Peartree Coffee House and Bistro in Aberdeenshire

This Bistro is as good as it gets, there again last Saturday evening with friends and had an excellent dinner. Great starters of scallops & soup, lobster mains and one other main which escapes me, oh and managed a sweet, fabulous. A few drinks including a couple of bottles of wine, very. The sad news is, we were told it was closing permanently the following evening Sunday and it has, due to lack of business which is a terrible shame. We travelled all the way up from Laurencekirk picking up friends en-route as we have done in the past. It a shame an establishment like this have closed.

Enjoyable lunch in a quiet street found only by using Tripadvisor. Extensive menu with great specials. We both ordered haddock with chips, one breaded and one battered. Large portions, well-presented and delicious.

Very modern clean decor but rather pricey for a lunchtime menu. Place quiet and lacks atmosphere. Waitress rattled off a complicated selection of 6 dishes from one menu, 4 from another - all very complicated and unimpressive. Feel the whole place is rather pretentious. Staff were pleasant but wouldn't rush to go back as food nothing out of the ordinary.

Good food, nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Great gluten free selection for Mrs B. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening. I have no hesitation recommending this restaurant: a real gem.

This is a must for fresh tasting good food. First time here, don't be the last. Clean bistro, good choice of food. The food itself is fresh tasty and presentation is excellent. Would recommend 👌

We went for a late lunch/early dinner. The service was great and food very tasty. Fish board and lobster went were excellent and the home made cakes were delicious.

We visited 29/5. The fact that it was busy told me it was a good decision to stop here for lunch. We ordered 2 of the seafood boards with each of the fish selections on offer and shared them. I have to say this was some of the best seafood I’ve eaten. Well presented & flavoursome. The service was excellent. I have no faults at all other than that we live too far away to visit more often. I did notice from the menu that they do a 2 course for £15. Although we didn’t try it, the meals that were coming out looked fantastic - thank you!

Been to the Peartree a good few times since moving to the Broch and have never been disappointed with the food and service. I always opt for the seafood as you can tell it is fresh and always perfectly cooked and presented. Staff are always absolutely lovely and nothing is too much for them.

Decor and appearance. The establishment is clean, bright and modern, which makes a bit of a change from the ‘traditional’ decor found in many restaurants in this area. Ambience Unfortunately for us, we arrived about half an hour before the evening rush started and the restaurant was almost empty at the time, filling up as we were just finishing our meal. The staff were attentive, without being over the top, well dressed and helpful. The only thing that was missing (for me) was some low music in the background. A little jazz would have added to the mood, in my opinion. Drinks It was good to see fair selection of drinks on the menu without it being overly ambitious. There were non-alcoholic cocktails, for example, at reasonable prices, and a good selection of alcoholic drinks with full descriptions, also reasonably priced. Menu The menu offered a good choice without being overly large. You certainly get the feeling that the chef had everything under control. Although I didn’t have the seafood selection ‘special’ , my wife did and she was very impressed with both presentation and taste. My own choice was duck to start, which was a delight of fresh fruit flavours and well cooked, actually making me looking forward to the many n course which was a two types of pork with red cabbage with a beautiful apple sauce with cider. I have a feeling that I will be returning to try some more of the menu very soon.

My wife and I have just been for Sunday lunch and I can honestly say that the food was absolutely fabulous. The confit pork cheek was the best starter that I have had and the pigeon breast was equally as good. The duck breast was perfect and the seafood board was amazing. Great, friendly staff adds even more to this lovely bistro which really promotes local seafood - in fact promotes exceptional food.

Very tasty, fresh and good fished cooked. The sirloin filet was also very good and we all enjoy our meal. I recommend you to go there

Wonderful place. The owner was really friendly. Had an enormous seafood platter & every mouthful was divine. On holiday so unlikely to go there again anytime soon :( but would definitely recommend to everyone. One of the best meals I have ever had.

I went to this restaurant on the strength of reviews on TA. The reviews were correct. The food here is fantastic. I picked from the Fish board. This is a bit like tapas in concept. It really worked and the 4 dishes I had were all fantastic. It was definitely worth the 30 minutes of additional travel to eat here. Absolutely loved it.

3 of us wanted a light meal as were headed to a party so we all had a starter and dessert. The food was amazing and the mocktails we enjoyed were delicious. We will definitely come back for a full meal next time.

We had a lovely Sunday lunch here today. First time I have visited. Menu was vast, service was prompt and very polite-lovely young lady waiting tables did really well on a busy day. Definitely one to return to and menu changes every six weeks too. 😀

We went for lunch and could not resist the seafood boards..Wow they were just amazing!! A beautiful restaurant with excellent service. Immaculate with so much attention to detail. I can’t wait to visit again

First visit here not sure what to expect but was blown away by quality of both food and service.

