First time in Skegness and called into for Fish and Chips, fantastic quality and unbelievable value for money , couldn’t fault the staff as some of our chips weren’t hot and were so replaced without any problems ! Portions were generous and the Spam Fritter was the best ever ! Thoroughly recommended !

Came here on the first day of our holiday, I wouldn't say it is the best one in Skegness, the chips were nice enough but the curry sauce was very very thick.

Very poor quality, definitely gone down hill fish overcooked . Server uninterested in doing his job . Will not be returning

Food practically raw,just shocking bad service and staff as nasty as nasty as they come.do not give these your custom,there's much nicer places just down by the beach.

Absolute dump,dirty,barely cooked food,rude staff who had an autistic child in tears and ruined rest of our day. Avoid at all costs.

Still one of the best fish and chips in Skegness, my only complaint was the tinned mushy peas. A place like this that's guaranteed to sell mushy peas all day long should be making their own.

This place came highly recommended. We had the large cod and chips and it was deffo large! Well worth the money. Lovely firm fish and golden chips.

We have eaten here before and I would say the food was better quality a few years ago. Guy who served us was very polite but the main issue was the tables were all full (with a large section roped off). Prior to ordering I asked if we ordered, could we sit in the roped off area? The female manager reluctantly said yes but felt like we were an inconvenience to her cleaning plan by her attitude. It was busy and other people joined us on the same area as this was the only place with vacant tables but customer service just felt lacking this time. Would go somewhere else next time.

Really popular so we decided to pop in for a chippy lunch, service was prompt considering how busy it was, very mass produced so the quality wasn’t quite there for us, fish was slightly under, same with the chips

The worst Fish and Chips I have ever tasted. The counter service didn’t serve more like through the food to you. The restaurant was not very clean.

Been here with My wife every time We visited Skegness. Used to go to another Fish and Chips restaurant long ago but has been shut down (Says it all). This is the Only place We will go now. Brilliant service, Food, and Atmosphere.

fish and chips were okay, was a long queue and was waiting a while. If you visit don’t sit outside because that awfully loud comedy show that lasts half an hour and happens every two minutes makes it the most annoying place i’ve ever visited.

Bad service, got the wrong order 3 times, do they not get what "to go" means? Or maybe its a new person.

1st time visiting the place. Chips looked abit undercooked but can live with that. Fish looked nice and crispy batter. But that was it fish was very overly greezy. Driping in grease and didn't taste nice at all. Chips didn't taste nice. Only good part was the 10 chicken nuggets. Very dissatisfied

A long queue so have something to entertain you while waiting to be served (e.g. your phone/headphones/book). Luckily I had my phone/headphones. Wonderful that there are electrical sockets for one to charge their phone and that the chips are fried in sustainable palm oil (asking management) so Veggies like me can eat a main meal somewhere in the centre of the Tourism area (near one's meat-eating loved ones who they have come on the trip with). Hopefully next time my loved ones come to Trawler's Catch after being informed (by other Reviews) it's the best Eaterie by the Clock Tower

Couldn't eat here as they no longer serve gluten free food despite still advertising they do on Google!!!

I was very disappointed to not be able to eat at our favourite fish and chip shop today. We have several members of the family with Coeliac disease and it's always been amazing for gluten free until I was told today they no longer do gluten free food. In this day and age when more and more people are being diagnosed this seems to be a huge mistake and a very short sighted business decision. Very disappointing.

Really good food, and one of the only places in skeg for a famous battered mars bar. Great parking up the road for bikers, and a really cool pirate themed establishment. Wait times can be long, but good prices and good staff.

The best themed pirate chip shop in skegness and food and drinks reasonable price and staff always friendly and highly recommended the mascots visits with : Captain Jack Sparrow & Spiderman & Mickey Mouse Pirate and amazing friendly people and highly recommend for photos and hugs and make you feel very welcome

Amazing place to go; the food was brilliant, it was busy but I was served quickly and got a seat. Prices are very good, not more than back home, so that was a refreshing change. It was easy to find.

Nice food but too loud outside with corny pirate jokes booming out. No need for this with good fish and chips saying it for you.

