I'm not the type of person who leaves reviews, but Wollaston Fish Bar is pretty much perfect. I've genuinely never had a bad meal from them, the food is always piping hot and delicious. In terms of service the staff are great - would always recommend.

Not my usual Fish bar food was good. However its not all about delivero, serve the customer in front of you. Also unprofessional to shout at your staff whilst customers are in ear shot.

Great people, great food, good sized portions , clean, fresh and never grezzy or gressy.

Me and my missis fancied a chippy tea. She had the mixed kebab meat and chips. I had a sausage and chips. The sausage was bloody massive. It was really nice as well. Not like from the other chippies. I should have took a picture of it, but I'm a fatty so it got scranned before it knew what was going on! The curry sauce is different too, but very tasty. I'd definitely have from here again. The chips were nice too.

Only put 1 start as cannot use a 0 star, awful food fish bits literally dripping in oil, battered sausage was burned to its life hanging on, chicken a mushroom pie wow looked like it was from Lidl no pukka pies what chippy doesn't use pukka pies clearly thus one awful awful food never ever again to use

Always fresh and hot. Lovely polite staff. If you want quality then this is the chippy for you.

Went for the for the first time. Very overpriced very little portions of chips. Got home. Two kebab orders wrong. Mixed chicken included lamb which don’t eat and could not eat it. Chips were cold even though cooked fresh. Hardly any meat on kebab. My chicken kebab had no salad. Order cost over £20. Phoned chip shop they did offer to refund food but couldn’t do it over the phone and was told to travel back. By this time I just excepted it that I will never go back again.

Bought 2 kebab meat and chips with salad, portion sizes are small for the price, completely plastered in thick chilli sauce, salad was extremely limp maybe 2 pieces of lettuce if that. First time I had used this chip shop, definitely be my last.

Grumpy manager, stressed workers, reheated chips from the lunchtime session and sad chicken meat. Used to be a great chip shop but now you are better off heading pretty much anywhere else.

The BEST fish & chips in Stourbridge...tasty, fresh and not prepared in oil that has "seen better days"...and welcoming and polite to all ages

Chips were some of the best I've had in the area. I ordered the kebab wrap. However, the bread for the wrap was rock solid when I came to eat it, which was only 10 minutes after leaving the shop. Otherwise it was great food and good value.

Just popped in for a quick tinned roe and chips. 25 minute wait, ridiculous amount of time to wait for an uncomplicated request. If you want fast food, avoid this place. All online and telephone orders have priority over walk ins. I shall not be visiting this place again.

You think the best chippers are by the seaside well they ain’t . This is by far the tastiest, chipper in the history of chippers. So your sick n tired of having sausage n chips where the sausage is full of gristle and been sitting in the hot rack for a few hours bite into it and in crumbles into your mouth with the exception of the gristle. Not on this ocassion amigos. A real and I mean real but hers quality sausage cooked to perfection with no safety warning needed for biting into fat bubbles just epic. And the chips wow chips not actually soaked in oil n grease cooked in oil that’s been used for weeks on end. Epic. Then the fish, it was like theses lads n lasses jumped into the car drove down to brixham n picked the fish up this morning. Absolutely unreal. Not the best chipper in Stourbridge or the midlands but without doubt the world. Rick stein you need to get down here and get schooled by these lot. Thanks so much for the epic dinner. I shall be back tonight once I convince the mrs the chips are slimming world friendly

Fantastic fish & chips... fish white & chunky. Battered chips are great but only available Tuesday & Thursday.

This used to be a great fish & chip shop, last night we had the meal deal fish and chips the portions were that small it was ridiculous, not even a child’s portion smallest fish I have ever seen, used to be a big queue on Fridays nothing last night, now know why people voting with there feet, will never use again. Only used this chip shop, because merchants chip shop was so busy queuing on the pavement.

Having had a very poor meal and service two months ago I was contacted by Loucas who, in fairness apologised profusely and asked me to give them another go and gave me a voucher. So I tried again today, tried to order for collection, website kept saying shop closed, despite it being 5.30.and the shop clearly open! No problem I rang the shop. They took my order and said they would sort the voucher in the shop. Duly arrived at the time. All good until it came to paying, ‘that is not a voucher’ despite looking at the email with the voucher reference😡😡😡. How do we know you haven’t used it? What! Eventually got my food having been told they had no control over what was happening in the cloud. Got food home having asked for one of the fish to be lightly battered- of course it wasn’t. Now just, after 40 minutes back home I get this text. ‘Unfortunately we are unable to accept your order. We apologise for the inconvenience.’ What a joke Loucas you asked for a second chance and it was a mess. No more

We have been using Wollaston Fish Bar since the 1980s Our last experience was quite frankly appalling. Ordered via the app for collection 6.35 - to be called at 5.10pm to say they were ready!! Refused the collection at 5.10pm and collected at 6.35 as ordered. The soggy luke warm chips and over cooked fish batter must have been hanging around for an hour and re served to us at the appointed time. Will be feeding back directly to the shop but feel so let down. Takin our business elsewhere in future.

