I been there last week and I released that I been charge twice and when I tried to contact to the place no answer

We was looking forward to fish & chips at the seaside but unfortunately even though it had a big sign saying we only use the best British potato I’m don’t think that’s true at all the chips was scabby things with lots of them which looked like black spots on them. My 5yr old grandson was even picking them out saying bad chip by the end of his lunch he had a pile of bad chips a family of 8 and everyone said the same wish I complained but I was told not to say anything. Maybe change your supplier because the one they use are NOT the best feed the pigs with the one you use 🥴

This place has fantastic food and prices are really good for what you get and friendly staff

Saw the reviews on here so looked forward to a chippy dinner all day, but it seems we caught this chip shop having a bad day? Season times shouldn't really matter but that's what I'm putting it down to? It's not as busy so food is just sitting around.. but then why cook it all up? Chips were crispy, seemed overcooked, or re-fried? The cod had a very thick layer of rock hard batter that I struggled to cut, and had to pick it up and eat it with my hands eventually. Cannot fault the girl serving, she was friendly, served us quickly and professionally. Then there was another two members of staff behind the counter caressing one anothers necks and in personal conversation. It was a bit of an odd atmosphere. Decor was interesting and probably the best thing about the place👍

We first visited this chip shop a year ago on a friend’s recommendation and absolutely loved it. The food was excellent — generous portions, great quality, and really good value for money. For a chip shop, the menu was quite varied, and despite the usual queue outside, we were served within 15 minutes. It was a smooth, satisfying experience that made a lasting impression. We were excited to return during the Easter break this year, hoping for the same great service and food. Unfortunately, this visit didn’t quite live up to our expectations. We ended up queuing for over an hour, and it seemed the place was short-staffed, with only three people working. This made the wait feel frustrating, and sadly, the food didn’t match the quality we remembered from last time. On the plus side, there’s plenty of seating available, and they open up the bar next door for additional seating. Don’t be put off by all the tables being taken when you get there, they free up Quite quick. The place is kept exceptionally clean for such a busy venue. The decor is all pirate ship style, something the kids seems to particularly love. There’s often Disney mascots just outside for kids to take pics with too. We’re giving them the benefit of the doubt — we do plan to come back once again. But if the next visit is anything like this one, it’ll likely be our last, which is a real shame for a place that started out so strong.

Not very good at all all batter not much fish

A nice place to eat. Operates mainly as a fish and chip shop. My wife had the OAP special whilst I had a large haddock and chips. My haddock was lovely but definitely not large. My wife's meal was okay but the fish was terrible 😔😭

Trawlers Catch has massively gone down hill since it opened ,,I came here and the Mrs went to Papas round the corner so we had a fish off ,,,,,,,, I had haddock and chips and curry sauce. The chips were rubbish,, white with no taste ?? The fish was just ok and the curry was just ok . Round the corner the Mrs has cod and chips that just seemed far better in quality and everything else,, Trawlers Catch has just gone down hill since they opened , the fish isn't as good as it once was it's poor ,,, there's better now in skeg than this place . The food was bland with the batter of fish being very thick, the chips being barely crispy on the outside. At least they use vegetable oil instead of beef dripping!

My daughter had found this fish and chip shop to go to on Our visit to Skegness on Easter Sunday the main reason being because saying it was because one member of out group is gluten free said they done gluten free fish and chips on the website perfect we thought We was in the Queue for 30 minutes to be told they don’t do gluten free we said it states on your website that you do and that is why we have come here she said we haven’t done gluten free for 3 years which really shocked us that it was still stated on the website they did she was saying something about they didn’t know the PIN code to change it the person walked out in disgrace after waiting that amount of time We did get our fish and chips and mushy which were actually very nice Just a shame they hadn’t put a notice up to to let customers know that they DO NOT DO ANYTHING GLUTEN FREE. Unfortunately we won’t be going back to this fish and chip shop when on a day trip to Skegness . PLEASE BE AWARE OF THIS IF ANY MEMBERS OF YOUR GROUP ARE GLUTEN FREE SO DISSAPPOINTING

A member of our party was gluten free. Reviews said they did gluten free food so thought would give them a try. Queued for 20 minutes to be then told they don't do gluten free fish and chips. Maybe as it was busy they just couldn't be bothered. Not impressed. 😡

Searched online for gluten free chip shops in Skegness. This was the first one that came up. It is NOT a gluten free fish and chip shop so don't waste your time

Came here today 8-4-25 the chips were horrible and black bits and a waste of money fish cake wasn’t nice as well waste of £7.50p with the curry sauce and drink

Visited this place today Trawlers catch the food was in very poor quality..fish cake was dry and grey ..Chips was completely soggy and had black bits on them waste of £6:95.. mini fish was not crispy and also soggy batter it was a waste of £7:95

Visited family in Skegness, we got hungry while out in the town and my cousin said this place was the best in town. We are from Hastings and have high standards when it comes to chippy's 😅 so we were thrilled when these guys met the expectations!

