Terrible wish I could put -5 stars we ordered for 5pm as we were going out at 530 and have to have gluten free and this is the only one in the area. Hadn’t arrived by 515 so checked the app the chip shop used to see it say 2 mins away, so waited and didn’t arrive immediately called restaurant to be told it hadn’t even left the shop yet and would be in about 10 mins and would be here for 525- I said I had ordered it for 5 and he didn’t even apologise. Order didn’t arrive until gone 6pm. Young delivery driver sat in car on phone before even bringing the food to the door, my partner went out and told him not to bother as over an hour late. This isn’t the first time this has happened and definitely will not be using them again. Food is usually cold, dry and tasteless so look for somewhere else! Awful customer service not even an apology!

Food prepared promptly on ordering as usual, staff happy to help and advise especially with special requests chicken curry and naan. (Nut Allergy Suffer).

Nipped in for quick dinner for 3 of the food was a absolute disgrace so was the staff pie that hard it broken in half savloy cold chips rock hard seen staff cutting donner meat then putting in plastic tubs for the next day yes the staff did say that why I was waiting

I ordered paneer naan and ask for the salad and sauces separate as most Asians do. When I got home we found they did not pack them. A week later I was back for something else and told them. They offered me free sauce and I said no thanks but give me a curry sauce instead as I am not eating paneer. The young manager refused my request. I did not place my order and went to another chippy. They lost 15 pound order for a 30 pence curry sauce. They also lost my respect.

Terrible experience. Food ordered through uber and food was late also fish was stone cold and greasy. Not sure who to blame either the shop or uber. Won't be ordering from there again

Ordered the food off of Uber Eats and it came late, food was cold and there was half of the order missing. I don't know if it was the driver or the store but still shocking

Dont make the same mistake as me and order from here, I ordered through justeat. Justeat doesn't get updated except to say the food would be delayed, twice and when it did turn up it was well below the standard I expected. It was luke warm and soggy as if it had been wrapped up and sat under a lamp for ages, battered sausage was extremely dark so I question how fresh the oil is. A very disappointing experience for a 1st time customer, won't be ordering from here again

I'll happily travel the 15 mile roundtrip to collect food from here instead of the local chippy 5 minutes away , that should say enough

We asked about the presence of peanut in a dish, the chef was apparently consulted and comfirmed there was no peanut in the curry. My son had 3 mouthfuls, and then had an anaphalactic reaction to the curry!! Fortunately it was controllable and he wasn't hospitalised, or worse. On ringing back, I was then informed it did have peanuts in it. Unbelievable that food places like this can play fast and loose with peoples lives. Simply put, I wouldn't risk it if you have a serious allergy. In my observation the staff are disorganised and can't be trusted to be accurate on things that matter such as allergy ingredients.

Chips were tasteless, sausage was over cooked and both me and my son found a hair in our chips. Will not be using again and I’m not surprised it was empty at 5pm on a Friday!

Long wait for a simple order of fish and chips. Packaged in a large paper bag which leaked oil everywhere. Food was really bad. Fish batter was hard and chips were soggy and not nice at all.

I have never seen like this disgusting food in my life. I ordered chicken tikka with nan bread, it's not edible. I just put all in the bin.

Lunch with my Dad who lives close by. Had a big fish, little fish, mushy peas box! Food all good. The fish wasn't the freshest I've had inland but still better than most (hence 4☆). The young woman serving was cheery, pleasant and welcoming. The shop had not long opened but the food didn't take long to be prepared. Overall, I'd definitely go there again! 👍

honestly doesn’t even deserve the one star i was required to put just to leave a review. food was absolutely rank; barely edible. the saveloy (if you could even call it that) was inedible and most likely days old as it was sat in water in the heating cabinet. the batter was definitely not cooked in fresh oil as it was brown with fat dripping off of it and soaking the bag with brown disgusting oil. peas were fermented which was quite impressive due to the amount of preservatives they had in them, looked so green they could’ve been from Chernobyl. I felt quite bad for the poor girl that was serving when we went back in to be quite honest. definitely do not go here unless you’re feeling brave and want food poisoning.only good thing about it was the price… but you get what you pay for i guess… 🤷🏻‍♀️🤮

Ordered for 6 people. So disappointed that within half an hour I rang for a refund. Awful chips, dry, chewy and inedible. Fish was dripping with oil/grease. Manager accepted my complaint and I got a refund. Manager blamed a bad batch of potatoes, so obviously not freshly prepared. I would not recommend this place at all. Staff were not wearing hair nets or gloves to serve or prepare food. Whilst the portion sizes are very good that’s not much good when it’s too disgusting to eat.

Half tandoori chicken and chips was superb. Huge. Massive. Plenty for 2. Or more! Very tasty and excellent value for money.

