Great fish and chips from a friendly staff

Had small chips n sausage. Chips cold n soggy . Sausage lukewarm and very greasy Didn't enjoy one bit but was hungry so had to eat it Not worth the £5

Was in a rush yesterday but after checking my bank I have seen they took £9.60 for an £8.40 order. My fault for not checking.

Just popped in for a meal for 2 fish & chips.The quality was very good.The 2 young lads wkg were friendly but need a lot more experience.

Phoned to complain about the chips, they apologised and agreed with me, they knowingly selling chips that are awful, chewy & hard, spoilt my appetite, will never go back again!

I forgot how bad these were last time I tried the fish and chips ( about 2 years ago) and they haven’t got any better! Chips a bit manky, lots of eyes and black bits of potato, some undercooked, none tasty or crispy, fish ok, mushy peas rubbish. Won’t be going again ☹️

I normally order large fish and large chips which is usually pretty good. Last night the fish was smaller, the batter was burnt, and it was just about warm when delivered. Very disappointing.

Other than the fact its local and the staff are OK, I don't know why I bother going back to this place. The batter on fish/sausages is always absolutely dripping with grease. The mushy peas are vile (tried theirs once- never again!)....and £1 for a pickled egg....seriously?? There are much better places if you can travel a bit, like the Woodstone Chippy.

Awful. Tried it 6 months ago with fish and chips. Didn’t like it. Tried to give them the benefit of doubt and again terrible. Chips hard and mangy with majority still having peel on them. £2 for about 20 chips.

Best chip shop Iv found in Peterborough without a doubt. They are so nice, my young son loves it in there. I ask about the different dishes and they always deliver on their promise. Have been to Fishtastic many times, over many years, I actually drive past another fish ‘n chip shop to get to Fishtastic. Not anymore. Placed an order online for collection, order accepted 17:23 order to be collected at 17:33 is what the Fishtastic website stated. I arrived at 17:34 the order wasn’t ready (this is never a problem for me, I’m happy to wait), assistant asked the chap frying the fish where my order was, his response to her was: ‘Can’t these people read the collection time’? So I waited. Several people came in the shop, ordered and were served straight away. And still I waited. My order was nothing out of the ordinary, everything I ordered was there on show. And still I waited. Then an order was bagged up and put on top of the fryer, I presumed this was for someone else. I still waited. Then the penny dropped with the assistants, the order on top of the fryer was mine. When I got home the food was nowhere near as piping hot as it usually is and had to be reheated half way through eating the meal. The fish was ok, a bit oily, but ok, the chips however were hard and not thoroughly cooked in my opinion. Scraps missing, curry sauce upside down in the bag and running out. My receipt on the bag stated - Order accepted at 17:23 fulfilment at 17:33 I guess I can read.

Ordered large sausage and chips nice portion size But chips not Cooked properly sausage soft batter tastes like it's been sat on a tray for a bit not nice Shame that one shop can be totally different to stanground which was ok last time had some but if this is the standard for all there shops then won't be rushing back....

Poor service as normal stood waiting to be served and as normal you get ignored. After waiting 10 min they serve a customer who just walked in the door. Rude with no apologie and carried on servings the person who just walked in.

Ordered twice in a week all the way to Werrington. Great food and brilliant presentation.

Normally, my partner and I think this fish and chip shop is excellent quality. However, yesterday evening after going for a swim, we fancied chip butties as a supper. Bought a large and regular chips as my partner was very hungry. Chips were hugely disappointing. Massively oversized chips with dark dirty looking bits, like potato eyes and bruises. Chips were very dry and not very warm. Not a patch on your usual chips Fishtatic! Chips ended up in the bin with only about 10 chips eaten between us. You can do much better, not sure why it was so poor yesterday

I've been going here for several years as it's a stones throw away from work. The consistency and quality is second to none. The staff are friendly and professional. I've happily recommended Fishtastic to friends and family who have driven 30+ miles and been grateful for the recommendation. I don't get all the hype of fish & chips at the seaside which are usually greasy and precooked at best. If you want fast food then go somewhere else. If you're prepared to wait 5 minutes for some of the best fish & chips you'll have, then give this place a go. Lots of options on the menu, and they're always trying new things. A fantastically clean and modern fish & chip shop.