We have eaten here before and we had lunch the other day and yet again the food was absolutely fabulous matched only by the excellent friendly service. This restaurant really showcases local seafood. If you haven't been you are missing a real treat - would highly recommend.

Sunday late afternoon and was just thinking coffee and cake, which would have been great here. But amazing was the house speciality of fish tapas. Every dish was delicious, creative and mouthwatering. We shared 4 tapas which cane with fries and my partner had the Cullen sink too. Fantastic service too and would highly recommend for anyone visiting the area.

Visited on the recommendation of a friend and not disappointed. Only had coffees and hot chocolate (which comes standard with cream and marshmallows!) all excellent. The menu looked worth going back for an evening. Very friendly staff.

You really need to view the menu online the day before and try to narrow down what you might pick - so much choice! And when the food arrived it was amazing - all fresh and home made. The staff were very good - attentive and helpful but unobtrusive. Well worth a few more visits soon!

Really cannot speak highly enough of the dinner which we have just had at the Peartree. Seafood platter included lime monkfish, grilled langoustines, mussels in a wine and leek broth and a seafood skewer - all superb. Wife had a huge portion of absolutely delicious pasta carbonara. We had been on holiday all week and had eaten at a range of eateries in Nothumberland but this left all of them way behind. Very reasonably priced. Service very good.

Our go to restaurant here in Fraserburgh, the food is always top notch as is the service, lovely cocktails too.

Popped in for a coffee but after seeing the menu we decided to stay for lunch and was blown away by how good the food , service and atmosphere was here , , I had the cullen skink and a chicken sandwich while the gf had the Trawlermans bowl which was fantastic , the service from the 2 young members of staff was exemplory and pricing was very reasonable , its a shame its 30+ miles from home as this would be a goto all the time for us , when we're back will definitely try the seafood board as it looked amazing, highly recommended

So good to see a place in Fraserburgh showcasing the fantastic seafood landed there. The menu here has lots of tempting choices and the seafood board and lobster were amazing. £29 for locally caught lobster is an absolute bargain. Very good service from the friendly staff also. I wish the Pear Tree every success and hope to return soon.

If I could, I would give 10 stars for service! The food was so fresh. I ordered a half lobster which everyone could easily tell it was freshly caught. The Cullen Skink was so smokey. Delicious! The waiting staff was incredibly sincere and I couldn't help but to give a tip for his great hospitality.

Enjoyed two fab meals here this week - highly recommended for delicious food in a relaxed and friendly setting.

I'm not sure how we didn't know this place existed until last week given its only a 20 minute drive away but now we know we will be back. Nice modern interior and lovely staff compliment the food which was fantastic. I had blaggis bon bons and slow roasted pork belly with black pudding and my good lady had duo of prawn and langoustine followed by the monk fillet, everything tasted great and was properly cooked. Can't wait to go back.

Had amazing Sunday lunch. As always best quality food, fresh and cooked to perfection. Would suggest everyone to visit and enjoy verity of fresh seafood and meat dishes as well as vegetarian and vegan options.

Cheap ingredients made to look fancy .fish tasted like it had been frozen when told it was fresh my partner had a chicken dish that was good but fr a tiny peice of chicken with a few veg not worth it

Had the sea food platter and was fantastic the monkfish with haggis and whisky sauce was just amazing, my partner had grilled halibut and was fantastic too. Great food and great staff owner was friendly and attentive. Highly recommend.

The owner is not a nice person and I will.never go back . You would think she had a iron stick stuck up her bum way she treated us that night. We are the customers and she better remember this instead of slating us in her restaurant

Was here for a meal today and the food was brilliant. Great selection of seafood to suit everyones taste. Mixed grill was lovely and the size was unbelievable. First class puddings as well. Would definitely recommend.

This is a lovely restaurant, the food is of a very high standard. We shared the seafood platter, there was more than enough for the two of us. It's one of those restaurants where you squeeze in a dessert, not because you're hungry but the food is so delicious you can't stop eating. Avoid this place if you're on a diet. Will definitely go again.

Myself and work colleagues went in for our lunch, first class food, first class service and first class staff. The meals were out of this world and staff very friendly and helpful.

Excellent little restaurant in the centre of Fraserburgh, first class service with great variety in the menu. Tried Cullen Skink for the first time and loved it.

Service was really lovely. The meals were good size. I was hoping to try some traditional scottish food but found the menu a little disappointing. It was nearly £35 for a seafood lunch which I did think was a little over priced as it's near the fishing port. Some of the meals are a little over priced in my opinion for example mac and cheese with chips for £9.95 for lunch. Kids meals were really good value. It was very clean and didn't prebook which was also good.
