What a team you guys, from the second you enter till you leave you are made to feel welcome! Julie and Stacey looked after us well at the table, Sean made some amazing cocktails and Emma and Jake sent out the most delicious food! We will be back!

I'm a regular customer as I live locally, we've always had great food from Henry's, I still can't fault much except lately the fish batter has been thick, pasty, doughy, greasy tasting, which is a shame as the fish used to be nice flaky thin batter, so I don't know what has happened, all the other food is great

We’ve just visited the boat shed as a family. The reviews looked good and we were seeking a mixture of seafood and other options for non seafood lovers. The menu looked nice with a good selection for everyone. First issue was my son wanted a margherita pizza but they had run out of pizza bases so went for the child’s sausages. My husband had the steak at £27 and I went for the sea bream. In summary very disappointing. The sea bream was quite bland and lacked the lemon and coriander flavour it was supposed to have. The baby potatoes were clearly microwaved. My husbands steak looked terrible when it came out and the chips on both my sons and husbands meals were burnt. The meal came to £71 with the service charge they had automatically added. I don’t mind paying quite a bit when the food is good but it was so terrible and not worth anywhere near what was being charged.

I travel 15 miles to buy my Fish and Chips from Mother Kelly’s avoiding several other shops that are nearer and cheaper purely because it used to be really good. However, no one minds prices going up, it’s the economy we’re all in now, but the bag you see is Mother Kelly’s new large chips ( it used to be a box now it’s 3/4 of a scoop. Barely enough to feed my cat! ), the 2 large cod were jammed in one box so when I got them back they’re all broken, no offer of salt and vinegar and all served by a New member of staff who didn’t have a clue what he was doing. Surely there are better ways of making Cut Backs! I won’t be buying from Mother Kelly’s again, but thank you for the service I’ve had over the last 15 years

Unexpected trip to the Chip Shed in desperation after our pre planned restaurant meal for 7 failed to serve any food after nearly three hours of waiting. What a saviour the chip shed was, charming staff, promptly served meals despite the inevitable deliverroo type interruptions. Food was excellent especially the very generous sized fish and a special mention for the chicken nuggets which were exceptional. We didn't sit in but I noticed that they do Hawkstone lager on draught! They won't let you down. Top chippy.

Visited on a Sunday evening, really relaxed service, no rushing but still attentive. Great with our 2 children. All the food we had was really great, no complaints from any of us. We had mains & puddings. The building is lovely. Would definitely return.

Our 3rd visit in 3 years was last week and it was the best yet! We'd been twice before when staying close by in Whitby and loved it so much we made it a 3rd time despite staying an hour away in Helmsley. I had the dressed crab and my husband had the fish and chips and my crab was absolutely the best I've ever had and the best meal we've had there. Creamy, tasty, so well prepared that not the merest fragment of shell was in it and he loved his fish. Excellent warm and friendly welcome and service. Top marks all round. We'll be back!

Went in for a snack on a lovely day out, felt that £4.95 was a bit expensive for a portion of cheesy chips, we chose to sit in and had to get our own food from the counter when it was ready, it was served in a cardboard container and we had to eat it with a wooden fork. When we finished we left them tidy on the table and said thankyou to be called back and told can we take our rubbish with us please, customer service is a disgrace, never been told to take away our rubbish when eating in somewhere, to say we will never be going back is and understatement

The tea rooms are in a stunning location and make a great destination for a walk. We walked up from the car park in Lynmouth, it's a about 2 miles along the path. The walk was lovely along side the river which is a fast flowing stream. The path is challenging in places and a little rugid. But having a great destination drives you on. Great staff and good food. One highlight was seeing a Dipper (a small rare bird).
