The best restaurants serving Seafood food in Scotland

It's a good chip shop, fast and friendly delivery, chips and fish really are as good as they were in the past, minimal difference if any, when a shop has been providing food for nearly 50 years it might be easy to have unrealistic nostalgic expectations however I feel the product does indeed hit that target. Other reviews complain about problems that all fast food encounters when being contained in a bag or box, that is remedied by opening the container and letting the excess steam expand out of the food for a few minutes before eating, never had a soggy fish and chips yet. Another moan I see in the reviews is about the attitude of the proprietor, I pay for good food and sensible delivery times, those are always on point. Would those complainers be happier if the proprietor was excessively friendly yet the food was bad and delivered late ?, in my view this is what counts, the food, and I have never had any bad experiences in my dealings with staff or proprietors in this shop. La Gondola is still one of the top chip shops in Scotland.

Had a small fish and chips and my god it was small ! Served by what seemed like a terrified. School kid ,There was a fierce woman working there the kids seemed petrified of her ! I think there’s more atmosphere on tbe moon 🌕 .. won’t be going back .. felt sorry for the young staff

Bueno, después de ir aquí desde que recuerdo que era local, acabo de comer la peor comida que creo que he comido aquí. Hasta hace poco siempre disfrutaba de las cenas de pescado, se acaba de hacer cargo y me dieron una mini cena de pescado, ahora por lo general el tamaño de pescado es simplemente perfecto, ya que no puedo comer la cena de pescado completo que generalmente contiene 2 pescados, pero esto era pequeño e inmediatamente después de abrirlo se podía ver una buena parte de él parecía sobre masa crujiente, parecía que se recalentó, ahora esto era a las 7. 30 así que no debería haber sido. Por lo general, al morder en el pescado es suave se desmorona, pero no esto, estaba demasiado cocido, seco y el poco sin pescado la masa era tan difícil que no podía morder en él Asqueroso. Así que parece que voy a ir a otro lugar, el personal al ver que los peces nunca debería haber dado eso! Porque visualmente se podía ver que estaba demasiado cocido y quebradizo. Absolutely disgusting, partner had kebab there was hardly any salad just lettuce and onion, also was cold, my chips were really undercooked, will not be returning

Absolutely awful!! The fish was off went straight in the bin!! Spring rolls were cold inside had to cook them myself in oven! The place has been going down hill for a while now certainly hit rock bottom would avoid it! Only went because Dinos was closed!

Fue increíble ver a Allan Millard visitando su antigua tienda. Su Gran hija y su Nieto están trabajando en él 65 años después de que él comenzara este emblemático restaurante. Mejillones frescos calientes con un poco de vinagre y un poco de pimienta negra. OMG como dijo un tipo que tenía 2 platos de mariscos y un plato de mejillones para sí mismo. Comida apropiada. Non you sauce sh**e. Podrás saborear los mariscos de la forma en que deben ser. No podía estar más de acuerdo.

utterly terrible place. Have given them a go 3 times for delivery and every time it’s taken several calls, up to an hour, after delivery was supposed to be here to get the food. Tonight they said it was out for delivery then it never arrived. Don’t waste your money or time.

Used to use this chipper regularly and never had any complaints. Decent food at a decent price. Went in yesterday and ordered a white pudding supper, at nearly £6 the price has increased dramatically since my last visit. The white pudding was decent (hence the 2 stars) but the chips, clearly been sitting for a while, we're inedible, and discarded. Won't be back.

Would have been better if they put salt & vinegar

Had an excellent white pudding and red pudding. Chips also really good with a generous portion. Prices about average and the service was good. Plenty of parking outside which is handy. No complaints!

I was disappointed the last time I used it and again when I tried it recently. Found the servers rude and the food choices need updating. Don't they realise people have food intolerences?

I bought 2 takeaways 1 sweet and sour chicken balls fried rice and prawn noodles and both of us was violently sick and still feel unwell today 19th of July and an after taste of oil in our mouths totally totally disgusting AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Dirty sticky tables, NO atmosphere at all - old furnishings, no effort made here. Water tasted awful because of probably dirty glasses! Prices at least as much as all the other cafes on the prom and I have no clue how it is staying open tbh! Too bad - would be nice to have a proper nice cafe at this end - go up to the High St. cafes instead on this end!

Busy chippy but the staff work hard and the food is fresh.

Bought a large pizza and it was piping hot, fresh and tasted lovely. Bought one a few weeks ago and it was the same, so tonight we passed several other takeaways because I wanted to come here specifically as the pizzas are so tasty. Staff are lovely, courteous and polite. Highly recommend
