Didn't go there, have been before, will not be going again anymore

I had a burger which was swimming in grease so much so it soaked the bun under it and made it not nice to eat, my dad had "haddock" which it clearly wasn't....also very greasy and more batter than fish.....the chips had been fried in very old oil making them dark on the outside and semi raw in the middle.....£20 bill was way too much for the standard of food. And before we get a reply of "you didn't say something was wrong" I didn't want to eat anything else from there. So we just walked out £20 lighter having not eaten my burger or chips. WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND TO ANYONE!!!!!!!

They conned me. 0 stars if possible. I ordered some food to take out. They asked if I wanted salt or vinegar and I said no as I detest the taste of salt as well as it being bad for people, but there was still traces of salt in it. They insist on cash only - I wonder why ? I can only think of one reason - typical sea-side business, even though I am local. Most importantly, they have a notice saying they are obliged by law to charge 25p for a plastic bag, but THEY ARE LYING. The government says 10p. Also, they put it into a bag and when I said that I did not need a bag, the woman said " It's easier". After I had eaten, I added up the prices and realised that they hadn't given a bag because it was easier, they had charged for it even though I said that I did not want it. The bag was a small, really flimsy bag that is impossible to re-use and costs them literally a fraction of a penny to buy, so they have made an extra 24.9p on the sale. Imagine, over a season, how much extra money they are conning out of people. I will also contact Trading Standards because I never entered into a contract to purchase a plastic bag but was forced to buy one. They display no terms and conditions that state that buying a plastic bag is compulsory if one wants to purchase food.

Food is really good cooked to order really enjoyed it was a little bit on the expensive side for a takeaway

Easily the best chippie in Skegness! Fish was fresh and the batter crispy, just perfect. Chips where incredible. We will come here every time we visit!

Decent food, quite tasty! It’s quite pricy for the portions and a pain that it was cash only. But overall still a positive experience. About the same price as closer chippies.

Fab Fish Chips n Mushy Peas. Fish was cooked to order then brought out as I sat outside complete with salt and viniger dispensers. Was expensive like everywhere of late although they had many offers advertised I was pushed for time so did not look at them and simply ordered my favorite. Highly recommend and will certainly revisit

Our second visit. Once again I was allowed to park my scooter just inside the door. Restaurant absolutely spotless again. All of us ordered haddock and chips. My mum said she had never tasted haddock like it and my aunt said it was the best fish she had ever had. Brilliant service, food cooked fresh to order. Amazing place to eat. Best fish and chips in Skegness. We will be back

I can't thank ALL of the staff enough for the wonderful warm welcome myself and my family received on our first visit whilst on holiday and the food was absolutely beautiful, Freshly cooked, hot,and very tasty, the fish is outstanding! So immediately after out first meal we knew we would be back again, So we did! The very next day 😆 Our son chose the lamb shank and he had finished before anyone else and said its the nest he's ever had, our 8 year old said her dinner was even better than McDonald's!! So to all of the staff at The blue fin, THANK YOU ! Your all amazing at what you do, and we're still on holiday and we will be back again for the 4th time before Sunday when we go home,

Had the best fish and chips in a long time ,well worth a visit

If I have had better fish and chips I can't remember when or where. Absolutely spot on and cooked to perfection. Service was very good and the eating area spotless. I will have no qualms in recommending this place to anyone. Family or friends. I will definitely be using them again and 5 stars was no enough. Thank you Blue Fin for brightening my visit.

The blue fin was not our first choice but due to another nearby restaurant being full we came here and wow am I glad we did. Firstly I was allowed to bring my mobility scooter just inside the door so I wasn't anxious about it being outside, secondly the whole place was spotless. We chose a comfy seat and perused the menu and the specials. My partner chose king prawns, haddock. Chips and curry for me and my friend had cod and chips. Sadly jacket potatoes had sold out but new potatoes were available to my partner and he proclaimed these as delicious along with his prawns. My haddock was unbelievably soft and full of flavour and wow the chips were the best I've ever had and the curry went with them perfectly. My friend was in heaven with her cod and was still talking about it on the way home. From now on for fish and chips in Skegness this is the only place to be. Before I forget the staff were so lovely and welcoming and the food was cooked to order and so fresh and hot.

First visit here, & won't be our last ,piping hot cod & chips & peas ,sat inside as very hot weather. Lovely large flaky fish, very tasty , so glad I looked on TripAdvisor for a good one ,after eating at many of the others in town that are not so good. Friendly staff too, restaurant nice & clean, only downfall is the cash only ,luckily had cash on us that day . Definitely recommend, & we will return when visiting the area again. Thank you.

If you’re in Skegness this place is well worth a visit. The fish was beautiful and the chips were fresh. I’d happily go again.

Visited again, this time on a weekend in May. Food just as fresh and tasty as before. Lovely friendly lady working in there. Back to plates and cutlery in the restaurant which is nice. Still busy again but good came out promptly. I did notice they closed at 5pm today, so out of season the opening hours are reduced.