Batter was very soggy and undercooked, the mushy peas was out of a tin and I found a hair mushed up in my chips, Fish was fresh but that was big let down with the above issues!

Went here as usual favourite closed. Fast friendly takeaway service. Haddock excellent fresh tender and crispy batter....chips best I've had in town ..not greasy or hard. Food stayed hot til got home as well packed! My new go to Friday favourite

Great place to eat with the family. Fish cooked beautifully haddock and cod on menu (skin on) only slight criticism not that it bothered me is bring a coat if weathers chilly

Lunch for 1 adult and two kids with drinks £13 - amazing value, fast service, table cleaning was very prompt as customers left. Was a really nice experience for our blustery day at the coast. Will definitely go again.

Fish was huge, battered sausage was greasy and flavourless. Chips were ok. Avoid if you don’t like birds, they were a constant nuisance and always flying around inside the restaurant and sitting on the tables.

We came over to Home Farm Park and went into Skegness Christmas Eve as needed to pick up some Jewellery for Christmas Day. Usually we fetch our fish and chips from Chapel St Lenards, but too far away. We usually go to Salts chippy in Skeggy but gone down hill fast, so needed to find somewhere else. We were a couple + one huge Alaskan Malamute. Sat near the pavement front of shop, and the portion size was enormous, and very cheap to everywhere else in Skeggy, Ingoldmells including Chapel. In fact the fish was huge, a little bit big for us. Extremely hot, cooked to perfection. Cannot fault anything. Even great weather. Thank you very much, hopefully see you again really soon.

Never again. Staff were swearing and had to be reminded by another staff member where they were. Food was old and tasteless. " happy new year" was said to customers as they left. Then staff complained amongst themselves how fed up they were with saying it. IF YOU DON'T MEAN IT, THEN DONT SAY IT. I never replied to them when I left. It was obvious they didn't want us there, it was new years eve and they were closing within the hour. The atmosphere was appaling. It WAS clean tho. Spend your money else where, there's plenty to choose from That may actually want to serve you.

The Onion Rings that I had with some Halibut had so much excess Oil in it that I could only stand eating 3 of them. And the Halibut was so Soggy and also had too.much Oil in it that I could only eat about half. I tossed what I had left over in the Bin. The Counter Service was not all that Pleasant either. I went in because of their small Animatronic Show they had out from with Signs posted that their place was 'Award Winning'. Turned into something of a let down.

This has the most fun facade and interior of a fish and chip restaurant that I've ever seen. Such a fun venue. As for the food, some good some not so good. Nice big piece of fish. Tasty. Well cooked. Good batter. But the skin was left on and that means it's not as pleasant to eat and in the end i had to eat around it. It's not impossible to remove this as other places in Skegness prove. Mushy peas were nice and thick. The best of the ones visited so far. Chips were underdone. The garlic mayo was just a cheap supermarket one squeezed out into a container and not tasty. They did also have a special on for batter pigs in blanket. I generally enjoy a battered sausage so had to try them as its Xmas time. Sadly, they were not good and felt very undercooked. Big surprise. Go the once to experience the venue and if you want more fish try one of the others. There's one that I definitely think is better overall.

Popped in last night as no where open in Ingoldmells. Well it was very busy and the staff were all smiling and happy! It was so nice to receive genuine and helpful service. The young man read the order back to me and then made sure that I was informed of cooking times etc. I will definitely be visiting again. The food was a very reasonable price. The batter was so delicious, thin and crispy. I can highly recommend this restaurant/takeaway. Thank you

Had tea there chip's was old and restaurant was full of starlings on tables poor hygiene

Thought we would clear some cob webs and have a walk along the promenade with some fish and chips. Was recommended here by a colleague from work. Fish and chips we can’t fault but the staff ( 2 girls) seem uninterested and were more concerned about the music that was playing . I would return because the fish was very good, especially without the skin. Maybe the owner might look at better recruitment

