Unassuming on the outside but amazing authentic Thai food inside. Reasonably priced, generous portions and ingredients and true, fragrant spice to the food. Highly recommend the jungle curry and the duck salad - flavourful and fresh. It is a small venue so if in large group I would recommend to book a table in advance. Corkage fee for BYO. Staff are friendly and attentive

The restaurant has a cosy and welcoming atmosphere, with beautifully decorated interiors that add to the authentic feel. The menu features a wide range of dishes, each bursting with fresh ingredients and bold flavours. I was particularly impressed with the rich, aromatic curries and the perfectly balanced stir-fries. The service was attentive and friendly, making the whole experience even more enjoyable.

We booked castle Thai for my birthday after having lovely food when we'd previously visited. We knew the interior was in need of a repaint but that didn't put us off. On arrival the premises were cold. Only one other table was in. Despite advising were attending the theatre our starters took 45 minutes to arrive. We were served our initial drink but not offered a further one. Only the owner was serving with what appeared to be one person cooking The food was fine, not as good as previously, however the temperature of the restaurant and service puts it firmly in our "will not return" bucket!

Popped in at 4.30pm on a Tuesday and it was buzzing. Mainly locals, which is always a good sign; all friendly, especially our dog, who received lots of attention. The staff were friendly, and the beer was kept well, with four choices. It's not more than 5 minutes from the local Wetherspoons, so it's great to see people there. It has a real community feel to the place, definitely going back.

I went to Royal Thai with my boyfriend for my birthday dinner and what a treat it was! The new owner is lovely and clearly a very skilled chef! All the staff were personable and super attentive and there was a really cosy atmosphere in the restaurant. This was definitely the best thai meal I have ever had. We had the prawn spring rolls and the ribs in red wine sauce to start, which were both yummy. For our main, we both had the red thai curry. My boyfriend had his with chicken, which he says was delicious. I had mine with prawns - now these are big prawns, which made me very happy. There was depth to the flavour and a good level of spice (warming) in the curry. The portion size was perfect too. I will 100% be back for more.
