Had been to Latimer’s pre-Covid. The crab soup was previously excellent, served in china bowls with all white meat and a good slug of whiskey. Not now. 🙁 Soup was served in a paper cup, it was mostly seafood stock with lots of big pieces of chopped onion?? and barely any crab. Because we ate it inside, five feet away from tables outside, we were charged 20% (VAT) more. The same excess charge was applied for incorrectly made coffee and sandwiches. I thought VAT was levied to cover the extra cost of waiter service, table cover and washing dishes etc. However all food was served in takeaway paper cups and bags 🙁 even the coffee and I had to collect all of it from the counter when it was made. The best reaction to this type of poor food and service is to not visit again.

We live no where near the sea, but can get much better fish and chips locally here. The fish was thin, oily and smelly. Asked for a large cod and chips, and received two pieces of fish, one which was a small piece of haddock. Unfortunately there doesn’t seem to be many other fish and chips locally. Disappointing.

Great Bar and restaurant! Lovey ambience. Enjoyed olives, sour dough bread and butter, charcuterie board and roasted scallops! Fantastic! Massive thank you to Jaun the bar manager from Italy, Such a nice guy who really took excellent care of me! Thank you Jaun, I will return!

This was our 5th visit, every time we go it’s such great food and service I wanted to leave a review. An independent family owned restaurant that blends fine dining with a lovely friendly atmosphere. Fresh fish specials every day that never disappoint I cannot recommend it enough.

We ordered the homemade steak and mushroom pie, chips and peas. It was the best pie we have eaten in a long time. Plenty of the meat, extra tasty gravy and new potato chips. Definitely home made, such a wonderful meal to enjoy whilst on our day out. Will be going there again whenever we are in Great Yarmouth.

Don’t bother wasting your money at this fish and chip shop. No cod available at 6.30pm. Haddock was dry and very small. Like no haddock I have had before. Small overcooked fillet with Greasy batter. Chips weren’t nice either. Mushy peas tasted different to any others too. This was the only choice as the other fish and chip shops were closed. Reading other reviews I’m hoping I don’t have any after effects! Left most of my dinner.

Good position, noisy inside, very pricey. Sunday roast menu listed loin of pork but we were served what looked like very fatty pork belly, hidden under a pool of gravy. Loin is lean. The other diners were happy with their choices and the wine and the desserts were fine, but serving just half a dessert spoon of clotted cream on the toffee pudding is skimping on a cheap item.
