Abba bottomless brunch was an absolute rip off. Put in a small stuffy room where you could barely hear the music with a few blue decorations up. Not what it is sold to be. Food was dry and very expensive for what it was. HOWEVER, staff were fantastic and attentive and worked so hard so my 3 stars are for them.

Good quantity of food but pretty basic and the sauce didn't taste homemade and smothered the dish. Melted cheese was not good quality. Service and staff good. Cleanliness also good.

Banging! New favourite restaurant in Thanet!

Thursday afternoon in August.Dan the owner was very welcoming.We were looking for a bite eat after our walk around oare marshes.The cow shed has a car park so a tick there.It definitely has that shed look but looks can be deceiving.The menu is not complicated or to much choice.The food was excellent I had the cajun chicken and ribs and it's cooked the bbq way and my dining friends had the louisianna Half chicken.We will definitely come back again and share this with friends and family.

Foods over priced and very small portions. For me and another adult it cost us 80 pounds. Wouldn't recommend this place it very overpriced. If I was you I'd go to smoke and co in ramsgate. Alot cheaper and the food is way better. Avoid this cash grab

Very very disappointed by the food, we had a ‘sharing’ t bone but when it came out it was definitely not a sharing size it was on a tiny plate and the presentation was awful, for the price it was nothing special, everything was very salty, the side portion of prawns consisted of 3 salty prawns and that was it. For the price of everything we were very disappointed and wouldn’t go again.

Really lovely food. Location is a bit rubbish, being near a busy roundabout but the food was excellent.

What a fantastic find this place was. All the food was delicious, particularly the steak. My rib eye was cooked perfectly, easily one of the best steaks I've ever had. I hope to visit the area again sometime just so I can come back here.

This is my favourite place to go for food! The food is absolutely amazing and the staff are so friendly and helpful. Highly recommend the pork belly burnt ends as a starter!

Absolutely shocking took over 45 minutes for a steak to come out was dry littlery come with steak and chips no egg no peas no salad tbh I've had better food from a wheatsheaf or a weatherspons the servers was decent but food and atmosphere let's ot down well over priced for what you get defonatley won't be returning again I can't work out the prices considering the place is designed out of old scaffolding boards I wouldn't recommend anything tbh I don't like leaveing bad reviews but for what you pay it's absolutely shocking @cowshed Birchington you need to do better

Very tasty dishes. Grilled chicken juicy and tasty. Same thing with beef. A bit expensive.

Gone downhill, my daughter was ill all night following her chicken meal and my rack of ribs seemed more fat than meat.

Excellent service, was part of a group booking and had to leave earlier than the group. The staff took my order early and accommodated me perfectly. They were also able to make alcohol free cocktails on request that were off the menu. Really lovely place and also was really clean and nice environment.

Worst customer service ever!!! I ordered an Uber eats and waited two hours and then they cancelled!!! I called up and was told it would arrive well before 7, called again and told it would be so much later! The basic girl on the phone, was unapologetic and rude and basically lied and didn’t own up to telling me it would be much earlier. Don’t care my kids are starving hungry and then she cancelled it. What kind of customer service is this? She needs to get a life and a hobbie! Also the food isn’t even that good for the price .

Pre ordered Sunday lunch delivery today. No call to say lamb was unavailable. Instead app simply cancelled whole order at 3 15pm. Given it's a Sunday and supermarket shuts at 4pm left me with no dinner for my family. A call costs nothing. I accept orders on a Sunday may need changing and I'm a flexible person but this was totally unacceptable.

We often go to the cow shed, bring friends and have also gone for their bottomless brunches, everyone that has been with us has always really enjoyed it as well. We have never had a bad meal, the food has always been delicious. The staff have always been lovely and it is a very nice atmosphere. Holly in particular is always so chatty and friendly 🤗

We dined on the finest louisiana chicken known to man

Went in for the lunch meal deal. It was ok nothing to write home about. Service was OK to be honest and a little slow not very attentive despite it being almost empty on a weekday. Sadly they add 10% service charge on themselves like it's London... It's birchington... This should be clear before you sit down. That said I won't be coming back again. Each to their own.

My partner and I visited the Cow Shed on Friday evening and from the moment we walked in we were made to feel so welcome. All the staff were lovely. We couldn’t make our mind up what to have as there was so many nice things to choose from, with the help from the staffs recommendations we had a delicious meal. Very tasty and highly recommend to anyone thinking of visiting. Thank you very much we will definitely be coming back again.

