Davy's Fish Bar in Aberdeen City

My partner had to wait for ages before getting our food as the staff kept serving other people while ours was ready but he got forgot about

the time kept changing. getting later and later.

The drivers need to get the address right it clearly states what my address is and messaging me saying he is outside when he is clearly at wrong address by then the food is freezing!!!!

Ordered A Single Fish, a white pudding and scampi. No chips or fries of any kind. What arrived was 1 half of a single fish a sliver of fish in one side of the box and chips that I did not order in the other side. The food wasn't cold but not hot enough to be editable so had to be heated up. The Scampi and white pudding wwwre okay once re-heated. The chips I never ordered were binned and the sliver of half a fish was a bit rubbery after being reheated in the microwave. Won't order from again!

Quite disappointed. i wish it had some seasoning, at least salt. Tartar sauce and ketchup I assumed would be normal to send along. I can say it was the worst fish and chips I ever tried

Used to be pretty good, but since the latest change of ownership everything is overcooked or rushed, to the point of being burnt. To be avoided now.

chips were lovely but chicken burger was over cooked. Normally have no complaints with Davys. Delivery time changed but I expect Saturdays to be busy so can't complain

My order Delivery time changed 3 times food was freezing cold and my chicken fillets were soggy!

ordered it at 5.30pm delivery time kept changing .if you don't have drivers to do the job at least let the customer cancel the order without penalty of paying the full price. I won't be using the just eat app again. I'll go and collect it myself

Paid nearly £30. No fish and chips at all arrived. As usual, it was just eat that were blamed and only just eat that can resolve this despite it being the chippers mistake! Now we have no actual dinner the other things were sides to share. I was told I would have to contact just eat and re order which will cost me another fiver in service (ha!) and delivery fees!I asked if they could not just get someone to send the fish suppers but it was “no we’re really busy” wow. That’s 3 customers down.

Iv always ordered from here and never had any problems, but I was very unhappy with my order tonight! Not only was I missing a few bits of my order, but then the rest of the food I did receive was stone cold :( and onion rings were soggy!

Only had a Single sausage but was very good. Colleague had the sausage supper and thought it was also very good. 50p for the tomato sauce common Davie boy behave🤨 The fact not many places are open like that between the normal working hours is great👌🏻

Food not as good as it usually is unfortunately, tasted a bit like the oil in the fryer needed changed. Ordered on just eat for collection allowing 1 hour 45minutes, got the notification that order was ready but when I got there it hadn’t been cooked bit disappointed

The food was lovely and melt in your mouth. The driver was nice too. Will definitely be using Davey's Fish Bar again.

Was nervous to try this after all the negative reviews. Either they've changed who's working there, the reviews are lies or they have improved a lot. Chips were hot, fresh and crunchy and the fish was excellent 👌🏻

Fish supper very nice, not alot of chips. Next customer ordered the same got a mountain of chips..... hmmmmm.

Just nipped in for a quick bite and was served by a friendly young lad and the chips were the best I’ve had from a chippy for a while. 👍👍

Chips were actually not bad , seemed to be freshly cooked , but had an awful lot of small chips that were hard and inedible. The chipsteak was a mistake. Obviously not sold at lunchtime and reheated to the point that the battery was hard and could barely get my teeth thru it. Good job really , because when I did get through the armour, I found a dried out lump of meat akin to leather. Avoid . Avoid . Avoid

Go here now and then since moving near by but today Sunday 28th July will be the last time as I was given a portion of reheated chips as can be seen in the photo. Will travel further from now on

Chips were really brown in colour I think it comes from too much sugar in the original potatoes but not very nice to eat. Shame as usually high quality

Just got a call from this number claiming to be EE. VERY dodgy, knew it wasn’t cos I spoke by I EE twice over the last week and the number did not look familiar at all. Creepy and dodgy place.

Excellent food but ordered 2x 2 single fish cakes but only received 1x 2 single fish cakes. Not the first time this has happened.

