Lovely restaurant by the river. Good food and welcoming service. Quiet when we went but it was a Monday evening.

Were out of caviar and oysters, sashimi could of been fresher & portions bigger

Coming from New Zealand, as a treat for our 45th wedding anniversary, we booked in for dinner. Having been to Rick Steins seafood restaurant in Padstow 20 years ago, we thought we were in for such a treat. So sad it was not. The staff had long faces, the service was very ordinary and the meal left us wondering why we had spent so much on so very little. A huge disappointment for us.

Average meal. Rick Stein’s champagne was some of the worst I have tasted. Asked for Brandy Alexander cocktails at the end of the meal and checked they had all the ingredients. I was told they had. They came out with grated chocolate on top instead of nutmeg. If you haven’t got the ingredients tell the diner. Won’t be returning.

Great service, great food, look for tables with river view.

We went to Rick Stein's for a family birthday meal. We firstly got some bread and olives to start, the bread was completely burnt on the bottom and very dry, and they also give you a tiny amount of butter which runs out on one slice (very stingy). Then for mains 3 of us ordered the clam linguine which consisted of a large tablespoon of plain spaghetti with 6 tiny clams on top - no sauce, no flavour and the tiniest portion I have ever seen in a restaurant, this meal was also around the £23 mark if I remember correctly (crazy for the size of it). It didn't even seem big enough for a starter. My brother ordered the staple 'crab' dish which consisted of a crab that you have to shell yourself with hot sauce and noodles, it was SO messy and there was literally NO crab meat in it. You would think for the hefty price tag of £50 they would manage to give you a crab with some meat in it. I tried some of the hot sauce and noodles and it just tasted like a hot chinese takeaway, he was very disappointed. The fish and chips which others ordered was also very disappointing, typical fish shop mushy peas (nothing special) and tartar sauce that was very gloopy, there was also only about 6 chips hidden under the fish. All in all a very disappointing meal that was extremely over priced. We did not want to complain in the restaurant as it was my sisters birthday, and she didn't want a fuss made, however, if it weren't I would of returned my meal and asked for my money back. Staff and atmosphere were all lovely though, it was the food that really let this well known restaurant down.

A great location representing a famous name, the food was great however the service was very poor. What a pity..

We had the full English breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The ingredients are high-quality and cooked very well. The view of the river is very nice and the staff were most accommodating for intolerances, food swaps (i.e black pudding for avocado) and the children in our group.

We are huge fans of Rick Stein and planned a lunch here on 22nd February. We were with our friends, a new born baby and a dog. We called in advance to ensure the dog and baby were ok and the restaurant agreed to seat us on the terrace, brilliant. Upon arrival we were met at the door by an extremely rude member of staff who immediately made a comment about our dog. He then informed us that they’d shut the terrace and offered no alternative place for us to be seated. He said they were ‘dog friendly, but not in the restaurant’. Frustratingly they could offer us no option for lunch because the restaurant had made the decision to shut the terrace. We asked why they didn’t call us in advance and instead let us travel for hours to visit their restaurant only to be refused entry! No reasonable response. The rude member of staff shrugged his shoulders and offered no apology of alternative which was extremely distressing for new parents with a 2 week old baby. I’m not sure why they couldn’t just seat us inside, our little spaniel would’ve been fine. We called in advance, received no communication from them and were offered no solution. It’s a real shame for Rick that his name is above the door with this level of service. We will not be returning.

Service is good plus good riverview as well if you can reserve riverside tables. I am a bit disappointed with the Fish and Shellfish soup as there is no fish nor shellfish pieces inside my bowl of soup which costs over £10.00. However, taste and presentation of the soup is very nice. Hopefully, the chef can consider adding pieces of fish and shellfish into the soup to match the name of the soup. Also, the male toilet is a bit small. You have to squeeze yourself in if one tries to get out and the other person wishes to enter. As the external entrance door to the male toilet has no frosted glass, I nearly pushed the door onto the person who was standing on the other side of door. If possible, please consider to install sign or movement sensing light so that person outside the toilet can take caution that there is person at the other side of the door.

Professional yet personal service from our wonderful host who we called Stanley Tucci ! Our hostess ( Maria) was also equally as knowledgeable and gave us a wonderful experience and insight to the menu and we really had the most wonderful afternoon so thank you all .

