Great place for Fish and Chips, clean, neat and very busy, always. Staff are friendly and extremely efficient, working well together. The Cod fish I had was very very nice. Excellent piece of fish. Large chips are very large. Very tasty.

Cheap but good food and service Left a good review 4 years ago, this still stands. Like everything, the price has gone up, but it’s still the cheapest in Wellingborough and the quality I find is just as good as anywhere else. Fantastic little chip shop.

Gold street Fish bar is the best chippy in the area, has a great variety of options to choose from for the whole family and great quality for reasonable price, the staff are very welcoming and I’ll definitely be returning again!

Unfortunately this will be the first and last visit here. Tried due to our local one being closed. Ordered pies to be told they could cook them fresh and quickly, yet when we got home of the pies was cold on the bottom and the filling was even colder. If it wasn’t the other side of town I would of taken back for a fresh order

Lovely staff, although the food was atrocious. The fish and chips were absolutely sopping I honestly think an escort would be dryer. I held the fish for a matter of thirty seconds and my finger tips were that wrinkled it looked as if I had bathed for two hours straight... Would not recommend.

Asked for Cod, not sure what I got but it was certainly not Cod. Seemed like some sort of cheap fish like Bassa or something. Just saying

Quality in depth. I think that you can tell that this kind of food is good when it is worth eating re-heated the next day. Very generous portions so if you were considering 1 between 2 I would endorse that. Always popular but the wait is never too long because very efficiently run - great staff, great service. I particularly like the way they encourage cash but don't insist on it. Honestly priced so above the magic £10 but not by much and a real bargain even for a tight-ar...se like me. Thanks very much

From when this chippy was in its previous guise as Steve's chippy on the high st, it was the and definitely is still now the best chippy for miles. Their meal deals are first rate, the staff are very amiable and helpful. The range of meals is fabulous and if its not on the menu ask and chances are they'll be happy to accommodate your request. Call in advance if you have a big order that you want to collect after calling it in. Again, Gold St Chippy. The Muttz Knutz of Fish & Chip Shops.

Staff at lunch time need to be quicker as people don't have alot of time for lunch, waiting for 20 minutes then the young girl was a bit rude.

The best fish and chips you can buy. Period!

Was unfortunately very disappointed, we have the last chips at the bottom I think and 2 of my children wouldn't eat them as they tasted awful and looked burnt and old. We normally enjoy our chips from here, but been dissatisfied a few times now but gave them the benefit of the doubt.

It's an OK chippy but what I don't like is when plaices don't take cards, ive often poped in without cash and been sent to the petrol station cash machine,seems a bit fishy to me.

Lovely fish cake & chips, called in a bit later than usually would eat, so didn't have full on fish & chips,(haddock), but will try it another day, not the cheapest chip shop, but has a very good reputation & I can see why.

This Fish bar stands superior to any similar shop. Infact it offers the finest fish and chips in the UK. Peter the co-owner is fully commited to ensure that only the best ingrediants are sourced to offer the most exemplary food available. Katie is the very best employee. She coruscates with outstanding brilliance. Her smile and enthusiasm is highly infectious. Laura is her boss. Lovely clean Fish and Chip shop, with modern fixtures and fittings. The staff are friendly and efficient and the food (fish and chips) was fresh and tasty. It was good to see the place busy, on a weekday lunchtime, which is surely testament to the quality of the food.

The food is nice and fresh, the girls at the till are polite but they served customers they arrived after me and I wait a long time, no nice. Everything else is fine.

Just had the worst dried up chips from Gold street fish today at 20.30, i called them to say "you gave me dried up ends of chips mainly" and the woman who answered was so rude and dismissive

Foods really nice but not worth the price. No chippy I know charges such extortionate prices. Did enjoy the food though.

Ordered sausage and chips for me and my kids. Got home and 1 sausage was missing. Searched car in case we dropped it. Drove back. The stupid manager not only accused me of lying, she refused to give me what I had paid for and held me hostage whilst she called the police!!!!!! Disgusting customer service. Needless to say police were not impressed with her stupid behaviour and WILL NEVER go back

I want to tell you that I worked in this location for health reasons, I resigned, but I will never forget my wonderful bosses, a wonderful family with a good soul, as I rarely got to know...about food, I tell you honestly, everything is fresh, quality products, despite the high prices, where to buy them, maximum hygiene for a fresh lunch or dinner, go here with confidence, you will be satisfied wonderful people, top quality services. Excellent piece of fish was accompanied by average chips. The chicken and mushroom pie on the other hand turned out be be beef and was close to inedible

such a shame so many ignorant people judge a place on its risen prices/costs ,I doubt no one giving negative reviews based on price can beat their own price covering costs of ingredients oils and wages and rental/lease and insurance costs

It's ok. Quite expensive for a chippy but the food wasn't bad. Update in view of reply: I understand that, but for the price the food was mediocre (the pie was really quite dry, the chips could have done with a bit more cooking.)

Fantastic fish and chips, absolutely delicious meal and staff are lovely too.

Haddock came nicely battered but when I opened it, it was obvious that it was off; the smell was awful! All other items ordered were fine.

Those who've read my posts before know I'm into my food and coffee so if I say the chips supplied are enough for two I'm not joking. The fish was beautifully cooked with a smooth batter. Mushy peas were tasty as was the curry sauce.

Phoned my order through as they were busy , collected it 5-10 minutes later. Food was hot and fresh ,not over cooked or overly greasy. Ordered 5 meal deals costing less than £14 .

My 15 piece chicken nuggets came with 15 pieces, portions are great and the food quality is 10/10. Also the workers are welcoming and the wait is minimal (Mine was roughly 5 minutes for a full meal even with others ordering)

Large Chips, Large Cod, Large battered Sausage, Curry sauce, Tea-Cake (sorry...Bread Roll) and a can of coke. Spotlessly clean, superb quick service, plenty of options on the menu. The best Fish 'N' Chips I've had in a long time. Can't wait to go back next time I'm in the area...👍👍👍

Not to bad a place, busy as per around the 5pm time, I haven't been to a chippy for a few years so the prices were somewhat a shock! £3.30 for a portion of "large" chips
