Great food every time, decent portion sizes, and they accept card payments unlike several other chippies in the area.

Fish very fishy, very salty and batter too thick in some places and pasty in other. Nothing cooked fresh, you have what they have available.

Perhaps it should be renamed as Awful taste-Days. The most awful tasting chips I have ever experienced. Very poor.Just glad I did not have fish as well!!

Will not be ordering from here again after taking a mouth full of chicken, felt sharp scratch in my mouth when I bit down. Spat it out to find a piece of metal!!!

Been going there for years and it just keeps getting better!

User delivery was fast and on time but the chip were re heated problerly from lunch yet cold inside and instead of 2 exlarge cods we had one and a half small each giving more better than fish again reheated from lunchtime. Have had take away before always good but I won't do that again at £40 Unhappy.

A regular customer always good. But Sunday 3rd the fish and chips were really terrible. Over cooked fish was dry and chip were hard and very dark color. Did not enjoy them at all a waste of money.

Card machine wasn't working, chips were over cooked, sausage was over cooked, bread roll was dry and horrible, I actually threw most of it in the bin, will never ever be returning.

Chips are always hard and over cooked other than that perfect, I will try them again as I would like to give 5 stars

I really enjoyed the fresh food and crispy batter on my cod. Chips as they should be from the Chippy with an assortment of sauces, pickles etc. Definitely worth another visit.

Meredith Road: Usually good but sometimes hit and miss. This week staffing changes, no women. Fish tasted bad, not fresh and batter soggy, chips cold and so I will never go back!! Norwich road is fab so can't give one star.

I'm not sure they'll see this and I didn't take their name. But I'm leaving this review to thank a really nice member of staff who took my call this evening and sorted out my order which had an item missing. Thank you so so much. You didn't have to help, you could've sent me back to the uber app. But you didn't, so thank you, you were so lovely. (My grandad really enjoyed the fish)

I visit about once a week and it is always great food served by very friendly staff in a nice clean environment. One thing to note is that they only take cash but there is an ATM just 50 yards up the road at the Tesco Express! ** UPDATE 2022: They have a card machine now so can take card payments! ** Call your booking ahead on Fridays and Saturdays as they do get busy.

My go-to local chippy. Fish and chips always well cooked and counter staff very pleasant. Quite large portions of chips compared to other chippies. Order with confidence.

We waited a long time to be served, I didn’t get the gerkin I paid for in my bag (as I asked the lady if she had put it in 🤬because nobody touched the jar!! )…and sick just after eating my cod…never again

have been there 3 times before and found the food moderate if overpriced last night , the chips where like cardboard and tastless the fish was abysmal at best and the burger was just to hard to cut or bite .and the lady who served me was sharp to the point of rude i will never set foot in the place again

I come here pretty much every week for different selections of foods. The food is always amazing! The Cod is to die for! And you cannot go wrong with the battered sausage and chips with loads of salt and vinegar! Oh yeah I’ve forgotten the southern fried chicken is the tasty chicken I’ve ever tasted! Much juicer and fresher than KFC! 😋😋

Good fish and chip shop, good size portions.

Been hear a few times , fish and chip shops have become very expensive. Some of the staff are friendly & some are like they are chewing a wasp. Orders have been wrong a few times ,once back home , and when there told , all they say is sorry , not too worried about messing ur meal up. Prices that are charged, should be better service . Saying that chips have got better lately and potato wedges are sooo nice . But don’t get a lot of fish for what they charge you. You’re get more fish on a fish finger .

Had a portion of chips this lunchtime. They were abysmal. They were definately refried old chips. Many inedible. Would not recommend

We just had fish and chips for our staff lunch and it did not disappoint! Batter was nice and crispy and the fish was fresh and piping hot. Friendly staff and always happy to help. What more could you want?

Can not fault the amazing fish and chips 😍 cooked to order , fresh and a real treat . However , a friendly smile from the staff .... would not go amiss ! Especially at the moment in these times . Just an observation. So 1 star down .

We thought we would try fish & chips from this outlet as we have never used it before, although it is probably one of the nearest fish & chip shops to us. We decided to have fish & chips for Saturday lunch, as during the lockdown we could not go into town for lunch as we would normally. We were surprised by the quality and taste of the fish, no skin or bone and the largest portion of chips you could wish for. The lady serving very kindly explained how they prepared the fish which made it so tasty. If you have any questions whatsoever, just ask. They know their product and want you to enjoy the best available fish & chips. The standard was so good we decided to try once again the following week. Again the standard of the fish & chips was excellent with plenty of cod in their 'medium' portion. On this occasion we had to wait a few minutes whilst they cooked the cod for us; no problem as we knew that it was fresh and hot and had not been sitting around for some time as often happens at other fish shops. We have decided that whilst we are in lockdown we will return each Saturday for lunch and when we are out of lockdown and in more 'normal' times we will continue to use this shop, but on a Thursday evening.

For me the best chips ever, large portions which means a large portion has plenty for two people.

Me and my husband have just had cod and chips from Fry-days and it was so tasty and fresh . Large portions and the batter was exceptional And great quick service . Absolutely the best in town !

Quality seems to have gone down recently.

Been past here many times and it has always looked busy and got the chance to try it recently and it was lovely. The batter was really light and crispy and the chips spot on. The only problem is the parking at this place if you have to drive.

Fresh food cooked while you wait

Fri-days was very clean. Friendly service. The fish was smaller then other shops but no skin to worry about. Chips were nearly cold and slightly overdone.

Went to Fry Days for the first time today and it will be the last, the chips were very dry, I couldn't eat over half of them, the fish was ok but it was salty, I don't know how that could be, it wasn't cheap either.

We usually go to DNS in Bramford Road, they are closed for a while so tried this one. They had it all ready so not cooked to order. It was more expensive and no way as good as DNS. The fish was smaller and dryer and tasted greasy and salty. The chips seemed like they were reheated. Lots of chips we couldn't eat. Dry and hard chips mostly. Not impressed at all and will not return.

Horrible had it early in the week and wasn't impressed my Mrs convinced me to try again tonight and was even worse chips stale and cold my fish was soggy and dripping in oil battered sausage also cold and bit into it and got a mouth full of oil. Will not be going back and strongly recommend that people go to the outher shop. Garrick way

I have been hankering after a good fish and chip shop in Norwich since I moved. Sadly lacking - the Thorpe one is fab but all the others paled into insignificant after that .... until I tried here. They are really very good - lovely batter - no burnt, soggy chips. I will rate it very good as I am from the Lowestoft area - fresh fish off the boats and all that so will keep trying for the 'excellent' mark in Norwich.

Really lovely chip shop. I've been going here for my chips for years. Even now, when I live at the other side of town, I still, would rather drive the distance to go here instead of somewhere closer to home.

I used to live near here, it was convenient to go, but one woman in particular is really nosy and talks about people behind their backs, so I stopped going

Freshly cooked fish and chip's..I go once a week.

Meduim cod was very thin....not alot of flesh and batter was a little chewy. Mega burger was not very mega but tasted nice. Large chips was enough to feed 3 audults :)

Disapponting chops and small fsh

I enjoy going here, it might be slightly more expensive than chip shops closer to home, but I consider it worth it the drive as the cod fillets often are bone free.
