Hidden Gem in the Heart of Town Tucked away in the heart of town, I stumbled upon what can only be described as a culinary treasure. This restaurant exudes authenticity, with every dish crafted to perfection—the kind of perfection that feels like it came straight from a beloved grandmother’s kitchen. Each bite was a testament to the care and skill behind the cooking, leaving me in awe of how every single dish could be this delicious. One thing I truly appreciated was the absence of the all-too-common dining interruption: no waitstaff hovering every five minutes to ask, “Is everything alright with your food?” (Why do so many places think this is a good idea? If the food is bad, trust me, people will say something—well, maybe not in England, but you get my point.) From the quality of the food to the relaxed dining experience, this restaurant hits every mark. If I could give it more than five stars, I would. Food: 5 stars. Value: 5 stars. Experience: 5 stars. Plus, plus, plus. This hidden gem is a must-visit.

Fabulous food and service, I ordered a varied takeout for 18 people in November, they still talk about the nicest Thai food they have ever had, and looking forward to another special event catered by Nok’s in the near future, says it all I think delivered hot the flavours were outstanding and couldn’t fault the attention to detail with order timing etc. Thank you Cameron and all involved.

Food was average and quite expensive, the green curry was very different to what I normally eat at the restaurants, the flat noodles were very average as well , the minced pork dumplings were nice but only 4 in a portion, so overall was an average

Popped in at 4.30pm on a Tuesday and it was buzzing. Mainly locals, which is always a good sign; all friendly, especially our dog, who received lots of attention. The staff were friendly, and the beer was kept well, with four choices. It's not more than 5 minutes from the local Wetherspoons, so it's great to see people there. It has a real community feel to the place, definitely going back.

My partner and I are regulars here. It's easily the best Thai place in Portsmouth and one of the very few authentic places. It's so hard to find authentic Thai in the UK but this place is it. Value for money is excellent and with it being BYOB we rarely spend more than ÂŁ20 a head.

I went to Royal Thai with my boyfriend for my birthday dinner and what a treat it was! The new owner is lovely and clearly a very skilled chef! All the staff were personable and super attentive and there was a really cosy atmosphere in the restaurant. This was definitely the best thai meal I have ever had. We had the prawn spring rolls and the ribs in red wine sauce to start, which were both yummy. For our main, we both had the red thai curry. My boyfriend had his with chicken, which he says was delicious. I had mine with prawns - now these are big prawns, which made me very happy. There was depth to the flavour and a good level of spice (warming) in the curry. The portion size was perfect too. I will 100% be back for more.

First visit and wow amazing cuisine and service. Lovely friendly staff. Such decadent decor and crockery am shocked they don't get many customers due to location ( opposite Kaspa"s) If you like phenomenal thai food this is a must for you. Perfect for romantic evening or any celebrations!! All fresh produce , spices and large portions I took rest home with me. My tastebuds were singing!! Outstanding 👏🥂👌🍾🎉
