Really delicious food and the staff are so helpful- we weren't sure what to order as it was our first time trying Korean BBQ and the staff member so was so polite and happy to talk us through the menu. Will be back

Second time to the Cow Shed as the first time was great. We were disappointed this time around… dry chips, wait times were fairly long but the real off putting thing was the quiz night! I didn’t realise it was on when I booked. We fancied a quiet meal to celebrate our anniversary to be met with the sounds of buzzers, cheers and flushing toilet sounds!! It was really off putting and was such a shame to what was a great experience the last time we came.

The food is very tasty and the food sizes were very generous at good value. The service was excellent and the value for money was very good.

Food was excellent value for money - Sirloin was just over £30, but about 350g of perfectly cooked medium rare steak - cannot complain. Both desserts were lovely and we were given a complimentary starter/Primi course. Restaurant area was well decorated and matched the atmosphere and food. The only let-down, unfortunately, was the service. Initially very helpful with sorting out free car parking at the hotel and taking our coats. Subsequently had 4 bugbears regarding service: 1. After finishing our mains it took 15/20 minutes (at least) for our plates to be cleared. I could only see around a dozen other diners in the restaurant (at least 4 wait staff that I could count). We had to politely request a desert menu, which precipitated our table being cleared. 2. Ordered a double espresso with dessert and was brought something between a flat white and a latte. Mentioned it to the server who apologised and promptly brought over an espresso… maybe the second half is still in its way?… 3. Asked for directions to the toilet and was told “it’s the door over there”. Went ‘over there’ to find 3 doors (restaurant is dimly lit, which does add to the atmosphere, but makes discerning the toilet door sign ((dark mahogany/wood panelling on the doors) somewhat difficult). 4. Mandatory 10% service charge added to the final bill. Mandatory service charges in the UK are always a bugbear for me. Always slightly easier to swallow if the service has genuinely been high quality… unfortunately this had not been our experience. Food was great quality and value for money. Service left quite a bit to be desired.

Friendly manager/owner offered us a table at short notice. Service was exceptional and food was delicious! We had the creamy mushrooms, followed by prawn penne and meat pasta bake. Portions were immense! Wonderful classic tiramisu to finish the meal off. Booking definitely recommended, on a Tuesday evening they were almost full. Absolutely worth a visit!

Great place and great selection of beers

We waited a while for our food but it was freshly made food so well worth the wait. The Chef was a legend, we asked for aubergine dishes they had none, but he went out and bought some. The lovely waitress was rushed off her feet but still very Professional The

Very decent, normally priced pub food with friendly, helpful amd professional staff. Also enjoyed tasty breakfast and comfortable room overnight in characterful building.

Good curry at a good price. Very quiet for a Friday night.

We were really looking forward to our Mother’s Day lunch out and were initially impressed by the fact that Paul had been able to extend our reservation from 4 to 6 people at just 4 days notice. I have fond memories of The Fox from childhood so was very much so looking forward to a return. The Mother’s Day menu looked fantastic as well. On arrival for our 1530 reservation, we were served by the young bar staff for drinks and advised them that we were here for our booking. On the 3rd time of notifying a member of staff that we were here for our 1530 booking, we finally got seated at 1555. We had 3 menus to share amongst 6 and weren’t advised as to what the soup of the day was, any specials or whether there were any items on the menu unavailable. We also had no cutlery. The staff were very young and clearly inexperienced, which is fine, everyone has to start somewhere. What was very disappointing was that there appeared to be no oversight or management and the staff had obviously not been trained as to what the basic service standards were. To say it was Mother’s Day, it wasn’t particularly busy and there seemed to be a lot of staff around but none of them showed any interest or attentiveness towards our table. We had to ask for drinks and for someone to take our order after we had been seated for 30 minutes with no one approaching us. When our order was eventually taken, the waitress returned after 5 minutes to advise that there were no garlic mushrooms, no pate and no children’s sausages. Whilst disappointed, we changed our order. 5 of the 6 of us had starters and all ordered the soup. Two of the soups came out fairly quickly. However, when there was no sign of the other soups after 20 minutes and speaking to two waitresses to let them know that we were missing three soups, I then asked to see the manager. No one seemed to know where he was. Eventually, he came to our table and I explained the disappointment in the service so far. He listened and empathised and kindly offered a round of free drinks. We were hopeful that this would result in an improved service from that point on but unfortunately it didn’t. There were even fewer people in the restaurant at this point yet we still had no interest in our table from the staff. Our main meals came out and then we saw the staff taking other tables food out whilst we had no vegetables, side orders and hadn’t been asked if we wanted sauces. Our food was going cold so again I had to go and chase our remaining food. Not good enough. We would have stayed for desserts but it was 1745 and we needed to get home. We’d been there for over 2 hours and had two courses! We are fortunate enough to be able to eat out a lot so feel we have a balanced approach to expectations and standards of food and service. The food was nice. Although the beef which was described as pink, was not and was quite chewy. I was so so disappointed by the service though. It really wasn’t good enough. There was no management/coordination over the staff and they hadn’t been trained. Unfortunately as I had booked the meal I felt responsible for my family having a very disappointing experience and subsequently I didn’t have an enjoyable Mother’s Day.

This was our first time trying various items on the menu (ribs, wings, chicken club, etc). It was a late afternoon, on a Saturday, and we didn’t order in advance (our fault), so we had to wait about an hour for our order. It was definitely worth the wait. It was delicious!!! Don’t let the exterior of the building fool you: it was a clean, well organized establishment.

I noticed a new shop front in Broadstairs recently, and on discovering it was no longer a smokehouse (always assumed that meant everything smoked -yuk) decided to try it out by booking a table. I took my son along as we are both steak and fries connoisseurs. We both ordered the same. For me, the steak was huge at 10oz. My boy devoured his in minutes. My god, it was delicious. So flavoursome. About two-thirds of the way in, I was considering doggie bagging it, but I managed. What slowed me down were the amazing fries. I don't know how they cooked them, maybe air fried, I couldn't stop stuffing them in my mouth, along with the petite pois. The gentleman who served everyone was kind and caring, a pleasure to be served by. We will be back, don't doubt it. Would love to see a 6oz fillet on the menu, too, for those of us with smaller appetites

Visitamos aquí en un sábado por la noche ocupado, pero incluso allí todas las mesas fueron tomadas, todavía era un gran ambiente. Dejamos nuestra reserva hasta tarde, así que no podíamos conseguir una mesa con la barbacoa puesta, pero la mesa de al lado lo hizo y se veía muy divertido. Fue una celebración de cumpleaños familiar, así que salpicamos un montón de Soju, que viene en diferentes sabores. Recomiendo probar esto, es encantador. Cuando se trata de la comida, éramos 6 y todos pedimos diferentes platos. Tuve el Kangpunki para empezar, precioso con un poco de ensalada fresca, incluyendo chile en rodajas para una pequeña patada, también va muy bien con el rábano amarillo. Mi principal fue fideos de ternera Bulgogi, también muy sabrosos y morados. Un montón de fideos crujientes y frescos con vegetales y grasa. Todos estábamos muy satisfechos y sin duda iría de nuevo, se lo he contado a todos mis compañeros. Definitivamente vale la pena una visita.

Stopped here recently for a full English breakfast, seating was outside only due to current restrictions. The breakfast was very good and the coffee was lovely. Customer toilet available inside. Would recommend to others, all very clean and friendly staff.
