OMG!! A group of us from Staffordshire and Leicestershire were looking for some great fish and chips and we stumbled upon Stretchgate Fisheries! What a gem ..staff were incredible and the food soooo lovely! All homemade and so tasty. Great price too which is a fab bonus. We were so impressed... definitely check this place out.

The fish here are top quality, lovely batter and the staff are great. I come from Savile Park and its the only fish and chippie l would go to. I always ring them and ask for them to be well done for me and they are perfect.

Still given full stars. But the chips were a bit overdone this time. Fish was spot on!! And that Irish curry sauce is amazing! 🤩

Delivery drive drove round for 25mins with food, didn’t have bread cakes and when I asked where they were stated not my problem I just deliver I don’t get paid to check them. Chip shop itself is always spot on but this driver needs sacking- food cold and some missing

Food was fantastic!! I had a fish butty and curry sauce. The quality was beautiful! Will 100% be going back but next time we will collect as just eats delivery took an hour/1hour 30mins.

No complaints on food, it was spot on. Delivery from Just Eat was not as good. Went from just picked order up to miles away in seconds. Think driver had other drops. Just wish it would say so. Not good on customer or business.

Went here recently as we look for the best chippy in Halifax. While the location is not the best in the world, the food was good and very reasonable priced (£13.80 for fish & chips twice). The fish was very nice, a good sized piece and the batter was not heavy. The chips were decent and was a decent quantity. We really did like this.

The best in Calderdale by far friendly staff and the price prices not too be missed seriously it’s 10 stars xx

Best fish and chips we've tasted in ages

Got a portion of fish and chips for my Wife and I - Tasted like they gave us yesterdays leftover chips re-fried and the fish was tasteless - probably the worst fish and chips we’ve had in the Halifax area and won’t be purchasing from here again.

keep changing times over a hour waste of time,dinner was over

Ordered fish and chips for my 91 year old grandad who had just come out of hospital. Food was over 1hr 30mins after delivery time, food was stone cold had to reheat. Not sure what it's like to collect but I wouldn't order to have it delivered again.

Can't fault the food it's our favourite fish shop, unfortunately the delivery drivers at just eat let them down every time. We had 2 bags to be delivered and they only delivered one. Who knows what the driver did with the other when they realised they hadn't sent both but they never came back with it. Another driver was extremely late and our food was cold! Food is great but just eat need to sort out there delivery drivers!

Wow! Beautiful food delivered still hot & very well presented & wrapped. The fish was amazing & the batter was so crispy, the chips were amazing & a nice dark , well cooked not anaemic 😋 the spam fritter & fish cake was just so lovely & crispy & the fish bits were gratefully received 🤗 Best tasting fish & chips etc for a very long time!!! Delivery driver was also very polite too!!!

Brilliant service and food, really quick delivery, delivery guy really good and pleasant which does make a difference, so food was piping hot the fish was beautifully cooked with lovely light crispy batter, chips could have been a bit more crispy but still tasted great, wife loved the spam fritter, battered sausage is one of my favs and always have to have one when we get fish & chips and was well up to par, all in we would recommend easily :)

Excellent food from this Fish and Chop shop. Order ran late however this was Just Eats fault and not the fish and chip shop. Just Eat messaged to say they did not have any available drivers to match the original order delivery estimate due to higher than expected orders on Just Eat. Eventually driver was allocated and the meal arrived hot and promptly.
