The outdoor terrace of this fish restaurant on the Thames is an under-regarded delight, as is the food. The spinach we had one sunny lunchtime still had grit in it, but Nuno, a superb maitre'd, ensured we were not charged for the item. In my view, as a practised bon viveur, this branch of Scott's is superior to the Mayfair original. mw

What an absolutely amazing evening it was, from the moment we arrived until the time we departed! The warm welcome set the tone for a truly memorable experience. We were fortunate to be seated in a stunning area on the terrace, where the ambiance was simply enchanting. The culinary offerings were nothing short of sublime, each dish a delightful masterpiece that tantalized our taste buds. The staff were exceptionally attentive, ensuring that every need was met with a smile. A special shout-out goes to Alex, who not only took great care of us but also brought a vibrant personality that added to the overall enjoyment of the evening. It was a night to remember, filled with exquisite food, wonderful company, and impeccable service!

4.5 My mother-in-law was visiting with her sister so we wanted somewhere special for lunch. Scott’s certainly fits the bill as it’s a beautiful room with wonderful views over the river. The service was excellent, efficient and friendly. Overall the food was pretty good, spiced baked crab and spiced salmon tartare were both well seasoned with a good balance of flavours. The prawns for the cocktail were good quality but as they come straight off the ice they are very cold and so are a bit lacking in flavour. The beurre noisette on the Dover sole was disappointing as it had not been cooked to the nutty stage and was therefore just a butter sauce, the sauce on the skate special was also a bit bland. Deserts went down well with the Paris-Brest and the honeycomb ice-cream being particular highlights. Yes it’s expensive but our visitors loved it and so it was money well spent and brightened a very wet day.

Beautiful restaurant that came highly recommended. Agree with the beauty of the place, but was sadly disappointed with the rest. It literally took us (a table of 3) one hour and twenty minutes to receive our food. Our server was the only one professional enough to apologize for the delay. Not one of the three “managers” we saw in the dining room addressed us nor did they offer us anything for our inconvenience. The two stars I’ve rated this restaurant is generous, and save for the server, a one star would be awarded.

Fantastic! On entry we were greeted warmly by 2 reception members. I would like to specifically mention Harry who maintained professionalism balanced with fantastic humour. He made myself and my partner feel very at ease. The native oysters were amazing and the octopus robata was delicious. The minute the door is opened to welcome you, you will not be disappointed. I have been time and time seated in the terrace with the view of the river. Seated at the delighted tables on the ground floor dining with exquisite views of the Murano chandeliers and artworks to sitting at the bar admiring the handling of the seafood platters. Every seating experience had its charm. The staff are impeccably dressed and mannered with A star service and attentiveness. The food is easy to navigate with specialities in seafood. A lovely way to embrace the past dining and be swept away from the cities bustle.

We went there to celebrate a special occasion - sadly they were very dull about it which sadly flattened the experience. The food was ok - but I didn’t appreciate the stale bread - neither the first basket not the second!! The whole evening felt perfunctory not special and certainly not worth £200!!! I cannot recommend it at all.

Scott’s in Mayfair is one of my favourite restaurants in London, so when this location opened I’ve been meaning to visit for some time. My boyfriend and I came on a Monday as a celebration and were very much looking forward to the event, however our experience was lacking and very different to what we expect from the original location at Mayfair. The biggest disappointment came from the food - despite the restaurant only having an occupancy of no more than 25%, the dishes took a long time to arrive - the starter after 45 minutes - and when it, the dishes were dry and tasteless. My boyfriend had the crab which had minimal flavour and I had the scallops, which clearly had been sitting under lights for some time as they were extremely dry. I would also say the same for my fish main - you can see from my pictures that both dishes were dry from sitting out for too long. A really disappointing experience; maybe it was just a bad day? The only other comment I will add is that generally my boyfriend and I enjoy sitting at the bar. The staff in the Mayfair restaurant who serve behind the counter are generally efficient yet discreet and warm however the server behind the counter that day looked like she only cared about cleaning the dishes. No interest in the customers and pretty unfriendly. This review may sound a bit harsh but I saw one other table complaining about their food and the time it took to arrive so I don’t think we were the only ones experiencing a subpar seating. Sorry, Scott’s Richmond - you aren’t a patch on the original in MayfairZ

Elegant rooms in a prime spot by the Richmond bridge with an atmosphere of friendly formality. We were new to the place as was our waiter, Alex (day 4) whose attentiveness and humour added to our enjoyment of the meal. We went with the set menu, their "pre-show" option though, as Alex assured us, "the show's right here". Prompt, professional service and well-prepared food throughout. Highlights include the chargrilled broccoli, the Mirabelle custard tart..... and Alex.

