Ordered 6 hot wings and by far some of the best I’ve ever had. Staff were great and only took five minutes as they were cooked to order. Great price as well and tasted amazing. Highly recommend!

Mr Cods is one of the best chip shops in the area. we are trying to go and collect the food ourselves as the charges they have to pay to uber eats, justeat ect are enormous, it works out much cheaper to go collect ourselves. Also the food is lovely 😀

Had small cod and chips very recently, it was excellent!! Fish was lovely quality, great batter, chips were superb, everything was cooked to perfection. Very pleased, will be visiting again soon. Thanks!!

Tasty savaloy and chips, but waited 15mins for it.

I ordered on just eat,chicken nuggets and fries for my son but only got the nuggets so gave bad review but the manager went out of his way to ring and apologised then brought more food so for this I change the review

What are pity this place used to be great value and good quality now and the new management and the large cod size charged at £7.80 was an extremely small amount of fish even smaller than the old regular portion won't be going back at these prices. However a piece of skate I saw a seems quite a large size.

First time here and we were not disappointed. We ordered a large & small fish and chips and it cost about £21. We had to wait a short while as the fish was cooked fresh. We ate in as there are a couple of tables. The place was clean. Whilst we were eating there we a steady flow of customers and delivery drivers collecting orders. Definitely worth a visit and when we are in the area again we will eat here.

We went with a big order which was dealt with efficiently.

When it comes down to Friday night's fish n chips, we can't think about any other food than Mr. Cod's Fish n chips. They always deliver their services to high standards, neat shop and polite members of staff. They make our Friday's sometimes weekdays evening more enjoyable with delivering crunchy fish and very generous portion of chips. Oh yes! One more thing, their curry sauce is just mouth watering. Thank you all sooo much!!!!

Sadly has gone downhill quite a bit since it was taken over a little while ago. Portions of both fish and chips used to be massive, now a 'large' cod is smaller than what was previously 'medium'. Fish seemed fairly fresh but was thin and overcooked. Batter was super greasy. Chips were greasy also. Sad to say we will be finding an alternative after several years of coming here.

Visited Mr Cod for the 1st time yesterday and will definitely be returning. Ordered 1 large cod, large chips and battered sausage and was perfect to share between 2. Tasted top draw. Friendly service, decent price and all cooked fresh to order meaning it was well worth the 5-6 minute wait. Highly recommend.

We have ordered from here virtually every Friday for quite a while now and food is always consistently good. Visited a couple of days ago (Tuesday), and ordered battered sausage & chips twice for my son and I. He's only ever had the battered sausage & chips from here, and I've only ever had the cod & chips, and he said it was the best he's ever had - I was very impressed too. Lots of lovely fresh crispy batter on the sausages and great chips. Great value. Thank you!

Uncooked chips and the large cod looked regular Ordered online and it took 35 minutes Guy in the shop said he was on his own although I hadn’t complained about anything just tried to leave twice but he forgot one item then same thing happened again

Raw chips! I mean how difficult is it to cook stuff properly if you work in a chip shop Large cod must have been malnourished! Won’t be rushing back

Totally rip off. No customer service 😕 staff is soo rude. Firstly they would tell you the half story. First time ever, I heard that meal is fish with extra chips no drink included. Sauces are 60p for a ketchup or mayonnaise each if you would like a peri peri salt. It's another 60p. There a plenty other fish and chips are go else where

The food was OK but they're not really geared up for diners to eat in. No cutlery provided, just a plastic fork, no napkins and no hand sanitiser in sight. We had to ask for the drinks we paid for and contactless payment is apparently somewhat novel.

When you order fish and chips you expect fish and chips, not just chips, right? Apparently not from this cafe...

Sorry to say not good. Fish was so thin hardly anything there. The chips were too hard I was worried I would break a tooth. I will not use this shop ever again I’m afraid!!! I now have indigestion!!!

OMG these guys know how to make fish and chips! I went there for the first time yesterday evening, ordered 2 large cod and chips and one small, and one saveloy. It was absolutely delicious, so delicious the first thing I thought this morning when i woke up was just how good the fish and chips had been. Their fillets do not have the bottom layer of skin, so no slimey layer at the bottom. The batter was perfect, and obviously cooked at the right temperature so no excessive saturation of fat into the batter when frying the fish. The price was reasonable too. They are friendly and polite, place is nice and clean, and there is parking right outside.

