It was my first time there very good service polite and did not have to wait long for food and it was very nice definitely will go again.

Best chip shop in Newmarket!!! The food is always really good not greasy like some chip shops. You get plenty of food for your money and the employees are always smiling 🙂. It’s always busy too which is a good sign . Would highly recommend

Terrible fish yesterday....ordered a mini cod and chips....perfect, also a medium cod and chips....the fish was awful! The batter was not golden like the small piece, it was dark and so hard you could hardly cut it....with dried up fish inside! Absolutely terrible, especially when you've looked forward to eating it! We love this chippy, but it's definitely put us off. You'd think as it was wrapped the staff would also see how bad it looked, we did as soon as we unwrapped it! It must have been sitting there waiting to be sold for hours in the heater...the small cod was freshly cooked when i ordered it. I know they were busy, but you still expect the same quality! Definitely not worth the money and disappointing. Nice curry sauce though, but couldn't do anything to perk up the dry fish and hard batter!

We don't go there often but I have been going there for at least 8 years and the fish and chips is always great. The staff are always friendly and the queue doesn't last long

First time getting there fish and chips and have to say they are the best ive had and the most friendly staff all spoke to my 2yr old little girl i think ive found my new fav chippy highly recommend

Really, really good. Rarely eat Fish and Chips but if I lived near Valley Way I would definitely be a regular! If you haven't tried them, you should. Food was excellent and good value. Date of visit: March 2023

Fish was nice along with chips and scallops and staff was nice and there was no plastic involved which make the paper packaging eco friendly.

Unfortunately I brought 2 portions of fish and chips from this take away fish & chip shop , 1 senior and 1 large fish & Chips and when I returned home to eat this take away the fish was all batter with a thin layer of Cod in the middle not even enough fish to make a small portion. It was also so greasy so when you cut the fish the grease would be drippy out and the chips were just warm . This shop is only a five minute drive from my house so I would expect the meal to be hot . I estimate I had to throw 60% of the meal away because it had far to much thick batter on the fish and because it was to greasy and the chips being to cold . Will not return

Best chip shop you will ever go to in the UK you can't beat the quality, the staffs friendliness, and the large variety. The price is great and the portion sizes are great. There isn't a chips hop I'd rather go to

What not to like about this incredibly popular fishy and chip shop. You can phone and order ahead, or order in shop. Be prepared for a few minutes wait if you go at a busy time. Everything is prepared fresh as you order. Staff always friendly. Dogs not allowed inside, but they will kindly bring your order to the door for you if you do happen to have your dog with you (although obviously not ideal scenario for them when they're super busy). Highly recommend their fish and chips, others in the family like the battered sausages. Other items, like pies, sauces and soft drinks also available. You can always pop into the little shop next door for anything else you might need whilst your food is being cooked. Parking on street - be patient and you'll normally find a spot quickly. Probably the best (and oldest?) chippy in Newmarket.

Best cod and chips in Newmarket or probably most of Suffolk. Portions are huge and the cod is always fresh, white and flaky with that seaside taste and the chips are simply the best!

Went there yesterday lunchtime on a visit to Newmarket , large cod was enormous and great flaky fish, service good and with a smile. Would recommend.

1st try "whale and chips": One of the few places I've seen recently that sell rock eel. Unfortunately sold out today so tried 3 large cod instead. Size was more like 6 large cods, massive portions! Cod was fantastic, white and flakey and just fell apart. Matched with the great service, 10/10 will definitely be coming back again.

Went here after they provided free school meals during October half term, as i think its important to support business when they have supported others. Im so glad I did. Probably the best fish and chips I've eaten in years. Not greasey and very meaty cod, fab chips too. Still pipping hot after driving 7 miles home 😀

I would say they always greet with a smile but with the current situation and the masks covering there faces you never know 😁 they always seem very happy with there work and are happy to handle requests with altering your order the price is good the food is great but most of all that keeps our custom is the second to none customer service.