Great food and lots of choice including vegetarian and gluten free

Food was tasty though a little cold, but that was probably due to visiting shortly before closing time

My son ordered 3 lots of fish and chips and a wrap and chips for delivery at 6.20 we went to pick them up at 7. Fish was burnt service was awful they couldn’t be bothered never again The driver had them in the delivery bag waiting for 4 other orders no one in the shop

Probably the worst fish and chips that we have had for along time. Waited over 20 minutes after paying and Just Eat couriers coming in and getting their food immediately. Chips were dry, tasteless and very overcooked , the fish was small and watery and not very hot. Very disappointed, it used to be a good chip shop, don’t know what’s gone wrong.

Food lovely and big range but always so busy that there is a wait or mistakes made. Order via the app to go and collect and no matter how long you leave it before coming to collect they only seem to start the order when you get there. Usually something missing like a drink from kids meals when ordering a few meals together.

Pies not very nice . Chips average. And expensive. There are cheaper chip shops in the local area with better food.

Used to be my local and used to thoroughly enjoy and support weekly. However in the last 6 months the service speed and standard has dropped dramatically. Walk in orders seems to be overlooked and slowed for the takeout orders and half the time there is always something either missing or the wrong item when we get home. I also find the quality of both the fish and kebab meat has changed recently as I find myself enjoying other fish and chip shops fish much better I’d like to give you a few more chances however I get reluctant due to the constant price increases (which are under stable) but don’t compare to the decreasing service standard Hope to visit again soon and change my review to suit a better outcome. One thing I will say came recently for battered chips and they were lush as always.. please make this a more common thing during later week!

Orange chips!! We heard about the legendary battered chips and had to try them on their midweek special menu. So delicious. We also ordered cod and S&P squid chunks. It was all brilliantly cooked and fresh. Will return when we are back in England. Blackcountry has the best people and the best chips.

I read some of the reviews which were good so I decided to try their food. Unfortunately the battered chips tasted awful and you didn't get alot for your money. I waited for the fresh batch of chips to be cooked only to discover that they looked and tasted nasty. In fact I think that there were some old plain chips battered and recooked mixed in with the fresh chips. You could definitely taste the difference. I have worked in chippys years ago so I don't usually like leave bad reviews because businesses have to make a living but I have to work hard for my money to.

What has happened to this place, was always 5 star for me before. Ordered mini cod in breadcrumbs as a value box meal. More breadcrumbs than fish and overcooked almost to the point of being burnt, had to throw it away. Expensive delivery charge for just over a mile. Will be avoiding for a while. Disappointed, used to be a great chippy

Recently went to this chippy having moved to the area and the food was quite nice so we thought we'd give them another go. I wasn't overly impressed with the portion size for how much it cost. This time how ever took 15 minutes to receive our order despite having 5 people working . An over crowded kitchen and clearly stressing staff lead to a poor service. The food we received this time was awful. My partner's fish was half batter and full of grease , if you use a grease trap this would resolve this issue and they're cheap. My food wasn't the nicest and the portion is down right theft. I paid £7.15 for a mix meat and chips and the box was majoritively chips, barely any meats and the sauce I'd asked for was slathered on just the meat leaving it absolutely swimming in sauce. I had salad last time and thought this is why I didn't have as much meat so ordered it without salad and they just crammed more chips in its place. You'd get the same portion of meat from a small meat and chips from another chippy for less than a fiver. Staff couldn't care less they just want you in and out , some of whom just awkwardly watch you. For the price you pay , the portion size and food quality you receive and the service provided I won't be returning. It's just down right greedy

Order by phone on online so you don’t have to wait. They are very popular so you can expect to wait unless you pre order particularly on a weekend. Super helpful over the phone and a great service. Recommended

I didn't realise we were rationing kebab meat. That is either really poor, or the price of potatoes has skyrocketed.

Order mixed kebab ,when it came kebab meat tasted and smelt off !! Asked for battered chips came plain.called to complain and was asked to order a replacement,ordered mini fish and chips and pie and chips ,turned up with no fish !! Chips were cold and battered ones were disgusting,hard and burnt !! Pie was over cooked ,pastry was like cardboard ,two pieces of meat and dried up gravy ,had to wait again for fish to be delivered,when it turned up was swimming in grease !! All ended up in the bin ! Total waste of money,not the first time we have had issues with them ,but won't be using them again !!!!!!

We have used this fish n chip shop on a regular basis for a long time.However the last few times we did I felt the quality had gone down so we stopped using it and went elsewhere. However last night I fancied fish n chips and because they offer gluten free ( which I have to have) on Saturday evenings I decided to try it again. The large fish was more like a mini fish and was all batter with very little fish which was dry and tasteless.The chips were mainly the small end pieces of potatoes and didn’t taste very fresh. It’s a shame as they’re good regarding understanding food allergies and intolerances but I won’t be giving them my custom again unfortunately.

Food cold and over cooked . Waste of £20.phoned to ask where order was told it was on way arrived 25 mins later .

Catering for gluten free option excellent. Very helpful, friendly and reassuring when enquiring and followed up with superb fish and chips. Highly recommended.

