Side of cheese was melted in to one solid lump, chips were soggy and cold.

Not worth 30£ we've paid. Very disappointing, fish fillet super thin, jacket potatoe really small and cold inside and overall food was almost cold after delivery being 30-35 mins late. Quality of food was completely different- way worse- than when we were buying in person, in shop few weeks ago and we both loved it. I don't understand what changed, and why same standard can't be kept for both delivery and in person orders.

Great battered cheeseburger and bacon was really good too. most place's the bacon looks boiled but with Garioch it's looks and tastes amazing. Not a fan of the fattest chips in the world but they did taste really good. all round 5⭐️

Did not turn up even after I called the restaurant

Ordered using a 3rd party ap, it didn't arrive, tried to call the chip shop 10 times and just ringing and ringing with no answer, sent 3 emails... 4 hours later I got a reply and they agreed to refund me... still waiting on a refund and 18 pound down and nothing to show for it... looking at these reviews, I think they need to seriously sort their business out because this is very poor to operate like this.

forgot kids juice & fish tasted like it had been sitting a while.

I have not received the order, so called over 10 times, no answer, then emailed 3 times, still no answer... 18 pound to be sat hungry with no dinner or no answers 😕 avoid !!!!

I've never been to a chippy that comes out light on the chips, £7.40 for fish is fine, but charging £3.50 for a portion of chips a kid would have found small isn't good enough. need to do better

First time eating from here and very disappointed. The two lots of Large chips I ordered were at most no bigger than small and the pie I ordered for my son wasn’t even in the bag when I got home. I did call the shop and the girl left me on hold for ages before coming back on the phone to say there was nothing she can do about it. Definitely won’t bother going there again.

Put in an order tonight for delivery they called back after an hour to say they didn't have one of the things ordered no problem son changed what he wanted. Finally got the order and was really disappointed some of the chips were black and really dry the fish the batter was overcooked and fish was tasteless burgers went down a treat with the boys but overall really disappointed for an award winning chippy. Won't be back!!!

Food didn't arrive until 20 minutes after the latest time given on the app, which given we'd already been waiting 1.5 hours was a long time. The app then told us the food had been delivered when it hadn't. Food was lukewarm on arrival and the juice we ordered wasn't delivered. Disappointing as we have had many excellent experiences previously.

Disappointed with missing items

ordered at 5:15, estimated between 5:55-6:15. store was contacted at 6:35 as still hadn't arrived. Got told it would now be delivered 6:45. Requested some money back as an hour and a half for two sausages and a chicken is a long time. Was declined money back as "store was busier than expected". I think a small refund as a gesture of good will to a returning customer who hasn't complained before when the order is late, would have been a nice thing to do. Unfortunate and disappointing.

Food was cold, onion rings were undercooked and the fish was dry. And we received a steak pie instead of a mince

The cooked food was good though quite cold when it arrived. The ice cream had obviously been defrosted before, the tubs arrived here hard, they are conjealed and icy on the top. So can tell from that, the sauce is chewy and bitter. Await refund

Heard loads of good things about this chippy but I got a macaroni pie that was quite hard and not much flavour I also got a chicken burger and the massive chicken fillet I got was very chewy and not enjoyable I know sometimes things like this happens but don’t like spending money to get that given to me

Not happy AGAIN, and this is just becoming a regular occurrence. Waited almost an hour and a half for it to get delivered! the food was cold. The order was missing the pickled eggs. And the chicken fillets AGAIN were overcooked and not even edible.

It's a bar in Garioch that sells fish, chips and Pizza. I am now 2 stone heavier but happy.

our last meal was spot on, everything was super tasty. We ordered the same items today and the fish was overcooked, and my chicken burger turned out to be a dry beef burger! it's a shame as the last meal was so good

Been here before and it was really good but seems a hit or a miss. Food was late and a bit cold which I don’t mind too much as we live further away, however not really worth what we paid. Still decent though

Warning: do not order food delivery from this place. Our Wednesday evening order took a completely unacceptable 1hr 50mins to arrive. When it did, all the food was soggy & lukewarm. The 3 portions of onion rings were inedible, like slimy circles of yuk. A total waste of £70. The resounding opinion of this family is, "Never again!".

