1st and last time here.Walked in and 6 people waiting for their food and 4 in the queue waiting to be served by staff that didn’t know how to smile or greet their customers. No food ready apart from one battered sausage. Didn’t look very clean either so went to salt’s down the road which I would highly recommend lovely food and friendly smiling staff . Avoid Linga Longa

Went in the evening time to order fish and chips that was amazing. However ran out of fish cake, battered sausages and no pukka pies. It wasn't to late in the evening and it wasn't to busy but waiting a Linga Longa time to be served!. Staff were as miserable as a wet soggy sock!.

If anybody has ever asked for a recommended chippy in Skegness or Ingoldmells, I would have said "Linga Longa" without a doubt. We've used this chippy (and also the old adjoining restaurant) for the past 30+ years. BUT NEVER AGAIN.. we called on monday 2nd september and the chips were evil. Luke warm, dry and tasteless. If I could have seen what was being wrapped up, I would have refused them, but we had made a 2 mile drive to our caravan before we opened our order. Normally, the chips are cooked as you order, but they weren't on Monday...... We won't be calling at the Linga Longa for a very long time.

We've wanted to visit here for so long as the name caught our eye many years ago when we first started visiting Skeggy. We were spending a week in Butlins so thought it was the perfect time to nip out and get fish and chips for everyone. It's a confusing location to get to if you've never been before as the street to the side of it is a one way road (I ended up parking at Spar over the road). The staff were friendly and although the food took a while, I don't mind waiting if it's being cooked fresh. However, when we got the food back to our room we were disapointed. The chips were overdone and dry (I supect warm ups) and the fish was also dry and overdone. The sauage my son got was pretty much the best thing about the order (the kids meal is pretty impressive to be fair with a drink, book and lollypop). The food repeated on me all night which was a shame, as we'd really looked forward to going. The place was empty when I arrived and I can see why.

Can't beat a bag of chips walking to the seafront, good chips too

We ordered a slightly bigger order for our large family and the staff were so accommodating. The kids meals were great value for money and our fish were incredibly fresh. The best fish and chips I've had in a long time, Incredible sea side food.

Didn’t know this gem was here until a fellow camper told us. We sat and had ours on the picnic tables outside. Fish was cooked to order and well drained. Best fish and chips we’ve had for ages. Chips were well cooked just like we had at our local when I was a lad.

Hi Called in last minute for tea , 2 fish , chips and peas . OMG absolutely disgusting, the fish had been fried that many times obviously reheating it , it was cooked to a frazzle , there was no fish in the tail end it had just dried up , the chips were old not fresh I mean old as in hours , and the peas came out the tub like a sandcastle, I know it’s the seaside but come one not your peas Overall , vile rubbish , if people are rating this place 5stars there either relatives or there’s another linga longa , and if you get served by the miserable old chap , what a riveting experience that will be

Having heard of how good linga longa is over the years thought we would give it a go fish chips and mushy peas for three well it was really bad so greasy and for saying we opted to eat in we were given polystyrene dishes and a wooden fork the place was not clean so if you are thinking of going back for memories sake then don't just keep your memories it's truly awful.

The food was awful Chips tasted like they had been in hot box way too long and the beans were burnt and wouldn't come out ot tub Won't waste my money there ever again

One of the best fish and chips we've ever had. Fish was fresh and melted in the mouth, batter was lovely and crispy and the chips were light and fluffy.

I came in here briefly for chips, husband was at subway next door, this woman gave me a few chips in a mound of paper and when I asked are you for real she said ,that's a portion, so I asked for my money back and said she can keep them.

Popped in last week before my journey back to Nottingham, ordered fish and chips with a strong coffee, was lovely, staff was really pleasant, would definitely recommend it and i will definitely be going back 😋👌🏻

Best fish and chips in the area

State open until 7pm Saturday 30th December only 6:30 and shut. Sorely disappointed !! What is the point of posting opening times expected better.

Great portions and good value for money. Chips were lovely although I’m pretty sure the cod we asked for was haddock.

It's ok my wife likes it but I think the food us a bit inconsistent sometimes nice sometimes not

The food was absolutely disgusting to be honest, my husband ordered for takeaway and we only live few minutes down the road he unpacked the food and it was all very cold, old and clearly had sat there for a long time, the chips where solid the battered sausage dark, cold and soggy and the fish cake dark and cold, the battered fish dark and very bitter, we had to bin every single piece of food we paid for it was that bad we couldn’t eat any of it, we don’t have treats often as a family and to have this as our first treat in a long while was so disappointing, would never go back there again, it used to be one of our favourite chippys now unfortunately one of the worst

The portions are very generous. The service was slow but friendly and cooked fresh in front of us. It would be great if they did specials instead of having to order fish and chips and sauce all separately.

I don't normally say this, as chippys are notoriously up and down as far as food taste is concerned, but I must admit that I had a couple of days ago is probably one of the best fish and chips I have had in quite a while. Hope they can keep it up regularly.

