Often has queues which shows how popular this place is! The best chips we've had in Barry and everything else is really tasty as well. Prices are very reasonable, and the staff are so friendly. CASH only though, but there is a cashpoint a couple of doors down.

The cod and chips are huge even when we share it between the two of us.

Great chippy with a cockney/Welsh charm & service. Cod has bangin' criapy light batter, and they're more than generous with their chips. You would have to travel a long way to find anything better than this absolute gem. A+++++

Former Barry Lad visiting family…normal go too is Irenes and/or Harvey’s. Having had SubPar quality in recent visits…we branched out. What A Jewel this is ….we did Fish and Chips all round…huge portion of chips and super tasty cod and perfect batter…. 10/10

Freshly cooked cod to die for, light crisp batter and tasty flakey cod, usually by the mini cod meal deal that comes with chips and a small tub of either curry, peas or gravy, also try their kebab in a nan bread, it's out of this world and more than enough to share. Barry's catch is by far the best fish and chip shop in the vale of Glamorgan.

Placed an order for delivery as was working on a site and no knowledge of the area. Had a call five mins before food was due as the driver couldn’t find the site and unfortunately I couldn’t help. Long story short, he arrived about ten mins later, extremely apologetic for being late. Food was still piping hot and delicious. I’d ordered a standard size chips, there was enough to feed a family!! Chicken was cooked perfectly and the gravy was the best chippy gravy I’ve ever had and mushy peas to die for. Would 110% order from Barry’s again. Thank you guys for a great meal and service, much appreciated! Pics do not do it justice to the quantity.

Tried this place for the first time about 2 months ago the ago and haven’t used another local chippy since. Food is always lovely, and portions and prices are great value too. Fish is cooked to order so you may have to wait a few minutes, though staff usually ask you as you arrive if you want fish, so they can it ready for you as soon as they can And a thumbs up to the staff too who are always friendly and polite

Quite a long wait, which I anticipated because the fish had to be cooked on request. However, it was also very busy with deliveries which I hadn't anticipated! I'll know better for next time - I'm definitely going back!

Very large portions of quality fish & chips

Both times me and my partner have been here we have loved our food, really good portion size we never feel like we need more food after, staff are always friendly and welcoming and prices are good aswell, shame it not our local or we would be in all the time.

Visited Barry's Catch for the first time. Very impressed with the fish and chips we had. After reading some reviews we decided to have one portion to share and we still failed to eat it all. Fish cooked to order, chips were fresh. Could taste and see that the oil was clean. Will definitely go back as it was well worth the drive from Porthkerry.

The food is not as good quality as I've had elsewhere, but it's cheap and has very good sized portions. It's worth it for the price.

Excellent service and lovely fish and chips. We rang up and asked for 34 fish and chips expecting them to say that’s to many but they took the order and when we arrived to collect everything was ready for us, amazing service and really nice staff. The whole work crew enjoyed their food and we will definitely return again. Thanks.

Wow. Best Fish and Chips in Barry. You wont believe the size of the cod for the very generous price either. I thought i bought a whale lol. The batter was lush and the chips was also perfectly done.

Fish & Chips and Southern Fried Chicken was delicious. Delivered hot and steaming. Ordered food through the App which said delivery 55 minutes but arrived after 25. Great food and delivery 👌.

Best fish and chips I’ve had- chips were amazing and fish was very nice and crispy. Lovely customer service. Lots of parking around the chip shop which is based on the corner. It was cash only when I went in but there’s a post office a few shops down with a cash point. Highly recommend 😊

We lived in Barry a few years ago and this was always my favourite chip shop. Visited last night and glad to say it’s just as good as it always was. We ordered online for collection and the food was piping hot and fresh and bang on time. Great value for money too, especially with very reasonably priced fish. Staff were putting in a shift as it was extremely busy when we collected, fair play to them.

Have ordered from this take away a few times and tried different items from the menu. Always hot, crispy and tasty: large pieces of fish, soft chicken in spicy batter, chicken pie with a flakey and crisp crust, good sausages in crispy batter (not soggy!) And most importantly, proper thick chips! Staff have always been friendly and service is made as quick as possible. Highly recommended.

Have used this chippy for years. Food always cooked well and like it that you can order online. Always used to be good portion sizes, However went yesterday and was VERY disappointed. Prices have increased... understandable in current climate but the container the meal was in had shrunk as had the portion of chips which was really small. Used to be a lovely lady who gave great meals ...My son was still hungry after his meal. Really poor value!

By far the worst chippy iv had in barry, greasy, uncooked chips in way too old fat, a sausage that was burst open n curry sauce i could taste the powder in. Just check on trip advisor

Every time I go to Barrys Catch, I always have a pleasant experience. The staff is always friendly and helpful, quickly making each order and handling an often very busy queue with ease. Depending on the time you go, it can either be very crowded, or delightfully quiet. Regardless of the atmosphere, the food itself is, in my humble opinion, second to none. I've not yet had a bad experience with any item ordered, and look forward to continue being a customer in the years to come.

I have used this chip shop many times and like being able to order online and pick up. Reasonable prices and always well cooked with great service. We use their meals in a tray a lot as they are such good value.

Good food friendly staff easy on rd parking

I spent 15 minutes in this shop this evening waiting to be served! After which the one person sort of serving completely ignored me and started serving a woman behind me!!!, The ignorant bint didn't bat an eyelid and proceeded to place her order!!!!. Realizing that this establishment didn't need my patronage I took my custom elsewhere!👍. Oh, on the way out I noticed the shops official food hygiene rating...... 3 , nuff said!!.
