The stand out from our experience this evening was the service. Polite, knowledgeable and helpful he made good recommendations and made us feel very welcome.

good fish and chips restaurant. very friendly waiter, I found the prices reasonable. Fries/chips were good/ok, I found the fish very tasty, the pea puree was fine. The tables aren't completely clean, but I don't think that's a bad thing. It's really nice to sit outside with a view of Dover Beach.

Great service from Jack M. We had breakfast and a bap. Well presented, well cooked. So, congratulations to the kitchen team. Overall, the place was lovely and clean. Tables, condiments, etc. clean. We had a window table. There was a bit of dirt and a dead fly on the window frame. One for the housekeeping team to sort out. Positive and will definitely come back. The coffee was good and the cakes look fab.

Gelreat fish and chip shop on Dover sea front. We had takeaway and thwy provided plenty of condiments. The fish was very hot and just dissolved in my mouth, fantastic. The chips were also delicious, would definitely visit again.

Whilst in Dover, I had heard that Wheeler’s had really good fish and chips. I was not disappointed. The fish was fresh and delicious, and the chips were crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. I am not a fan of mushy peas, so I left them, but the tartare sauce was lovely too. All the necessary accompaniments were in the bag with the fish and chips… vinegar, mayo, salt and pepper, tomato sauce, napkins and cutlery. I could mot have asked for more.

Gluten Free fish and chips was fantastic. Really friendly service and great portion size. A real treat as we were passing through.

I've had various fish and chips around England and this is my favourite. The plating is very nice, with the sauce in the shell. The place is very quiet and has tables both outside and inside. They also offer Starbucks coffee if you're interested. Highly recommended.

Took my husband this time. Got take away chips and fish goujons, sat on the seafront. By the time we,d found a seat and settled the food was still hot. Wonderful. Got served by the lads this time. They are just as competent. Very polite and helpful. It is spotless inside. They do great coffees aswell. When you say large, it is truly large.

The food was delicious! However we did wait for 25 mins for food to come at 6pm on a Tuesday, which felt a long time for takeaway food. Servers were lovely and apologetic. Would say the large portion size was a bit on the small side

We have been touring the British Isles for two weeks and this is one of the best traditional fish and chips off the entire trip. The Mac and cheese was delicious. Lauren and Jack M were the best servers; very attentive and and helpful.

Be prepared to wait ages! 30 mins after ordering finally arrived.. wasn’t told of a long wait time. it wasn’t even busy! Once we got the food, we were further disappointed by the size, one haddock wasnt much bigger than a large fish finger and wondered if we had been given a child’s portion! As for the chips, they tasted nice.. all 10 of them! Which in itself is a disgusting amount for the price paid! £36 for 2 haddock and ‘chips’ and 2 brownies. Over priced under portioned hidden behind a good name! Avoid this place like the plague!

Lovely meal of fish and chips. Service was excellent. Staff went far out their way to help us with a transportation glitch. Very appreciative for the unbelievable service. Food was very good as well.

I've just taken four clients to wheelers as my wife had stated positive things about a take away she'd had some time ago. My clients ordered simple food. Fish n chips twice and a portion of garlic prawns. It took the best part of an hour and multiple requests to get and finish the food. Even then the garlic prawns never arrived and my clients got a refund. It wasn't particularly busy just not organised. Mediocre food and poor service. I'd recommend food from a regular chippy and eating it on the beach. I won't be recommending wheelers to anyone or returning myself or with my clients.

Nice and clean place, but you can't get a table for more than 4 people. Especially if you're with kids. Stay away.

Took chips and some cake take away. They told us the portion would be big, it wasn't. They didn't put the cake in the box and didn't reply to my inquiries about it. If you're into overpriced tourist chips this is a fine place, but wouldn't recommend otherwise.