I have always recommended trawlers catch. Haven't been for a while. Got fish and chios to take away today and was very disappointed. The fish was dry and half of it was just batter and the chips weren't that good. Always loved them from there. Hope it's just a bad day ☹️

Monday went trawlers chip shop chips was ok and on Thursday chips was very greasy and not nice the staff was rude we had bellyache after our snap

Visited two times with wife and daughter first was great had chips and fishcakes what was also good is that you can order your drinks with your food a lot of other chip shops make you go out to a counter outside for drinks anyway the food was amazing the first time then the second time had same chips ware greasy and a lot of black marks the fishcakes was ok anyway after we had eaten we went then about 30mins later all three of us started with very bad stomache

No longer serve gluten free products! Been comin here years and all of a sudden.. no more. Shocked

Visited here for the first time on 28 June 2024. Very full up and a queue but I can see why it’s popular. I love the pirate display outside and the inside is well decorative. Being busy they had three people serving. I ordered chicken and chips, my partner fish and chips with curry sauce. Very filling meals and I also tried fried mars bar. I don’t like batter but the chocolate bar made it taste better. Would definitely come here again.

We had a day out to Skegness.. never seen this place before, but thought we would sit in as was quite cold today !.. just like a chip shop counter inside with seating, not really a restaurant as you might think. The staff were really friendly especially the young man who brought some items over for us.. we both had Large cod, chips and peas, really good portions and reasonable price under £20 considering the location. You clear your own tables, but it was very clean … We would visit again .. Thank you 😊..

Excellent and different fish and chips restaurant with pirates theme thro out auto pirates outside with music and talking children love it mustn't forget spiderman 😀 the fish an chips are good too coffee not bad either

Lovely atmosphere here brilliant pirate theme for the kids with cannons and smoke outside the front very reasonabley priced cod was nice aswell as the chips curry sauce was lovely ample seating and very close to alot of amneties

The best fish and chips in Skegness , tends to be a little crowded but definitely worth visiting and enjoying a nice and affordable meal.

Plenty of seating and good prices. I personally found the fish and chips a bit greasy. My local is much better. Chips were OK. Fish was OK but a decent size. The pirate display outside is very loud, but suppose it catches people's attention. The restaurant was clean but disappointingly no toilets given the size of the place.

Just ordered 2x Large Fish and Chips. The food was served promptly and good service, but the fish and batter were tasteless, the chips were also practically tasteless. Even the vinegar was very weak and tasteless. Overall very disappointed and wasn't satisfied with our lunch. The most bland tasting fish and chips i have ever had.

The food here was of excellent quality and despite how busy it was we were served in a good amount of time. The decor is unique and different. I would recommend here.

No longer serve gluten free !!!! Honestly it's shocking , is it really that hard to keep 1 extra fryer running for us who cant eat gluten , it's a struggle enough and I was so excited to eat here again after eating here gluten free for a few years now .

Looked on reviews and looked decent, however and was abysmal. Service was decent place was clean enough. But the food was hideous, the peas and curry sauce were pretty good. The chips where either black or little pieces and cold the fish was fair size decent batter but tasted utterly vile I could only just manage to keep a mouthful down my partner said hers tasted bad and asked to try mine and spat it straight out said hers was worse. 22 quid in bin

Great food. Comes nice and warm. Not soggy at all. Fish was tasty and not thin. Was good portion size and great price. The only downside was that the top of the pie was super dry but I don’t eat that part so it didn’t bother me

Delicious fish and chips. There's a reason why their reviews are what they are. They get fresh fish daily and the taste is definitely amazing. We came here twice because it was so good. Once we ate at the restaurant the second time we took away. Eating at the restaurant was much better. Curry sauce was good too!

This place is delicious. Highly recommend it. Fresh fish daily, prices right, and it's sooo delicious. I had the skinless cod (large) it def can feed two. The fries/chips were nice. Add little curry sauce, or option of mushy peas, can't go wrong. Add salt and malt vinegar for an authentic English flavor. There are about 7 other fish and chips options right there, but we enjoyed Trawlers best.

Food was shocking I was very disappointed doner meat was under cooked chips were over cooked Staff were helpful but Fish was the worst it was soggy and damp The tables are that old to the point as soon as I sat down, I fell off The table snapped and they have the cheek to charge you 12 pounds each person. Will never return.

Usually very good but the fish was rubbish. Very greasy and a thin portion. The gimmick of the pirate constantly chatting is off putting. I shall be returning to eptons from now on.

Possibly the best fish and chips I’ve ever eaten!

This place has always been a great place for fish and chips. It’s designed to also attract young kids with its pirate theme. Food and drink good with reasonable pricing. However, dropping a couple of stars as they no longer provide toilets. They probably fell out with next door whom they had an agreement with. But for a sit in restaurant with no facilities and aimed at kids is not good. You should pay them more and get it re-opened.