My first impression, unfortunately, was the ladies toilets which made me feel I was standing in a late night bar after a long night.. not great. In their defence, I reported it to reception and upon returning an hour later, everything was clean. It is a very grand room with views of the river. I can't fault the service, the wine gets kept away from your table but they do top you up regularly. I had the miso blackened salmon and my friend the langoustine linguine both of which were decent. I tried one of their special gin cocktails called The bees knees served in a pretty little glass . We enjoyed a bottle of chablis and refrained from dessert. If you are looking for a classy seafood restaurant this would impress your friends!

Probably the best fish I have ever eaten so far! We ordered roasted fillet of cod and it was 11/10. Seared sea bass was also perfect. For the side orders we ordered chargrilled broccoli. It was tasty but I would try a different side. Octupus was quite good. For the starters we ordered tomato salad and it was 5/10. The tomatos were so big and the portion was very small. For the dessert, I would highly recommend Pavlova. It is creamy inside. Paris Brest was okay but Pavlova is better if you like fruity tastes. The view was amazing and romantic. They made a nice gesture and bring a plate for our anniversary. Really liked this place :)

If you love your seafood undoubtedly you have heard of Scott's. Despite being in Richmond, one feels the grandeur of the place and one could be mistaken for not being in Knightsbridge or Mayfair. The bar upstairs is excellent and the bar tender not only gave great recommendations but had a wonderful manner. Now the food; I have to put a caveat that I'm not a fan of fish, but my wife is. Nonetheless, the baked spiced crab was smooth, morish and divine, whilst the sautéed cod cheeks and snails were rich with great depth in flavour. Now to the mains. The fish and chips is a very large portion, but was too salty and the batter to overpowering for me. However, the crushed peas were buttery and glorious. Sadly the battered cod I at from my local fish and chips shop the night before was substantially more enjoyable to eat. My wife went for the Dover sole served on the bone. Though we'll cooked she felt that it had been frozen rather than was fresh. So wonderful venue, fabulous service but the food is good not great.

We walked in around 6:30pm and asked for a table for 3 & a child. The 2 ladies at the entrance apologized as they have no availability.. we asked if we could register and wait even for an hour, the ladies replied that they are fully booked and offered us seat at the bar (!!). We left to check other nearby spot but my daughter decided to check their website and she was surprised to find few slots within the next 60min so she booked a 7:15pm table.. we spent the next 15min before our appointment enjoying the river side. We showed up on time and we said we have a booking at 7:15..the ladies were firm that they have no available table and tried to blame it on OpenTable although before confirming our booking on OT, it was on their own website! We insisted as we will not pay the no show charges. All of sudden, our table was available! If it wasn’t for my daughter who got reco to try them out; I’d have never dined there after such rude responses by the front door ladies. Now the food was actually great and our waiter was even greater.. yet, the front door experience left an awfully bad taste in our mouths. Personally, I’ll never eat at Scott’s again.

We went for Sunday dinner, hoping for a great experience considering it's location and being well know for its fish dishes! We were taken to our seat offered water, which was nice but then had to wait 20mins for our drink order to be taken! Please be aware we declined the water so service standard should have been to take our drinks order pretty quick. I was told that the Sancerre only came in a 125ml glass, I had to open up the wine menu to show otherwise. Throughout our time there we had to catch the eye of a waiter to get refreshments. Having said that the restaurant manager was a delight and very professional. I would generally not bother putting in a review however my daughter and I have suffered terribly with food poisoning since then and still trying to recover. Unfortunately Scott's is not recommended, service standard was sub par and the only memory now is the agony of food poisoning! DONT HAVE ANY FISH DISH HERE!

