Went there and I have a service dog as I'm need him at all times I was told by the old rude man that works there to take my service dog out I even showed him my badge I asked him to explain why he can go in he told me cause we serve a lot of Muslim costumers I replied to him under the law my dog is allowed he even goes hospital doctors even in ambulances with me and even to restaurants he just looked to me in a nasty way I did order over the phone the lady there told me 10 minutes they made me wait an extra 30 minutes I don't recommend this fish and chips to no one as they are rude to everyone..... And I'm muslim myself

The smallest portion of cod and chips... OTT WITH THE PRICE.. NEVER GOING BACK..

Both staff members are on there phone and the lady at front serving put the receipt box off from the floor onto the paper sheets the serve chips. DISGUSTING. Fish cake was terrible and roll taste off, never again.

Over priced undercooked chips, cod not fresh old and dry. Disgraceful for the cost £60 with only 2 potions of chips and 2 fish between 4 people. Worst value ever had. Will use Mother Hubbards in future, half the price and better product.

Expensive, fish is always dry, chips are the worst in comparison to any other chip shop chips I’ve had and they’re £4.50.. 4 bloody 50. Are you taking the ****. 4 quid for a cod roe. LOL

Received burnt fish cake for my child. It was rock hard. Never I've come across charcoal burnt fish cake. Rang the shop, apparently this is how it's cooked. Such bad customer service, not even offered a replacement. Never ordering again. Waste of money.

Horrible, decided to treat myself to a nice meal and was treated poorly by staff. I was missing items from my order and was not refunded.

Love there battered sausage and chips. Really can't stay away from this fish shop for to long. I really enjoy battered sausage and chips and I will next time try something new it wouldn't shock me if the fish and chicken and pie are just as beautiful. The staff are quick at dealing with orders and always friendly got great communication skills the chef is blatantly working hard cooking up peoples orders it's in a great location as well.

This place makes my Fridays better :) The food and the service by staff is unmatched! Highly recommended to those who love quality, fresh food :)

Been going to this place since the 90's. Always friendly staff. Especially the Romanian girl. However today she wasn't there. 2 new Asian girls working there talking under thier breath in punjabi and not even asking if I want salt/vinegar on my chips. Rolling eyes when I asked for onion vinegar. Owner should make sure certain standards remain. If there still there with the same attitude, you'll lose a customer of over 20 years.

One of my favourite chippy. Amazing fish, Crispy on the outside and mega soft and juicy on the inside. I ate after 10 mins, and food was still piping hot. They also have onion vinegar, and sell bottles of it too. Always made fresh on order. I always recommend this place and been back so many times

£4.50 for what should be a large bag of chips. Such poor value. Save yourself the hassle and go to Mother Hubbard's in Gants Hill.

This must be THE MOST EXPENSIVE FISH AND CHIP SHOP OF THE UK. Like many other people's reviews, I strongly believe that they should look into the price of their menu. Fish and Chips from £13 - £16 with small portion is definitely way too expensive.

The worst and most appalling customer service I’ve ever had. I was completely shocked by their rudeness.

The chips were like cardboard. Looks as if they had chips left over during the day and re fried them. This is the worst chips I have had from them. Usually they are nice. Mr manager please don't use your left over chips and use them again. I paid the full price for a fresh batch of chips. Dont cheat me. You carry on doing this then you are going to loose your on going customers.

£4.50 for a large chips. That in itself is quite outstanding, yet the portion that accompanied that price is smaller than what I get from the chip shops in central London with their rents most likely 4x the price. Quite absurd and I shan't be coming back, I'd rather make my own or buy for a chicken shop across the road.

It was my first time to buy fish & chips. I asked the till girl would a large f&chips order serve two or three persons. The chef taunted absurdly and insultingly say it will serve ten persons. And the all the three laughed at me. Two ladies and the chef. This chef and staff behind the counter is rude, non professional lacking ethics and customer respect.

