Awesome Thai

Barnes, Richmond upon Thames, <20£
15/05/2020: This is the only thai takeaway my family and I order from. After trying other thai food restaurants locally for take out & being eastern asian, we have never been disappointed. Food is authentic, reasonable priced and tasty. Great customer service too. One day my family. & I will dine here. Highly recommended. Evans Family
22/03/2020: I have lived in Barnes now almost a year. I have to say that I am so glad we have awesome thai in Barnes. whenever I go there the staffs are very welcoming. The food is absolutely delicious. I used to live in New York and have been trying to find the taste that I experienced in NY. This is it! no further. I love it. Thank you so much being in Barnes.

Nipa Thai

Lancaster Gate, City of London,Westminster, 45-60£
30/03/2020: This restaurant was a bit of a surprise - absolutely stunning atmosphere overlooking Hyde Park (as you're on the 1st floor of a hotel), the service could not have been more friendly and accommodating and the food! My oh my, the food. We met in Thailand, we have spent months travelling the country over the years and do miss it terribly at times; it is like a home away from home. The food here brought us straight back and was just excellent. We chose one of their menus for two people, which gave us a taste of a multitude of dishes. Every one of them was delicious; we were slightly stuffed at the end! Thank you so much for a perfect meal.
18/03/2020: We had dinner at Nipa Thai because it was cold and we wanted something close to our hotel. We did our internet search and found Nipa Thai. The menu looked so good and had options for both my daughter and I. From the moment we walked in without a reservation until we walked out, the staff treated us wonderfully. They made sure we always had everything we needed...they updated us on our order, my glass was never empty...they really are what you hope to have in every restaurant that you go to. The food was absolutely delicious. The corn fritter appetizer was just a hint of the meal to come. It was crispy and delicious. We both got curry and she loved the spice in hers and mine was perfect. Just delicious and perfect for a cold rainy night. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough.

Thai Taste

Courtfield, Kensington and Chelsea, 30-45£

Patara - Soho

West End, City of London,Westminster, 45-60£
27/04/2020: So I had eaten in the Patara Restaurant in Vienna recently and was expecting the same quality of food and service...I was sadly disappointed! The service is awful... pretentious and inhospitable. The food has much to be desired. I had the mushroom tom yum and was unimpressed-vinegar and soya sauce concoction. I also had the Som Tum salad which was marginally better. The decor of the restaurant is pleasant and when I went it was quite full. It seems to be popular and I cant understand why--there are so many better places close by where the food is much better.
27/03/2020: Food was great, service very efficient. ambiance fine. Good menu with a broad choice but not to the detriment of the food. All very efficient yet very pleasant. Good for both a business dinner and with friends. One of my more enjoyable Thai meals.

Royal Thai Restaurant

Caledonian, Islington
08/03/2020: In London for work and ate here alone tonight. A lovely little no nonsense place, with friendly staff. I was given a menu and a cheaper set menu which I hadn’t known was an option. I had the fishcakes and pad Thai from the set menu. Both very tasty and excellent value for money (£15.95 two courses and a drink). When I’m back later in the year, I’ll return
04/03/2020: One is spoilt for choice of restaurants in the King's Cross area of London, many being small family run establishments. Royal Thai is one such. The welcome is warm, service is extremely pleasant, friendly and courteous, and the food is very good. It is inexpensive, and excellent value. And the Singha beer is as cheap as anywhere in London!

Sri Suwoon

Warwick, City of London,Westminster, <20£

07/03/2020: The atmosphere is pleasant and both the dishes we ordered were around $8. The food was pleasant enough, but unremarkable.

Mae Ping

Trinity, Merton, 30-45£
12/03/2020: Spacious restaurant situated a short walk away from the railway station. This restaurant has extremely friendly and attentive staff who from start to finish ensure you are well looked after. The mixed starter was delicious, followed by the prawn and scollops with egg fried rice. Very affordable and will visit again!
08/03/2020: We went to celebrate a family birthday and wow, the whole evening was wonderful. We were warmly welcomed and service throughout was lovely.I shared the vegetarian mixed starters which were gorgeous. I especially loved the corn cake and tofu BBQ.For mains I had the chicken teriyaki with sticky rice, and again, fabulous. Sadly, no room for dessert. What a wonderful restaurant, and I wish I lived closer to it.

