It was enjoyment guaranteed. A place to meet and have a good night and time. Laugh is sure, the service is second to non. When outside was cold,raining, full of Fog our hearts were warmed with laughter, good food and drink and meeting of old friends and making new friends. I can't wait to go again.

The club kicks off about midnight, the djs are good & drinks are averagely priced. Slightly out of the way from the city centre of Manchester.

The lady at the bar was giving us bare attitude for no reason even when we we're trying to be nice.

There was an artist on so we arrived early. The place was quiet but all the tables were reserved. We were pointed towards a booth in a corner at the opposite end of the room. After 5 minutes seated, I was asked to move to beside my friend as opposed to opposite her. We left within 45 minutes of arriving and the reserved tables were still empty. Maybe allow people to sit at empty tables until those guests arrive so that we are included, instead of being made to feel like an inconvenience and outcasts..

Supper tasty the delivery was very quick the portions are good size fairly reasonable price

Wonderful atmosphere, DJ took me back home with Gbedu to Yapayaski. Security men are on top of their jobs. Convenience is clean

I am still waiting for my food to be delivered. I do not know what is going on. This is over 3hrs. Where is my food?

Please don’t go there with your kin, I went there with my husband on a date I was attacked by the security guards over the fact that I had a tea mug with me and I was bleeding all over, that same day another married woman and her husband were attacked too. The only thing that the owner has to say is that I was under alcohol intoxication and that I was trying to smuggle alcohol into the bar that’s the reason I was attacked by them. I’m advising anyone going there to have a camera recording like your phone or anything as such before going through the gate but I’d advise to stay away from that place for your own safety.

Absolutely terrible and will not be ordering from just eat ever again

I had a feel of Nigeria night club, it was amazing and awesome. Reserving tables before coming makes it more beautiful.

We had a mini-reunion at Roots Restaurant. We were received very warmly and our request for private area for 22 was quickly provided. The food was exceptional, delicious and very generous portions. We all tried each other’s meal and I tasted Nkwobi for the first time- Roots have set the standard for any future Nkwobi I will have. Being an alumnus of the same Medical college, uncle Bodun, as the staff call him, stopped by to say hello and surprised us with a gift on the house, Thank you! My pepper soup was just as I requested! I very reluctantly shared my puff puff, still I was so full I had to pack my main dish home with me. The ambiance was relaxing, the staff attentive and courteous. We thoroughly had a memorable time. I highly recommend a visit.

Delicious, love their jellof rice

The food is good and the atmosphere is amazing. This is the best Nigeria restaurant I have ever visited. Unlike many Nigeria restaurants, I really enjoy their service with relaxing music. It is devoid of the many noise and rowdiness you see in some Nigeria restaurants. I saw several English people coming to relax and enjoy nice wine. I will recommend this again and again to anyone looking for a nice place to go have a good time. Surely, there is always room for improvement. I hope the management keeps making the necessary improvement to make it a world-class place not only for Nigerians but also for all strata of people to come relax and enjoy.

Nice African restaurant and club

It was a group trip at the club and we booked the vip area, it was really hot, I got sick during the party, no ventilation, no fan. And they kept bringing people into the vip area, so it was packed

This is the worst soup i have had from root. The Ogbono is not cooked. Not just good at all. I have had your bitterleaf and oha and they are good. Won’t be ordering ogbono soup from you

Visited here yesterday, Amazing customer service 10/10 and the food was everything i wanted and more. Very tasty, satisfying definitely had to take some home. Would definitely come again whenever i visit Manchester again.

The staff are great ambience is great, but the customer service is bad, the manager also does preferential treatment, which is bad, the restaurant needs a good club PR, the manager can't be the same as the PR.

I usually just get suya when I visit. Each time I go it comes slightly different, but i don't mind too. I do prefer to have more fresh salad, one piece of tomatoe wasn't enough.

I was told about root and had to visit with a friend, It was fun until we were berated out of seats. I felt embarrassed appealing to the service guy. His only excuse is that the place is reserved having lots of reserved seats there with no one on them. We could couldn't find a place to seat. My day was ruined and I had to stay outside until we left.

The rice is very good but the sauce is very bitter it takes like it is undone

Sent the completely wrong meal asked for chicken, got beef. Then no support from just eat to get money back as email trying to respond to does not work! Waste of time and money

Roots is the best African Restaurant in Manchester. I love their Peppered goat meat most and it always exceeds my expectations. I highly recommend that you try it. I do two portions of peppered goat meat together fried plantain.

Given the usual Roots quality I’m used to, the Ayamase was a huge disappointment. The Ayamase was just water, green peppers and some locust beans. Terrible and tasteless.

There was no jollof rice, fried rice and various items on the menu were unavailable. Only certain dishes were available and the egusi was very salty. The toilets also were grim and looked very unkept. I won’t be recommending as I brought a guest and left very disappointed in the state.

The soups (okro, efo riro, edikaikon) we got from here were poorly made. They looked and tasted poor. The jollof rice was really good. The sugar and peppersoup was also good. The service was good.

The waitress was very polite and gave us good recommendations. It was some of our first times trying African food and we were not disappointed. The goats head, while sounding disgusting, was the most delicious dish of them all. All the dishes we tried were unique. Very good experience, thank you.

The food was never delivered and contacting Just eat was impossible, I had to email them but no reply. I contacted the restaurant but they stated they can’t help either. My money gone but no food. I have seen some reviews now that just eat are scammers, taken your money but don’t deliver on their promise.

Food was complete rubbish. The meat was not cooked well and couldn’t eat it. Customer service was a total disgrace and unprofessional. Total Rubbish and a waste of money.

Very very very bad place to go to. The woman at the bar and the guy moving around very rude and arrogant beings making customers feel as if they are inconveniencing them. I was asking the lady what the jollof rice is served with, she answered with her back turned on me as if we had argued. My boyfriend ordered soup and he asked for water to wash hands as other restaurants do and the guy answered in a very very rude manner instead of just teliing him that there is a tap for washing hands. I ordered whisky on the rocks, the rude arrogant boss lady brought it with no ice and sort of banged it on my table, fortunately they younger waitresss added ice for me. My experience at this restaurant was very bad and i don't ever want to come back here again despite their okay being okay Africans, work on your customer service approach, this is poor on all angles!

Great atmospheric condition to have a chilled Friday and the weekend. Amazing staff members and beautiful musical combinations from their outstanding Disc Jokey. Would recommend and also visit again.

I and my friends from Ireland and Liverpool were reffered to this restuarant by a friend only to be turned away because of dress code. Tried to explain that we didnt know but the security guys were hostile. The website does even not state the dress code. We left after just buying drinks when they later decided to let us in. Will not refer anyone to this restuant.

Great environment to celebrate with friends, chic and beautiful hang out spot.

The DJ was great, Variety of songs, the service of the bar was deplorable, there was 5 ladies working the bar and it was not crowded but it took 20 minutes to get drinks.

I ordered 3 soups and peppered goat meat. This restuarant only brought the soup and skipped the peppered goat meat. By the time i found out about this, the restaurant was already closed and cant be bothered calling the next day. Very appalling.

I don't think this place for everyone I mean not for white or Asian people

I've been to Roots previously but this visit was something else. I came on Saturday and despite place being almost empty (2 tables were taken) I was told they got nowhere to sit me down for a meal. Eventually after explaining that I travelled for over an hour I was sat down at dirty table and handed menu. It took staff 40 minutes to come and take my order despite having just 2 other tables to serve. I was made feel very unwelcome and like I was inconvenience. Next time am in Manchester I'll be stopping at different African restaurant.