Service, location and restaurant were excellent but we found the food to be average. The food is so heavily dosed in butter that it's actually sickly and difficult to digest. The flavour profiles were also very tradtitional. We often eat at good fish restaurants in London and we find their menus tastier, healthier more compelling. Rick Stein's restaurant in a classic place however and offers a lovely spot for dinner if you want very safe and traditional food.

Was a kind of last min decision to give it a go. Staff were excellent, not overbearing but attentive. The atmosphere was relaxed, tables not too close. On-site parking is a bonus! Had 6 oysters to start, followed by a crab/chilli linguine. Perfect portion size and decent heat from the chilli and plenty of crab. For main, Indonesian fish curry. Was very good. Better than expected. Desert was sticky toffee pudding, which was delightful. Perfect location right on the river watching super healthy athletic rowers passing by as I athletically devour a sticky toffee pudding. Defo recommend.

A nice place with incredible view. I enjoed food and tried few cocktails from bartender Alex at the bar. It was very tasty. I like new cocktail Last word and my friend likes Peach & Jasmine spritz. Thanks for the recommendation. This is exactly what we wanted to try. Good service and nice atmoshere.

Outstanding food and very friendly staff!

Lovely place and the food selection is amazing. One thing I was a bit disappointed about was pasta vongole. It had lemon in it, which ruined the taste for me. I prefer the traditional variation without lemon. Just put lemon on the side because not everyone likes it. Also the portion of pasta was tiny. I had to order a second main because I was still hungry after the pasta. I had starters and a dessert too so it wasn’t my only dish. Just add more linguine! The amount of vongole wasn’t great either but at least add more pasta as it costs nothing. The second main I ordered was fish and chips and it was the best I’ve ever had. Highly recommended Btw it has ££ score on google maps but in fact it’s £££, it is an expensive restaurant and our bill for 3 adults was nearly £400

This place was nice and had a great view of the river, although the food didn't match the quality and the price. The only thing I could eat and enjoy was the latte and the hallomi for starter. The prawns were awfully raw and under seasoned. I have asked to have my food without cucumbers as I'm allergic, but they brought the food with the cucumber and I completely lost my appetite and was nauseous. My partner had fish and chips which he liked but the whole experience was ruined because of the cucumber and uncooked food. Overpriced as well!

Tuve un hermoso lenguado Megrim, honestamente una de las mejores piezas de pescado que he comido, impresionante. ¡Y los postres! Teníamos Panna Cotta y el Sticky Toffee Pudding, ambos eran sublimes. El precio es muy razonable - de hecho, el menú admite varios pricepoints, que me parece genial. Indudablemente volveré a visitar, gracias.

We had dinner at Rick Stein on Friday evening and was looked after by the lovely Yulia. The food and wine were delicious and Yulia was friendly, engaging and made sure we had everything we wanted. Thank you Yulia for your brilliant service! We’ll definitely be back for breakfast soon ❤️

Me and my husband visited this restaurant for the first time for our 41 years wedding anniversary, we have been served by Manasa , she was warm , friendly , high quality of service and delicious food , we will highly recommend this restaurant

Went last Saturday and had 3 dishes from the set menu, absolutely delicious especially the Cullen Skink followed by chicken katsu curry and very light ginger sponge for pudding!

We are regulars - as such the food quality is good. Last night (21Feb), the fish and chips failed us. The outer was soggy, soft, thick. Crispness is not an art form- even a chippy shop can perfect. The rest of the food (goat cheese salad, pasta, hake etc) were good.

Absolutely delicious lunch and very attentive staff!! Would highly recommend. Easy to park during lunchtime visit as no restrictions after 11am on residential bays.

Have eaten here many many times, service was lovely a always , but food disappointing , 5 dishes ordered , 1 didn’t turn up when it did it was cold , scallops which I order every time I eat here were so over cooked like bullets and returned . Wine arrived warm . Not there usual amazing food or wine this time and 165.00 lunch very below there usual standard .

We had a truly wonderful experience at Rick Stein, Barnes, and it was made even more special by the exceptional service from Manasa. She was warm, attentive, and went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable evening. The highlight was when she surprised us with a cake after learning it was my wife’s birthday, a thoughtful gesture that made our celebration even more special. The food was absolutely fantastic. For starters, we had the scallops and grilled sardines, both cooked to perfection and bursting with fresh flavors. For mains, we enjoyed the grilled sea bass, which was beautifully prepared, and the Indonesian seafood curry, which was rich, aromatic, and full of delicious seafood. Every dish was a delight! With an elegant ambiance, outstanding food, and warm hospitality, this was a truly unforgettable dining experience. We’ll definitely be back soon!

