First time going to Enish with my friend and never again! My friend was excited to eat Nigerian food for the first time, since we were in South Croydon, we decided to pop in. It was empty (5.30ish) so we were allowed to choose where to sit. Once seated, we viewed the menu, contemplating what to order. We realised we had been sitting for some when two ladies came in were seated and a waiter promptly appeared and proceeded to take their order. It was at this point we decided we no longer wanted to eat there and got up leave. Not once were we approached or asked why we're leaving. They obviously didn't want us there for some reason!

Absolutely disappointed by the service, the white guy working there is absolutely rude from the begging to the end. First when we entered the restaurant the girl wasn’t aware we had reservation, he had to come and ask the same stupid questions as her and clearly no one was aware about our booking. The girl who also was assisting us when she was asked for something just ignored us. At the restraint was very very hot and no AC at this weather ….. when we ask if they can turn on the AC of course was some look at us and then she said something no one knows what but still no AC. There was another young boy who served us he was amazing. Talking rude to customers who are regular and loyal to Enish and years after been visiting and ordering food from Enish that was my last time and obviously last time order food online or visit. When my food was taken away even I asked the waiter can you not take plates while people are outside I was disappointed to come back and my food was missing when I asked where is my plate that silly guy came to tell me yeah it’s been taken away because you didn’t have much. I said I made a request not to be taken and he was still explaining to me that there is not much food left. So he offered to bring a new meal and I agreed. When he came he slide the plate to me with the words - Here you go that’s the rest of your food. And yes when I look at the plate that’s was a joke I had less than I left at the first time. I have never seen that before when a waiter offer the replace your mail to bring 2 bites for compensation. Well done Enish I had the worst experience and after nearly 5 years of loyalty and my family been enjoying your food. It’s time to goodbye and try new Nigerian restaurants.

Do not use your credit/debit card here unless you want to risk having those details taken and used on a spending spree- someone behind the counter is taking card info and the restaurant do not care to investigate. My girlfriend paid for a meal here before heading abroad, it was her only time using that card that week and all of a sudden (the very next day) random charges started popping up around London, while she was literally on a flight.

I’m absolutely shocked. I have been to every Enish in South London and haven’t been this disappointed. I order the same Egusi and was sad to taste Croydon did not serve the same quality as others. Service was ok. I live by Enish Africa on Old Kent Road so wasn’t expecting the same aesthetics but I hoped for the same good Enish Egusi soup. Very watered down. I’ll take it home for the first time and season it myself. Even the Jollof lacked flavour.

Inconsistent Quality of Egusi Soup; Mixed Experiences I have frequented Enish Croydon delivery service three times now, primarily for their egusi soup. The first experience left me delighted with its delicious taste. However, my subsequent visits were disappointing, to say the least. On my second and third orders, the egusi soup was excessively oily and practically inedible. Regrettably, I had to discard it due to concerns about food quality and health implications. This inconsistency in food quality is concerning and discourages repeat patronage. Despite my disappointing experiences at Enish Croydon, I must acknowledge my positive encounters with Enish Old Kent Road and their Dubai branch. Dining in at these locations has consistently been a pleasant experience, with satisfactory food quality and service. In conclusion, while I've had mixed experiences with Enish establishments, I hope that Enish Croydon can address their issues with food consistency to maintain their reputation for serving delicious Nigerian cuisine. (Note: This review is based on my personal experiences and may not reflect the opinions of others.)

Yesterday was my first time ordering food from Enish, the food taste was the worst food I have ever tasted in my life and London. The soup was tasteless and smelled like uncooked tomatoes, the smoked fish was hard and uncooked, the edikaikong tasted of plain palm oil, with no taste of the season or salt and the moimoi was salty. The only thing they got right was the ewedu. I regret spending £64 on food I couldn't eat. Whoever cooked on the 17th of February 2024 food needs to be arrested. 😡

POOR, DISAPPOINTING SERVICE. I don’t recommend! We arrived on Friday at 1pm. restaurant was completely empty, we asked if the 2 of us could sit at a table for 4 to get some additional space for the dishes. The woman abruptly told us No, she said as it’s the weekend, we will have to take the table for 2. Usually a restaurant host will check the bookings and see if they can accommodate the customer’s request. The woman didn’t do this, she seemed more interested in looking at her mobile as she remained sitting down, she didn’t bother to get up & greet us. She wasn’t friendly in any way. I took 2 photos and explained that I would be writing a review of my experience on GOOGLE, I added, that I thought it wasn’t kind of her to refuse our request when the restaurant was clearly empty of customers. it is only then that she said we could sit at the table for 4. We decided to have lunch elsewhere as we didn’t feel welcome and so had lunch at a lovely restaurant on the same street.

The beef, rice and sauce was great, recommend, after many complaints neither the chef nor the manager came to talk to us, poor waitress has to deal with all the complaints, overall I would say disappointing service from the manager and chef.

Now far too expensive for what you get. In some cases, compared to other Nigeria restaurants, you sometimes pay double the price for the same food offering. For what??? It is a Nigerian restaurant for goodness sake! Thankfully there are much cheaper ones on the same road (in Croydon) offering better quality at much cheaper prices. I no longer patronise Enish, period. Who pays £32 for tilapia pepper soup???? Be advised, check the prices online before you visit.