If you want chips cooked from frozen go to Iceland not this Marco bull s### very expensive frozen fish and chips and comes out cold with a rude service. The boy on the counter said "what are you waiting for"

Staff are lovely and friendly when serving ,especially when dealing with a problem . Nice surroundings Unfortunately, the toasted sandwich ,which was sent back twice, did not meet the standard I would have expected for £8.50! The cheese was not melted, and bread was still pale. The second one had butter inside, still visible, and cheese still solid. No refund was given at the time. I was informed it would be a few days, Taking into account xmas, it's now nearly 3 weeks ago.

I got a light bite here. Not bad, the fish and chips were with nothing wrong; the steak sandwiches were really filled with decent meat. Happy with the food and happy with the service, very helpful staff. It was a right choice for me to pick this restaurant.

Went for breakfast as seen how nice it was whilst just having a coffee. Ordered food and told about half an hour wait , that was fine . What followed was a joke , food finally came after about half an hour , no cutlery given , so had to ask for it , then no toast ,again had to go up and ask for it , it was then forgot about and burnt ..had to again ask for toast at the counter area, finally got toast after breakfast was eaten as did not fancy cold breakfast and hot toast . A suggestion ensure customers have cutlery and fresh toast and not having to keep asking for it !

I specifically went as I had seen advertised that they did GF fish and chips (which they do), however the quality of them left a lot to be desired. I did not expect to receive naff frozen chips with my meal in a MPW restaurant, they were absolutely rubbish chips and so dry, I’ve had better frozen chips from Tesco. The mushy peas were grey in n colour and totally tasteless, the fish was ok but nothing special. They brought us 2 teas but no milk or sugar for them or spoons, our meals came with no cutlery, even after bringing this to their attention we still had to ask another 2 different waiters before actually getting any cutlery, and all the while our food was sitting on the table getting cold, no sauce/vinegar etc was provided on the table again until we repeatedly asked for it. Tired and stained looking menus. Regular fish and chips, a burger and chips and 2 teas cost us £32! Unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend you waste your hard earned cash there. MPW I expected so much more from you!

We had drinks and a cake with friends. Which we enjoyed. Rated the atmosphere as a two due to the staff having personal discussions between them, lound enough for customers to be aware of. The use of extreme expletives by staff is most definitely what we did not appreciate hearing.

Popped in from the seafront to order some food, asked upon entry for a menu to see if there was sausage available as that's what my daughter fancied. We said ahh she wanted sausage so no bother and left.. as we were walking away a member of staff very rudely commented to his mate behind the till " it's only a sausage you prick!" . Safe to say we didn't appreciate the unnecessary unkindness from said staff member 😒

Ordered 2 calamari and fish and chips to take away I was advised to have the breaded fish when we got home there was 1 calamari my breaded fish was ridiculously small with 9 chips my partners was just about ok would never go back

Overpriced for what you get. Fish is not bad but the chips aren't great for the price you pay.

I was expecting a little more being Marco branded but I was a bit disappointed. The menus were coffee stained the table and want clean, the cutlery had water marks and the chairs definitely need updating. The food was nice and although the mushrooms were bland. Just as good as the food in Tesco cafe but more expensive.

Came here as one of the famous fish and chips in Dover area. The cod is really fresh to eat. Although it is quite small portion for a large order. Mushy peas were a bit disappointed. Didn’t taste the minty flavour or freshness of it. Fish cake you can see a bit hard over fried. Overall, interior of restaurant is beautiful and very cosy cooling.

Wheeler's is an incredibly delightful destination for a dining experience fused with relaxation. The establishment boasts an inviting outdoor area that offers a picturesque seascape to savor. Our children absolutely adore this spot, especially following our beach escapades in Dover. A hearty recommendation is in order for Wheeler's!

Awful , don’t waste your money , very small grey fish, greasy chips , weird mushy peas ! Just awful!

Low quality and overpriced! We visited Wheelers expecting good things however we were sadly mistaken. Two small fish and chips cost £23! The chips tasted like cheap supermarket oven chips and the fish was grey and sloppy. Served in tray with what they claim is mushy peas. The venue is also looking a little tired and there were cardboard boxes sitting around. It all felt a little unloved. My recommendation would be to avoid and find better elsewhere.