Great food - massive portions! I liked the decoration of the place, despite it being small in size it didn’t feel cramped. We had the classic burger and the chicken stack - both lovely and worth the price However, for a practically empty restaurant on a Tuesday eve, service was slow. We waited over 10 mins for our drink orders to be taken. The server wasn’t very welcoming or chatty with us which was unfortunate.

We had the table about 7pm and had booked a taxi for 9. However had to push it back to 9.30pm and even that was us finishing and leaving immediately. However the food was very good, great portions, very tasty and the service friendly and attentive. We will go back and just make sure we leave enough time.

Disappointing burger, bun was dry and crumbly. Burger was thin. Delicious sticky toffee pudding dessert.

Really disappointed. Made a booking for Mothers Day Lunch, I enquired at 3 restaurants as my 4 month old was coming and I wanted to make sure there was space for a pushchair as he can't sit in a high chair yet. Was told they absolutely could accommodate so went with Cow Shed. We got stuck in traffic on the way and alerted the restaurant 30 mins before we were due at our table. When we arrived the table we were seated at had no space for a pushchair, I alerted the staff and we were eventually moved but now with the delay of traffic and the extra delay of moving tables we were then being told we needed to hurry up as the table was only for 1hr 40mins and with the 25 mins traffic and about 15 mins table move we now only had an hour. The starters came quickly and were ok, very big portions which isn't necessarily a bad thing but no one finished theirs. Meanwhile drinks orders were taking 30 minutes for basic drinks orders, they forgot our drinks order twice during the meal. The main was delicious for 5/6 people, 1 got unlucky with the Lamb roast as it was a joint of fat pretty much, they did remove from bill when requested. As we were finishing up our mains the waiter come over, I assumed to ask him if he could bring our pre ordered deserts out due to the time constraints on the table, but he was in fact telling us we couldn't have them and needed to pay and leave as the next table were due. Honestly couldn't believe it. His offer was remove from bill or take away, the majority had ordered desert with ice cream so not really a take away desert.... There are max 8-10 tables here but you'd think you were in a 100+ cover restaurant how long everything took. Both tables either side of us asked for service charge to be removed, our bill didn't even come with it on, I'm guessing due to the fact they were kicking us out before our pre ordered meal was finished. I understand we were late but there was plenty of time to eat 3 courses if the table they had sat us at originally was pushchair friendly and the service had been better. Also note only 1 toilet cubicle. Overall food was good but absolutely wouldn't recommend on what is likely to be a "busy" day. Won't be returning.

Lovely food well done chef. Unfortunately front of house fell short. Inexperienced or short on staff maybe. Drinks took forever; & 50% of our party had trouble on motorway so 25 minutes delayed. We were constantly told we had to rush as table booked out so much so; the under pressure waiter simply said would you like your sweets boxed to take home or taken off the bill. We were speechless. That's just the half of it on mother's day. Sorry but you fell very short on expectations. Table beside us also wasn't happy & demanded service charge removed also. 🙄 Not 1 for our shortlist.

Mediocre at best. It was quite cold in the restaurant on arrival. When we ordered our drinks, we went for a draught pint ( which was on the menu), our server told us that they don’t have anything on draught but that it can be ‘ quite confusing’ for customers because the menu is the same as the Faversham branch’s! Having ordered food, we waited 45 minutes, seeing a table of 4 who arrived after us receiving both starters and mains. When we finally managed to catch our server’s eye, he said it was ‘just coming’ ( no apology). Our food arrived on wooden boards, my partner had the ribs but was given no finger bowl, wipes or even extra napkins. I had the veggie burger which was deep fried, tasteless and very oily ( we ate our food because we were starving, having waited so long and it was too late to go elsewhere). I have had better food in Wetherspoons at half the price. We will not be returning.

Just had a fantastic meal here, we were a table of six, out for our son’s birthday. Food was brilliant, we all enjoyed our meals so much. Steaks all great, chicken and ribs perfect, can’t fault a thing, except possibly the portion sizes were too big for some of us, but that’s not a criticism really! Will definitely return, thank you Cow Shed!

We came for a friend's birthday the food was lovely only thing what let them down was the service as this was very slow. They run out of all roast potatoes and lamb for a Sunday. And no apple crumble. They put on a 25 pound service charge what I think is bad and charged us 6 pound for two small Pepsi max and put bottles of coke on the bill. I did question this but the lady said this was correct. It was very cold and no heating was on the man said he had put it on and we checked the dial for the warmth and this still didnt come on. The thing I was put off as my first ever visit was the service charge and the price of two small cans. And lack of service but the food was gorgeous.

