Had the gluten free plaice and chips which was great

I was pleased the fishnet took over this premises and have enjoyed good service, price and food esp. The chicken doner in bun with generous serving. However, I ordered that and sausage and chips today. Thinking it would be a while for the donor to prepared, I said I would be next door for a swift pint. Back in 10 mins. It was very busy but being patient I think I saw my donor in the hot plate and after 5 mins I got asked what else I ordered. Sausage and chips. Got it went home only to find no sausage! 😢 I was fuming as I don't live far away but please make the order up and leave in the hot plate next time as you owe me a large sausage! Cheers

Friendly service good selection of food also a great gluten free selection

First visit and had fish chips and mushy peas. Very good and enjoyable. Shop was clean and will try the restaurant next time.

The food I could not fault, however the customer service needs improvement. Not a single member of staff asked if we wanted to eat in or takeaway. We received our food and proceeded to the seating area to eat. During our meal we were approached by a member of staff who loudly stated that it is unfair that we are eating inside as we had not paid the fee which was not made apparent to ourselves. We promptly and politely asked if we could pay the fee to eat inside but we were refused by the staff member and asked to leave. A very strange outcome and clearly the business needs to get their act together and improve the customer experience, I hope they take this on board.

The fish and chips were avrage however the service was appalling.

Fabulous fish and chips as always would highly recomend the Kingfisher my friend had fish and chips i had chicken and mushroom pie and chips did not disapoint

Wow what a brilliant take away. The scampi is the very best I have ever tasted in my life. It would not go amiss in a 4 star restaurant. Wish I lived closer. Enjoy Tewkesbury.

Very disappointed, this place use to be great. The fish was dry as anything as it had been hot held to long (5pm and not even freshly cooked). Microwaved curry sauce and very greasy chips. No wounder your cash only now

We had popped over to Tewkesbury for a visit to the garden centre nearby and my husband remembered this fish and chip shop’s location for a bite to eat, from the last visit. We each had the most beautiful fish and chips eating them in our car, as the restaurant closes at 2pm. They were extremely fresh and piping hot. The fish was utterly delicious and chips perfectly cooked. We have been let down locally by our own chippy in my city at home because they’ve cut corners and changed oil/recipe so not enjoyable. I wish this chippy was closer as we would buy from them every week as a treat.

Terrible. Used to be good now service is poor. Food is incredibly overpriced. I will now avoid. Having lived in the area for 18 years I have visited many times it's at its lowest standard.

Agent almost £30 of a takeaway for the family, for it home and it was inedible. There was a jumbo sausage that was so undercooked I didn't even offer it to my dog. After phoning I was assured the manager would call me the next day to arrange a refund. No call. I called back myself and again told a manager would call me. No call. We’d have had a better meal taking frozen chips, fish fingers and sausage out of the freezer and eating them like that! Disgusting food and even worse management The place should be shut down by trading standards

After seeing good reviews, myself and my husband decided to give Kingfisher fish and chip shop a try. However, we were deeply disappointed, in fact I'd go as far as to say this was the worst fish and chips we gave ever had, the batter was rock hard and the fish inside was way over cooked, we threw most of it to the pigeons and seagulls and even the pigeons left it. We would never go here ever again. Had to give a 1 star but it wasn't even worthy of that.

What's the point of having an online ordering service which, after you order says pick up in 30 minutes but when you arrive you have to queue for a further 20 minutes. Total waste of time.

With the cost of things going up and up you expect to pay a bit more nowadays but £2.95 for a regular chips which was tiny, more like a cone of chips (£2.85 for a chip butty says it all), too expensive for a portion which leaves you still hungry! I won't be coming here again!

Generally the Fish and Chips are very good, the best in the area by far. |Sometimes too busy with phone orders which means waiting times can be anything up to 25 mins when in the shop as phone orders seem to be given priority.

Whilst visiting Tewkesbury, we chose to have fish & chips from this recommended establishment. We were not disappointed. The fish was lovely pieces of cod, with crispy batter & generous portion of chips. If we were staying, we would certainly revisit.

You would of received 5 stars if the plates were warm. Think about.

