what lovely place the foods is very delicious traditional Sudanese dishes and the coffee ☕ is smelling very nice and strong

Finally managed to return to Sudanese House Cafe for some food. There was no menu but we were told some of the options & that the dishes were around £7 each. We ordered a lamb dish, an okra dish, as well as a tripe dish. When the food came, it was a dazzling array! Lamb cubes (sheya/ shaiyah) were served alongside a lentil dish topped with tomatoes & onions, which was our fave. We were given 2 okra dishes (bamia/ bamya), both with lamb though one was blended okra so it had an odd, gloopy texture which needed some getting used to! We liked the chewy texture of the tripe (gamanya/ kamunia) which was in a tomatoey sauce which was very tasty & slightly sweet. There was a really spicy & tasty chilli sauce on the side which had a peanutty flavour. The dishes were served with four large breads as well as kisra - the thin sorghum pancakes. We really enjoyed the food though they were lukewarm as had been pre cooked and reheated. People were very nice & friendly & wrote down for us what we had ordered so we knew the names of the dishes. It was fairly quiet when we arrived before 12 but got busier with a number of people stopping by for drinks, food & takeaway. When we went to pay, we were surprised it came up to £22 as it was a steal for the amount of food we had!! A really nice Nice hidden gem in Moss Side. Definitely worth a visit! We will be back!!

Visited this Sudanese cafe after watching a YouTube video. It was quite quiet when we went before lunch on a Friday & there were about 3 other people in. Ordered a coffee and a couple of pastries which came up to £7. The coffee was served in the cutest little flask & had a strong ginger flavour which was really nice & great for the cold weather. The pastries were soaked in syrup but were different from baklava as the pastry was soft rather than crisp. Both of what we tried was interesting but we preferred the triangular one filled with peanuts. Very yummy! Staff were nice & we would love to return to try their cooked food. Definitely worth visiting!

A meeting place for Sudanse youth and the place to sell Sudanese popular foods and sweets at reasonable prices, in fact ,it is more than wonderful place

It really authentic and scrumptious food.

Lovely meal. I would recommend the kamonia and tea. I absolutely loved the rich smell of coffee in the air.

It’s a fantastic place to eat & drink peacefully on top of that you can also watch football matches. I would highly recommend it to everyone.
