Gluten free fish, chips and curry sauce 😋 absolutely delicious. Cooked to order so piping hot, enormous portion. Helpful and friendly staff and plenty of seating. Gluten free menu had plenty of options. Highly recommend this fantastic place 👍

What a place, atmosphere was off the charts. Place serves alcohol as well. They are victims of their own success. Everyone wants a piece, taking half an hour to be served however well worth the wait...Deep fried creme egg out of this world...

Very good chippy, probably the only one we go to when visiting Skegness. It's always busy with queues out the door. Tried my first battered Mars bar 😍 absolutely unreal! We had to have one every night of our trip and even managed to fit one in before we went home! 😅

This spot in Skegness is definitely in the running for the title of best fish and chips in the area. The fish portions are huge, and there's plenty to choose from on the menu. However I feel like my fish and sausage seemed a bit overcooked this time. Also, expect a long wait to order but it's worth it

The fish was lovely, but it comes in a cardboard tray with a wooden fork ( No plates or cutlery and no option for a cup of tea ). No toilet facilities either, so be prepared.

Had large cod and chips , scampi, kebabs. Cod is average. Kebab is good. At till I felt very bad, as they were on rush. They even forget to get me mushy pees and ketchup. There is no option to ask those again, unless you need to wait in long queue. No other service desk or till open for such needs.

Lot's of chippies locally but few offer value and quality, had haddock chips and peas and they were first class, lovely chunky haddock, soft chips and delicious mushy peas, don't go elsewhere to save a £1 you'll miss out big time, can't wait to go back.

Food is ok just disappointed that I keep finding bones in my fish.

Claims to be open till 9pm but isn’t was shut for 7pm please learn to change your opening times on google

Easily the best Haddock and chips I have eaten for years, and excellent value for money. Proving that good fish and chips can still be bought at a reasonable price. Nice establishment with very friendly staff and atmosphere.

The only place to go for fish and chips. They were amazing and price good for the portion size you get. My daughter loves this place! They don't have a toilet if you need one, however every arcade has one in so pop next door if you need to ( with children it's a must 😂) we had a kids meal, large fish and chips with "mini" fish and chips (was massive) and it was under £20

Popped in for some quick food as recommended by family memeber who raved about here. Amazing decor and themeing. Staff were friendly and helpful even Brought item to the table as it wasn't ready at time of order. All tables clean and tidy with cleaning staff present when customers left. Food was hot and tasty. To be critical, it's just fish and chips though theywere tasty and lovely. So not going to say there gourmet. Defintaly one of the best looking establishments on the skeggy front compared to the other chip shop outlets. Can be loud here. Not only by customers but the soundtrack of pirates talking and cannons firing from the facade outside can be a little loud. Kids loved it. If were in skeg again would visit depending on how busy it is inside. Thanks.

Food was delicious just a shame at just after 6pm a member of staff is mopping the floor so instead of tasting and smelling my food got the taste of floor cleaner.

Food was lovely from here, great prices aswell, staff was very friendly and service was quick. We ate in the place looked great the kids loved it and the spiderman outside. We even got battered Mars bars for afters. Would recommend

Great food and staff are very friendly. Ooh and nice and warm in winter. Lots of variety on the menu from special offers on small meals and jackets, kebabs, all sorts!

Quirky, fun and excellent fish and chips.

Utterly disappointed in this restaurant today. We have been eating at this restaurant frequently over two years for its beautifully piping hot, crispy, golden battered fresh, flakey fish What on earth has happened? How can what was once a supreme meal fall so low, from the best fish we’d ever eaten, to the very worst today? The batter was a congealed, lukewarm spongy mess, the fish was old and chewy, the mushy peas were sour bordering on being off and the meagre chips were a sad, soggy mess underneath. We didn’t ask for the money back, we simply took the meals back to the counter, showed them, told them what we thought and said we were leaving. Their response was ‘alright’. It’s not about the money, although the prices had gone up, it’s the pure disappointment that a great product could fall so low. What was once the best, has become the very worst! So disappointing when we had been looking forward to this lunchtime meal. More disappointing still, is not knowing if this will return to what it once was.

Just fancied a cone of chips, fresh and tasty £1.85. Not busy and all the staff cleaning the kitchen which was very clean anyway, recommended for a quick snack on the sea front.

Really good fish and chip restaurant! I ordered a mini cod which came with chips and a free side for £6.95, it was absolutely huge! Really quick friendly service and some of the best fish and chips I've had! Worth a visit! Inside is decorated really well, lots for children to look at!

Bloody 'ansome fish and chips, one of the best in Skeg. We had reservations about it to begin with as it comes across a bit OTT from the outside, and I makes you think they're compensating for something...not the case, it's just to grab your attention and to create a talking point. The Yorkshire fishcake is to die for, had never had one before I came here, and now I have it practically every time. Food is always hot and fresh, and I've never been given reason to complain - either about the food or the service.