Service is good but last choice for a meal as chips fine but fish always comes with that much grease you could cook another 10 pieces of fish in it. Course just my preference and foxes do like the grease poured over the bread we put out.

Avoid at all costs if ordering online. Took 2 hours to arrive and phone was engaged constantly so couldn't even ask what was happening or complain when the inedible stone cold food arrived. A massive disappointment as previously I would have recommended them. Fantastic - if you are really busy don't take online orders. Our money is exactly the same as those who come to the shop so why give rubbish service to us. Never again.

Not the best but not the worst. I think its the price of things, Nearly 50p or more on every item compared to my old local. I think I'll take the drive next time.

Food was stone cold and items were missing. 4 minutes in the microwave didn't get it to temperature. I phoned to complain but apparently I need to speak to the manager. Still waiting for a call back. I have used numerous times before but after tonight never again. Avoid at all costs.

Order fish and chips and other things from here. And within 20 mins the food arrived piping hot and very delicious. Would recommend to everyone best fish and chip shop in Peterborough. We love Martyn

We used to love getting chips from here. We don't go near the place now, the chips are hit and miss. Sometimes we have not even fished them they have been that bad. The fish is always soggy. It’s a real shame as it used to be a great chippy but over the last two years it’s just not the same. I know a number of people who have also stopped going here.

Family Meal is fantastic value. Really easy and good to use the online ordering system I love that have the option to grill the fish without batter and sell salad boxes. Only negative is the amount of packaging used

Superb fish and chips. Nice and spicy curry sauce. Excellent batter on the fish and really nice chips. Homemade tartare sauce is amazing! Definitely recommended. Staff welcoming and efficient even though i came really late.

Expensive and not especially nice. Disappointing. Use of palm oil means fish batter was not crispy. Won’t be going back even though close by.

Top quality, fast service and sensible pricing - what more could you ask for? Visited on a Friday night as a rare treat for my girlfriend and I, and as good as ever. Recommended to all, whether you're looking for good ol' cod and chips or something different.

Fish was standard and chips where old and hard as if they were from the bottom of the pan. Fairly overpriced as well, doubt I'll buy again, I don't reccomend.

Disgusting fish wasn't cooked and was mostly batter like a sausage. I took a bit and fish wasn't cooked and stuck to my teeth with all the fat. I phoned twice to complain an no one came back to me. Poor food and poor customer service!!

Last time we had fish and chips here they were terrible. Tonight our oven wasn't working so my wife said we'd have to have fish and chips for dinner. The other local chip shop was closed as it's a Monday. I have to say tonight they were awful. Possibly the worst I've ever eaten. A complete waste of money. I've only given them 1star as there is not an option for none. Definitely won't use them again. Lukewarm chips that were hard , fortunately knowing their fish is poor I had a pie, this turned out to be soggy. Once again a waste of money.

The food is great but today I wanted a pot of curry sauce because it's so nice but got home and the whole pot was in the bottom of the bag very up set

This is our chippy of choice in Peterborough. Cooked fresh, scraps (aka batter bits) are available too. Truly delicious, the fish has always been cooked to perfection in our experience - batter is crispy but not dry. Chips are also cooked just right - with no horrible hard bits resulting from reheating. We enjoy one of the meal deals - we get a cod & chips - which comes with a selection of sides. We recommended the curry sauce for the latter. The portion size is just right. We always look forward to fish & chips from Fishtastc. Our food never feels full of 'stodge'. In fact, the lack of grease is evidenced by the fact we can put the cardboard box it is served in, in the recycling bin. The shop also boasts friendly staff, who greet you when you enter & who say please & thank you.
