Sorry to say the batter was not right it was,t crispy it was like rubber not a nice crisy bubly batter

I was led to believe the fish shop was taken over by the chap that had fish shop Donwell ..i have just been & got fish bites & chips ..i am so sorry but they were disgusting chips cold & fish bits 2 out of 3 was dry ...i used to go to Donwell chippy they were perfect so don't know what happened..at Gillies so sorry..so hope if i do go back be better ..my friend had fish & chios from you the other day said they were lovely ..so sorry don 't know what happened to our tonight so so disapointed.....

I don't know what they have changed but it is awful now its that bad I was sick after eating it pls avoid

Absolutely terrible. Waited 40 minutes for my order then gave it to someone else who came in 15 minutes after me. Staff were surly and not helpful at all. Last time I come here for anything. Absolutely rubbish staff could do with some customer training

food was good. forgot the garlic butter on my pizzas and a full carton of curry sauce had opened in the bag befor delivery.

Do not waste your money here! Charging a fortune and the food AND service is shocking. I'll be calling health inspectors to see how often you are changing your oil etc!! Look at the state of this food, absolutely soaking with oil, the fish (which had a funny smell) went straight into the bin! The chips were fried at least 3-4 times, some dark, some light (zoom in) all that greasy, that they soaked through the bottom of the cardboard and paper liner??!..Bad aftertaste of the fish and the chips, like stale, old oil...terrible!!

I am a regular so I know the staff well. The manager was upset today at a review and she phoned to check with me as my chips were from the same batch as the 'child' that lodged the bad review. I know for a fact the reviewer was a school kid as I was standing behind and was the last to be served...... Not even going to comment. I had the ribs and chips and it was to the usual high standard. Chris's might not be the cheapest but one thing you cannot fault them for is product quality. Keep up the good work.

Under new management! Spotlessly clean, friendly staff, gorgeous food cooked to perfection! Value for money so why go anywhere else?

We go most months and find the food and service excellent. The chip portions are huge - suggest one small for 2 people. Easy to park