Wiznah great… it was Superb!!! Opens at lunch and stays open all the way through to night. Nae many chippers do that these days. Food was freshly cooked. Fish was perfect and the batter was crisp. Prices are cheap, so excellent value. Had a blether with the wifie behind the counter. Very pleasant. It was so good I might nip back in for a second helping, if I wasn’t stuffed full.

Never had a worse service or foodstuff in my life... the woman frier who was in charge was extremely rude. I'm sure the staff will remember I came in with my rather large white Service dog and was told bluntly that only blind dogs were allowed inside where I was picking up an order. No issues with her severe lack of knowledge on service dogs being only for blind people but her manners and being downright rude and nasty and embarrassing to be on end of her tongue. Took my service dog outside to my chum and got my order only to get back to my chums house which is local to find the order missing a mock chop of all things and it wasaid for only to be told if we wanted to come back and get it was outrageous to say least. Matters not went back embarrassing enough to get the food I've been charged for regretting not listening to a local on the chipper telling me its too expensive and chips are rubbish. I can agree that the chips were half cooked hard not soft, simply gross chips with curry sauce yuck. Whoever says this place is decent and nice must be family members of friends of this business because on my first experience here I would rate eating out at the skip as more decent than here but again I'll return and see if they have improved their service because I shouldn't base my whole rating on overall service from other staff who get tarred with the same brush as this bad egg. This experience though I would say do nit give this business your money as its poorest batter poorest service and now one for a banter for sure.

Not sure what's happened but it used to be the best chipper in Aberdeen. Went in tonight and it was terrible. Chips were burned and rock hard but almost cold and the portion size has literally halved. Steak pie was again rock hard and burned. Looked like all new staff so not sure if the place has a new owner but I won't be back. such a shame as I have gone to Davy's for probably 30 years now. £6.50 for a basic supper is terrible.

The batter on the 'Homemade' Chicken fillets was a soggy and off putting. Didn't enjoy any of the chicken but the chips were fine.

Items were missing and i still havent had my refund yet

My order came then was wrong then had to wait 1 hours and half for correct order so altogether 2 hours and 30 mins for my order

Ordered from here a few years ago and it was AWFUL. Tonight I gave it another crack, and much much much better. Really nice fish supper. Will certainly be back. Staff lovely too.

My order put in at 17.52, it's just arrived 20.11, cold pizza no chips, absolutely furious!

Restaurant prepared food on time but no one showed up to collect it despite app saying courier was at the restaurant. A courier finally showed up to collect the food 60 minutes late.

My go to chipper. I always usually get the battered chicken fillets. Usually arrive hot and perfect. Tonight I got barely any chicken and mostly batter. Not great, went in the bin unfortunately

Food was great, just as expected from a traditional chipper! However, waiting for more than 30 mins after estimated delivery time isn't acceptable when order was placed in plenty of time! Will definitely use again but will probably just collect...

There is a definite big improvement with Davys fish shop ! Well done top marks fish and white pudding tonight were superb but , the chips were amazing , best I’ve tried in recent , well done all at davys bucksburn. Thanks

Food was finally delivered over an hour late and cold, delivery driver didn’t know where the main entrance for ARI was.

Food was 30 minutes late and wasn't particularly warm. The quality was okay but used to be much better in the past. The chicken fillets and chips were a bit of a disappointment. The fish appears to have been re-fried as it was quite tough. A real pity as it used to be one of the better chippers.

Food was brilliant I ordered the chicken burger outstanding as usual very good tasting and very good quality proper chicken as well not the jelly rubbish you get from elsewhere

Seems to be new owners , fry cook needs to sort himself out on orders, keeps forgetting and can be long waits, the ladies are great!

Always remembered this being an excellent chip shop, havent been for some time so went tonight and i will not be returning again ordered a chicken fillet supper only got chicken fillets witch were soaking with grease, didnt taste good either, the atmosphere inside was like someone had just died. Definitely not going to return to the greasy miserable dump again.

Good fish and chips place near Bucksburn. Easy access from main road. Owner is a friend and can easily vouch for his sense of quality. Tried a few items from them and all great. Recommended place.