Opulent interior. Buzzy atmosphere. Felt special. Good service. Food overpriced. Steak grisly. My fault for ordering steak in a seafood restaurant? Perhaps, but I’ve had much nicer steaks for half the price. Smoked salmon (I know, I’m such a cliche) nice, but literally just some salmon on a plate with scant accompaniments. Felt a bit measly. My wife did that thing of ordering half a lobster then realising there isn’t a lot of meat. Her Paris breast desert was really nice. My chocolate truffles were chocolate filled with a kind of jelly, so not really truffles. Drinks expensive. £15 for a small glass of low to average cab sav. Cocktails and shorts with mixer same price, though nicely done. Overall, £280 for a meal for two felt like we paid for the fit out, the location and the experience (nice live jazz) more than the food and drink itself. I liked it, just wish the food had been a bit nicer to better justify the expense.

However we were given a table at the top of the stairs in the corridor to the 1st floor restaurant by the waiters station. Our second “journey” to Scott’s ended before getting there, same as the first attempt. Despite booking in advance (in the morning) for 16:30 and planning our trip from central London via Richmond park to enjoy a family walk and then to have an early dinner at a high end place on a terrace by the river, we received a call just 45 minutes before our reservation time. The hostess told us they are not able to sit us outside because of the baby stroller (we have mentioned it in the notes when booking). I responded that we don’t want to sit inside and we want to enjoy the weather outdoors. The hostess was trying to convince me that it’s cold outside and that people actually move from the terrace inside as it’s cold for them. I did follow up by saying since everyone is so desperate to sit inside, why can’t you sit us outside (since looks like they much be space). Yet nothing from the hostess. Well, yet we got seated at Gaucho (2minute drive) and despite it being not as high end and we didn’t plan to have a steak, I very much enjoyed it. Second time not even making it to Scott’s Richmond both times because of unreasonable treatment over the call by hostess🤝🏼having visited Scott’s Mayfair couple of times, it is much better service than in Richmond..

Sadly this restaurant has become too successful and has forgotten how to treat its smaller customers. My wife and I booked a table on the terrace for a special occasion on 21 June - our wedding anniversary. It being midsummer, the longest day, we wanted to sit outside. We reserved a table on the terrace a full 10 weeks in advance. My wife booked the day off work. Less than 3 weeks before the big day I received a call to say that the terrace was now being given over to a "Polo event" and that if we wanted to sit on the terrace we would have to attend that event, which started at midday. Clearly this event was going to be far more profitable for them, so we had to be moved aside. Not impressed. We will be celebrating somewhere else.

My recent visit to Scotts in Richmond was profoundly disappointing and fell far below the expectations one would have for an upscale dining establishment. The shocking highlight of our lunch was discovering a sizable piece of plastic in our food. When we brought this to the attention of our waiter, his reaction was to laugh it off and casually offer us a replacement of the same dish—no apology was provided, nor any genuine concern displayed. For an establishment that prides itself on class and quality, the casual dismissal of such a significant issue was surprising and unacceptable. To add to our dissatisfaction, the waiter decided to compensate us with a complimentary dessert, which we did not desire, instead of addressing the mistake by adjusting our bill appropriately. This experience left us eager to leave and doubtful about returning. A luxury restaurant should not only offer impeccable food but also match it with equally outstanding service. Scotts, unfortunately, missed the mark on both counts during our visit.

This place has gone really downhill I am downgrading this review from 5 star previously after the miserable experience I had this time and cannot believe what this place has become; we booked a table and specifically requested a quiet table yet the manager arrogantly told us to be grateful and gives us dirty looks The bread was also stale and after seeing how noisy it was we decided to leave and one of the waitresses next to the old arrogant manager with glasses was laughing at us and we had to argue with them as they wanted to charge us for no show and the reason I believe was racially motivated as they started to behave strangely once they saw one of us wearing a headscarf I have never seen rubbish in a "high end" restaurant and will never consider visiting another scotts branch until this manager is sacked and disciplined as this place is more like a nightclub than a fancy restaurant