What's happened to Mr Cod?? Used to be really nice but we've now had two pretty terrible meals in a row and sadly they will be our last. Was giving benefit for the first time but the second was exactly the same. Dry crunchy chips and dry crunchy fish in brown batter. Both of which tasted like refried leftovers. Sad!!

Ordered for my grandad who hasn’t been able to have take away due to lockdown he said it was the best fish and chips he’s ever had was still hot when arriving and so much flavour! Also the mars fritter was so yummy especially with ice cream will defo order again and I cannot wait to come try it !

Disappointing. Delivery promised of one to one and a half hours but which resulted in well over 2 hours even with a reminder after first hour and a half. Fish was barely warm and chips tired, dry and cold. £40 wasted in my opinion. My 5 guests were polite but not enthusiastic. I will not b going back! It was the Friday evening the day it was announced hat Pubs were to b closed next day due to the pandemic crisis.

First time here, absolutely superb fish and chips! Excellent batter, delicious fresh fish, chips were perfect. Mushy peas were the best ever according to my daughter! They were also happy to do us gluten free fish and chips, so we’ll definitely be back! Nice guys running the place too. I’ve never felt inclined to leave a review for a chip shop before but in this case, can’t recommend enough. Thanks guys 👍

Large portions of cod in crispy golden batter, piping hot proper chips, what's not to like? We had a takeaway (recyclable wrapping). Very happy and will certainly be ordering from here again.

Got the chicken burger meal. It was nice. The chips were very good but the portion was small. The burger itself was just ok. Chicken was quite thin and the salad was sloppy. £5.60 I think and came with a can so not too pricey.

First time. Great experience. The wait want very long. All battered items were cooked from scratch. (Sunday 18:30ish.) Large cod and large chips with mushy peas filled me perfectly after a have half of my chops to my wife, and I'm a big eater. Small cod and chips is a perfect for one. Quick, filling and tasty - there's little more to add (or subtract) from Mr Cod, the chippy once known as the Venus Fish Bar - surely a more alluring name - back in the 1980s. Mr Cod serves up good takeaways, but the lion's share of the business these days seems to be the constant stream of Just Eat delivery drivers taking wrapped cod n chips to those too busy to leave their TV screens. It's good, hearty trad fish and chips, with an array of cheaper lunchtime specials - meals for under four quid - to encourage trade at the quieter times of day. The blackboard special on the day I visited was tilapia and chips for £6.

Food delivered without chips. Not exactly sure how this is possible given it made up 50% of the order. Promised to deliver missing food within 15 mins. No sign of it half an hour later. Rest of order gone cold. U

I wanted a fairly simple meal, and they did well by me. The small portion of chips that I ordered was just the right size. My burger came with the type of cheese I like. I was happy with my meal.

Nice atmosphere, good food and adorable aquarium by the door. There is a small amount of space to eat in, the portion sizes are generous, and the price is decent.

I nearly past the chippy on Friday, 28th December. The guys were very kind and the taste of their fish and chip was excellent. They use a different oil. This is my taste. I will see you next week, definitely.

Love the takeaway chicken and chips from here! Proper chip shop chips, and they sell gravy, too. Perfect for Northerners in London who want a proper local chip shop.

Good price and great tasting chips and fish. A bit loud, and closes in the late afternoon, so check the times.

Have been a frequent customer here over the past few years and every take away fish and chips has been superb. I have previously praised a fish restaurant in Richmond and named it as the best in the area. Mr Cod's is better. The large cod is huge and the chips crispy and generous in number.....something that I moaned about at the Richmond restaurant was....I actually thought they counted the chips out.! Mr Cods does have tables so you can eat in if you want and the staff are friendly..well worth a visit.

Una tienda de patatas fritas de pescado local n. No es el peor por mucho y tengo que decir que un poco por encima de la media. El Abadejo estaba recién preparado y buen pescado blanco. No mucho mejor y al mismo precio que cod - normalmente no es el caso. Patatas fritas bien. Puede sentarse pero no la tentación. Buen servicio y señaló también la llevan. Nos estrella extra debido a buen pescado. Porciones razonables.
