Excellent atmosphere, very busy, which is a good sign. Staff were very friendly along with most of the customers. Just had coffee which was delicious. Would recommend.
Mother’s Day treat and what a treat it was . 14of us, 9 adults, lovely warm welcome, excellent food, brilliant service, plenty of choice, definitely recommend, thank you so much
On the 19th January we arrived at Lamingtons tea rooms for a pre booked afternoon tea for myself, my Dad, brother, sister in law and sister. It was a difficult day for us being a year to date our mum had suddenly passed away.
We wanted to remember her and knew she always loved a cream tea.
After hearing such good reviews about Lamingtons we decided to take the plunge and book on a Sunday afternoon.
Well from start to finish our experience was absolutely fantastic, we were met by the lovely Mark who introduced himself to us, so welcoming we were greated like old friends.
We were sat at a large round table at the front, where we could admire the beautiful decor of the tea room.
We were offered a non alcoholic
Prosecco which was absolutely delicious and you would never have known it was alcohol free!
Well when the afternoon tea came out we were taken back how delicious it looked so much variety , one of us had a gluten free version and you would not have known the difference it was so nice to see the gluten free person wasn’t missing out with limited choice.
Well the food was so delicious so fresh and so plentiful, the teapot was kept filled up by Mark too and he kept an eye on us making sure everything was ok and popping over to talk to us.
I cannot say how fantastic this place is, such a gem and we cannot wait to come back, oh and a big shout out to whoever was in the kitchen preparing all the delicious food.
Well. I'm 62 years old and been eating bacon sandwiches all my life. I have got to say that the Bacon and black pudding sandwich I had at this lovely little cafe was the best I have EVER had!! Ok it was £8 but the home made bread,3 rashers of dry cured back bacon and a nice slice of Doreen's black pudding was marvellous. My wife also had the most amazing gluten free chocolate torte. Staff were also very attentive and friendly. Will definitely be going back very soon .
Never eaten here before but the food was amazing. 2 roast dinners were to die for, and scampi & fries was excellent.
Great service from Lucy and the young waitress. Didn't get her name.
Great prices, great atmosphere. Well done.
I was recommended the Bari Tea Brewery by a friend and was not disappointed. The range of teas on offer was vast with many interesting flavours! I had the green ginger tea with a scone which was freshly baked and was very tasty! Service was very good and all the staff very friendly.
I booked with slight trepidation after reading some mixed reviews. Staying at Fionnphort or 2 nights with my wife to visit Iona & Staffa and as the trip coincided with my wife's birthday I booked the Ninth Wave as a treat.
We both eat out regularly in Scotland and abroad and have been lucky enough to visit some Michelin starred places over the years. The service at Ninth Wave was slightly quirky but very pleasant and the dining room small but very relaxed.
The quality of food served was beyond expectations and on a par with some Michelin starred establishments. The format is akin to a tasting menu with 3 or 4 smaller plates (#4 is dessert), cheese as an optional extra and coffee / petit fours included. We shared a decent bottle of white from an interesting list.
I had scallops and wood pigeon while my wife had the mackerel and crab stuffed courgette blossom. We both chose the half lobster "main" course. the Pigeon was slightly tough but otherwise the food was faultless. The lobster was exceptional and so refreshing to see it on a menu without the usual pricing supplement.
Fabulous evening - thank you Carla and John. We will visit again one day.
A really friendly welcome this morning.we were first in for breakfast shortly after opening time. The staff were really nice and welcoming. The breakfast was delicious and coffee so good we had a second cup, this set us up for our day on the next stage of the South West Coast path. A great find.

I’ve tried the beef, the chicken and the pork today! I can’t make up my mind which one is the best! Everything is fantastic here and the owners are very friendly and very helpful! See you folks next Friday! Tim x
Yet again another sublime dinner, fantastic flavours, amazing presentation, cannot praise it highly enough. The front of house staff are so friendly, professional and knowledgeable, the dining room exudes old country house vibes, and Chef Patron Calum Montgomery, Scottish chef of the year, deserves every accolade, cannot wait for our next visit. Thank you to the Edinbane Lodge team for a wonderful experience.
I went with my uncle and he mentioned the £1 tea deal about every twenty minutes we were there. He was amazed! I'm gluten, dairy allergies and veggie and describe this as the best kept secret in Romsey. They even do gluten free waffles/pancakes and bagels which is unlike ANYWHERE else. The cost is amazing and the staff so attentive. We were hidden round the corner but they still remembered to check in and offer us a tea refill frequently!