Visited Scott’s a few weeks ago with my friend who is a regular at the Richmond restaurant, where we had a racially motivated terrible experience. A member of management who did not reveal his name approached us after being seated in the main dining section and had told my friend that hats were not allowed to be worn within the establishments. We had dined at Scott’s Richmond numerous times prior to this and he had worn a hat but on this occasion it seemed to be a problem. The member of management then proceeded to tell us he or no member of staff at the restaurant will be serving us that day. I then went onto the website which disclosed Scott’s Richmond dress code where at no surprise there was no suggestion of hats not being allowed in the restaurant. I then told the manager this and his response was ‘same way we do not allow dogs in the restaurant but do not advertise this policy online’. To compare allowing a dog into a place where people dine to someone wearing a hat allowed me to make enough judgement on what the situation was really about, this manager is extremely racist and unprofessional we were the only young black people in the restaurant at the time which definitely motivated him to treat us with such disrespect. My friend who was a regular at this restaurant felt extremely embarrassed by this event especially at the fact many staff (especially Pierre) recognised him and refused to acknowledge the fact that they’d seen him many a time at the establishment in a hat. There is no problem with having rules and dress codes, but ensure customers are able to locate these on your website and they are enforced within your establishment.

Tranquil, elegant and classy. I was looking to treat my girlfriend to a chic jazz evening with melodious music and flavoursome food with great service. I decided to book a terrace table at ‘Scotts Richmond’ and what a fantastic idea that turned out to be. We were lucky as the weather was great, so we were able to enjoy scenic views of the river & surroundings whilst enjoying delicious wines and food. We were assisted by Renée and the amazing Imogen who were both attentive and very service orientated. Imogen gave excellent food and wine recommendations, was very personable and checked on us throughout the meal. We shared a perfectly cooked asparagus dish to start and then went on to enjoy the ‘Blackened miso Salmon’ and ‘Monkfish and Tiger prawn masala’, which were both very tasty, hot and very palatable. Also, we enjoyed a pleasing bottle of Sancerre and followed that with a subtle & very tasty bottle of Mâcon-villages. The smooth jazz was emanating around the full restaurant and added to our delectable dining experience. We enjoyed a perfect summer night that appealed to all our senses and one that we will look to hopefully repeat again soon. Imogen was the ultimate professional who checked on us timely, gave perfect recommendations and was the perfect ambassador for this prestigious establishment. Very overpriced for the food and service. Whilst I am very happy to pay for good food the cost was not justified. I don’t expect to have to ask for the wine list 3 times when we wanted to change wines. I also would have been very happy to pour my own water if they would have just left the jug at the table! If you really are going to take the plunge….The honeycomb ice cream dessert looked and tasted far better than my tiny crème brûlée…. My recommendation…. Take your £140 and go somewhere else…. Mason Francois is exceptional…..

AVOID!!! One of the worst dining experiences we have ever had and their management handled our complaint appallingly. They were so incredibly rude. The service was horrendous from the moment we entered and not even close to the level you expect for £140pp. There are so many lovely place to go in the area, you don’t need to waste your money here.

I dined out as a group of 10 today. We had to place a deposit of £75 a head weeks in advance to secure the table. What a let down. We were told what time we needed to depart as we sat down which wasn’t the best welcome, a few order errors later and we thought fine, it wasn’t great but the food was good. Then came the nail in the coffin. We enquired as to whether we could go upstairs for a drink at the bar, to which they replied “no, the bar was full.” We had paid almost £1.5k for the lunch so after initially leaving, one of the party popped back to double check as we felt it was a bit of a brush off. After some mixed messages they finally said yes, we could go upstairs. We entered a completely dead bar. We ordered a cocktail each but as we were told quite explicitly none of the tables were to be sat at, we spent the next hour being pushed past by members of staff. Several times we asked if we could sit down at an empty table but were told no, diners were coming. After raising the fact we had been kicked off our table early, refused entry to the (empty) bar and not being offered seating to senior management it became clear that Scott’s doesn’t do customer service. It does the bare minimum and hopes that it’s reputation is enough. It’s not. Don’t waste your money here.