We recieved this order late. It was cold. The meal was refused at the door and returned to the restaurant. My partner called the restaurant and was informed that the money will be refunded with imediate effect. We have NOT received a refund.

Got a child’s sausage meal and she absolutely would not eat the sausage, kept saying it was horrible, I tried it and she wasn’t wrong. I took a bite out of my partners chicken goujons and got a mouthful of gristle which put me off instantly, my baked tattie was good. But all round, we were disappointed, we’d waited all day to get food and it wasn’t up to scratch unfortunately.

I have ordered and collected from the Garioch fish bar before and I know the food is great but this was the first time having old delivered. The food arrived 40 minutes after the estimated delivery time and the food was no longer warm.

chicken Fillets are back to normal and as delicious as ever. thanks for not sticking with the cheaper ones, these are the reason I come back every week, we'll that and the rest of the order was great as always.

To much batter on rib really greasy , wrong drinks again and late

normally no issues with Garioch, but food was barely even warm when it got here. £6.60 for chicken fillets - there was 4 very small bits of over cooked chicken. They wasn't even edible, they was that over cooked and got put in the bin. I wouldn't of cared about the delivery time if it was worth the wait. Disappointed as its the only chip shop I normally use.

We look forward to ordering every Friday. But the last 3 weeks the chicken fillets have been small, overcooked and the chicken stringy and chewy. really disappointed. I guess they must have changed supplier. But not for the better.

I hadn't used it for sometime and I thought I would give it a try I was very pleased with the food and service girls were happy to help you and the food was first class and the place looked clean and tidy.

Nipped in for a large chips to share with the family... Very disappointing when I opened the box, what a piddly portion for the price... If that was a large I dread to think what the small/medium portions would be. A rip off...

This is my first bad review in years for this place. One of the battered sausages was over cooked and a bit burnt. Large chips £5, portion size is ridiculously small for the price. Chips weren't cooked properly, very soggy.

Very happy with the service, all food was lovely, fish and chips very nice, gluten free option was very good as my young lad is gluten free so very pleasing to have a gluten free option. Great service from the young staff. Sorry no photos too nice and eaten quickly 😀

Rubbish total rubbish, Couldn’t fry to save their life, jumbo haddock pre fried dried up chips very brown, 2 young men on duty, recommend owner get rid quickly whilst he has a business left. July 2024

where do you get your fish from..I get more fish & chips in arbroath for the price of your jumbo fish!!..less hiding your medium fish in batter..we want a jumbo fish..come down to arbroath or coastal towns

Food was just as expected, king rib wasn’t great but everything else was good quality for the cheap price. Would recommend if you fancy a cheap chippy.

Bought the jumbo fish with medium chips as a meal to share with my partner - it turned out to be a waste of money because the very thin piece of fish that was dry looked large because of the amount of batter on it. I didn't want to buy batter I wanted fish! Not a good experience. Not a good meal and overall very disappointing

The app does not state that things already come with chips! I ordered a separate portion of chips to go with the jumbo haddock and macaroni pie and then when I got home realised they came with chips already! Pie and fish were good but slightly overwhelmed on the chips front! Would be good if the app stayed that items came with chips as I did think £9.35 was too good to be true for a jumbo haddock with chips!

Waited 1hr 40 mins for delivery and only live 10 mins away. When food finally arrived baked tattie was swimming in mayo and other meals were cold and awful. Only gave 1 star as wouldn't post with none

We had a take away, the food was piping hot, the fish was tasty and not wet or greasy. There was a little bit of a wait, but that was expected as there was a line of people waiting. The chips were great too (I’m a fussy chip eater) and the service was welcoming and quick. 10/10.

Kids nuggets were hard, my child wouldn’t eat them. Drinks were missed from our order which was an inconvenience as we were finished our food by the time they came. First time we’ve used GFB for a while after being disappointed last time, sadly won’t be using anytime soon.