This restaurant has a very good location along the Thames River. Visitors can enjoy a very pleasant lunch or dinner sitting by the window. Seating on the main floor is also cozy. Tuesday is a jazz night. We had a wonderful dinner with a very nice live jazz performance. Good food at good price. Servers are exceptionally friendly who make us feel like at home. We would be eager to recommend this restaurant to our friends. Good job 👍 Please keep up with this high quality.

Shared an amazing meal with my husband and friends. The service was exemplary, thanks to Tara. I would definitely be dining here again. If they still have it on the menu, and you still have room, I suggest you get the sticky toffee pudding. Do you want a lovely view across the river, which I suggest you do in order to catch the sunset, then definitely reserve early. Enjoy.

I don’t know what to say we been there on 02/02/2025 with my wife at 5 we ordered our starter and the main and I mentioned to the waitress that my wife she is allergic to cucumber and she doesn’t want any cucumber in my food or her. As even smell of the cucumber makes her sick. We had our starter that was goat cheese and halloumi cheese which was nice. But from the time they bringed the main to table i think they put extra cucumber as well of the main dish as i told them she would get sick with it. I had my fish and chips that even me i fill sick now. I think they really need to pay attention to people's allergies and don't ruin the night that I spend 110£ just for nothing. She didnt even touch the 2 main dishes that she ordered. And we just left after paying the bill. Please respect customers more and if they ask for something pay attention to it. I think you need to ask you managers to speek with the costumers when they haveany problem not to just stay behind the bar and say goodbye. Please please respect the customers and pay more attention.

Amazing place for the weekend dinner with friends. Tara and Momo were great serving us the best quality food and the Indonesian seafood curry was one of the best I ever tasted! 12/1/2025-Sunday. This will be our 3rd Rick Stein Restaurant we has been. We frequent to the one at Sandbank. The other one was at Padstow. We loves all the 3 branches. The standard of service is excellent. Food is delicious, well present. The waitress & waters were very polite & attentive. We love the embient of the restaurant at the Branes. Especially the seating is looking out to The River Thames. We'll be back soon. Highly recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Rick Stein es un hombre admirable y cuando empezó este era un gran restaurante (lo tomó del Depot hace todos esos años). Pero ha bajado cuesta abajo a bastante velocidad ahora que sus hijos lo manejan - y hoy en día el outlet Barnes tiene toda la calidad de estafa que esperas de tantos restaurantes de Londres en estos días. El curry de marisco solía ser una de las estrellas de este lugar y también solía haber un maravilloso plato de cangrejo asiático que era un desastre para comer pero absolutamente delicioso. Pero no más. Tuvimos el curry recientemente y era absolutamente promedio. Y mi esposa todavía no puede superar una ocasión cuando le pidió al camarero una copa de vino blanco y llegó a £ 17. 50 . El servicio siempre se estira aquí en mi experiencia. Mejores experiencias locales en Sam's Riverside y el Chelsea Ivy.

This was a casual night out for me and my husband. We have been before and had a good experience. This was not so good. Wrong drink was brought to the table for me at the beginning. I ordered scallops and at £25 was expecting something great. As another reviewer has mentioned they were tiny and very unremarkable and they were....The smallest I have ever had. Wish I had seen their review before we went.My husband had the pasta alle vongole. Lots of empty shells and several closed. I had seabass which was well cooked on a bed of spinach with a small quantity of a rather watery butter sauce. A bowl of potatoes came but lukewarm. All together a rather disappointing meal. Location is great but for what we paid I expected more

We couldn’t have been treated any better! The window view we were offered was really appreciated. The food ( really it goes without saying) was absolutely delicious!!!! The staff were so friendly but not in your face. It was a perfect way to celebrate a special occasion. Just perfect- thank you to everyone for making our lunch such a lovely experience.