Bland chips not even cooked properly they was hard, took food back in they remade it exactly the same chips had no taste unable to even cook decent chips, food just went in the bin second time, unbelievable… Reading the other reviews just don’t go here…

Always a disappointment when you go to a chip shop and they forget to bag the chips! Kebabs were delicious but staff didn’t seem to listen as missing our chips…

Depressed looking foreign woman that didn't acknowledge me .young 15 year ish British girl serving very polite , ordered fish and chips sat and tried to eat inside car ...ended up in dustbin bland what ever the secret to being bland cook wise is this shop wins . no taste .peas no taste fish no taste ...no taste only a waste ...vinegar so watered down might aswell have pissed on it !! ended up in tesco after to buy a drink and pack of chewies .as mouth didn't enjoy one bit .

Chips were a mix of hard like a rock and soggy. Scampi wasn’t actually scampi, it was fish nuggets. Also says it’s you get 10, but only received 8. The mushy peas were just liquid, no lumpy bits whatsoever. Average curry sauce. Won’t be using them again.

Order was placed on just eat, had been a while since I last ordered. Food was terrible, the quality is so poor it’s unreal, totally burnt pieces of stale chicken in the kebab, fish was awful, nothing good to say. Owners obviously have no pride in serving reasonable food, terrible quality and quantity, will never order again, my own mistake thinking they may have improved.

Hard to find Nice food around this area, however this place has really nice chilli chips and the tikka kebab was pretty good aswel

Ordered through just eat came late cold and items missing on top of that ordered a tandoori Shish paid good money and when it arrived only four tiny pieces of meat and what I would call slimy veg no salad as ordered there idea of a kebab burger is cold kebab meat on a bun not a bloody burger complete waste of hard earned money I won’t make the same mistake again avoid like the plague pkease

Kebab meat had a weird twang to it, spicy but overcooked. Generous portion of chips very very oilly and when got home, opened bag and looked like mash potato. Wish I'd read the reviews before. Didn't feel well the next day.

Don't waste your money here. Absolutely disgusting. Should have learnt my lesson when in received awful food a few weeks ago. Thought it must have been a one off. Clearly not. Pie was soo old, dry and stale. Oil chips are cooked in must be old as they tasted vile. Peas just warm. Will go to the one on wardens walk in future.

What a down turn in the quality of food, have new owners taken over? The cod was dry and greyish white, it bars no resemblance to the bright white flakey fish served there previously. It reminded me of poor quality frozen fish. I'd liked to have seem the cod skin to actually know it was cod. Batter was dark in colour and laden with fat, not light and crispy like before. Subsequently 3 portions were binned it was that bad. Chips were average. Mushy peas and curry sauce fine. Shall not return.

Progressively worse every time we try them. An hour and a half for delivery. Batter was tough, fish was tasteless. Chips were lacklustre. Really think this is the last time. It’s hard because not many people do gf fish and chips but these really are not worth the money.

Went to this chips shop to eat in ordered fish and chips and done cob the Dover was cold and had me a stomach upset chips cold and fish was disgusting and staff hygiene terrible also was there when heard staff saying use that food leftover for tomorrow that was sausages fish cakes disgusting avoid

If I could give less than 1 star i would - this chip shop has taken a massive downturn since the new ownership. Noticed the guy preparing the kebab wiping his nose with his bear hands during covid! who then proceeded to handle food. Pointed this out to staff and management to get told I am barred from the shop!! Awful service; disgusting hygiene & management that can't take feedback. Stay clear! Never will go back.

The best chips everrr!!! When you wana enjoy a mix of chips, you gotta go to fish and chip co and ask for “ Abus” mix! The staff are amazing - friendly polite and quick at what they do!

The food at this place is Very tasty and well prepared and you can chose among many menu options. I had orderd fish n chips and chicken madras it was divine. I love the service at the place and the staff are so friendly with the customers and always takes care to offer the best quality! I highly recommend this place.

Food arrived over hour late to then get anemic grease filled soggy chips over cooked batter sausage and fishcake which was cold my kids couldn't eat this so was a waste of money offered my dog the battered sausage he even turned his nose up at it and he is not one to turn his nose up at anyfood will not use again

We order chicken nuggets and chips however after arriving home they forgot to put the nuggets in and then said that we were lying which we weren’t lying. The chips are always last nights chips I can’t remember the last time I had fresh chips from this chip shop. Used to be good but clearly not anymore

Wow - how to go down hill fast. We used to love this place but just had the worst fish and chips I’ve ever tried. Threw away the fish and peas as they were inedible. Chips only slightly better. That’s on top of a 20 minute wait - after which they realised they’d not even started my order. Avoid!

Flipping awful.i don't know why I went there as I know last time the chips were all crusty.And again the chips are crusty and my daughter chix nuggets were over cooked to a very dark brown,almost black.never again will I go there. I rather walk to my fav chippy down the road.

