We got fish suppers from here on Friday night. The food was delicious. It was £19 for a standard haddock supper + standard haddock single. We will definitely come back again soon.

After seeing reviews for the vegan menu we decided to stop at Blackburn tonight. As I always do, I checked that vegan items were cooked in vegetable oil and separately from the meat products. The server told me he didn’t think so but they were made from vegan ingredients. I asked him to check and the person frying told me the same thing, they are vegan because they are made from vegan ingredients! You cannot advertise food as vegan and then cook it with meat! I am shocked that this happens and was made look foolish for asking. How many people have taken them to their word and ordered ‘vegan’ food!

Dry, cold chips and greasy fish. Not a good combo. Staff didn’t seem to have much of a clue what was going on and one customer had to come back in 3 times with the wrong items! I’ve tried it a couple of times now. Won’t try it again.

Plenty parking. The restaurant has tables if you want to sit in. It was very clean and spacious. Good menu with lots of choices. Staff were nice. Fridge had a good selection of drinks. The pie I had wasn’t the best but the rest of the food was good.

I got dinner from here on Monday night. The haddock suppers were really good - easily up there with the best I have tasted in Aberdeen city/shire. The chips were lovely and fresh too. The service was fine - nice and quick. The price was £17.20 for one supper and one single which is probably on a par with other places locally. Overall I would recommend this place to others.

Purchased a jumbo haddock, standard haddock and chips and onion rings. Jumbo fish was good enough but the standard was awful, extremely over cooked which could be seen as soon as I opened the box. Whoever fried it would have known this too. Onion rings were disappointing as I expecting homemade ones, not bog standard frozen ones.

My family and I stopped here after a flight from Tenerife (travelling with an 8 month old makes it a very long trip!!) The food was delicious and filling and just what we needed after our holiday. The staff were so friendly and the woman who served us gave us some complimentary onion rings while we waited for our food. We will definitely return here.

I was disappointed the last time I used it and again when I tried it recently. Found the servers rude and the food choices need updating. Don't they realise people have food intolerences?

The quality of especially the Fish was excellent, the chips were good. A waste of time phoning ahead to be ready in 10 minutes. The staff were serving any one who walked in first. After about 10 people had been served we found this irritating and asked where our order was. The girl's expression looked as taken aback. If they want to keep new customers and we are long term local from the next village they need to stop the nepotism

This Bistro is as good as it gets, there again last Saturday evening with friends and had an excellent dinner. Great starters of scallops & soup, lobster mains and one other main which escapes me, oh and managed a sweet, fabulous. A few drinks including a couple of bottles of wine, very. The sad news is, we were told it was closing permanently the following evening Sunday and it has, due to lack of business which is a terrible shame. We travelled all the way up from Laurencekirk picking up friends en-route as we have done in the past. It a shame an establishment like this have closed.