Tasty fresh fish and chips place !

I gave it 3 stars since I know there is always room for improvement. Food-wise, we ordered fish and chips. I ordered mine as small, but when it was served, it was the same size as the regular fish and chips. The taste was fine, a bit greasy, but still okay. The chips were good as well.

Disappointingly long wait for reasonable food. Looks like a nice independent place online but in fact is just part of the Best Western chain.

This place is incredible. In the worst possible way. We ordered a bottle of wine which took nearly 30 minutes not to appear, only to find that the bottle we’d paid for (in advance…) they “don’t know if they had”. We can’t comment on the food because we requested a refund and bailed before terrible became worse. Frankly, a little relieved because given the way that plates and tables were left to fester following the departure of other diners, I’m not confident I wouldn’t become ill after eating here. Mr. Pierre White, this isn’t even a funny joke.

The service was absolutely atrocious. There was only one person in the whole place taking orders, and he was doing his absolute best dealing with all the problems with the kitchen. The kitchen is shared with the hotel restaurant next doors. And they kept screwing up the orders. Half of our order never showed up. And other people's orders also never came. The poor guy by himself had to deal with all that with no management around. Kudos to the guy, and absolutely shame on the management!

Wow. Marco Pierre White’s name is above the door but I prefer to take the advice of my dad: never go in a chip shop that doesn’t have a queue. Unfortunately, this was the only place around so I broke my old man’s rule. And I regret it. £23 for takeaway fish & chips, chips, bread & butter. The bread was yesterday’s brown Warbutons. The chips were straight from the freezer bag and the fish was genuinely the smallest battered fish I’ve ever seen. I drove from land locked Leicestershire for a 20 minute wait for the worst fish and chips on the beach I’ve ever had… PS there’s a chippy down the hill from me in Oadby that does cracking fish n chips and always has a queue. Sorry, Dad, I didn’t listen. And Marco? Pay a visit to that place that has your name above the door. It’s an embarrassment.

First time having fish and chips here, sat outside and soaked up the music and atmosphere. Fairly priced and lovely crispy batter and chips. Staff friendly and approachable.

Absolutely dreadful food, with a price tag to sting. Barely any menu items, the chips were awful (literally no potato in them) and the place was covered in flies. The staff were not in any way responsive and needed constant prompting. Avoid this place at all costs and go find yourself a better place to eat

We waited along time to be served, and waited around an hour for breakfast, our tea and coffee arrived which we drank way before the breakfast came. When it eventually turned up we were missing the eggs, toast ect, so we told the girl there, we were made to feel like we had done something wrong, three times she was rude, we then waited another 30 mins for the breakfast to be bought back, this time items had been removed from our plates, sausages, hash browns. The breakfast was terrible, we left and within 30 mins both unwell… AVOID!!!!

We ordered breakfast, after an incredibly long wait, the breakfast arrived missing eggs, toast ect, we told them, the customer service was terrible, the young lady there was rude like we had done something wrong! and to top it off we were both unwell within 30 minutes of leaving! AVOID!!

Gluten free fish and chips was good

A week ago, I been here for a nice evening dinner. Ordered two fish and chips. Nothing special. After 1 hour of waiting, I decided to ask where is our fish. Maybe it run back to sea. I found out that they served our dinner to someone else. Wow 😲. Unbelievable. After another 15 minutes, they apologized for the mistake and decided to refund us and offering a free dinner. In 5 minutes we received our fish 🐟 which was old and cold ❄️, crust very hard. And guess. No refund of course. Never return there. Never. Worse dinner experience.

The only reason I didn't give 5 stars for the atmosphere is because of the renovations being done on the outside of the building. But, to be honest, everything else was brilliant. I want to particularly mention the staff. They were absolutely amazing!! I could not have asked for a friendlier bunch of young people who provided the perfect service when I took my elderly mother here for lunch. Always a favourite place for a fish and chip lunch.