We attended the jazz night dinner at Scott's Richmond, and the earliest reservation I could secure was for 9 PM on a Wednesday. Surprisingly, the venue wasn't crowded. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed and captivated by the stunning decor. The host was delightful, thoroughly explaining the specials and menu offerings. The Dover sole and hispi cabbage are must-tries in my book. For starters, we opted for the 'plateau de fruits de mer,' but in hindsight, choosing Oysters alone might have been preferable, despite the ceviche being quite enjoyable. The jazz music set a lovely ambiance, played at just the right volume. However, there was a downside to our experience. We felt pressured to leave, rushed through our meal and wine, which dampened the mood, especially since it was our 4-year anniversary—a detail I had mentioned when booking, yet no special acknowledgment was made. On a brighter note, the fish was exquisite, and my partner's pork belly was tender and rich in flavor. We plan to return, hoping for a more relaxed dining experience and improved customer service.

Such a special place to have had my birthday lunch - it helped that it was the sunniest day of the year so far, so ambitiously booking the terrace paid off! (The amazing staff did say we could move inside if we wanted 😎) Service impeccable from all parties from the initial welcome through to leaving, fish was wonderful (beautiful skate and a lovely red mullet special) and the desserts were a joy (Paris-Brest and the doughnuts, as recommended by our waiter). Maitre d' was super charming too. Got to love the French training! Wine and cocktail recommendations all hit the spot as well... Will definitely be back!

Beautiful restaurant, serving delicious food and with a very mixed crowd, making it quite relaxed and a nice atmosphere. Fish and shellfish are the specialities but there are a couple of meat/chicken dishes, but it’s mainly for lovers of seafood.

Delicious food in a beautiful setting - absolutely loved the baked crab, the miso salmon, the lemon madeleines and the butternut squash curry. Lots of veggie options on a standalone menu, though their fish is definitely the best part of their menu. Gorgeous setting and good service. Will be back!

I’ve been to the Ivy several times but my experience at this branch was a shock that almost brought me to tears. The staff embarrassed and belittled me in such an unprofessional manner. The way I was spoken to, was as if I had done something wrong which I hadn’t. I even spoke to a manager I believe his name was Steve and he was so aggressive and dismissive in the way he spoke to me. I came in for a drink at the bar after having a lovey dinner at Scott’s round the corner and because I was having a lovely night and googled what time they closed I knew I had enough time for a drink. I got into the Ivy at around 9:45pm today and spoke to a guy who worked there and asked him if I could have a seat as I wanted a quick nightcap. I specifically told him it would be just 1 drink. He went to check and came back and told me it was ok, I then gave him my coat, went to the loo and came back to the bar. I asked the lady at the bar if I could order a drink and she said yes and gave me a menu. As I was reading, out of nowhere the manager approached me and starts saying they can’t serve me and that they are closing. I was really confused because I knew I saw 11pm close. I asked him can I not get just 1 drink and he said no. I was really upset by this interaction and later after searching online to double check I see that they do in fact close at 11 I asked to speak to speak to him again. He then started dismissing my explanations and saying that it’s down to his discretion to serve me, I told him he was coming across aggressive and he apologised but then continued to be aggressive. His apologies were not even genuine and the whole interaction was very combative as he had clearly made some type of preconceived idea about me so I just said ok. I’m sure he only spoke to me the way he did because I’m a young black woman, as I find it hard to think he would talk so disrespectfully to a white older man or woman. It was one drink, I was having such a lovely day and wanted to continue treating myself. I started recording myself talking about the negative interaction because I was so confused by it, to me it wasn’t that big a deal so there had to be more to it. They made the mistake of letting me in after they had stopped taking walk ins but I was already sat and comfortable how is 1 drink that big of a deal. I had not done anything wrong and to be treated the way I was is extremely rude and disappointing. They had people in the restaurant at the time who all would have seen how he spoke to me, I’m not a trouble maker but was made to feel as if I was one. I guess after he saw me recording my video he then told the bartender to make me a drink which I obviously refused. After all that fuss and the way I was made to feel it was too little too late. It just goes to show that he could have let me have that drink. He did come back to apologise when I was waiting to get my coat to leave, this time actually sounded genuine but the damage was done. The apology although sounding genuine this time was as a result of me recording and refusing his drink. I don’t need a free drink I’m very capable of buying a drink, it’s the lack of decency and good customer service to all customers regardless of what you think of them. Not that it should even make a difference I wasn’t dressed inappropriately either. This review is extremely long as I am writing this on my way home having just left the restaurant. I want to make it clear I’m not wanting rules to be bent for me but I was on track to get my drink and if a mistake is made I’d expect in this scenario as I was sat down and told I could have the drink it should have been fine. I’m clearly still upset but will not be going to back and will be sharing my experience.

