Would recommend every one for döner kabab as they make it very good ..I am a regular customer … 5 star for food Points to improve Please remove the shit policy of minimum 15 pounds card …or u wud B losing customers …save yr tax in other way plz ..

I ordered, with 2 days notice, fish and chips for 40 people at Watford Social Centre for the Blind after our trip on the River Ouse was cancelled due to the recent flooding. Zac couldn't have been more helpful, gave a competitive price and had all the food boxed up ready to go when I arrived. All the members thoroughly enjoyed the food and we would use them again in the future without hesitation.

If you’re super hungry must go place, I ate like a cow. 🤤

Nice tasty fish & Chips, even better than most I've had by the coast in recent years. Definitely be coming here again.

I am absolutely disgusted with this pile of oily mess. WTH is this!! There was no seasoning totally tasteless, the batter on fish was soggy and stuck to my chips which couldn't peel off and eventually left this tasteless rubbery skin which still had its raw aroma........I am very disappointed waste of money as you can't expect anyone to eat that.i had to chuck this away.. You've actually become the worst place in watord since raising your prices. I won't be returning again!

I think it is absolutely awful that minimum spend on card is £15, most people don't carry cash 😕 so if you buy a takeaway for one which often the elderly do or people that just want chips then they have to go to the cash point and pay another £1.25 to get money out on top of their takeaway just to eat. If it wasn't for customers you wouldn't have a buisness, drop the £15 minimum spend and value your customers

Great place to order some fish and chips. The staff was very nice and served our food with a big smile. The small portion was more then enough. A large cod is a very big cod. We had a great time eating in here.

Absolute disgusting behaviour CASH ONLY I hate that when tax dodgers do that. First of all you pay £11 for a doner wrap which used to be a fiver then no card payment. Staff refused three of my friends in this place they said because boss need to pay the wages in cash to us. It's ridiculous so Cash only. If your bill comes more than 15 quid they say card machine is not working.Next door chicken shop take card payment even for £ 3. They have overheads too. They also get charge by the bank still they take cards but avoid that chicken shop too horrible smell of dirty oil in their chicken. Actually avoid this whole parade you better off.

I have just been there with my friends we had a fish and chips freshly cooked and my other friend had a kebab and we really enjoyed it.I consider everyone to go and have a look there.

This is just my experience the last time I visited this takeaway: The food was hit and cooked to order, however, the chips/fish etc were extremely greasy. The bag of chips, the paper basically crumbled there was that much grease. Staff were fine and they are always chatty. I love how they still have the original owner of the old court lands chip shop. She is great and just shows the type of people they are for hiring her after taking over. Overall, the food isn’t half bad but just too greasy at times. I do miss the old takeaway from my childhood but regardless, this one isn’t that bad.

We hold a quiz night and always have the food from codland. For about 30 people and it is always hot and good portion size and everyone said the food was great.

We ordered 58 fish and chips for Lancaster Court and such a pleasure to deal with. They delivered the order on time. Freshly cooked & generous portions but most importantly tasted delicious all the residents enjoyed the food. Family members were present and also gave nice review of the food. Expensive but worth it. I had a large cod and chips. The cod was big, a bit oily and dry at the end but overall okay. The chips were the best I have tasted in Watford. I have had this meal across Watford and it was most expensive here.

Went on a Friday evening, incredibly busy but they were so organised….we queued, ordered & left with our fish & chips in under 20 minutes. Great food, hot chips, crispy batter on good fish. Fabulous!

One of the best fish and chip places around. They do not skimp when it comes to the portions of fish. Also do excellent kebabs.

Where can i start. This has to be one of the most divine establishments i have ever visited. The chips were cooked to perfection and the regular cod was mouth wateringly good. The prices are extremely reasonable compared to quality of food. If you ever have a crave for quality fish and chips then this is the place for you. Workers are very polite and the kebab is also very tender.

A frequent stop for us for a treat. Great fresh and hot food. A good choice of items from fish to kebabs, pies etc.. The staff are helpful and friendly and there is always a queue on a Friday night.