Really nice fresh fish! Not too bad prices. Just a little awkward to park near if you just want to nip in.

Absolutely brilliant. Gluten free haddock and chips were great. Potions spot on and the gentleman who served us was very knowledgeable. Pointed out that the curry sauce was not gluten free and the takeaway fork was also served separately from the cod and chips. We wanted to eat our food down by the sea in the wrappers It was a treat.

The fish & chips were fantastic, and the price so cheap, yes it is basic served on a takeout tray etc, but the place is lovely, and the food so yummy, 12 of us 6 children and 6 adults all loved it.

Rah. Not often fish and chips can bring excitement levels to the point of writing a review but this place has ticked such a box. Kids meal cost less than half a pint of lager at Butlins and the fish had the width of a cat, or maybe a newborn piglet. Pure fish meat party right there. The chips were a potato version of Christmas Day and rumour has it that the curry sauce was forged from the tears of god himself. I fit in the seat when I arrived but after eating the fish piglet, Christmas chips and god sauce I was stuck. Butter had to be sent over to oil me up so I could slither out of the space that I once fit in. Not even ashamed. Next time I may just lay on the floor and they can just shovel the food into my mouth. Kudos to you Trawlers Catch, a tip of the hat to you sweet prince, even if my fish was in the shape of a battered love length with its spuds attached.

Excellent service , amazing food, great prices , we turned up one night 5 mins before they were due to close and fancied cod and chips they were so helpful and still cooked them for us it was such good service and a great experience can’t fault them.

I visited Skegness for work . I said to my work colleague we’ll have to go see the sea and have fish n chips . Well that was a great choice . We decided on the trawlers catch because of the reviews . I’m 58 and they were simply the “best” fish n chips iv ever had . The fish was fresh and tasty with a great light crispy batter and the chips were perfectly crisp on the outside and fluffy in the middle . Mushy peas were good n mushy with a great flavour .You do have to wait and que but it’s worth it . 10/10 trawler catch …. I’ll be back

Excellent fish and chips, very popular spot from the queue to get in. Waited around 20 minutes, but was well worth it. The gluten free fish and chips were great and the best GF version I've had. The place is filled with pirate/nautical themed decor and plenty of seating. The next door pub also allows food to be brought in so no shortage of places to sit.

09/09/23 - Daylight robbery!! Absolutely terrible experience! Worst one - in 30 yrs! - Nationally! Queued up for 20 minutes at 6pm. Ordered most expensive item - 'Large cod and chips with curry sauce.' parted with a tenner. However was given a paper wrap up, of a small tray of chips - toddler portion! with a battered fish on top, full of empty batter, despite being advertised as the 'skinless' option compared to the haddock. The curry sauce was simply forgotten about and not provided. How incompetent. The Blonde hair, short height, female staff member had zero customer maintenance skills, when dealing with the food request. 'Trawler's Catch Skegness, is 'Zero value' for money for food portion, or customer service.' The visit there completely ruined my day out. I wish i would have gone elsewhere. This was absolutely the worst chip shop experience in the entire UK. 'Trawlers Catch, Skegness' is a 'top tourist trap' blindly robbing innocent tourists, due to the stream of footfall from the beach front. Avoid this place with a 'barge pole' and go elsewhere - there's dozens others about. Kids portions being served, at prices through the roof. At this place, 'The Customer' is the 'Trawler's catch!' Absolute pirates!

Food was good, well cooked and reasonably priced, place is well done out with pirate and maritime themed. Service was also good and quick. Good menu available, includes kids menu and gluten free menu. Beer, cider, wine available as well as soft drinks, tea and coffee.

Absolutely lovely place to eat in, lively friendly great customer service. Star of the whole experience was a lovely lady called Debbie who talked to myself, my wife and toddler. Was basically giving the history of the place and suggested that we also try donner meat, chicken etc which is halal which I was not aware of, which was handy to know. Overall excellent food excellent staff, especially Debbie who really is a diamond for this company.

Came back after enjoying it several times last year. The fish is fresh from Grimsby everyday, is cooked to perfection, & tastes great. There is a gluten free menu too, so everyone can enjoy fish & chips (gluten free cod, chips, & a side will set you back £9.50). A small cod, chips, & side is £6.95, with a larger option being available too. As well as the chip shop usuals, there is a kebab section, dips counter, cold drinks, & they even sell alcohol. There is a lot of seating, but because it's so good, it does get very busy. Ideal for kids, as the whole plaice (sorry) is pirate themed... even down to smoke coming out of the cannon's on the shop front. Normally up for trying new places to eat, but we don't bother when it comes to fish & chips here, as it's consistently great

I honestly thought I had already filled out a review for this place but here it is now a month late! I had read about this place before we came to Skegness and though I would give it a try but first I had to check that we would be able to eat the produce. The thing is quite a lot of the fish and chip shops either cook with Lard or throw meat products in to the same oil as the fish (so what's the point then in saying that you cook in veg oil). You could also get curry sauce that was suitable for Veggies. I asked the lady behing the counter and was told that they only cook the fish in that oil nothing else so It was great to be able to get some fish and chips we could eat! We go served pretty quickly and as shown by the picture I thought the portion size was pretty good it certainly filled me, I was that pleased we went back the following day. Day 2, took quite a bit longer to get served today as they was a long que. To me this shows it can't be bad to eat at. Again a good portion size and filled us up nicely for our trip back to Huddersfield.