Very poor customer service. I went in and asked the male making the fish if there’s any alcohol mixed in it as the lady at the tills was busy. He looked and said to ask the lady and if I can’t see that he is busy. It was a simple question and was responded in a very rude manner. Walked out with the man still arguing at the back.

Usually the food is very good, but today it was very average. Chips were not fresh, fish was adequate. Come on Brothers, you can do better 🙂

Paid £16.00 for rock, chips and a wally and the fish was THE worst I've ever had. It was so dry, I could've re-soled my boots with it. First and last time giving my cash to this place. If you want real fish and chips, I suggest you visit Gigs in Fitzrovia who know their fish 👍🏻

The chips are house cut. There are lovey pies, peas and mash, curry sauce as accompaniments. Surprisingly they have a bunch of vegetarian options as well. There is a well stocked drinks cooler to purchase soft drinks and shandy’s at supermarket market prices. This is mainly a takeaway with a little table and couple of chairs to “DINE-IN” for those serious about their food and prefer eating the fish and chips off the stove !! We walked a mile to eat at this places and loved it !!!! GO FOR IT ! They are the best.

Really high quality, flavourful, fresh-tasting cod that was wonderful even without a sauce. Decent prices for the portion size. Batter on the fish was a tad under-salted but easy enough to season to taste.

I never leave negative reviews for anything, but unfortunately the time has come. I went to this fish and chip shop today for lunch. For the money I spent I am very annoyed with EVERYTHING. First of all their automatic door wasn’t working, so I had to slide it across myself which was not the easiest of doors to slide. I’m sure this is a health and safety issue so please get you automatic door fixed. If I had hurt myself your insurance most probably wouldn’t have covered it. Next, the customer service is dead. The people who work here are miserable and rude. Then, the food is the WORST ever. Chips were old and dry - why?!!! Just ripping people off! I suggest you guys just close down and be done with it.

Not a great first time experience. Customer service is non existent to the point where I wasn't even acknowledged. Most extortionate fish and chips I've ever had and for what I got it's not worth it AT ALL! Chips were dry and not fresh as well as the fish. I waited approximately 20mins on top of that. I popped in here due to the overall great reviews I saw on Google and I happened to be in the area and was craving fish and chips and it's safe to say this was a major disappointment.

Cringe place with an angry owner who has no interest in providing any customer service. I ordered chips but they accidentally put it through as a "small" - so I paid initially. I looked at my receipt and realised they'd put it through as a small, so I asked the owner to charge me for a large and paid the extra £1, but the owner got visibly annoyed because I asked to pay with a debit card and not in cash. The owner gave me a "small" portion without me realising until I got home to eat. My friend bought a small too, and we were given the exact same portion, so I can be 100% sure that the owner was just being a troll. Won't return. No point getting upset because people want to pay using card. I get that these places prefer cash, but not all of us carry it around unfortunately.

The Gluten Free fish & chips were the best we've had. Excellent food.

Have been coming here since the lunchbox meal was 4.99. Then it went up to 5.99 for to covid and today it was 6.99. It is still worth it and good value for money. Fish, chips side and drink. If it went up to 7.99 I'm not so sure. Chips are crispy and tasty. The fish was a bit moist compared to previously but still good. Mushy peas go well with the chips, sometimes I find it too hot when they microwave it for too long.

Not cheap but quality comes at a price. On par with Kennedy's, Faulkner's and seashell of lisson grove. Probably the best in the Ilford area.

Large portions for fair prices, it was the first time I tried fish and chips and it was all right, maybe a bit blant but with some souce and spices you can make it work. Busy and fresh, I would recommend it.

Me and my family order chip roll take outs from here all the time. As vegetarians/vegans, we are drawn to the fact that Brothers cook the chips seperate from their fish! I'd highly recommend! Ps- their oriental burger is delicious!!

After impromptu surprise visit from my nephew & niece from Norfolk today. I treatet them to a lunch box Small Cod & Chips each, with mushy pease & curry sauce. Hey, It went down a treat. I normally ask for battered halloumi and chips and curry sauce. Never disappointed. We only try to go here as a treat, wished the prices were lower, but who doesn't on anything... This was always a favourite for fish and chips, this afternoon got a large chips for £3.20 and chips clearly been refried, so tough to chew, threw half away!

