Outstanding service. I say go for the Donner meat and chips You need a bank loan for a large cod and chips. If you have a can of coke (£1.30) no change out of £20. They do not do meal deals or free delivery.

More of a takeaway or delivery than a restaurant, The Viking Fish and Chips has some seating for dine-in customers. However, we stopped off for a meal of good ol' fish and chips and we weren't disappointed. I went into the establishment and made my order. Two fish and chips, tartare sauce and mushy peas. While I was waiting and watching the gents (Kashmiri, with the requisite sense of humour) were close to overwhelmed with the number of orders being prepared. There's an old expression from Australia that goes: "Busier than a one-armed cab driver with a bad case of the crabs." This was certainly the case at The Viking Fish and Chips. The food was delicious. The Cod cooked to perfection, the chips crispy with some scraps. Totally enjoyable and filling. Highly recommended.

Ordered the Viking Special including salad items to be included in special. It arrived without salad included. I also ordered a side salad separately so they clearly didn’t understand the order.

Don't get poisoned here! Avoid at all costs...

I like ordering from here for chicken nuggets and chips with Apple Tango.

Viking chip shop, I've been going there on and off for years, and the standards have always been high, and there chicken shish kebabs They are great and always fresh chips. 5☆.

Always used to come here when in Watford and it was always good. But now it's another business where the price has gone up and the quality gone down. Hard chips, had to bin nearly half of them due to the amount with black eyes

I received a burger, but it was missing the lettuce, and it had red sauce on it . I don't eat red sauce. it's a shame cause this is the only place I come for my burgers as they are so nice.

Placed an order online for delivery, received two confirmation emails and then after over an hour of waiting phoned to check. They said they’d cancelled my order without notifying me. Terrible service.

Really nice chips and sausage was missing a curry sauce but they dropped it straight away

Food was cold. Delivery was late. Curry sauce was so thin it may as well have been water and had no taste. Mushy peas portion could probably not have been smaller. Fish poorly (over)cooked. Waste of my money.

They have a Halal sign, but they also have non halal stuff on the menu. Please ask before ordering for Halal stuff.

Big portions. Some of order was missing but this was dealt with very quickly and was worth the wait.

Pretty solid overall, but stay WELL clear of the chili sauce, it's not chilli sauce it's basically ketchup

1 star psml lucky there isnt a zero as thats all u would be getting after my order was 25mins late then turn up with What absolute garbage u call food being cold stale having to microwave your food to edible temperature after waiting past delivery time isnt what people expect paying you thier money won't be wasting my custom here again

The food was very nice unfortunately I was charged £140 for a £32 delivery as their online booking system was faulty.

Fish was lovely. But the chips saturated in oil which was not pleasant.

Missing a slice lemon,or a deep but fish and chips nice.

Unfortunately the food was cold and tasted like it was cooked a while ago. Definitely not fresh. Disappointed as I buy from The Vikings quite often (usually I pop in and order so I know the food is fresh) but this time decided to order through this app. I’ll stick to going in rather than using the app, which I assume they try to use to get rid off any old food not sold.

The food was awful. Ordered large Cod but it was tiny, oily and not cooked fresh. Cold soggy chips that were not fresh. Had to throw the food away. Really disappointed as food is usually decent from here.

Probably in the Top3 best takeaways In Watford. Extremely efficient staff and service is top quality. Food never disappoints. Price reflects the quality of the food so is more pricey compared to some of the competition but worth paying extra for quality food.

I ordered food from just eat. The Viking has two shops. It's not clear which one is which. I went to North Watford to find my order had gone to Holywell ( the other end of town) . Staff were unhelpful. In fact when I got to Holywell they were laughing about it. I have been a customer of the Viking for years. But no more

Can't submit ratings without includung "Restauranbt service" which was irrelevant. Hence 1 Star which will impact adversely on the business. Sort it out and make "Restaurant service" .....if applicable.

Fish batter was horrible thick full of oil soggy and wet. Chips were below average so incredibly mediocre. Skin on the fish just makes it all even worse. Curry sauce was something out of an unmixed pot noodle watery but clumpy and tasteless. Chips had no flavour. Definitely not fresh. Don’t recommend one bit.

Was recommended to me by the Pastor of the Soul Survivor church - and indeed the Kebab was excellent. The staff also came across as both friendly and enthusiastic.

When I order a large cod,they very often send 2 small ones instead. When I order large it is for freshness and thickness of fish not the quantity. Please send me what I ask for. I don't really want to shop elsewhere.

You could have great food as delicious fish & chip, kebab that we ordered today. All of us even my twin boys love the food there. The shop boss Ijaz and tje staff are kindly, considerate with great service. It is amazed by this small restaurant with great food and service. Definitely will be there again!

I’ve used Viking before and very pleased but I’m afraid this order was not up to their usual standard. Fish was good but chips and burger were rather dry. Delivered on time.

Driver was rude when delivering did not ring doorbell. Instead of a pineapple fritter it was onion which one of us is allergic.

As a Dutchman I still think you Brits don’t know how to cook your chips, but I really enjoyed this little fish and chips place. Kind people, fast service and overall a good experience. There even was mayonaise for my chips! In the back of the shop there are a few seats for eating in. Handy!

Chips were ordered as a separate item yet they were put in the same box as the fish and a lot less quantity than if wrapped individually. It’s a shame as the Viking has been a favourite of mine for over 30 years but this is just a rip off.

The food came in boxes so it wasn’t squashed or sweating We ordered cod and chips and and a donar kebab, I left a note in the special instructions because I didn’t want pitta and they very kindly didn’t give me the pitta Definitely ordering from them again big thumbs up

Chips were cold and the veg was very burnt .not nice

The cod was almost half of the quantity!
