilli oil rice and there is no hiding place. It was hot going in and it was hot coming out like a proper spicy meal...

Whether it's takeaway or dining in Thai Dereham never fails to deliver high quality, fantastic tasting food. With almost the whole menu being offered with vegetarian/vegan choice. I mostly get takeaways from here and have been for over 3 years, never had one average meal...

Sadly this was poor, for what we paid, could have done more £6 for squid for only 4 mixed size pieces and tasteless, taste was ok on other parts but too small potions.

This is a nice hidden Thai Restaurant that you shouldnt miss, the menus is expansive and all around delicious with a wide selection of drinks as well. While personally not vegetarian, my date was satisfied that almost everything on the menu had a vegetarian option. I personally had a pork dish (I cant remember the name) and it was fantastic. The service was very friendly as well. Will be going again.

Reviewing Dereham Thai because the food is always consistently good. Whether it’s eating in, or takeaway, the food is delicious. Our favourites are Crispy Beef & Crab rice. Staff are friendly & service spot on. You won’t get a better meal in Dereham.

I ansolutely hate with a vengeance those awful green and red peppers, if I eat one I will be repeating it for days, awful things, i'm not allergic, I just don't like the taste or the after effects, most dishes have them, I asked can I have mine without "yes, no problem" I ordered, saying again "no peppers" everything came out with peppers, I said I asked for no peppers, I got a shrug, I waited for the guy I ordered from, he said oh, sorry, let me pick them out for you! this was a while ago and we as a group have never been back,

Authentic, fresh, flavourful food. It is consistently good and always something to look forward to. It isn't the cheapest take away but it is great value as the food is of such good quality. Streets ahead of anywhere else in Dereham.A particular favourite for me is the Penang curry but everything I have tried has been excellent.

Got to report on the banging takeaway we had last night. I have always ordered the weeping tiger from here whenever I have takeaway and it’s always been good. Last night I decided to try a different dish so went for the beef red curry. Wow, it was absolutely banging good. Highly recommend this dish to anyone who likes a bit of flavour in their meal. My missus had a yellow curry which also looked good and she seemed to like it so all in all a smashing takeaway.

Service was a bit slow but the food was well worth it.

Delicious Thai food in a very unexpected location. Definitely wasn't expecting it in the middle of Norfolk.

We always receive a warm welcome and the food is consistently delicious. Mark is very helpful with recommendations for both food and wine if any advice is needed. Everything is freshly cooked and for anyone who enjoys Thai food, the menu choices and fantastic favours are excellent. We will visit again soon.

We arrived for our 7.30 booking to be told we had cancelled it !! After assuring the staff we hadn’t we were told to sit in the bar and wait for a table !! Couldn’t quite get my head around this as there should be a spare table of five as one has been cancelled. I asked to see the reservation diary and there was our booking clearly not cancelled! We still had to wait for our table. We were sat with prawn crackers and 3 menus and a drinks order was taken. Then two more menus were given to us and there we sat for half an hour. It was now 8.10 so I went to find a member of staff to take our order. Our order was taken and our starters arrived. Upon having our starters cleared we ordered more drinks - twice - as the first order didn’t arrive !!

Pleasant meal, service superb and friendly. Interesting freshly prepared menu, starters great, mains interesting mix of spice and fresh herbs. Thanks to all for a great meal.
