Customers service doesn’t exist!!! Can’t give zero stars so had to give one! Took food back to the shop as was half cooked freezing cold in the middle to be told it couldn’t be they had just cooked the fish cake then they said they couldn’t give me a full refund but could give me half as ive ate some obviously this was ment to be my dinner! Avoid at all cost this could of easily been a child’s dinner/tea to which I’ve explained on the phone to have the same attitude as they don’t give a **** shocking customer service wont be returning and will make sure my family and friends don’t eat here again!! Losing good customers over bad attitude and unhelpful staff!! And the worst food rank…

Ordered a cheeseburger meal with mayo plus other food.i put the mayo on my chips and burger it looked a weird colour when i checked the mayo tube it was aYEAR out of date.i called the shop to tell them this they said they wud resend the food back to me .when the new food came it was just the burger that came no chips.the driver called the shop up nd they topd him i will need to send the new burger back so they need to redo the order again with chips .cudnt be bothered to wait again so i just told them to leave the chips how can they have something a year out of date .im sorry but i wnt br returning again .

Delivery was early which is always good yet the food was stone cold. Chips must have been sitting for an hour and just reheated. Fish cake was full of parsley and burger was probably the worst ive ever had. Delivery driver also rude. Never again

This shop does not honour delivery times when ordering on line they just please themselves.I eventually cancelled order but try and get a refund from this company not a hope.

Just been, got a kebab and chips, the worst tasting and the scabbiest kebab meat i,ve ever tasted, and the chips were no beta. Will not spend another penny in this (chippy).!!!??

Good portions and good taste, though the temperature of the food could have been better. I'll order again and hopefully the temperature matches the quality and portion. I would highly recommend the tikka kebab. Banging sauce, and loads of chicken and & veg.

Chips were cold and garlic sauce was everywhere little bit garlic sauce I had on chips but apart from that everything was fine

So after never having a problem with gills , I experienced my first problem last week when my food took almost two hours to arrive and was lukewarm at the best . Tonight I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and order again, only to have items of my order missing. I'm afraid I shan't be using you again Gills , major disappointment.

food was lukewarm at best and that is being generous actual food is nice but you would expect it warm was roughly 45 mins late even though shop is 3 miles away ordered to save going out with kids rang for update and was told twice it had left shop which was a grand wait time of 45 mins to come 3 mile

chips were barely warm, fish was dry and everything was so greasy.

Mega mix grill got me to eat a mushroom and actually half enjoyed them for the first time in over 2 decades, though next time I’d request without mushrooms. But honestly must be Newcastles best kebabs, found my new chippy, higher quality product

Please avoid! Waited 2 hours delivery time kept changing. Rang restaurant told me they were waiting for a driver to pick it up. Half an hour later order still hasn’t arrived. So contacted just eat and ordered McDonald’s instead. Rang restaurant and told them i want to cancel the order. Can’t be fresh food if your orders sat waiting hours for a delivery driver!

Beautiful cod & chips arrived on time and delivered by a very polite gentleman

Put in notes to make such chips hot and with salt n vinegar on but yet again cold. Haggies was nice but sausage n burger also cold

Nice pizzas I'm leaving this review because the young girl that served me had her finger in ear while serving me she hasn't washed her hands once while waiting for my order also she touched my pizza with her hands disgusting

I've always loved the food whether collection or delivery but tonight a was very disappointed to order a burger with salad (lettuce onion cucumber Tom's n sauce)and only get the burger with NO salad

Really nice food, the service is very fast and you can get a lunchtime special deal for £5.95 (prices at the time of this review are accurate) The staff are very friendly and will help explain the menu and offers.

Visited a few times to get a kabab and jumbo sausages and chips. Big garlic sauce sizes. Nice tasty food.

delivery time kept changing, it finally came 2,30hrs later restaurant saying unexpected high # of orders. pizza box all wet underneath, drinks all hot. Chips box all wet. Pizzas squashed to one side. spoiled sat night takeaway time. Delivery person clearly didn't care.

I order every week from here never no problems but on this occasion pizza wasnt cooked properly the base if this can be passed on to shop for future orders.

worse chippy thought id try it fish was burnt batter well over done delivery took total of 2.5 hours rang 6 times before i even got a answer then blammed it on the weather but looking at the reviews couldnt been bad weather on them all...i will read reviews next time i order anywhere....

Ive bought F&C from gills many times but these were not their best. Stodgy chips and over cooked fish and batter. I ordered to collect at 5.45 but got a message at 4 to say they were ready to collect. They tasted like they had been there since 4

Ordered food at 8.24pm was ment to come by 9.45pm. Rang at 9.50pm as shop shuts at 10pm told it was next to leave the shop, didn't arrive until 10.46pm. Didn't answer the phone after 10pm when I rang for an update of my order. When it did eventually arrive the food was cold. Absolutely shocking won't be using again.

Food was nice . Portions small (ordered LARGE COD AND LARGE CHIPS) . Our usual fish and chip shop do a large cod and chips that we share as they do very generous portions.

Kebab meat is not a good flavour and it’s to thick got bits in it to could end up at the dentist

when I ordered was told food would arrive within 1 hour, food finally arrived just after 2 hours from ordering. when I spoke to takeaway which was after the delivery was supposed to be delivered they said orders were taking 1 and half hours and my food was just getting made then. just say that when I order and I wouldn't of had an issue with it taking so long

So disappointed. Had food from here many times, but tonight was awful. Arrived very late (over 2hrs after ordering), then when the food eventually arrived (had to call and chase up on food), it was stone cold, chips rank and totally inedible. Nearly £20 just totally wasted. The only positive was there did look to be a good amount of meat in the wrap, just a shame it wasn’t freshly made and hot to be enjoyed.

ordered food at 630 didnt get delivered until 8 being late i dont mind too much but they got the order all wrong and the food they did send was cold and it went in to the bin will never order from there again and wouldnt recommend others to order

For the record this place used to be nice a few years ago and for the price the potion’s were quite small, kebab wasn’t all that either donner was a little bit pale for my liking and the chicken felt slimy other than that chips and pop for £40 cheers I know I won’t be ordering again.

Hour and a half wait for the most disgusting, inedible food! My 6 year old wouldn’t touch his either which spoke volumes.. Called shop an hour into wait was given the most pathetic excuse that there’s road works which is why was taking longer when it actually arrived the delivery guy couldn’t even look at me! No apologies nothing.. Mays well have just set a £20 note alight

Pepperoni pizza was lush, the rest were not as nice as pepperoni

A regular and honest review. I am bigger fan of the pizza party, but over last 4-5 years the price has climbed from 3 10inch pizza at £12.99 to £20 but the 3 pizza is now 8inch plus 1 extra pizza. Mixed kebab is really tasty but half the time in a wrap it’s all fallen out.

Gills has always been my go to place as food was always delicious and portion sizes were great! However, I will not be ordering from here again. I ordered a large tray of kebab with chips and garlic sauce. The portion size was laughable! Not even half a tray of kebab and around 15 chips. Whereas previously I would get a full tray of kebab and plenty chips. I think its shocking how they have increased their prices yet decreased the portion sizes. I wouldn't actually mind paying the extra had they kept portion sizes the same. Giving 2 stars as the food was actually quite nice, especially the garlic sauce.

Arrived still hot. Large cod. Fish cakes and haggis. Best I have had for quite some time. Highly recommend.