This is local supermarket frozen food just being fried and served....... Everything here is made commercially by other company and just fried here, nothing of their own , nothing special, and iam 100% this is not halal shop

This place is not halal, they lie about the sausage/battered sausage, one of the owner guy was making fun about it with a non Muslim customer, not fat old guy i think its his son , check photo I found on Google of him , and also they sell everything frozen like Iceland, if you don't believe me sit outside the shop 10am-12am and you will see who and which company does the delivery

I got large cod and chips which was cooked fresh to order, I was served by a very polite person who had a little friendly chat with me whilst I was waiting, the gish was a very good size and had a nice crispy batter, chips were good, my meal was served in a box and still tasted fresh on my 10 minute journey home. Very satisfied and I will definitely be going again, highly recommend in my opinion

I'm changing my rating from 5 stars to 3 starts. I was a regular customer. This shop was very good back in the day with an all round service. The staff are still friendly but the food isn't always hot. Have mentioned it and the same thing has happened a couple of times since then. I'll be going elsewhere

Nice fish and chips and friendly service

Everything was done to an excellent standard and the variety of fish on the menu reminds me of my childhood. If I had to make any criticism at all it could only be that the fish portion sizes are a little on the modest size. In all fairness, the cod is actually a beautiful genuine flaky cod and not the cheaper white fish you get palmed off with at other fish bars so being picky about the size is honestly me just being extreme. Service excellent and waiting time not bad. Quality is A+++.

Not as good when I went the 1st time..

This place has gone downhill I'm afraid. They used to be the best around here, but they are now too greasy and much more expensive. Really not worth those kind of prices. Also, their vege burgers are so dry and they hardly put anything in. I have to put my own lettuce, tomato, onion and mayo for it to be edible for my son. £5.49 for just a plain dry burger is a joke. Started buying the Burger King vege burgers and they are delicious and no need to add anything. Will not be buying anything from here again unless their prices go down and they improve on what they put on their burgers instead of being tight!

Just ordered from seven kings and very dissatisfied and disappointed ☹️ chips were hard and didn't seem fresh like they had been reheated and fish I ordered cod and rock ware both disappointing!!! Not worth the price and money spent.

Brothers Fish Bar advertised small cod & chips £4.99 on their window, but refused to uphold that offer when I asked for it insisting on charging £5.99. I was disgusted by the way they dealt with me. Trading standards need to investigate!!!!

I visited to buy fish, chips and curry sauce and opted to try the 'oriental vegan burger" on a whim. The fish, chips and curry sauce were brilliant however I walked away feeling slightly robbed after spending £4 for what was tasted like a supermarket bought spicy bean burger that had been deep fried. I understand they are trying to cater to a veg/vegan audience but please try harder. You are capable of upping your game and having some real stand out veg options.

Below par fish and chips. Extremely greasy fish. The chips were ok. Customer service quite poor. Asked for an update on my order as I'd been waiting for 15 minutes and had the worker snap "were working as fast as we can, it's Friday night!". I didn't disagree , just wanted an update on the order. Anyway, the quality has really slipped over the years. £12 for a small bag of chips and a very greasy piece of fish (majority of this was batter and not fish), is extremely poor value.

I arrived to order a bag of chips and two pickled onions and was told it would be a 10/15min wait which I thought was reasonable because I saw 10 people waiting for their orders. Little did I know that whilst waiting there were constant Deliveroo, Uber Eats and Just Eat drivers arriving, showing their order numbers and their orders were pushed to the front of the queue. All these orders were massive and ended up waiting over half hour. Whilst I waited there must’ve been at least 20 different delivery drivers arrive to pick up food! Why is it okay for people standing at a shop wait longer for their order. Why are the orders not dealt with in order that they are received? I know these orders were placed after mine because when I ordered there were only 3 tickets put up for these app orders and more kept getting added after my order. I will not be getting anything from here again!