Ordered two kebabs. Was told they would be around 5-10 minutes. So we said we would wait outside, they said they would come tell us, we where the only customers. We had been sat in our car, out front, doors opening, waiting, 18 minutes later, we went in, they casually said, oh the kebabs? They where sat om the side, going cold, we only live 2 minutes away. And they where pretty much stone cold at home!

Since the change of the owner the fish and chips have been terrible. The chips are refried and the fish is not cooked properly. The price is a rip off. Cause of Covid-19 they should use the card system instead of paying by cash. I will come back if the old owners were back and they start using the card system.

Absolutely fantastic chippy. We order for delivery and the food is always delivered piping hot, on time (sometimes early). Tastes absolutely delicious & we’ve not ordered from anywhere else since we first tried from here. Thanks so much!

We have had a Curry for the here before and It was ok, so we thought we would give it another go. We ordered Butter Chicken, saag Paneer and Garlic and Chilli Chicken with rice and Chips, it was nothing short of vile. The Butter chicken was tasteless and had an ‘off’ taste, the Saag Paneer was watery and lacked and sort of flavour, and the Garlic and chilli chicken was really bland and had virtually no chicken in it, all the sauces were watery and flavourless. Leicestershire is blessed with many Curry take aways with some that are average and some that are the best in the country, but this is by far the worst,the absolute pits. I would strongly recommend you avoid this like the plague. Stick to the Fish and Chips.

Shocking food 1 time I went waited 20 mins and still don't get served when shop is empty tonight tried once again and they tried serving me food out the microwave after requested off the grill then they re done it and stuff under cooked and not worth a penny shocking food avoid it for your health and wallet

Last week we ordered the same food as this week, last week the food was hot, tasted freshly cooked even though we had it delivered. This week the food was awful, it tasted as though it has been standing around all day, we had it delivered again, and this time the food was cold. How can it be so inconsistent from the same place. This has put us off ordering again!

Absolutely love this place. The fish is amazing and is a favourite of mine. The kebabs are fantastic and not fatty at all. Also they do diner bites which is unique to this place definitely worth a try.

15 minutes to get served despite being second in queue. Poorly managed front end and not enforcing covid regulations. Terrible paneer.

Fish and chips always great but now they have opened Indian too it's great . So tasty . The manager is a diamond so king . The two girls working there are fab and the delivery lady so polite . Just great

Fish and chip co. Have started doing breakfast so it would be rude not to try it out. Very tasty for £5.50. Coffee, toast 2 sausage, 2 bacon, runny egg, hash brown, proper mushrooms, beans, tomatoes and black pudding. I would have posted a photo but I ate it all!! If i had criticise anything it would be the sausage as it was the normal catering sausage but i can live with that. Well priced and hot. Perfect hangover cure

DO NOT USE. Will not fry or cook most menu items 1 & half hours before closing. 4 nuggets for 1.50 a joke. No salad or sauce on any items I ordered the time before, not even cheese on a cheeseburger. Waste of money and time.

My favourite chip shop in West Leicester. And I have been to most of them. Huge portions and good quality. Can't fault it.

We order from here every week. The rotisserie chicken is a speciality and the chips are so fresh and not at all greasy. Really recommend it.

For a fish and chip shop that batter fish/halloumi frequently you wouldn't think it would be difficult to get it right. After returning from holiday and wanting an easy dinner I went in for halloumi and chips. Never had a problem before but on this occasion it wasn't great. It's definitely not cheap but that's fine when it tastes ok. Got it home and the halloumi was burnt.. not just a bit; 1 piece was solid and very over cooked. Not impressed and not easy to do anything about it once your home. Won't bother going back!

Been here once before and burger was pretty poor and the fish was really greasy, went in again tonight to give it a second go and was told all we got is chips and refused to cook what I wanted as an order rubbish

this place is pretty good chips are perfect every time kebab meat from the skewer big round one is ok that would have my cup of tea but the shish kebabs are very nice on one occasion they were over cooked but it was still ok when I go I usually have a kebab don't think I've tried the fish from there yet but I plan to do so in the near future I used to go to Desford chip shop, but now I go there it is more expensive but better quality

Huge fish x2 and chips which served 4 of us comfortably, batter a little bit too greasy for me, but overall a lovely supper had by all.

Absolutely disgusted with the quality of the chips that I just bought for my son. 99 per cent of the chips were bruised and black and Un-eatable.

mini fish and chips. it was all cooked well, the fish was the smallest they could find. it was probably haddock. good portion of chips though. would probably buy them again. but would plan my journey and go elsewhere

The cleanest chippy I have seen, 5* star hygiene which is always a good start. Everything is open so you can see where the potatoes are peeled and cut Best kebabs and fish & chips in the area.