Always excellent haddock here and great you get a choice of batter or breadcrumbs as batter tends not to agree with me.

Worst fish and chips I have ever had. Fish very dry and seemed like it had been reheated. Ordered lightly battered for my wife but came with the same amount of batter than mine and hardly any fish. Would not return.

Don't bother unless your ordering for delivery. I went in for kebab meat & was told they had none, when you could clearly see they had some, But I was told that was for deliveries. Shocking service

The fish tastes fresh and the batter is crisp. The delivery service is very quick and efficient, the staff are friendly and helpful.

The service is absolutely shocking, don’t expect to be served quickly at all, because they don’t seem to have any system in place at all. They are to busy doing the Uber eats orders. Won’t be using them again as this was the second time using them and the service was just the same.

The portion that we have just paid nearly £10 for is tiny. This is supposed be a large fish and large chips. They also taste like they have been reheated and are supposed to be battered . We usually go somewhere else but went here out of convenience. We won't be returning unfortunately.

Hands down the worst steak and ale pie and chips ever!!!! The pie was dry has a bone, no gravy and the pastry was soggy. The battered chips were rock hard and inedible and went straight in the bin along with the pathetic excuse for a pie. Absolutely dreadful experience!

Over rated. Its a nice looking place and the food is ok but nothing out of the ordinary. There are loads of chippys that are better and cheaper. Would be nice to see another chippy open on the same road or close by.

It's OK most the time it's a shame the staff don't listen . They are younger but all the same I like to get what I pay for ..not get home to find out missing stuff

Thank you for getting my meal ready an hour earlier than what Google said it would be and you were right it was brilliant my wife said it was worth all the smells she puts up with every day as she passes by 3 to 4 times a day as she is a key worker

Chips are tasty, but very overpriced same goes for the pies etc

We use this place 2 or 3 times per month but we’re finding the quality varies a lot. We’ve had great fish and. Hips on occasion, but tonight we just picked up some chips en route home. They were like warm, pale, flaccid and stuck to the paper. Why can’t they be cooked more so they’re golden and crispy. If you’re selling mainly chips, then take the time and effort to make them great.

Had some beautiful fish and chips from here this evening- perfectly cooked. Like all chip shops the standard of food can vary (depending on how long ago it was prepared, quality of potatoes etc) but they're pretty consistent and the staff are friendly with service usually quick too. I suspect the 'one star' reviews posted are fake and malicious.

Absolutely disgusting food. Do not visit. Ordered 2 pies, and the pastry is rock hard and the inside is all dry and steak was hard with no gravy. Chips was also very dry and luke warm. Wouldn’t even give it to the dog. Funny how they say it’s an award winning chippy!!

Chips quite cold and the quality and portion size left a lot to be desired. Will not use it again.

Pretty disappointing. Below the usual standard. Ordered a small chips for my daughter, literally about 11 chips. About the same in the kebab. Chips tasted like they were hours old and cold. App said preparing even though it had been ready a while. No staff wearing face masks. Will go elsewhere next time.

A very busy place. Ordered a large fish and chips and got a whale sized piece of cod - enough for two! Cooked to order.

Food is fantastic and service is as good as it could be, it's only fault is on peekdays it's too busy for it to handle, staff start yelling over each other and organisation falls apart plus incredibly long wait times if you order online However the variety is amazing and the quality is superb

Placed an order for delivery today and was very disappointed with the standard of the three meals that were ordered. I had steamed fish and sweet potato chips which were barely warm. The regular chips on the other two meals were not the best and the large sausage that my son wanted was overcooked and just about warm again. We have had food delivered from here before,and have always been pleased, but today I felt that it had been prepared when we placed the order which was two hours before delivery

Lovely delivary service through just eat. The sausages are lovely from the local butcher. Yum yum chips are not greasy just right. Fresh roe is nice sliced down the middle so cooked even. I'm not keen on their cod though did not taste like cod and batter was not very good. Don't know why? Mushrooms in batter bit over cooked for my liking but still nice. That's all we have tried and a honest review still room for improvement over all good chip shop good sevice.

So we waited another 10 minutest What’s the point in ordering online? How weird. Ordered on line and when I went to collect the meal after the advised 30 minutes it was still not ready. Having travelled from overseas I was really looking forward to a traditional fish and chip dinner. Unfortunately the fish was over cooked and dry with the batter more than a little crispy. The chips were soggy and soft. A thoroughly disappointing meal. The only positive is the meal came in a biodegradable paper-type container. I would not waste my time or money here again.

Placed a order today and was asked if I wanted a quick order hahaha 1hour and. 20 mins later it finally arrived batter on fish was soggy and the rest of the order cold. What a waste of money!!

As always it was excellent. On this occasion I had fresh row and chips. It was delicious and piping hot. The row was just the right size for my appetite is along with the scoop of chips. The staff were great and very helpful.

Good quality food as always. Also i just wanted to day what the member of staff did for the homeless man, paying for him to have some chips was endearing to see. You had a pink hat and apron. I think that was a really nice thing for you to do