The worst Chippy I have ever eaten from. Food …just awful. Served by someone who obviously didn’t want too be there. Not a single smile from her. Quite sad really. Would not recommend.

Quite honestly the WORST chippy i have ever had! That bad that yes it motivated me to write this review. Large bag of chips £4 that wouldnt feed 2 adults, but the worst part was we were apparently waiting for the chips to cook.....we got home unwrapped our tiny parcel to find dry dark brown chips that were hardly warm looked as though theyd been there from night befor. Absolutely disgusting, and not edible. To add to there terrible food of course goes there terrible customer service...for god sake lighten up u miserable old hag. Avoid and keep driving until you reach the next chippy! If i could give no stars i would 🤮

We had large fish chips and and large battered sausage peas and it only came to £12 there was anoff for three people. Very good for the price and the quality was outstanding.

Visited here back in November with my mum as we were staying close by. The fish was lovely, crispy batter and very tasty chips. Shall look forward to returning later this year.

Called in with the wife ,,ordered 2 curry and chips and sausage to eat in ,,was told to go and sit in cafe seating area,,,waited 10 minutes,,bearing in mind no one else in or waiting to be served,,,got meal brought to us in poly trays piping hot ,,it all must’ve been microwaved,,,limp chips ,,curry sauce tasted of grease ,,,awful ,,£10 ,,,date visited Saturday 10th December…never going back to this establishment

Terrible customer service. Very 'snappy' staff. You can't pick your fish or put in requests, too much skin on fish, which I assume forms a bit of the weight before cooked. Chips nice though

Visited here after it being recommended to us. I have digestive problems so i always request a very lightly battered Cod when ordering fish & Chips & until now it has never been a problem. So i enters the shop. The older man with Grey hair & glasses was on the Fryer & i politely asked if i could have a lightly battered Fish. He said abruptly “No its Only whats in the cabinet already done” So i said well ill be buying another 3 of these anyway for the rest my group. He just said No & walked off. Not to upset the rest of my group i decided to carry on & order our food hoping the batter wouldn’t be too bad for me. As i enjoy crispy Batter just my stomach doesn’t!! So the younger lad who was serving me was doing my Order. There was 5 cod ready in the cabinet. I was buying 4 anyway.I noticed the last cod in the Cabinet was slightly light on the Batter than the rest so i said. Would i be able to have that fish please. The young lad said again No its the first in the line…. If i hadn’t of already paid for our order i would of walked out!!! What a load Rubbish this place is…. People all have different tastes & Requirement’s And we are paying for the privilege The staff are rude & abrupt The food wasnt any better. The full skin was on the fish which ive never seen before. Wouldn’t recommend this place at all.

Visited as the local one didn't take card. Fish was chewy, large chips were small. Fish, chips had a nasty oily taste. Probably the worst chippy I've ever been to 🙈 Didn't cure the chippy craving wasnt fresh at all. Sorry. Disappointed.

Completely refurbed after a fire last year. Fish and chips were excellent. Crispy batter and new spuds. Cooked to order at quieter times.

Awful service , would not let me pick my own fish , the lady said it’s this one or none . Paid & wish I had said no & walked out . The food was low standard , will not visit again

The staff looked miserable and werent friendly. My first thought after I opened my take away box was heyy, its half empty, wheres the food!? I was hungry! I wasnt satisfied with the quantity after I payed £7 for fish and chips. It was bad. Both fish and chips tasted odd. Even tho I was starving like a wolf, I couldnt finish that small portion because it didn't taste right. Linga Longa back then was one of my favourite place to go to for a good chippy. Now im going to avoid the place.

Didn't purchase from here. Joined queue and people in front of me asked 2 simple questions about the fish that was ready. The guy doing the frying answered sharply in one word answers. I had looked at their details on Google before going and thought the prices were on par. BE WARNED they have increased them even though Google shows they were updated 10 weeks ago. Left the queue and went elsewhere.

Expensive for tiny portion sizes. Very nice food though.

Always visit when in skegness, closed when we was there in June and September, wonder if they’ll open again or are they closed for ever - a good idea would be for the owners to clarify things by adding details to the closed sign in the window, simples innit.

It is closed, not sure for how long as there's just a sign in the window saying closed.

Been coming to the Linga longa for 50 years, since the brilliant holidays I had as a child at the Derbyshire Miners Holiday Camp. Visited Winthorpe 3 weeks ago and the food from here was still excellent. Winthorpe Avenue has lost many of its shops, the joke shop, clothes shop, the Dunes, thankfully the linga longa is still here, so sorry to see the fire you had while were staying nearby, hope all the staff were ok. The negative reviews on here are so petty!!!

Always good quality and when requested cook without skin on fish.

Been going to linga longa for many years when at Skegness and always made a point of getting a fish n chips then off to the top to eat well this year we did the usual but to my disappointment the batter was slight burnt too crispy and I could not eat it all. The mushy peas fell out of the carton in a solid lump. Needless to say won't be going there again.

Everything cooked well but it depends who is serving you to how much you get.