Rude serving staff member - no manners and not helpful at all. All food served in disposable trays, children’s meal in a happy meal type box. Only wooden forks given, no knives. Very hard for adults to eat never mind kids fish in a box with a wooden fork! The fish was awful - soggy batter, chips looked/ tasted horrible. Had to go up and ask for sauces which they charged (okay with that) but please offer it when serving so you don’t have to wait again to pay whilst food is getting cold. The place takes advantage of their prime location and visiting tourists rather than pride in serving quality fresh food. The ques were big when we were leaving and I felt sorry for the families wanting good fish chips. We chose here because they had indoor seating unlike so many nearby who only have outdoor seating. This place has potential to become much better. Very poorly run business indeed. Would give 0 stars if possible

Usually quite busy but visited around noon on a weekday. No queue and quick service. Chicken (wife) cooked to order, which was fine. Lovely Cod, nice chips, with my weakness of baked beans. Unhealthy and gross - loved it. Would go for mushy peas, but nobody has mint sauce!

Really disappointed. Been a couple of times in the past but was really disappointed this time. Fish was okay. Bit small considering it was meant to be a large though. The chips were thin, greasy and cold. Food quality gone down hill. Also stomach didn't feel right the next day. Will be looking to go elsewhere next time we're in Skegness. It's a shame as it was our last night in Skegness and was really looking forward to having fish and chips but this experience was ruined.

Have been previously on a few occasions and has always been to a decent standard but today was very poor. Bad potato quality, weird taste, chips covered in black and green bits, very dry. Service wasn’t great either, lady too engrossed in a personal conversation to acknowledge and serve as as we waited at the counter.

Lovely peas, chips all scraggy end bits, not much fish in the lousy yellow batter, it tasted like everything is being fried in the same oil. Used to be lovely but not anymore, I won't be coming back.

The large cod and chips is big. Cook how we liked it, nice and crispy, to much for me really, Chips where lovely. Who ever we had a gravy, it was a much thicker than you would have gravy. Tasty quite beefy like Oxo. Would recommend the food here. Great place to sit and eat.

First time in Skegness and called into for Fish and Chips, fantastic quality and unbelievable value for money , couldn’t fault the staff as some of our chips weren’t hot and were so replaced without any problems ! Portions were generous and the Spam Fritter was the best ever ! Thoroughly recommended !

Came here on the first day of our holiday, I wouldn't say it is the best one in Skegness, the chips were nice enough but the curry sauce was very very thick.

Greeted by a lovely lady who was cleaning the tables. All the staff were polite and friendly. Dog friendly at the entrance tables.The fish was extremely good and well cooked, chips were hit and miss but nothing to really complain about. Coffee lovely and hot. Would definitely recommended and nice to be greeted by lovely staff 😊

Really cool pirate fish and chips shop love the interior it's great, the food is really good fish and chips were banging really nice, one lady server wasn't particularly nice gave me such a dirty look and attitude just for asking if I could have my fish and chips in a takeout box rather than just a bottom tray and wrapped just to make it easier and abit disappointed that you only get sachet sauces rather than a bottle to put your own on and are only given 2 sachets

I got a kebab from here last night, no salad available. Throughout the night ive been up throwing up and with a bad stomach. Hardly had any sleep and on the second day of mine and my daughters holiday. Very disappointed as been here before and was nice. Staff also very rude this time along. I wouldnt recommend coming in no peak times. This has ruined our holiday.

Absolutely rude staff. Our chips came out cold, pie was still frozen in the middle. Rude manager refused to change the food unless we paid again. This cost us £39 only to be but in the bin and staff laughing thinking it was funny. Avoid this place. Health and safety need to pay this place a visit.

Keeping it simple, service was great, got our orders pretty quickly, fish was alright (7/10), decent batter, but maybe because it was an early time slot, but partner and I agreed the batch of chips we had wernt the best.

Avoid at all costs. Someone got ill after eating there and staff are so rude. So many places within a few seconds walk,just don't give this lot your custom

Good fish and chips for good value for money.

Based on number of reviews and rating, we came here on a Tuesday in the middle of August around 11:30 with our 2 little ones. The kids sausage meal was great value at £3.50, they both left some so factor that in. The main (large cod + chips + side) which was around £9 was a good size and very good. Highly recommended! Just an FYI, it got very very busy just after we arrived, so if you have little ones I'd recommend coming early like we did.

