The Hippie Haddock in Calderdale

My local chippy. Whopping portions. Perfect crispy batter on the fish. Good chips. Only let down no original curry sauce. But that's just a me thing. Great service and a very fair price for the insane portions. And that's a good thing.

Hippie haddock is a take away, not a restaurant. The fish and chips are amazing as are the mushy peas. Recommend to all who love fish and chips!!

Got to say we are blessed with some good chippies but this one is the best around, the fish is to die for.

Popped in here for fish and chips after reading previous reviews but have to say I've had better from other establishments. The fish batter was crispy but oh the fish was so dry the chips were chewy and didnt seem fresh.Maybe I arrived at the wrong time 6pm as no one else was in the shop so sorry but may not be visiting again.

First time trying the hippie haddock and wow will return the batter in the fish was fluffy and light hard to find . The kids said they do the best sausages. And its not oftern my kids compliment ha. Beautifull

I love this place (or is it plaice ?). If you order a fish they also give you some chips !. Very friendly staff very fast service. Good parking opposite in a small car park with 1 free hour parking

It's a chippie. They do very nice fish and chips. The best in the area. What else is there to say? The salt and vinegar is free and the curry sauce is good.

Esta no es mi local pero me pase esta muy frecuentemente y es mi preferido fish and chips. La comida siempre es a nuestro gusto y a un precio muy razonable. El servicio es muy familiar que funciona bien después de un largo día o si estoy llamando con mis niños. El servicio es siempre rápido y sentir como parte de la comunidad aunque no comer pescado y patatas fritas también regularmente. Sin duda merece la pena una visita.

Visito el Hippie eglefino siempre que puedo. Estaba impecablemente limpio y el personal es muy amable. La comida es de primera clase, fresco y cocinado a la manera tradicional. Si quieres probar el mejor pescado y patatas fritas y toda una variedad de comida tradicional, entonces recomiendo encarecidamente El Hippie abadejo.

I went the hippy haddock for first time. ooohhh yum the fish is freshly cook!! Well done hippy haddock we will definitely again!!!

Very friendly on every visit, great portions, but the mushy peas are excellent, stewed overnight they are delicious!

llamado a dar el abadejo quizás hasta una prueba y quedé muy impresionado 2 adultos y 2 niños bien alimentados incluso mi compañero estaba impresionado y ella es muy exigente sobre su pescado y patatas fritas

Nos encontramos con esta Chippie por cambiar y encantados de haberlo hecho. El pescado y las patatas fritas era mejor increíble que he tenido incluso los comilones niños disfrutaron cada último bocado. Si quieres pescado apropiada y patatas fritas y un excelente precio visita el abadejo hippie no te defraudará xx

O.M.G I lurve the fish and chips from here. I have them all the time. The fish is alwasy freshly cooked for you, not like others that have them standing there going soggy. I particularly don't like lots of batter on mine and they do my fish especially to my liking. You get loads of chips too. My favourite is fish butty, massive t-cakes, with chips and gravy, yum yum. I would recommend this place to anybody who loves proper fish and chips done the traditional Yorkshire way, ie no skin on fish and cooked in dripping. Ooooh I want some more now I've written this review! Oh and if you want a laugh the mother and son duo serving on are a good double act when you get them working together.

called in for fish and chips but got so much more!!! the staff are so friendly and welcome you straight away. I was asked how I would like my fish cooked as each fish is fried fresh to order the chips were fresh out too. oh what a delight. a proper real fish and chip shop with old fashioned values. I've been loads since and I cannot praise them highly enough. give them a try,,, you won't be disappointed.