We have been here before and the food has been decent but lunch today was terribly poor. We opted for the set menu as the dishes looked good but with hindsight perhaps sticking to the main menu would have been better. The goats cheese , in breadcrumbs, on the salad seemed mass produced and the salad had no dressing, the Cullen skink had absolutely no flavour and was a weak and watery consistency. We both ordered coley in a veloute sauce, this was such a disjointed combination of flavours - large chunks of apple, no discerneable taste of the promised pink peppercorns and the veloute was far from the smooth, silky sauce it should be as again it was thin, watery and lacking in flavour, the fish itself was tough and chewy. The location by the riverside is lovely but in no way makes up for such poor quality food.

Stunning views, lovely brunch and excellent cappucinos

It was my birthday, we had reservation. We arrived at 5 pm . The host first( blonde guy) was not smily or happy or anything positive didn’t meet us properly 😂. He gave us the worst table next to “station” we were with a toddler and requested quiet table preferably with a view (by the time we left nobody was sitting there) I asked to change table after we were sited as too many people was walking around us. and the another host who was really nice moved us to the nicer table ( not with view but better and quieter) which is much appreciated(I don’t remember name sorry). Food was really delicious. We could not stay for dessert as we had this table till 7 . Usually before leaving the restaurant offers complimentary dessert with candle or something.which would have been nice, not because we wanted free sweet just for the candle or recognition for my birthday (we paid over £200.) Overall this is a nice restaurant with nice food but service has to improve. It is not hard to allocate tables so everyone can be happy( when definitely you have plenty of room) and it is not hard to smile when guests are arriving. Thanks

My wife took her elderly mother for breakfast.Ordered full English.When it arrived no black pudding and was a very small sausage, asked waitress and she just said oh i think we we ran out, charged the same and not offered an alternative, ordered skinny cappuccino then told only had full fat milk, eggs were over done and toast I think was stale bread , very disappointed have been to restaurant Before but won't be back

My wife took her elderly mother for breakfast this morning.The full English was not complete and yet a full price was charged.Also they had no skimmed or semi-skimmed milk for a coffee only full fat.Thete was no money taken off the bill but the staff were apologetic. This is not really good enough for a restaurant of this reputation and we will not be returning.

An Evening meal with my family to celebrate one of my sons birthdays We were served by a charming attentive young lady called Manasa . A great experience.

Very good helpings and a good experience. We had dinner but their lunch with the amazing view would be amazing

to charge such premium pricing, the restaurant needs to take better attention to the waiting staff's quality. She didn't have any knowledge of the festive showcase menu, unable to pronounce the names of the drinks that we could understand, being pretty much disturbant and pushy, we couldnt have a peaceful talks during the dinnner. She even asked me to help her clearing up the dirty dishes on the table because she didnt want to move around or come back the 2nd time to clear. Food wise, the festive menu which was supposed to show case the chef ability, was underwhelming, to say the least. My grilled hake was not fresh and pathetically overdone. The soufle was bland and uninteresting.

Lovely restaurant, great atmosphere, very cosy. Food was bad. Not terrible, but bad. The starters were served (accidentally) cold and we're pretty flavourless. The mains were ok - the kind of quality you expect from a Harvester. Dessert was tasty. Service was pretty good - attentive but not overly so.

We were on holiday from New Zealand and love Rick Stein recipes so we decided to go to Rick Stein Barnes while we were in London. It was a big disappointment. We turned up early for our booking because we had been in the area, and when we got to the door and told the waiter our name, he found the booking on his computer and then said “You’re early” in a very grumpy voice. We volunteered to wait at the bar, so we sat and were putting our coats on a rack when a waiter told us not to put them there, again, rudely. A different waiter explained that we could put our coats on a rack by our seats when a table was ready, but did not suggest what to do with them in the mean time. We sat at the bar and decided what to have, but we were ignored by the bar staff for several minutes afterwards before they asked us what we would like. Eventually the waiter came back and told us that our table was ready, so we sat down and ordered. The food was mediocre and the service was terrible- the waitress slapped our food down with a grunt. The toilets were also dirty. We would not recommend this restaurant- we were really looking forward to a nice meal but it was expensive and bland, and the service was awful.

Top class service excellent food and a brilliant atmosphere. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves good food .One very happy customer.