Enish resturant from a visiting African perspective is an Oasis of familiar food cooked to a satisfactory level away from origin. The preparation time was elongated, this could be attributed to order frequency evident by the unending delivery pickups. Seating area is compact and might be tight in a full seating scenario. Ultimately the food was good and overall if the budget isn't a priority, a good experience.

Ordered a takeaway from here. Had quite high hopes as I’ve heard good things and always enjoy the Nigerian food I’ve had at various Central London food stalls and at Nigerian weddings. First thing that I was a bit put off by were the prices. £21 upwards for a soup/stew meal and £24 upwards for a rice meal. I assumed that, given the prices, these were perhaps going to arrive packed in large trays, with one meal being enough for two/three people. Oh how wrong I was! The egusi soup (beef) with pounded yam came in a bog standard sized takeaway container! Wasn’t even that tasty, and at £21 I was expecting way more, both in terms of flavour and quantity! Jollof rice with plantain and assorted goat didn’t fair much better. Again, whopping priced at £24 but rice and small portion of plantain came in a bog standard container size, with a separate, half filled container of chewy goat meat. Overall I was very underwhelmed and cannot for the life of me fathom why the owners/management of this establishment think they’ve got their pricing strategy correct. Certainly won’t be visiting again and had it not been for the Uber Eats discount running at the time I’d have probably called the restaurant to complain!! Unless you like to pay significantly over the odds for, at best, mediocre food then don’t bother with Enish. Certainly not takeaway…

On numerous occasions upon several reviews, it is evident that your takeaway meals are not fresh, poorly presented and reduced size portion. It is now becoming a scam!!! For example the grilled fish is small but packaged as large and taste stale sometimes, fried plaintain is always suggy as takeaways and also tasteless, Fried yam is always looking brown and sometimes stale. This has to be the lowest star I've ever given at a restaurant, I was extremely disappointed in the food, ambience and service😞 the only thing that was nice was the one and only mocktail on offer and the moimoi. I ordered a beef suya following recommendations from African friends, I don't know if it is tradition to use low quality old meat when cooking Nigerian dishes as this is not the first time I've experienced this but the beef was so chewy to the point I had give up chewing and swallow the whole piece of meat and wash it down with water. The portion size were tiny, Suya is £13 and served in a side plate which is just as well as I could not finish it anyway. The jollof rice was standard I think it lacked something but I cannot put my hands on it. Service was slow as they recieve many takeaway orders and seem to prioritise thise also don't expect any smiles. Decor was basic and entertainment non existent with a buffering youtube playlist on a large screen tv. A DJ playing afrobeats would have been more fitting on a Friday evening.

Well I decided to try it out and I can say for the first time that I would order again from a restaurant that's more expensive compared to other restaurants. I ordered jollof rice with goats meat and it was lovely. I paid £18 for it which is much higher compared to what I usually pay, but the portion size was really good plus the food quality was great. They package the food really well, the goats meat, rice and plantain was brilliant. I did order a cows foot spicy soup type meal, the soup was great but the cows foot is not for me. I will definitely order here again, lovely food.

I visited the Croydon Branch for the first time with a group of friends. I had the lamb Suya with plaintain. We all ordered different mains, an assortment of starters and mocktails. I've had Suya in Nigeria so I was very sceptical of the quality I was going to receive. However I was more than pleasantly surprised. Everyone in my group of friends were also very happy with their meals. I look forward to dining at the Ilford branch. The customer service from Edi and her colleague was excellent! I even met one of the chefs who was so pleasant and polite. Excellent dining experience.

Jollof rice was basic to be completely honest, I was extremely disappointed. One small container was £9 and not worth the money in the slightest, would not recommend

Ordered rice meal with assorted meat, meat was so tough my jaw and teeth hurt. Tasted like your eating a shoe. Jollof rice taste burnt. Very expensive thought it’s extortion. Beer cost from£8.99!

The food and especially the drinks (£8-9 for a beer) were overpriced. The meat was very tough to chew and of poor quality. Even the jollof rice tasted burnt. On the plus side, the spices and sauce were pretty good for the dishes we ordered and the service was efficient.

Lovely meal and excellent customer service. Sometimes you might have to wait a little for the meal to arrive (depends on how busy they are), but when it does it will worth the wait. Fantastic Nigerian cuisines.

I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves good food :) Great for family and friends. The jollof rice was amazing as was the beef suya & the chicken wings. The sauce with the wings was amazing as well! I especially loved the plantain (not pictured). The spice level and portion sizes were great value for money. The service was 10/10. Thank you so much to Edi, you were so kind and attentive. We felt very welcome.

Unfortunately after enjoying food from them for a while now I've had to make the decision to stop due to the significant price increase. Sorry guys but wish you all the best. Goodbye

A friend and I went in @ 5.30 on a Saturday. We weren't shown a menu or prices. We considered the waiter helpful and friendly as he talked us through our options. We ordered 2 medium size meals, 1 bottle of beer & 1 bottle of water. It is more a cafe than a restaurant. The food was cheap cafe standard. We were charged £50 & the waiter refused to let us see a menu or drinks prices. £20 would have been a fair price. .

I went here yoday and was highly disappointed. I drove 45 mins to get here for the fried snapper I have always come for. The fish tasted stale. It was nowhere near fresh. It was rubbery with a distinct after taste. When I took the garnish off and saw the scales, I couldn't eat another bite. What happened? I know it closed for a while but this is ridiculous. I've never seen it this empty on a Friday night. Since they served our food, they haven't come back to the table, are they avoiding us????
