We have been recommended by a friend and I have to say that we loved it. At first we were surprised by having to eat the typical bread with our hands, but you get used to it quickly. We also wanted to try the Ethiopian coffee, seeing what the "ceremony" they do for you is like. It is a coffee with a stronger taste than the typical English ones, but somewhat less than in Spain. The service has been fantastic and they have been very attentive to us, just mentioning that it is quite slow, so you have to go slowly to eat.

I went to Nando’s this afternoon for lunch,it was quite busy but we were still served quite quickly. The staff are friendly. I tried the Fanta x Nando’s 1/4 chicken. It was a lovely pairing, the chicken was delicious and cooked really well. The Fanta sauce was delicious too,it was fruity and not spicy in the slightest. Tbh,I haven’t had that many of the sauces at Nando’s because I tend to go for lemon and herb but now because I loved the Fanta x Nando’s sauce I’m not sure what I will go for next time. The chips were tasty and the mash was creamy and yummy. The portion was reasonable and the presentation was fantastic. They also offer a great gluten free range of options here too. The decor in here is lovely too. I would highly recommend this branch for a post Cinema, during shopping or a post bowling meal(Hollywood Bowl opens in a couple of months in the Chimes shopping centre). This place does get busy so don’t be disappointed if you can’t get a table but fortunately there are other restaurants such as Wagamama,Bella Italia,Morello Lounge and more within walking distance. If you aren’t able to get a table and the sweet tooth wants to be more active in the decision I would recommend Gooey Waffle or Creams Cafe(both on Belmont Road near the Bus station),both places serve up fantastic desserts. It is located just outside the Chimes shopping centre by the exit of TK MAXX.

This use to be my go to restaurant on a Friday. I was here last Friday, I ordered fried yam, the sauce was excessively spicy, I have ordered this multiple times before with no issues. The food was ok, large portions, I asked for a container for my left overs and was charged £1.50 for 1 container. This has never been the case in the past. The manager seem to be in a bad mood, there was no sign to say we will charge you for container. I will not be returning here, I will be exploring other African restaurants for my Friday outings.

Disappointed & Let Down – Won’t Be Returning We visited this restaurant yesterday after a friend recommended it, and we made the trip all the way from Canary Wharf expecting a nice meal and good vibes. Unfortunately, while the food itself was decent, the customer service absolutely ruined the experience. The woman who served us made it very clear she didn’t want to be there — and made us feel the same. From the moment we walked in, her attitude was cold, unwelcoming, and borderline rude. Asking her simple questions felt like we were bothering her, and every interaction was met with a miserable expression and complete lack of professionalism. We genuinely considered walking out, but having driven all that way with our two small kids, we decided to stay — something we now regret. To make things worse, we weren’t told until the very end that it’s a cash-only establishment. That kind of important information should be clearly communicated before the order is taken — not after we’ve eaten. When my husband expressed his frustration about this, the server interrupted him mid-sentence, took the money, and literally walked away while he was still speaking. Incredibly rude and disrespectful. We weren’t looking for a confrontation, just some basic courtesy and communication. After reading other reviews, it’s clear we’re not the only ones who’ve experienced this poor treatment. The same person has been mentioned before, which makes me wonder how or why she’s still working there. Family connection, maybe? Regardless, we won’t be coming back — no meal is worth that kind of treatment. If the management cares about their reputation, they should seriously reconsider who they allow to represent their business.