We had a fantastic meal on Tuesday evening , Board games night , we shared a platter with a side portion of Onion rings - this was plenty for 2 . The atmosphere was great , busy for the time of week , the staff were friendly and we had a lovely evening.

Ordered a takeaway and they immediately gave an honest time for delivery which was very respectful. Food was very hot and well presented. Would definitely recommend loved the ribs and burgers were now satisfied by an amazing delivery. Love the family and should go there !

Having reserved a table online my wife and I arrived at the restaurant on time to the small reception/bar area where three women were gathered in front of the bar engaged in conversation with the girl manning it. Nobody came to greet us. Instead the young lady manning the bar mumbled something inaudible over the heads of those talking at the bar and pointed to a table close to the entrance. When I asked if we could please have a table inside the main eating area of the restaurant she visibly rolled her eyes, still couldn’t be arsed to walk round the bar to us, and pointed to the other remaining table in what is essentially a reception area. And there we sat for almost ten minutes completely ignored. No greeting. No invitation to order drinks. We were already annoyed about the rude and halfhearted attitude and decided to leave before committing to what was inevitably going to be a long and frustrating experience of bad service. Incredibly as were leaving one of the women who was engrossed in conversation at the bar (for 10 minutes) turned to face us for the first time and said “I’ll bring a menu over in a minute”. Turns out that this person, who literally had her back to us the whole time, was the manageress. I asked her name and she told me it is “Holly”. Whoever owns this establishment should know that Holly and the other member of staff that we encountered are badly letting them down. Having since read reviews regarding the actual quality of the food here I am now pleased that we left before committing to would have almost certainly been an expensive and frustrating waste of time. We walked a few yards down Birchington High street and enjoyed a very nice meal in a small Turkish restaurant where we were greeted and served by very friendly and attentive staff. Suffice to say that we will not be returning to the Cow Shed again.

Fabulous Sunday Roast and great service

This was my first and last visit to this restaurant. A group of us went for lunch. The starters were ages coming out to start with having been told there were no prawns on the menu of which a few of us had decided on. When the main meals arrived, three of us had to send back our burgers as they were cold. When they were brought back again, they were slightly better but the chips had been re-done and were very greasy and hard! One of the group asked for an Irish Coffee off the menu only to be told there was no double cream so would "squirty" cream do?! When it came to paying the bill individually, which we had been told would be fine, what a fiasco! Suffice to say we declined the service charge and won't be back!

Very Unimpressed and won’t be returning. Our previous visits have been great. But my experience this time was very disappointing. We had booked our table 2 days before for our anniversary and even had to submit our card details to secure. On arrival we were made to stand waiting, very awkwardly over someone else’s table while they eat for 25 mins with zero apology or explanation from the very abrupt staff. Any attempt of conversation over the situation was unwelcome and simply shrugged off. No compensation or apology was offered. Absolutely diabolical service. It ruined our evening, the food has always been excellent but I’m afraid the staff have let themselves down on this occasion. Better planning and better customer service is seriously needed.

Came in a few weeks after Christmas and ordered the Turkey curry was disappointing burnt naan bread stale poppadoms spoke to the waitress who said sorry about that and walked off what can I say.. not even offered to change anything.. on a positive note my partner enjoyed his ribs .. will I visit again don’t think so

Excellent Sunday lunches at The Cow Shed Bar & Grill. Really generous portions, including the children's potion (seemed like the same amount of food on a smaller plate). The only issue is that the last two times we've been, it's taken over an hour from the booking time to receiving the food. There is also only a toilet for one person. BUT the food is fabulous, and well worth a visit. Faster service this time. I think they probably make the Yorkshire puddings on demand! They were great.