Service was lovely and prompt even though it was very busy in the restaurant! Completely faultless. Loved everything about our evening at Scott’s. Service was perfect - the staff on the welcome desk, waiters, sommelier, even the cleaner were all magnificent. The food was all brilliant - oysters were fresh, the fish was all cooked perfectly, and everything we ate was interesting. The wine list is impressive, and the recommendations were perfect for our meal. We could use have ordered several bottles! The decor is absolutely stunning, and really lends itself to the overall atmosphere, which is lively and buzzing. Highly recommend a visit to Scott’s - you won’t be disappointed!

We have eaten as a family three times at Scott’s Richmond and every meal has been nearly faultless. I stress ‘nearly faultless’ as I do note that the reception on front desk can be mixed. We have had warm and friendly welcomes and quite offish welcomes. It depends on the person. I wish they would sort that out. It has the clear optics of ‘profiling’ customers based on perceived appearance, which is think is extremely old fashioned and unnecessary. My tattooed husband finds it pointedly offensive. But as mentioned, there are perfectly friendly staff at front desk too. We always enjoy sharing a platter of cumbrae oysters, and they are as good as anywhere. The monkfish cheeks with snails and marrowbone is my go-to starter and is divine, as is the skate wing main. My son always goes for the baked lobster which never disappoints. What I love about Scott’s Richmond is the extremely well managed balancing act in the actual dining room between a fine dining establishment and a neighbourhood restaurant. It’s one of my favourite restaurant interiors full stop, and the environment is very sophisticated. However, you can also relax, let your hair down and have a really pleasurable meal. You’ll find a mix of diners from very smart to smart casual locals, and sometimes casual casual. I find the service well paced, never hurried, and that perfect balance between being attentive whilst not overbearing. I find the staff especially kind towards children (my son is 12) which is not always the case in premium restaurants. A special shout out to Chelsea, who has looked after our table twice. Her knowledge of the food is excellent, her recommendations perfect, and her consideration of allergies second to none. She is also extremely warm and polite and always makes sure it’s an enjoyable evening. As mentioned earlier, I wish that guaranteed level of warm and welcoming professionalism extended to front desk, which remains inconsistent. If you have an egg or dairy allergy, you might struggle with deserts. It would be nice to see a vegan option that wasn’t ice cream. However, that is a typical problem in most restaurants. We have had a lot of special family dinners in this restaurant, and we look forwards to more.

Located on the banks of the river in Richmond, you can enjoy fresh seafood plates and delicious cod while watching the people taking leisurely vacations in summer. Scott Richmond is my favorite seafood restaurant. I find the tranquility of the British countryside in the noisy London, and the combination of affordable high-quality and delicious seafood feasts in the expensive city. Especially the seafood plate, lobster and steak are both great!

Genuinely disappointing. Service at the front desk was not friendly at all from one particular lady. She was quite abrupt and unhelpful. Our waiter was excellent (Csaba I think). Waiter who served drinks was unable to tell us the drinks specials. Food was mediocre. Felt it was over priced and not great value. All in all just felt like a fancy venue in need of polishing service skills.

We went to the supper club. It's fantastic value for money - at £65 pp it includes a fabulous 3 course meal with wine pairings and Luce is very generous with his measures! It's a great way to meet new people in a beautiful setting right on the Thames. You really must go - not emperor's new clothes - gorgeous food at un-inflated prices. Thoroughly recommend.
