Ordered a chicken kebab and haggis supper for delivery, it took around 1 1/2 hours to arrive and was cold when it arrived, the chips were stuck to the box in cold lard !! the only thing that was eaten was the chicken and only because we were starving, everything else went straight in the bin, never again !!!

Chicken fillets were good and not at all greasy. Scampi was tasty. Staff pleasant. The premises however is in a bit of a sorry state…. The floor in the waiting area doesn’t look like it’s been washed in weeks & I came out not only stinking of the usual fryer smell (to be expected) but a horrible musty, damp & dirty smell. The food was good but the overall appearance of the place means we definitely won’t be rushing back.

Very overpriced. £11.95 for fish and chips, £1.75 for scan of soft drink. We wondered whether they could spare them!!! The fish was cut so thin we wondered whether they had cut one piece in two??? Give them their due the quality was good. But just felt ripped off. Our advice find somewhere else to eat.

Bastante terrible. ? y tan grasienta. Chips iguales, muy grasosos y empapados. Los nuggets de pollo bien.

Consistently Underwhelming – The Palace Chip Shop’s Pizza Falls Short** Over the past two months, I have given The Palace Chip Shop in Helensburgh three opportunities to impress with their *Pepperoni Passion with jalapeños* pizza, hoping that initial disappointments were merely isolated incidents. Unfortunately, each visit confirmed the same shortcomings, leaving me still searching for a reliable replacement since my former go-to pizzeria changed ownership. The primary issue lies in the pizza’s execution. Advertised as featuring *extra cheese and pepperoni*, the reality is far from the promise. The cheese is sparse, often hardened rather than properly melted, and lacks the rich, stretchy quality expected from a well-made pizza. The sauce is equally minimal, resulting in a dry, underwhelming base. Even the weight of the pizza suggests a lack of sufficient toppings—holding it feels like holding a shell rather than a properly loaded pie. While the staff are polite and service is efficient, the product itself does not meet basic expectations for a satisfying pizza experience. A good pizza should be generous with its toppings, balanced in flavour, and visually appealing—none of which were consistently delivered in my orders. Given that this appears to be a recurring issue rather than a one-off mistake, I cannot recommend their pizza in its current state. For those seeking a hearty, flavourful takeaway pizza, it may be worth exploring other options in the area. A shame, as I had hoped this would become my new regular spot.

Polite staff pleseant atmosphere but we should mention We stopped using this chop shop as the fish had a lot of bones through them and it seams they still have the same issue. Pizza very nice just a shame the fish got wasted due to the amount of bones in them.

Visited this place for a late lunch and wished I hadn't. What a let down and embarassment to tourism in the Loch Lomond area. Problem starts at the entrance, no one to greet or offer seating, two young lads at the bar who made no effort at welcoming. Ordered diluting orange - none avaialable, no mashed potatoes for the haggis, oh, you can have frozen chips instead. Nearly £18 for fish and chips - again, frozen variety. Young server spilled the hot chocolate my grandson ordered and just shrugged his shoulders instead of sorting it out. Tables sticky and steps leading up to the gents toilet, crying out for a clean and fresh paint. For an establishment such as this in a prime location, should be a quality place to visit. Surely, the owner or manager can see what's required. Will be a long time before I visit again - if ever.
