Food tasted great and was still warm. Arrived 20 minutes early which as nice, but we were a little unprepared. It is nice to know if food is going to arrive early

food came quick and hot but fish had a really overpowering smell of ammonia which instantly put me off eating so it all went in the bin

Well I always use gills however chips look anorexic there white not the normal chips u get from there they were just warm normally there red hot to

my ice-cream had been defrosted, and re frozen, so was slimey and had to be thrown away. and despite two phone calls the order was so so late. yet they refused to give me even a partial refund.

Thoroughly enjoyed my haddock and Chips. Very reasonably priced. Fish was cooked to perfection. Chips were delicious. I will order from here again.

normally come here often but this is the second time there's been a chunk of metal inside of the chicken tikka, it's a shame the hygiene rating went down too but im not surprised

Haven’t ate it yet but delivered over an hour and a quarter late, called the shop twice, 1st time nearly an hour after it was due to be told on its way then called again half an hour later to be told it’s on your step they tried to call you! They hadn’t called me at all and I found it barely warm on my doorstep

Customers service doesn’t exist!!! Can’t give zero stars so had to give one! Took food back to the shop as was half cooked freezing cold in the middle to be told it couldn’t be they had just cooked the fish cake then they said they couldn’t give me a full refund but could give me half as ive ate some obviously this was ment to be my dinner! Avoid at all cost this could of easily been a child’s dinner/tea to which I’ve explained on the phone to have the same attitude as they don’t give a **** shocking customer service wont be returning and will make sure my family and friends don’t eat here again!! Losing good customers over bad attitude and unhelpful staff!! And the worst food rank…

Ordered a cheeseburger meal with mayo plus other food.i put the mayo on my chips and burger it looked a weird colour when i checked the mayo tube it was aYEAR out of date.i called the shop to tell them this they said they wud resend the food back to me .when the new food came it was just the burger that came no chips.the driver called the shop up nd they topd him i will need to send the new burger back so they need to redo the order again with chips .cudnt be bothered to wait again so i just told them to leave the chips how can they have something a year out of date .im sorry but i wnt br returning again .

Why when you get a discount on ya meal ya portion size goes to half I ordered standard fish and chips and got what looked like cod bite and 10 chips and the kebab and chips must have been what they swept up off the floor never again

I order from here every week but unfortunately the pizza's were not nice they were burnt hope this feedback reaches the takeaway and have improvement next week fingers crossed 🤞

It took nearly 3 hours for me to get my food all I ordered was kebab wrap

Some okay, some dreadful. How does a Smokey sausage end up mushy? And why was the kebab literally smothered in garlic sauce instead of the sauce being in a tub like normal folk? Literally just sogged every thing and made most of it inedible. Apart from that, aye was decent.

The fried items were burnt and over cooked went rock hard - the gravy was good and so was the chicken shame as had good fish and sausage previously

Delivery was early which is always good yet the food was stone cold. Chips must have been sitting for an hour and just reheated. Fish cake was full of parsley and burger was probably the worst ive ever had. Delivery driver also rude. Never again

This shop does not honour delivery times when ordering on line they just please themselves.I eventually cancelled order but try and get a refund from this company not a hope.

Just been, got a kebab and chips, the worst tasting and the scabbiest kebab meat i,ve ever tasted, and the chips were no beta. Will not spend another penny in this (chippy).!!!??

Good portions and good taste, though the temperature of the food could have been better. I'll order again and hopefully the temperature matches the quality and portion. I would highly recommend the tikka kebab. Banging sauce, and loads of chicken and & veg.

Chips were cold and garlic sauce was everywhere little bit garlic sauce I had on chips but apart from that everything was fine

So after never having a problem with gills , I experienced my first problem last week when my food took almost two hours to arrive and was lukewarm at the best . Tonight I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and order again, only to have items of my order missing. I'm afraid I shan't be using you again Gills , major disappointment.

Mega mix grill got me to eat a mushroom and actually half enjoyed them for the first time in over 2 decades, though next time I’d request without mushrooms. But honestly must be Newcastles best kebabs, found my new chippy, higher quality product

Please avoid! Waited 2 hours delivery time kept changing. Rang restaurant told me they were waiting for a driver to pick it up. Half an hour later order still hasn’t arrived. So contacted just eat and ordered McDonald’s instead. Rang restaurant and told them i want to cancel the order. Can’t be fresh food if your orders sat waiting hours for a delivery driver!

Beautiful cod & chips arrived on time and delivered by a very polite gentleman

Put in notes to make such chips hot and with salt n vinegar on but yet again cold. Haggies was nice but sausage n burger also cold

Nice pizzas I'm leaving this review because the young girl that served me had her finger in ear while serving me she hasn't washed her hands once while waiting for my order also she touched my pizza with her hands disgusting

I've always loved the food whether collection or delivery but tonight a was very disappointed to order a burger with salad (lettuce onion cucumber Tom's n sauce)and only get the burger with NO salad

Really nice food, the service is very fast and you can get a lunchtime special deal for £5.95 (prices at the time of this review are accurate) The staff are very friendly and will help explain the menu and offers.

Great if you like being ignored by the staff while the do on line orders for 20 mins, even though uou asked if another customer was waiting said she's waiting for fish, I wasn't wanting fish, I walked out as my time is mine not the staff plenty of other takeaways in Wallsend.

delivery time kept changing, it finally came 2,30hrs later restaurant saying unexpected high # of orders. pizza box all wet underneath, drinks all hot. Chips box all wet. Pizzas squashed to one side. spoiled sat night takeaway time. Delivery person clearly didn't care.

worse chippy thought id try it fish was burnt batter well over done delivery took total of 2.5 hours rang 6 times before i even got a answer then blammed it on the weather but looking at the reviews couldnt been bad weather on them all...i will read reviews next time i order anywhere....

Ive bought F&C from gills many times but these were not their best. Stodgy chips and over cooked fish and batter. I ordered to collect at 5.45 but got a message at 4 to say they were ready to collect. They tasted like they had been there since 4

Ordered food at 8.24pm was ment to come by 9.45pm. Rang at 9.50pm as shop shuts at 10pm told it was next to leave the shop, didn't arrive until 10.46pm. Didn't answer the phone after 10pm when I rang for an update of my order. When it did eventually arrive the food was cold. Absolutely shocking won't be using again.

Food ordered via their site, took nearly 2 hours to arrive and some of the order was not there. Could not see where to request refund on site, a phone call to the business said the owner would contact me to arrange refund. I also emailed their support. 5 days later, still no contact or reply and had zero refund of goods. Not the first time they’ve missed and items and would recommend people to stay clear. Unless they want half their payments to arrive cold or just not turn up.

Ordered and paid for large cod and chips, and 8 chicken nuggets and chips and small curry sauce for the kids. Kids were disappointed when we unwrapped our lunch only to find there were no chicken nuggets. We won't be going back.

it's Gills. You already know it's gonna be the best scran. The extra money you spend here compared to other chippies is made up in quality.