It's a really good spot on the sea front, the food is superb, anyone who can poach eggs that well when it's busy is clearly a great chef. The coffee is great. The service was great and the staff were excellent.

We have been meaning to pop in here for a while now, eventually got around to it and we are so glad we did. It was quite busy when we arrived but the young lady serving, Courtney, working mostly alone kept our wait to a minimum and somehow managed to have a welcoming chat with us as she prepared our very delicious coffees. The coffees are a little over priced but we enjoyed sitting outside and watching the world go by. We'll be back. Thanks for the excellent customer focus, Courtney. We'll grab some Fish & Chips next time!

The service provided by Courtney and Jack is amazing and continues to impress me week in week out! 10/10 best service in Dover! Coffees are lovely too!

Ordered Fish and Chips for 3 We waited 45 mins and nothing arrived The waiter was lovely very apologetic Eventually very hungry with the rest of my family waiting for a meal in the neighbouring restaurant ( all being cooked out of the same kitchen) well all cancelled dinner as they were was no way any of us were getting fed. We stop by for coffee on most days whilst walking the dog. The coffee is always excellent and the staff are always friendly and helpful. Our server today was Revati, she makes the best coffee and Benson enjoys her pupachinos!

We arrived as an 8 just after 6:30 on Saturday 29th, we all ordered in our separate twos and it seems that we were all automatically charged a 10% service charge on our bills without telling us anything about it. I checked the menu and...

The staff serving were real nice so this is nothing on them... but these fish and chips were dreadful... an embarrassment really. I walked past the weatherspoon in town and thought to myself.. no, I'll go get me some proper fish and chips from the fancy place on the seafront, treat myself!! Big mistake, I should have gone spoons, would have got a better plate of food and saved a tenner! The fish was overcooked and far too greasy. The oil soaked through to chips which were swimming in a little pool on the plate. I had to leave a lot of them as they were just too gross. I call them chips, but they weren't proper chips.. instead greasy little skin on fries which I suspect came from the kitchen serving the steaks next door. Skin on fries at a fish and chip restaurant.. are they mad?!?!? Mushy peas tasted of nothing. And the tartar sauce was not home made, cheap and nasty tasting, served in a shell which couldn't look more tacky if they tried. Someone thought, 'we'll make it look really posh if we put this manky tartar sauce in a shell'! Honestly! On the wall in the restaurant is a ridiculous, pretentious, self indulgent photo of Marco doing a strange pout holding a meat clever in his hand.. honestly the guy should be ashamed. Its a fish and chip restaurant... at least get a photo of you with a fish in your hand, or a potato, or standing on a boat... something, anything slightly linked to the great British institution that is fish and chips... not the same photo of yourself taken 20 years ago that you have in the steak restaurant next door!! Whats he playing at? Not proper British fish and chips at all! Disgraceful send off for any tourist on the way back to the continent, a final disappointment delivered by the UK as they leave our once great nation! This restaurant is like a sad reflection of the country, sitting there under the white cliffs of dover, pretending to be the great dish it was, trying to look the part but ultimately delivering a big plate of.... well you know what! Gave it 2 stars only cos the guys serving were decent fellas, otherwise it gets a 0 from me! This is the first time I've ever felt compelled to write a Google review... that's how disappointed I was today!

Tried to charge us £25 for 2 bowls of onion soup, by the time we added a couple of coffees the bill came to over £33, excessive. Asked for a refund and left. Staff very polite and helpful but perhaps management are out of touch.

Had an amazing experience as first timers. Fish and chips tasted scrumptious — the guy next to us was yelling at the staff about bad service???The staff and supervisor were so polite I was shocked at his behavior and review. He must’ve been having a bad day and looking for someone to take it out on because we couldn’t have had anything better for a perfect sunny day in Dover!