Not the best chips and fish. We always go to the Blue Fin chippy really nice.

Visited here a few times over the last 3 to 4 years and the haddock chips were very good, but some as changed this year 1st may 2024 ,we asked for haddock chips peas what we got was terrible it states haddock but it's not you can tell by the quality, taste and texture, it was a cheap fillet of something else possible pollock scrapy chips peas out of a tin , so people be aware that the fish is not haddock it's a con

Me and my friend called in here Friday lunch time . We ordered our food and I asked for mayonnaise and I was told it's 25p which really winds me up because I think you pay enough for your food you shouldn't have to pay for your sauce . On a positive note the guy who was making sure the place was kept tidy did a great job

Horrible experience. After eating here was bilious. 5 mins after eating large cod and chips was feeling ill, steadily felt worse and worse until approx 2 hours later was violently sick.

Good food in pleasant surroundings

Fish not as nice as previous visits, it was only luke warm and had chewy batter, even the fish was rubbery. It's our fish Friday visit three times a month, so I hope standard's and quality aren't going down hill, will find out on our next visit in a week or so. Will report back

I tell you what. The scoff here is outstanding. BUT the experience was hideous. I guess it's what you're used to. It was like a tanked up McDonald's on crack. Never experienced anything like it. As I say though, the food was extraordinary and worth it. Operated like a very well oiled machine.

What a place, atmosphere was off the charts. Place serves alcohol as well. They are victims of their own success. Everyone wants a piece, taking half an hour to be served however well worth the wait...Deep fried creme egg out of this world...

Very good chippy, probably the only one we go to when visiting Skegness. It's always busy with queues out the door. Tried my first battered Mars bar 😍 absolutely unreal! We had to have one every night of our trip and even managed to fit one in before we went home! 😅

This spot in Skegness is definitely in the running for the title of best fish and chips in the area. The fish portions are huge, and there's plenty to choose from on the menu. However I feel like my fish and sausage seemed a bit overcooked this time. Also, expect a long wait to order but it's worth it

The fish was lovely, but it comes in a cardboard tray with a wooden fork ( No plates or cutlery and no option for a cup of tea ). No toilet facilities either, so be prepared.

Had large cod and chips , scampi, kebabs. Cod is average. Kebab is good. At till I felt very bad, as they were on rush. They even forget to get me mushy pees and ketchup. There is no option to ask those again, unless you need to wait in long queue. No other service desk or till open for such needs.

Lot's of chippies locally but few offer value and quality, had haddock chips and peas and they were first class, lovely chunky haddock, soft chips and delicious mushy peas, don't go elsewhere to save a £1 you'll miss out big time, can't wait to go back.

Food is ok just disappointed that I keep finding bones in my fish.

Easily the best Haddock and chips I have eaten for years, and excellent value for money. Proving that good fish and chips can still be bought at a reasonable price. Nice establishment with very friendly staff and atmosphere.

The only place to go for fish and chips. They were amazing and price good for the portion size you get. My daughter loves this place! They don't have a toilet if you need one, however every arcade has one in so pop next door if you need to ( with children it's a must 😂) we had a kids meal, large fish and chips with "mini" fish and chips (was massive) and it was under £20

Popped in for some quick food as recommended by family memeber who raved about here. Amazing decor and themeing. Staff were friendly and helpful even Brought item to the table as it wasn't ready at time of order. All tables clean and tidy with cleaning staff present when customers left. Food was hot and tasty. To be critical, it's just fish and chips though theywere tasty and lovely. So not going to say there gourmet. Defintaly one of the best looking establishments on the skeggy front compared to the other chip shop outlets. Can be loud here. Not only by customers but the soundtrack of pirates talking and cannons firing from the facade outside can be a little loud. Kids loved it. If were in skeg again would visit depending on how busy it is inside. Thanks.

Food was delicious just a shame at just after 6pm a member of staff is mopping the floor so instead of tasting and smelling my food got the taste of floor cleaner.

Food was lovely from here, great prices aswell, staff was very friendly and service was quick. We ate in the place looked great the kids loved it and the spiderman outside. We even got battered Mars bars for afters. Would recommend

Great food and staff are very friendly. Ooh and nice and warm in winter. Lots of variety on the menu from special offers on small meals and jackets, kebabs, all sorts!