Mai Thai

Dundonald, Merton
26/06/2020: We have been trying lots of local takeaway places during the lockdown and honestly this place had delivered not only the worst VFM meal but also the blandest Thai food we had in ages. We had thought that paying more than usual will be justified as the food will be of better quality. Not so!!! Their Pad Thai had absolutely no flavour, was very stogy and did not even have any crushed peanuts as topping, This must have been the most expensive takeaway pad Thai we've had in ages; £14 for a small box (£12.50 for noodles and £1.50 extra for prawns). Their green curry was also lacking in flavour and had very little meat and far too much of curry sauce). So disappointing! We were also charged "service charge' on top of the delivery charge (never heard of anyone else who charges "service charge" on takeaways!). Needless to say, we will not be ordering from them again
07/03/2020: I’ve been coming to Mai Thai with my family for over twenty years. We often go for lunch and until our last visit have really enjoyed the food. I recently turned vegan, after being a vegetarian for 20 plus years and didn’t think this would be a problem. Unfortunately I was wrong. Myself and my sisters ordered a meat free pad see ew (which I have ordered before and enjoyed). After I had eaten half of the meal my sister stopped me to tell me she had found chicken in her noodles. I put my fork down, checked my plate and sitting there were several small pieces of chicken. I felt sick to my stomach. We called the waitress over and asked her how this had happened, she said she would speak to the kitchen. When she returned to our table she explained that the chef had told her that chicken must have ‘fallen onto our noodles’. I then asked her if the veggie food was cooked separately to the meat, she insisted it was but I highly doubt it. She was very apologetic (the staff are always lovely and I wouldn’t ever complain about them) and took the noodles off our bill but we left upset and hungry. I now wonder if all the years I’ve been enjoying my Thai food, they were cooked alongside the meat. Please take these comments seriously as I will no longer be able to eat in your restaurant because of this experience. There is no excuse for this to happen in 2020.

Paolina's Thai Cafe

Clerkenwell, Islington
25/01/2020: Very authentic for this side of the world. Nice & fresh & super tasty. Had Penang Curry & Prawn stir fry, Tom yum & dumplings. The desserts were really good too. Very busy so would book ahead So good we’ll be back in a couple of days!

Wallington South, Sutton, 20-30£
04/01/2020: Excellent food and service. One dish was rather spicy and they changed it with out any fuss. Would recommend and definitely would go again.
09/10/2019: I went there to celebrate my daughter's 2nd wedding anniversay as it came highly recommended. Right next to Wallington station on a hilly road accessed through wooden glazed door lobby and giving feeling of sitting a someone's front room I immediately felt homely. It a small place still full on a Tuesday evening verifying trusted custom. The starters comprsing crackers, dumplings, ppaya salad, spring rolls, tempura washed down with Chang beer were wonderful, more imprtantly fresh. The mains pad tha, curries, fish and Tom um soup to accomapny were delicious. The waitress was very helpful, culling our larger order which proves that they really serve people unlike other so called 'IHigh Street Indian curry houses' actualy run by mainly Bangladeshi owners who think nothing of piling you with unwanted and tasteless items from their long menu. If you are looking for genuinely cooked Thai with properly blended sauce thne you don't have to go to Bangkok. Spend an evening here at Bonanaza- you won't be dissappointed

Number One Thai Restaurant

Sutton Central, Sutton
13/06/2020: Just perfect Most authentic Thai in London. Beautiful food and amazing staff. And they don’t add msg either. Will definitely come in for a meal once things are open again. Thanks for the take away.
15/05/2020: Amazing Thai. Never disappoints. Food fantastic. Fast delivery. Been waiting for restaurant to open since lockdown. Did not disappoint. Fabulous food.

Nakhon Thai - Royal Docks

Royal Docks, Newham, <20£
19/04/2020: Be careful. The takeaway menu on line is not the same charge as the current delivery menu. This is not advertised & question whether it is legal. Sea Bass is on the menu on line for £19.95 (steep anyway) but on Deliveroo for £23.95!
15/03/2020: Great attentive service ,the food is exceptional with lovely views over the East London Docklands, would highly recommend visiting here as it is a fantastic experience. Parking isn't the easies, if you park around the back and walk through it is easy.

Thai Lemon Restaurant

Eastcote and East Ruislip, Hillingdon
08/03/2020: Been meaning to try this local Thai and when my daughters and i did we were so pleased to have such a great place on our doorstep. Had a range of diff veggie options and prawns... noodles, green and yellow curries and rice. NOTHING disappointed; it was all delicious and all dishes distinctly different. Good value and friendly prompt service. 5 stars because it tasted soooo good.
08/03/2020: Amazing local place! Went with mum and sister - a nut allergy, a vegetarian and an egg intolerance. Yet still so much choice. Lovely service as well made a birthday meal really special!

Addie's Thai Cafe

Earl's Court, Kensington and Chelsea, >100£

Askew, Hammersmith and Fulham
02/02/2020: What an amazing restaurant. Food was completely delicious. Can’t wait to go back. Our favourite place to go out
08/01/2020: I have been coming here for ages. I have never tasted better Thai food. It is moreover great value and the service is fantastic. Clive and Ray are great hosts. I often think I'm going to find better elsewhere but genuinely cant think of anywhere better in London. Seriously. I wholeheartedly recommend Som Tam.