Went for a walk, fancied a portion of chips, bought them, ate them while walking. Lovely, crisp and tasty....just the thing for a winter's walk snack. Will try a larger meal next time.

This was brilliant. We had kebabs and they were enormous and tasted lovely.

Tried this chip shop out after a friend recommended it to me. It’s great. Really good sized portions and a knowledgeable owner. Told me about the new season potato’s they were using and gave us some new fish bites for free to try out as they were new on the menu. Will be using Codland regularly from now on

fantastic staff nice clean premises the food is really fresh and delicious they have a good selection of food to choose from would highly recommend trying codland .

Disappointed that there is no 0 star rating that I can leave, because this “ takeaway ” deserves it. Bought food here about 10 times which of 3 I got food poisoning. Last time it was so bad I was ill for 4 days. Went to check the back area of a shop after closing hours in the evening , quality of a smell was terrible, I wouldn’t be surprised if they kept dead bodies in those freezers. Never ever buy food here again and hope this place gets shut down ASAP. It’s so foolish of me that my children have tried their food. Yes this chip chop is busy and there is always a queue at the moment. I don’t normally leave reviews but this, might just save someone’s life. P.S. Reported to Watford council as well, this place needs to be definitely checked out.

Impressed with quality of fish and chips. Had a large cod - really was BIG. They cooked it fresh and the chips. Would have given 5 stars, but it was only my first time, will try a few more times to ensure consistency! Certainly recommended!

calls it self codland and the cod sold as such is coale as per what you give cats-as for the chips they are half cooked and then put into the fat-- i suppose youngsters do not know the diff!!!!

wicked chip-shop. I drove from central Watford just to get to this chip shop, and i wasnt disappointed. I order a medium cod and a large chips and a kids chicken nuggets and chips and curry sauce . Well the medium fish was so big, i and my misus split it and the chips never got finished and my son, seemed to enjoy his. customer service was 5/5 cleanliness : 4/5 Food : 5/5 All staff members had on a mask which was very good to see.

I absolutely love Codland!Food - The fish is cooked very well and usually made to order. Rarely do you find an old piece of fish lying in the hot window. As such it always tastes fresh. Portion wise they can't be beaten. Their medium cod would be classed a large cod in many other fish and chip restaurants. And their large cod struggles to fit on a plate. Their chips are the best too. My wife is not huge on chips, but insists I go large if I'm getting a Codland. It's one of the only things that breaks her when she's on one of these carb free diets too. The chips are blanched or something first before being cooked fresh to order. They have a crisper outside and soft inside which can't be beaten by any chip shop around Watford, and trust me I've tried a few.The kebabs are great and another favourite is the chicken fillet burger.Staff/Service - Very friendly staff that operate as fast as possible and will have a bit of banter with familiar faces. Very polite and professional. Whenever I go with the kids they always give them a lollipop each which helps keep them quiet if we have to wait.It did used to be cash only which was frustrating but there is a cash machine 20m away. However, they now take card which is much more convenient.One snag is they don't deliver. They're not on any of the popular ordering apps, it they say its because they think it compromises quality.Because it's so good, Fridays and Saturdays are always super busy so be prepared to wait a bit. Though they do take phone orders for pick up which I'd recommend as it deffo helps reduce your waiting time.I have two other chip shops that are closer to me but we always go here. Highly recommend, you won't be dissapointed.

This place is my first choice restaurant. Of all restaurants I know I prefere it most. I never miss an opportunity to go to visit this place. everytime I I need a delicious meal, this place comes straight to my head. fresh and all sorts of food and a rich cuisine.well mannered team, and great atmosphere. Not less important, the pay is reasonable. I recommend this restaurant with great pleasure.

Thought we would give it a go after a family recommendation. We only ordered 2 small cod ......it filled the plate! I hate to see what a large looks like! Recently moved to the area went to this chip shop my god it is the best in the country the chips are the best I’ve ever had without a doubt and the chicken burgers was cooked to perfection been the bread and the salad was sooo fresh all clean and tidy nice staff