My one disappointment- no where for ppl with a disability, no room for wheelchairs. All seats are fixed. Food was ok tho. Would probably go again in better weather so can sit outside.

Best fish and chips in skeg Glunten free

Loved this fish and chip shop. The shop itself had a lovely ship/pirates theme and even had their very own Mickey Mouse pirate mascot which kids will love. I had a large cod fish and chips and it was fresh and tasty. The curry sauce side was also lovely and their homemade onion rings. I had a little mistake with my order as she forgot to pack one of my fish and chips but I went back in when I realised and she was friendly about it and packed me another one and apologised. Definitely would recommend if your visiting Skegness to try their fish and chips!

Nice place with a long queue when i walked past at about 13:30. I came back at just after 4pm and it only took me 10 minutes to get served. A popular place. A cone of chips was 1.85 and they were pretty decent.

Great food, and well worth the visit every time we go to skeggy for the day

Food was lovely. We waited 30 minutes in line and not because it was overly busy but because it just seems like the customer service is poor. Good service once we were served and there was loads of seating. We were told the chips and fish and sausages were all fried in individual fryers with palm oil so there was no cross contamination with meat - may be worth checking again. Cod was nice. Chips were fresh. Curry was nice. Would go again!

Amazing cod and hand made chips. That cod was fleshy, big and delicious, my partner loved his halibut. They have a lot to choose like sausages, chicken options, sauces and many more. Prices are goid - 2 adults and 2 kids around 22 quid. Queue is very long because people love it but it is worth waiting. Hm... i think dogs should not be there and that yelling pirate on the top is just too loud... we could not even talk... Recommend it.

The trawlers catch is normally fantastic, unfortunately on this occasion this was not the case, I sat with my sister, niece and nephew for lunch, ordered haddock &chips,then 3trays of chips plus two sausage in batter, sat down to eat, my niece said the above...

This is a world famous fish shop, opposite the aquarium where they display the beuties before they are fried for lunch. Big que, but it went down quickly. They had at least five ordering booths. I have no idea how many fish get fried here a, day but its a lot. Big haddock enough for me, and my son. Had to buy a bottle of ketchup that was 2 quid!! 10 p if you want another dish.

The fish and chips were delicious. The batter was perfect. We had a battered sausage too. Again battered was perfect. Highly recommend going here for proper fish and chips.

We visited here 3rd August 2023. Ordered at around 11:30am to beat any rush. Nice and almost empty at this time. Order was quickly cooked. Fish batter was crispy though too greasy. But chips were anaemic and barely in the fryer to have any colour on them. The chips did not taste as good as we'd expected because of this. Fish body was thin. I do check TripAdvidor prior to visiting places. By 12pm families with noisy kids turn up, yes people do have kids, I know, but the atmosphere changes, topped with that pirate Jack squawking none stop, it's too much. On a plus note, their old black cleaner guy was a great guy 5☆ and we thank him for his advice 👍

The kids loved the staff dressed up as pirates and batman outside as you walk in, who were happy to greet and pose for photos. The interior / exterior decor is very impressive. The food however is pretty mediocre and the portion sizes aren't overly generous for the cost. It's pretty hectic and packed out with customers, which to be fair is expected on the seafront during the summer. The employee who took our order wasn't as warm and friendly as the greeters outside. I would go again purely to please the kids, but as an adult it's not my cup of tea.

Good fish and chips the best I’ve had in Skegness for a long time. And there open quite late. Very good portions I had to eat a quarter of my fish just to get to the chips 😂. A very good menu with lots of choice. All at a reasonable price. Children’s meal £1.99. Inc a drink excellent value. The staff are constantly cleaning the tables and tidying up. There is a steep ramp into the premises but it’s well worth the effort. Toilets are a bit of a trek but clean and tidy.

Lovely fish and chips, cheap aswell. Nice staff and lots of spaces for seating and dogs are allowed in too. Wheelchair accessible which is good. Very fun for young children. My only groan is the loud music played from the nightclub next door, and that is where you have to go for the toilet too. Apart from this it’s very nice. Will revisit!

Delicious haddock and chips, sauce included and a reasonable price for the quality and size. Very quick service and plenty of other options available if you don't eat fish. Gets quite loud inside, especially in high season so if it's sunny I'd recommend takeaway and sitting on the beach right across the road. Does exactly what it should.