Atmosphere great and lovely views of river Service was flawless However my Scallop starter was super disappointing-over cooked and rubbery! Curry was lovely though

Had the fish and chips and couldn’t believe how soggy it was and not crispy at all. To the staff’s credit they removed from the bill at the end but still I was surprised that this place could not get a classic dish right. Even when I asked for vinegar they brought it in a cup that was impossible to apply in drips like you would do with vinegar. This is a salt and vinegar UK-based recipe and they didn’t score highly at all. On the plus side, bread was good and made on premise, beer was nice as were olives. Disappointment overall though.

♥️ I just loved this place! The curried mussels was the stand out dish for me but equally the salad was perfect 👌🏼 and the seafood pasta was delightful too! Sitting with the view of the Thames all makes for a relaxing meal! Thank you for a really enjoyable afternoon

I had booked this as a special occasion, my partner is a long time fan of Rick’s cooking shows and we were in London from Aus close to his birthday. Unfortunately it was quite average - some of the dishes were great (soufflé and the seafood soup) some good to average (curry and the fish I had for main) but 1 was quite below par (which was unfortunately the fish my partner had). As well as this, the restaurant was cold in temperature and ambience, you could tell they were trying to have some ambience with a live singer but it just didn’t quite work. All up I would call this good but not great, but the price tag deemed that it should have been exceptional (Equivalent to $550 aud for 3 people)

This was a fantastic lunch experience the staff was brilliant the food was excellent I recommend the set menu for £29.95. I had Piri piri sardines for starters salt coley and chickpea stew for main and panna cotta for dessert all beautifully presented and delicious. I had two coca cola's and a Espresso priced well for this kind of restaurant. Thank you kindly I will see you soon.

Feels like a bit of a gimmick. Service was very poor and oysters made one of the party sick. Waiter didn’t have a clue about any of the wines or the dishes. A different person took the order, served the drinks, served the food, took the desert order and brought the cheque. Very very poor. Food was bang average and it is very expensive. @rick sort it out mate

My wife and I are Austraian and we had taken our 92yo cousin and a friend for lunch, this is the third time over the past years we have celebrated birthdays there. As expected we were not disappointed, the atmosphere and food were excellent, however, the highlight of our lunch was the waitress, sadly I did not get her name but I recall she was from Rumania, she was extremely professional ,charming and a delight, my elderly guests were so impressed by her wonderful service. My background is hospitalty industry consulting and I would be extremely happy if my students conducted themselves as this youg lady, please pass our thanks to her. Really nice food, the simple dishes are so well done, and the service was first rate and relaxed for a lunchtime. Try and get a River view seat if you can. Hake was amazing and the Sticky Toffee Pudding made you want to lick the plate.

It’s been some time since I eat at your restaurant,due to very not having food I would expect at top price restaurant. However went on the 24/9/2024 and excellent.And decided to celebrate my birthday on 19/10/2024.and was very disappointed by the presentation of two dishes we had on the 24/9/2024. It looked like the food the food was just thrown on the plate in rush And my same dish I had on the 24/9/2024 was not good. Very disappointing and we were party of four and the bill was expensive which my son paid for. Can’t understand why you as restaurant can’t be consistent on presentation. Barnes resident and would love to make you my restaurant to go too. But your suppose to be top restaurant, However let down with not been consistent and that’s shame

Unfortunately we booked late due to my son's work commitments so we arrived at the restaurant when it was already dark and we couldn't enjoy the view of the river. On the other hand, we enjoyed some truly exciting fish dishes. To accompany even the simple “amuse bouche” with salted butter and olives, we are served a fresh Sauvignon Bauduc. my son chooses the linguine with crab meat, while I choose the scallops with ginger. Then for my son a Turbot (Turb) with Hollandaise sauce and I a Monkfish (Monkfish) wrapped in Serrano ham on a bed of sauerkraut and accompanied by potatoes boiled in butter. I must say that it may seem like a rather strange combination but it is absolutely spot on. We conclude with espresso coffee and two Armagnacs. The expense was quite high: £230.11.

Purtroppo abbiamo prenotato tardi a causa degli impegni di lavoro di mio figlio per cui siamo arrivati al ristorante quando ormai era buio e non abbiamo potuto godere della vista sul fiume. In compenso abbiamo gustato dei piatti di pesce veramente entusiasmanti. Per accompagnare anche il semplice “amuse bouche” con burro salato e olive, ci viene servito un fresco Sauvignon Bauduc. mio figlio sceglie le Linguine con polpa di granchio, io invece le Capesante con ginger. Poi per mio figlio un Turbot (Rombo) con salsa olandese ed io un Monkfish (Coda di rospo) avvolto nel prosciutto Serrano su un letto di crauti e accompagnamento di patate lesse al burro. Devo dire che può sembrare un abbinamento piuttosto strano ma invece assolutamente azzeccato. Concludiamo con caffè espresso e due Armagnac. La spesa è stata piuttosto salata: 230,11 £.