An excellent chippy right near the beach. The food was hot, delicious and clearly fresh. Queue took a little while to get through but on a warm Saturday afternoon that's to be expected. The only thing that brought down was the loud and frankly obnoxious pirate audio track that played on a loop (what felt like) every 5 minutes. The content of the track wasn't a problem just a few cheesy pirate jokes. The issue was the sheer overpowering volume! We were sat outside due to limited space inside and after a couple of minutes we were blown away by a sudden and unexpected west country accent bellowing 'ahoy mateys!'. This instantly scared both our young children who didn't know what was going on but also other children around us as the track continued with loud, almost realistic cannon fire effects, angry dog barks and a shrill squawking parrot. Like i've said the track itself wasn't the issue and I understand it matches the theming and will draw in punters but to suddenly go from eating our meal to suddenly being at the front row of a heavy metal concert (it was that loud) really ruined our experience. Also, to the owners you might want to have a word with one of the cleaners on duty yesterday as I saw them multiple times pouring part finished drink cans that had been left on the tables and pouring them into one can before necking the mixed up left overs and then binning the now empty cans. Just give the man a drink so customers don't have to see him swallow multiple customers spit back cans of pop.

Me and my husband always get cod and chips from here when we visit Skeggy from Boston. The food is always delicious 😋, quick service and friendly staff. I asked the girl who was serving us our food, if they have octopus rings. I confused them with onion rings 😅. But maybe this could be another idea they could add to thier menu, to extend their business 🤔. Will keep going to Trawlers catch for our cod and chips. Lovely bit of squirrel 😋💯.

Still one of the best fish and chips in Skegness, my only complaint was the tinned mushy peas. A place like this that's guaranteed to sell mushy peas all day long should be making their own.

This place came highly recommended. We had the large cod and chips and it was deffo large! Well worth the money. Lovely firm fish and golden chips.

We have eaten here before and I would say the food was better quality a few years ago. Guy who served us was very polite but the main issue was the tables were all full (with a large section roped off). Prior to ordering I asked if we ordered, could we sit in the roped off area? The female manager reluctantly said yes but felt like we were an inconvenience to her cleaning plan by her attitude. It was busy and other people joined us on the same area as this was the only place with vacant tables but customer service just felt lacking this time. Would go somewhere else next time.

Really popular so we decided to pop in for a chippy lunch, service was prompt considering how busy it was, very mass produced so the quality wasn’t quite there for us, fish was slightly under, same with the chips

Been here with My wife every time We visited Skegness. Used to go to another Fish and Chips restaurant long ago but has been shut down (Says it all). This is the Only place We will go now. Brilliant service, Food, and Atmosphere.

fish and chips were okay, was a long queue and was waiting a while. If you visit don’t sit outside because that awfully loud comedy show that lasts half an hour and happens every two minutes makes it the most annoying place i’ve ever visited.

Bad service, got the wrong order 3 times, do they not get what "to go" means? Or maybe its a new person.

1st time visiting the place. Chips looked abit undercooked but can live with that. Fish looked nice and crispy batter. But that was it fish was very overly greezy. Driping in grease and didn't taste nice at all. Chips didn't taste nice. Only good part was the 10 chicken nuggets. Very dissatisfied

A long queue so have something to entertain you while waiting to be served (e.g. your phone/headphones/book). Luckily I had my phone/headphones. Wonderful that there are electrical sockets for one to charge their phone and that the chips are fried in sustainable palm oil (asking management) so Veggies like me can eat a main meal somewhere in the centre of the Tourism area (near one's meat-eating loved ones who they have come on the trip with). Hopefully next time my loved ones come to Trawler's Catch after being informed (by other Reviews) it's the best Eaterie by the Clock Tower

I was very disappointed to not be able to eat at our favourite fish and chip shop today. We have several members of the family with Coeliac disease and it's always been amazing for gluten free until I was told today they no longer do gluten free food. In this day and age when more and more people are being diagnosed this seems to be a huge mistake and a very short sighted business decision. Very disappointing.

Really good food, and one of the only places in skeg for a famous battered mars bar. Great parking up the road for bikers, and a really cool pirate themed establishment. Wait times can be long, but good prices and good staff.

The best themed pirate chip shop in skegness and food and drinks reasonable price and staff always friendly and highly recommended the mascots visits with : Captain Jack Sparrow & Spiderman & Mickey Mouse Pirate and amazing friendly people and highly recommend for photos and hugs and make you feel very welcome

Amazing place to go; the food was brilliant, it was busy but I was served quickly and got a seat. Prices are very good, not more than back home, so that was a refreshing change. It was easy to find.

Nice food but too loud outside with corny pirate jokes booming out. No need for this with good fish and chips saying it for you.

I have always recommended trawlers catch. Haven't been for a while. Got fish and chios to take away today and was very disappointed. The fish was dry and half of it was just batter and the chips weren't that good. Always loved them from there. Hope it's just a bad day ☹️