Absolutely awful! Last couple of meals from here have been a little sub par, but this one was truly dreadful. I ordered 2 fish, and chips, but recieved and was charged for fish and chips twice. Bought food at 5:05 just after they opened, so it should have been as fresh as fresh, the chips were dry and hard, although the fish was tasty the batter was very greasy. Overall terrible, its cheaper and better food down the pub!!! I have indigestion already and started feeling sick, it has DEFINITELY cured me of popping round the corner to the kingfisher for fish and chips.

Cannot understand how this establishment gets a high rating 8 of us went in today sat 18th Feb at 11-45 to sit down for our dinner but to be told sorry cannot serve you our other member of staff dont start till 1pm what business opens at 11-45 with no staff poor won't trh this place again

Their signs say they're open until 9 but they may as well shut at 8.30. I don't advise going in after 8, KFC or Domino's would be a better bet.

As always, it was an excellent experience. Clean restaurant, quality service, and superb food. Took my mum for her first experience, and she was extremely impressed (which is not easy to do)

Went in early on a Saturday evening. It wasn’t too busy. I was told it would be a 4 minute wait and it turned into a 20 minute wait. After 15 minutes I was told they didn’t have what I’d ordered for my 3 year old daughter so had to choose something else. Even though I’d paid for it as a kids meal they forgot to give her any chips, the toy (that is clearly advertised on their menu) and very nearly forgot the drink. I also ordered something from the festive menu and they forgot the sauce that was supposed to come with it. Various other people were also having issues including one person who had ordered online only to turn up to find out they hadn’t even started cooking it. Either avoid the Kingfisher or visit on a weekday that is as slow as the people who work there.

We buy your fish and chips on a regular basis and generally the food is really good. However, on this occasion the batter on the fish was soggy, thick and soft not anything like the usual thin crisp batter that we are use to. It was very disappointing. Hopefully next time it will be better.

Ordered chips, popcorn chicken, and cheesy chips. Got home and realised they misheard the order and didn't get the regular chips. Chicken was overcooked, the cheesy chips undercooked. Might try again one day but not for a while as wasn't impressed, although will give them a second chance one day I think.

The fish and batter were fantastic but the chips let it down badly, they were soggy and greasy, such a shame.

I just had 1 fish and 1 fish and chips literally 35 minutes ago. Before I went to this chip shop I did read the reviews some alright and some not so good, anyway I thought I will give it the benefit of the doubt. Well what a disgrace the fish was disgusting and the chips where not much better, I also ordered nachos and got a blunt reply by two young girls they don’t do them, I explained there on your website to that they said no they were not, I could see there attitude stunk just young kids with no good customer service, I then opened my phone and showed them they were plainly advertised to which I was told O that’s someone else’s, they didn’t have a clue and it was quite frankly not worth the hassle saying much more to them I certainly won’t go there again,,,,,, I have screenshots of the nachos on there menu and on there photos they actually have them on there table in the restaurant,,,,, But thank goodness you didn’t have the nachos if they would have been anything like your fish n chips you saved me money 🤣🤣🤣😂🤣😂🤣I would add the screenshot here but I obviously can’t but I have added it to your photos, anyone reading this please don’t waste your money even the seagulls rejected these 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣

Been here for many years always superb, but last week unedible!!! Two fish and chips two curry sauce , the fish was cold slimy and undercooked, the batter not cooked gooey , and both sauces cold , fed it all to the ducks , so disappointed will not come back again , this is a monthly treat for us , and no longer a cheap takeaway, what has happened!!!!!

The kingerfisher cafe is good and the atmosphere is cozy and relax on time. But staff are slow to service as not bad. They are friendly!

