Lovey staff, always having a laugh which is good to see! Amazing fish and chips definitely worth every penny. Cheeky I know but I’d say sack Friendly Fisheries off (miserable bunch)

Well this was my first visit to New Lodge Fisheries on the 18/09/2024 , I entered the shop with the intention of dining inside with my mother . I did take a look at the dining area to the right as I entered, then this god awful smell hit us . I discovered they were propping open a rear door to the building with the Biffa waste bin . The smell was putrid . We just couldn’t stand the smell so we left . So I can’t comment on the standard of Fish & chips or the staff . I was really looking forward to trying them out . Hopefully New Lodge Fisheries can address this problem and get it sorted .

I feel bad complaining but the fish smelt bad and didnt taste good it was really greasy.we threw it away.£20 is alot of money

The fish and chips were excellent and the service very good. Only gave atmosphere 3 as it was closing time and I was the only 1 in.

The food came on time but it was cold so it wasn’t the drivers fault the fish looked and smelt awful it was all soggy because it had gotten cold

Worst chips i have had in a long time. Very pale hard Uncooked chips ,asked for salt and vinegar but got non. Two bites and threw the rest. Fish was ok but nothing special. Service ok but the friends of a staff member sat on the food countertop having a conversation across the room was off putting

My advice is ditch the polystyrene boxes. We ordered three meals, 2 came in poly boxes and the fish were soggy and swimming in grease. My sons fish and potato scallop were wrapped in paper and the batter was crispy and appetising. I can honestly say I didn't enjoy my dinner as it was just soggy, chewy and "sweaty" I probably wouldn't order from them again until they start to wrap all there fish and chips in paper.

Fish was dry. chips were ok irish curry was nice and the Chinese curry was nice too but for the price cant say it was value for money

Excellent fish and chips, chips perfect and hot hot hot, fish had crispy batter and soft inside. I don’t understand why people have written such moaning reviews. It is great fresh food and well priced. Lovely friendly staff and we event shared a pudding of custard which was fab with apple pie. All Delicious.

Went in tonight at seven oclock waiting to be served there were three people working hanging around the till area laughing and joking over text messages like bloody school children I was ignored great way to run a business owner

Our favourite chip shop in Halifax. I love their chips and scallops as do the kids. It's dead easy to park too. Only gripe is I wished they opened later on a Sunday

Excellent food and deliver service

Tasty food...little more cost than where I normally go but we'll reflected in portion size! Lovely delivery driver followed the notes I gave for delivery to a T! Definitely use again!

Absolutely delicious! I ordered after a hard day at work so I left a message letting them know how I was looking forward to my tea later that evening they replied with the message "hope this makes your day better :)" it definitely did! You could tell they put love and care into it, I had a lovely evening with some yummy food and it was a good price as well. Will definitely order again.

What a great fish and chip shop. Great menu choice and different curry sauces also. Like the fact that they take your order as you go in and it's cooked freshly as you wait. Lovely fish and chips and very friendly staff who are always very chatty. Keep up the great food and customer service.

2nd time coming here, I've almost given up on a lot of my personal local fisheries however here the food is top quality and the setting in and outdoors is amazing. Totally recommend it.

Consistent fish and chip shop! You can always rely on the Lodge to provide good fish and chips. They have a good selection of drinks and even do ice cream. Good choices and varied curry flavours is a bonus. You can also sit in with your food in the attached cafe/restaurant. So overall, great chippy and I'd 100% recommend

I was waiting for my Mum to come out of the hospital ( anyone who has been there will know its impossible to park) and I went for a wander finding this lovely little place in the middle of a park, haddock, chips and traditional curry.....just what the doctor ordered. The fish was cooked fresh and everything was hot and served with a smile, yes fish is expensive and so are chips thanks to the addition of VAT from the government snatchers but thats not the fault of the food industry...if you don't want to pay for a decent plate of fish go to Mc shites and eat a 4 quid plate of sugar , three year old frozen beef and some soggy salad....mmmm delicious.

I had a call from the restaurant to say that just eat drivers weren’t available. I didn’t know that I had to delete order and order then turned up 1 and 1/2 hours late. I had already gone out to buy something else so now I have the original order sat in my kitchen going cold. I blame your drivers not the restaurant

I ordered through just eat, a large fish& chips and a small fish & chips, needless to say the price difference of both, but u could not tell the difference and I was very disappointed, I won't be ordering from them again !!

I walked up there with Muttley as it was getting dark as I was perishing, needed a sit down and wanted a drink for her ladyship. I ordered and it was cooked on the spot. A very kind staff member said not to worry about leaving the pooch as she'd bring the food out to us & did. It was perfect, steaming hot with a pot of Yorkshire Tea to wash it down with. As we used to say ' just what the doctor ordered ' . Fully refreshed and thawed out we wandered off home & I didn't even have any washing up to do so a result in my book 📙 x

Quick service, I had a fishcake butty. Cake was overcooked, dry, and had a tiny amount of fish in. Disappointing.

Chips are really good. Battered sausage was ok. The fish bites were well overcooked and hard with the tiniest sliver of fish inside which was disappointing.

What an absolute shambles, waited WELL over an hour still no delivery, eventually phoned the shop only to be told they were still waiting to assign a driver, I asked how long & the response was again shambolic, they repeated the comment they are awaiting to assign a driver, suggested I cancel the order & replace the order again or cancel, so I cancelled, placed an order elsewhere then phoned me back to say they now had a driver, too little too late, how much longer would I have waited, nearly 2 hours of my life wasted, starving is an understatement

Average food, the chips were hard in the middle and lots of 'bad bits' on them, the fish was fine. I'm self employed so visit a lot of cafes/fish and chip shops, and this is without doubt the most expensive in Halifax, unfortunately also nowhere near the best...

Ordered Fish and chips 3 times Waited 20 mins for fish , fish was dry and got 3 tiny portions of cold chips . I rang and spoke to a lady who offered to give us one more bag of chips if we went back, We declined , which is why I gave another star for service . Won’t be returning.

I ordered a small and a large fish. They came and were both the same size. You cannot charge more for a bigger size if there is not actually going to be any difference. They were both small!!

Driver was driving around with my order for over an hour food was delivered cold and soggy not the restaurants fault.

Food portions were a complete rip off, chips under cooked all in all very poor

Food’s good but they didn’t had any place to eat. Despite asking them “ can I sit in your full empty restaurant”. They said “no”🥲. They had given me one piece of haddock for approximately 9pounds and chips. Food tasted that it had no lard, slightly salty and slight taste of vinegar despite saying them to add. Overall food was good, not bad. When it comes to value for money we have better options in Halifax

Great fish and chip shop right next to the park. Good choice and plenty of attentive staff. They have outside seating as well which is great. Plenty of drinks, ice creams, and sweets for people wanting anything other than fish and chips.

Don't go here it's a blatant rip off and the food is sub par £3 quid for s portion of chips that's so small I went to the local shop after ........no I won't take my revue down why should I what is it people are only allowed to leave reviews you like

Prices match the going rate, it’s a difficult period for the fish and chip industry, however staff are always friendly and try their best. Amazing choice of curry sauces, they have Irish curry which is different but very nice. Thank you

Some chips still hard, got next to no food and cost £13.50! Chip butty cost £3.50 and had about 10 chips in it. Just huge disappointment