This was the third and last visit to this establishment. The first time we went was a year or so ago and the burgers were amazing. A few months back we went back for steak, and was disappointed with the lack of service. The waitress just pointed to the table and threw the menus down. She was more interested in social media on her phone. The steak, half hour later was great, but served with McCain fry chips! £35, not value at all. We thought we give it another go for breakfast, big mistake, ruined our day. There was a table of four and us two. Six of us in total, so thought services would be swift. After ordering a steak and egg breakfast and a full grill we waited for over an hour for it to arrive. Six seats and an hour to wait!! To add insult, the only thing on the plate to have retained heat was the mushroom. The thimble sized ramekin of beans were cold and everything else was barely luke warm. As we had waited for what seemed an eternity, we just wanted to eat and go. A few hours later our stomachs became uncomfortable. Later that afternoon we both experienced painful diarrhoea! After reviewing the last months reviews, it's quite evident that the food quality and service has plummeted. We should of adhered to the latest reviews. Our day together was completely ruined by the experience at The Cow Shed and we are quite happy to take our business elsewhere.

Great Sunday roast with good portion sizes and lots of tempting side dish options available e.g. Mac and Cheese, Sausage stuffing. The beef brisket is highly recommended! As with the other branch of Cow Shed the service was a little slow, particularly for our young children, however our server was friendly and attentive and the great food made up for it. Parking is a short walk (either free if you can get a street space, or paid in the car park).

Ordered a T-bone steak well done and specified I didn’t want any blood or pinkness in it and it came pink with blood. Also their tbones are £50 a steak which I think is well overpriced considering much upper class places like miller & carter charge £40 and other places even less. Seating is so uncomfortable and had to keep my coat on as was freezing.

Decided to give this place a try as we was in the area, now I only really write reviews on trip advisor if places are 5 stars or 1 star. I ordered the sirloin and asked for medium rare, after 45-50minutes our food come out, my steak looked dry so I thought I’d flip it to check it out, one side was dry looking and the burnt side had been placed down on the plate to hide it. After waiting this long I told the staff we were leaving, on leaving we were asked if I was going to pay for our two cokes? No apology, just am I going to pay for the drinks…. No, no I’m not, you’ve already wasted an hour of my evening! Worst steak house I’ve visited in Kent to date. See picture for reference!

it was BOGOF on the bugers on deliverMOO on bonfire night so we took advantage of the offer. the burgers were HUGE and delivered quick & hot. the only thing was my son's chicken burger was a bit over cooked and charred - but i guess i'd rather have over than under, when it comes to chicken! we didnt have sides, just the burgers which came with fries, they were more than enough, really good big portions.

Second time coming for dinner as the first time was a good experience. Unfortunately today it was clear the place has gone downhill. The food took an hour to arrive and the MacnCheese was dry and had clearly been sat there for a long time... evident as we were watching it dry out on the pass for at least 15 mins. One steak was overcooked and burnt on top, cold and under cooked onions were severed on every plate. The staff team could all be seen playing on there phones, sitting around the customer tables eating their dinner before we had ours and demonstrated very poor hand hygiene. One staff came in the restaurant and stood in the bar with his coat on playing on his phone and then delivered a plate of food to a table without washing his hands. A poor way to start your shift when you have clearly just come in. And then to find out that they have tipped themselves £12 automatically from the bill without informing us is absolutely disgusting considering the service they provided. A real shame as it was such a nice place but unfortunately we will not be returning again. Disappointing really.

Amazing food and brilliant service

Went today for lunch with mum and and dad , they had been before and had a great experience, being vegetarian they had a nice meal which is ironic considering the name of the restaurant, i went for 2 for £16 lunchtime menu I had the magerita prawns looked impressive enough but tasted bland and oily so the magerita sauce helped with flavour, I ordered the ultimate burger with blue cheese for an extra £1 first order was cold and overcooked , second which I waited half hour for was hot how it should have been and mum and dad had eaten theirs by the time I got mine , think it is overpriced for the quality of food ,on the plus side waitress was very nice and helpful but it won't be on my list of return or recommend

Came for lunch with wife and daughter, had been for evening meal previously which was very nice. Lunch today was not good . Daughters meal was overcooked and cold , waitress did get it changed but we had finished by the time it came back. Drinks so overpriced it was disgraceful. No prices on menu, will not be using or recommending in future. Was happy with waitress......

Went for a date night with my fiancé, we decided on The cow shed as the reviews looked pretty good, our starters went down a treat, but for our main we both had chosen steak, wasn't too pleased, plate looked quite plain needed maybe some greenery to brighten it up an give more of an appealing look to it, the steaks were burnt which gave off an extremely bitter taste so let the meal down on a whole, wouldn't return for that reason alone.