I visited this take away whilst on holiday over the Easter break, ordered 2 children's meals (£4.75 each), a cod and chips and a large curry sauce. With the children's drinks I asked if I could swap the horrible drink cups offered for bottles of water. The young lad, Blake, who served me asked someone and then came back to me with 2 bottles of water. After a long day, long queue in the take away I was tired and hungry. Blake didn't tell me how much my bill was and I just offered my card, paid and left so I could get the kids and myself fed. When I got back to where I was staying rhe children were disappointed by the fact there was the smallest amount of chips with their side so they had some of mine. Later that evening I checked my bank and realised I'd been charged £23.10!!!! My parents, who we were away with, had ordered 2 cod and chips with a small curry which came to £18 which is about what I expected my bill to be. I immediately contacted the shop via Facebook to basically be told I'd got what I'd asked for and that was the price!!! I was told I'd ordered a LARGE cod and LARGE chips which bumped the price up an EXTRA £5 to my parents bill. The customer service qas just awful, it was all my fault for not hearing that asking for bottles of water added an EXTRA 75p onto my bill, it was MY fault that Blake had charged me for a large cod and large chips....there was nothing any different to my meal than there was to my parents, infact their fish was much nicer, mine was just dry and greasy. I will NEVER visit this chip shop again and unless you have super powers with your hearing, to hear the unsaid, then I'd urge you to so the same. This experience ruined the end of our holiday!!!!! Oh and just to add, I have now been blocked from their Facebook page, all because I queried my bill with them!!!!!!!!!!

Staying nearby and the little lad wanted fish and chips. This place was recommended to us by a local bloke we got talking to earlier in the day. Bit of a queue when we arrived, which is a good sign, however the service was quick so we didn't have to wait long. Food was excellent; the only downside was that we wanted 2 large cod and they only had 1, so had to have a regular. Would definitely return if in the area again.

I like to come and get my fish and chips in Tewkesbury from Kingfisher. Very generous portions and delicious fish - a bit on the salty side but that’s what you’d want in a chippy. Nice place although I’ve never eaten in but always had it as take out. Everyone working here is friendly and very attentive.

So friendly and brilliant customer service - we come from Cheltenham to buy their chips as they're so good!

Really gone down hill lately,portions are rediculously small,I had a REGULAR cod and it was 6 inches long x 2inches wide INCLUDING THE BATTER. Cod roe in batter was only a few millimetres thick,TAKE THE BATTER OFF & NOTHING LEFT !!!!

Crisp chips, huge cod and great selection of other sundries. The que outside of this establishment tells you all you need to know about the quality of fish and chips that you can get from this place.

Very nice fish and chips, the best in Tewkesbury in mine, and my wife's opinion. After work, we bypass the other two fish shops in the town and head here, arriving about 4.45. There's already a bit of a queue that I join. When I eventually get in the shop theres no chips or fish left, and I am told they are being cooked. For us, thats not on, or to the lady stood in front of me who was fuming. You ve just opened to the public stood outside, and you've got insufficient produce prepared and cooked, and one person serving. My family had two fish and chip shops for decades. Every potatoe was was de eyed and checked after chipping, no blemishes on the chips. At opening time plenty of fish and chips were cooked for people to take home a quick meal. The only people who ever waited were waiting for speciality items to be cooked, everyone else was in and out quick. This was very poor service, the same as the other two chip shops. Such a shame. Nice fish and chips but not worth a long wait.

First time using this eatery ordered 2 haddock and chips... Fish was chunky and tasty not overcooked in thick greasy batter superb, the chips were great. I did have to wait a while for my order due to staff busy with takeaway orders and restaurant but the food was worth waiting for.... Will definitely be back

We went to Kingfisher restaurant on the first day that restaurants were open. All Covid precautions were taken - temperature checks, track and trace completed and sanitizer available. Everything was exceptionally clean and the service was excellent. The fish and chips were beautiful, light batter and not at all greasy. We will return when back in Tewkesbury.

Just down the Quay from Wharf House where we stayed, we had take-away cod and chips from here on our first night. Beautiful fresh battered cod and more chips than we could manage.So good that we treated ourselves again later in the week, but with fewer chips.

The other half has been on about fish and chips all week so I gave in and decided Friday night it was. Too tired to drive anywhere I went online to see if kingfisher were delivering.... bingo!!!!! Two fish, chip and curry sauce ordered online. Email to confirm 30 mins. Phone call 20 mins later, “ I’m outside” so collected a well wrapped delivery service. Opened it all, huge fish and chips and warm as if straight from the fryer. Just started eating.... they forgot her Vimto. The service and food was so good I couldn’t be bothered to complain...... a short while later... outside light came on and the most helpful delivery lady returned with the drink. If all that isn’t great service I don’t know what is.... Hope you do so well during this time..... and if you are thinking about trying it... don’t think too long... just order!!!!!Well done
