Thai Dining Room

Horncastle, East Lindsey, <20£
14/03/2019: Trusted tripadvisor with our stomachs once again and just went straight for the number 1 place in Horncastle
14/01/2019: We had visited this restaurant before, so knew what to expect - superb Thai food, a relaxed atmosphere, attentive staff. If we have any criticism it is that perhaps the Taster Menu should be renamed Set Menu as Taster Menu suggests small portions served as examples of dishes. In reality, the Taster is a five course meal - a single-bite hors d'oeuvre, soup, a mixed starter (for us, chicken satay, spring rolls, fishcakes and beef skewers), a main course (for us, Geang Pa, King Prawn Pad-Thai, Green curry and a pork dish, accompanied by three different rice dishes - all large portions), dessert). The Thai dining experience is slightly let down by the dessert (which is not Thai) but we knew what to expect so can't complain. A lighter dessert would have been welcome (ours was a chocolate torte, quite rich and heavy) after such a filling meal. We had asked for medium heat, but the pork dish was too hot for us to enjoy - the hot dishes must be really hot! Otherwise, we had a most enjoyable evening.

Hucknall Central, Ashfield, 20-30£
05/03/2019: Went for the first time with a friend after she recommended it. Without a doubt the nicest food I've ever tasted in my life. It was spectacular. Lovely attentive staff, nice atmosphere and really reasonable prices. Can't wait to take everyone I know there!!
15/02/2019: Valentine's Day, my husband took me to Arunothai for lunch. We had two courses for less than £8 and it was all delicious; it was extra for the drinks, of course.. The staff were extremely happy because they have just received the Star Award for the Best Thai Restaurant 2019 (outside of London) as part of the Best Asian Restaurant Awards. We have always know this restaurant was the best and now it has been confirmed. Long may the success continue.

Simply Thai Restaurant

Buxton Central, High Peak, 30-45£
19/03/2019: This is my third visit over a few years, always go before a show at the opera house. This was definitely the worst experience out of the three, Portions were just about adequate but smaller than previous visits. The service was poor, our main dishes arrived without the rice and noodles we had ordered and we had to send them back as they were not going to be warm enough by the time the rest of our order arrived. Apparently there was a big party upstairs but that we considered should not have made diners downstairs have poor service. The other issue for me was the coconut rice. I always love this dish at a Thai restaurant and usually very happily eat the whole
18/03/2019: A landmark of Buxton and usually a safe bet for quality. I ate there recently and the food was not great. A duck curry that ordinarily has ample ingredients was populated by thin slices of anaemic duck, hardly any vegetables and coconut milk. This dish was once fantastic. Other report's from friends about declining quality and a lack of attention to detail have been confirmed. Won't be going back until they sort out the chef. Deep fried tofu was pretty horrible too.

Thailand Number One

Minster, Lincoln
14/03/2019: Really excellent choices in the two course lunch menu. Very well presented chunky prawn toast, followed by a traditional red curry cooked to perfection. Just the right size for lunch time. Two courses £12.00. Timing was perfect so we could get in and out in an hour. Very lovely indeed.
10/03/2019: I feel this restaurant could become a victim of it's own success, the food is good but they have crammed so many tables into the room they are unable to cope, it then becomes chaotic with poor waiting staff having to deal with too many customers and as s result drinks take forever to arrive if at all.long delays between courses as kitchen staff are struggling to cope. I appreciate its a busy Saturday night and running any business profit is key but less tables would allow you to provide a much better service and keep the great reputation you have.

Thai Cassia Bar & Restaurant

Worksop South, Bassetlaw, <20£
10/03/2019: We had a beautiful meal here last night, it was very busy with some big parties and not a spare table in site. ( this alone speaks volumes!)
07/03/2019: Great service, very attentive and prompt. Lovely surroundings and ambiance. The food was well presented and tasted lovely at a reasonable price.

25/02/2019: From the service and the restaurant atmosphere, to the wide ranging menu and tasty grub, it really doesn’t get anymore authentic.

Emmas thai

Little Hallam, Erewash, 30-45£
19/03/2019: Great place to try Thai cuisine in Ilkeston even though it's a set menu you pick as many courses as you want and they adjust the food choice to suit you. Would really like to say the whole experience is fantastic.
07/03/2019: By far the best Thai food in a 15 miles radius of Ilkeston. always friendly and always loads of food.

Thailand No. 1

Matlock All Saints, Derbyshire Dales
14/03/2019: What a lovely meal, set menu for 2 was just perfect. Staff incredibly helpful and but not too attentive, all very friendly and kind. Food was delicious and would most definitely go back! Some of the best Thai food
11/03/2019: Visited midweek to eat with a couple of colleagues over from Belgium. One of my colleagues struggles to make it through the week without a Thai meal so was t sure how he would rate this place. He was impressed. So was I - I don’t have much Thai food experience so was guided to the Pad Thai - they had chicken version while I had king prawn. It was really good . Service was good with our waiter mischievously playing little