Just to let all customers know this place is over priced and they serve out of date food I've seen this happen over 20 times as they mangers who run it don't care. And they don't like to pay people there money after they have worked for them I've been a head chef for 5 to 6 years and working for this disfunction work place is a joke. Out of date food and not paying the staff. But If you want to go there and pay for 4 to 5 day old food then this is the place your get a dirty glass and cutlery on a dirty plate. Think guys before someone else gets covid 19 from this place like I did twice.

Overall it was decent enough. Priced as a group the bill was reasonable but some of the individual dishes seemed overpriced. And in the context of what was likely to be a decent-sized bill given there was four of us, charging me £1 to switch my fries for what turned out to be a pretty miserly portion of winter veg felt pedantic and ever so slightly tight. Starters weren't great, mains were delicious and the desserts were nice (although two of us had the cheesecake of the day which was apparently lemon but tasted a bit like the cheesecake of yesterday, or maybe the day before). If a group of friends wanted to go as a pack I'd have no objection but as a couple, I'm not sure we'd go back. No massive complaints per say, maybe just not our thing.

What an amazing experience and environment! Team is great, ambience on point, strongly recommended! And don't worry too much about prices, I'm sure you'd be surprised and quality is just amazing, I'll be back for some photos at least! thanks guys!

Lovely food and all freshly cooked. It was busy, so service was a little slow, but that didn't matter as we were not in a rush. Unfortunately, one steak came overcooked, but the team was quick to rectify and the replacement was delicious.

Gutted to have to write this. But after several shocking food deliveries I’ve had enough. Nearly £20 fir a box of chopped leak in a box that’s meant to be a brisket roast dinner. Portions have got smaller and smaller. The kids “banging sausage and mash” was hardly even a table spoon of mash. After being a customer since the beginning I shan’t ever return.

Second visit, ordered far too much! Pigs in blankets and crackling were lush. First experience of Frickles and they were delicious, mac and cheese ok but nothing special and as mains we had chicken stack and venison burger. Chicken stack very nice but bit overdone and venison had far too much cranberry and blue cheese sauce totally disguising the taste of the venison, removed some of the sauce and was very tasty. Espresso martini was one of best I've had so definitely have one of those 👍 spotted a few dishes that looked delicious while there so will be back.

Worst quality sausages I've ever had. Mostly gristle. Adding fennel does not take away from the texture. Nice tea though

Very good food and customer service. Shame they don't have any beer on tap instead of bottles. Very well priced and potion sizes are very big. Only thing to mention on a bad note was the ribs I had were overcooked and didn't fall of the bone as I would have liked. Would definitely return.

Just got back from the cow shed. We phoned to see if they had a table they told us to come even though it was getting late.The staff were very accommodating,and attentive! Food was great massive portions. Be careful of the firecracker chicken wing's they were hot but lovely.

Realy nice place to go. Been by untold times and always said we would give it a go one day. Both had steak which was spot on. Sat in udder bar out back which was nice, the girls put heaters on as it was a bit nippy. Realy friendly staff as well so couldnt fault the evening out, will def be coming back..

Want as a family group with small children. The staff were really friendly and pleasant but unfortunately the food did not live up to expectations. It’s hard to actually explain what the issue was but more thought needs to go into the presentation and perhaps the menu needs to be tweaked a little? For example the spicy glaze was so hot it spoilt the taste of the food, the venison burger had no seasoning and was served in a cold bun? The children’s burgers was just a well grilled burger in a bun which was not visually appetising to a small child. We haven’t been there for a while but this visit was not up to the standard of our previous visit and unfortunately I can’t see us returning anytime soon. One thing I also need to mention. My small granddaughter took off her shoes and by the time we left her feet were black. The floor looks clean but …..?

First time at the cow shed, and it really was a 10/10, the beef wedge with potatoes and veg was spot on, there was so much meat I couldn’t eat it all so took it home in a napkin for my do-dos. The beef was absolutely gorgeous, no nasty fatty bits running through it, just tasty beef, I loved it, the rest of my party had burgers, gammon, beef, and lamb and not one moan about the food from any of us. The girls serving were on the ball and extremely helpful and polite, really lovely staff. Desserts were nice and yummy too, honestly have a meal there you won’t be dissapointed it was the best meal Iv had out in a long time and worth every penny. Looking forward to visiting the cow shed again

I have been here a couple times now and the service is impeccable, the staff are tentative and welcoming and it’s such a lovely place to go! The food has always been outstanding. This time round we had the tomohawk steams which were to die for! Would 100% recommend ☺️