We visited during a day mid-week. A pleasant atmosphere with Thames views, delicious sea-food and quick service.

It's a beautiful restaurant, one minus point for the Ribeye (i know it's a seafood restaurant) .. the Ribeye i wasn't impressed at all. Halloumi were the best I had. The service was very good, our waitress was helpful, patient and sweet personality. Thank you

Fuimos al club de la cena. Es fantástica relación calidad-precio - a £ 65 por persona incluye una fabulosa comida de 3 platos con maridaje de vinos y Luce es muy generoso con sus medidas! Es una gran manera de conocer gente nueva en un hermoso entorno justo en el Támesis. Realmente debes ir - no la ropa nueva del emperador - comida hermosa a precios inflados. Recomiendo a fondo.

Cuando el nombre por encima de la puerta lleva el nombre de Rick Stein hay una gran responsabilidad de entrega a los estándares establecidos por este héroe de la comida y tesoro nacional. En el momento en que llegas y eres recibido por el educado equipo profesional y eficiente dirigido por Luca un maestro de poseer el comedor y orgulloso de cuidar a sus invitados , estás en muy buenas manos. Un encantador comedor con vistas al río es el lugar para disfrutar de mariscos cocinados en hueso que no se me ocurre en ningún lugar mejor con la lanzadera cornish para entregar pescado fresco del más alto calibre a la puerta para que todos los devoremos. Felicitaciones tuvimos una comida maravillosa y esperamos nuestra próxima visita que será el almuerzo para que podamos maravillarnos con la vista al río. Gracias.

Hi We went to the restaurant today for my fathers special birthday We had amazing service and fantastic food. The manager Luca cigliano was so attentive and friendly my parents totally enjoyed their experience at the restaurant and just how pleasant and friendly all the staff were. I will certainly be returning for many more meals.

We've been there many times. Nice location with a great view of the Thames. The staff is very professional and attentive. The good is just perfect in term of quality and quantity.

An actual experience. This isn’t normal. The scallops made me rethink things. Made look at real estate near the coast. I bought one of those big yellow fisherman jackets. Honestly one of the best meals I’ve ever had.

The food was sensational with friendly knowledgeable staff . Can’t wait to go back .

Good fish, nice walk on the river

This was a very good, and rather expensive, meal. Everything was competently executed, but overall it lacked the 'wow factor' one might have hoped for (whence the absence of a fifth star). As an appetiser the two of us shared some padron peppers. These were slightly more peppery than expected, but that may have been a question of seasoning as opposed to intrinsically hotter padrons. Anyway, this made them more enjoyable than the norm. The stems of padron peppers are mostly not really edible, so it would have been better not to have had to ask for plates on which to dispose of them. For starters proper, the seared tuna guacamole was excellent. Fish and seafood soup with rouille and croutons is always lovely, but I found this one slightly disappointing because it had been so heavily reduced as to contain none of the solid shellfish treats one is often delighted to find. My son copped out with a ribeye steak and chips. He said it was very good, but he also remarked that none of the fish dishes had really appealed to him. From memory, the fish alternatives were something like cod, hake and Lobster Thermidor - as well as what I chose. I went for the tronçon of turbot with Hollandaise. I read somewhere that Rick Stein himself would choose this for his last meal. I probably wouldn't, but it was very good nonetheless. A tronçon is essentially a steak of the fish on the bone. Having eventually cracked the secret of handling the bones, my one wish would have been for a slightly larger tronçon. A plus point was that the (necessary) boiled potatoes come automatically. This kind of thing should be more common in my view. For dessert, we shared a strawberry sorbet with chantilly and a semifreddo with fruit compôte. This turned out to be a good call. We both felt that either alone might have proved underwhelming, but that half of both made for a genuinely satisfying dessert. The espressos came after the desserts, which I applaud. Even though we had asked for doubles, they seemed very small and were only charged as singles. The service was courteous and friendly. The Rueda Verdejo wine was lovely. We would both choose it again.