Small portions what we thought on mini fish special for £5.95 twice but charged £16.30 the extra was just for sitting outside on there benches so charging £2.20 so for that reason wont be back as other in skegness dont charge did not even get chips brought out to us nice lady inside serving

Blue Fin Fish Bar was great, very clean and spacious, the chips were perfect and not swimming in fat, the fish and batter were really good too and a nice mug of hot tea went down well with it. The staff were very nice and friendly. I would recommend a visit.

Very disappointed with the opening times! This place was recommended to us when we moved to Skegness in May. Have tried numerous times but only once has it been open even though it's been shown as "open"! All attempts have been at tee time 5.00 - 6.00 pm. Real shame!

The last time I came here, I thought it was a pretty good chippy. The fish and chips were fresh and tasty.

Not impressed purchased a small tray of fish and chips. The fish had been a frozen deep fried fillet and the chips were hard. Threw most of it away it was so awful The cost of this meal with a can of tango came to £9.45. Would certainly not recommend.

We visited here and decided to eat in. The service was good, the staff were very friendly. Was a little disappointed that the food in the cafe is still served in the takeaway trays rather than on a plate. The food was tasty, fresh and hot but portions a little small and not easy to eat in the small tray it was served in. They only offered plastic forks, no knives were available. The 20p a sachet of sauce also seemed a little steep!

We have been a few times to the Blue Fin over the years but that was the first time post pandemic. We were disappointed. The restaurant used to have proper crockery and cutlery and waitress service. Now it's order at the counter and although the food was brought to us,what a difference. Presented in polystyrene trays,plastic fork,no knives not even a serviette to wipe greasy hands. The tea was also in a polyfoam cup. The food is still good but the prices are not reflected in the change of service and was a little more than anticipated. Sorry but will be giving it a miss next time.

The fish and chips were freshly cooked and nice, though I've never had such miserly portions very small fish & about 8 chips. In all for 2 portions with 2 teas (served in a small polystyrene cup ) for £23.50 !! Won't be returning !!

We were there for a day trip. There were so many fish and chips places to eat. It can be very confusing for visitors. At last we chose Blue Fin Fish Bar because of the advert by the road. It was reasonably priced. You need to ask for the promo price advertised Otherwise you get their normal price in shop. The portions were smaller but that suited us as are small eaters. It was a great idea to offer smaller portions for people like us.

Could have been the time of the day I went. They were closing up at 6.30pm but online it says they are open until 8pm. The portions are small. Chips and sausage were a kids portion with only 1 mini sausage. I thought it was expensive. 2 x fish and chips, chips and sausage, kid’s chips and chicken nuggets (you only get 3 most places sell 4) 3 cans of soda came to £33. All the food was nice, the staff was nice but there was not enough of it. You can sit in, sit outside or take out. They have toilets but we didn’t use them. They have parking outside.

So I got the cod and chips. They fry the food separately hence I went here. The Cod and chip was really nice. Seating inside and outside. Staff are accommodating too. There's parking right outside.

Been to this place twice before on visits to Skegness and on both previous visits it was a very good cafe this time I am afraid it was not so good with the food being served on polystyrene containers and using plastic forks instead of plates 🍽 and proper utensils, the standard of the food was pretty decent but my partner ordered scampi which saddens me to say they where a bit skimpy on scampi with just six pieces being given out, they have let there standard slip in a big way, and of course the food was overpriced, wont be back to this place again there are better places than this in Skegness

Didnt eat! just stopped by asked if the child could use there toilet they refused on the basis nothing was purchased so as they had that clientell atitude needless to say i didnt purchase anything just found the little one food and a toilet elsewhere.

Best chips ever had my partner had two portion ,always go there when in Skegness

The place was empty when we turned up, we ordered and when served a meal was wrong, so instead of correcting a £1 issue, over a £52 bill, a scene was caused, we were told we couldn't have a 1/4 with kebab meat, why? Because they don't do it, then when leaving I got a cone of chips with gravy and cheese and cost £5.20, the food was lovely but the customer service sucked

Nice enough food but extortionate prices, small fish (feels like a fish bite and the off cuts from a full fish!), chips and curry sauce and a can for 3 £18! Wish I'd walked down chip alley and saved myself some money, would have been cheaper to get 2 pub meals for less than that....

Great fish and chips! The fish was freshly cooked and delicious. The portion size was just right, so nothing went to waste. Definitely one of the best in town. The food was served on a tray with a wooden fork, like many fast food restaurants, so this wasn't an issue for me. I was very impressed with the food and service. I had haddock and chips, it was £8.05, so maybe not the cheapest in Skegness, but worth the money. Note, the times on Google are not correct for the winter as they close early. It is also cash only.

Thought we would try Blue fin today. Was very disappointed. The price was very expensive yet very small portions. Peas was rock hard and tasteless like cardboard. Child spaying cleaning products and wiping table while people eating Definitely won’t be coming again.

Had fish & chips here today - both were delicious and crispy; not oily/greasy and have to be up there with some of the best we/family have eaten in UK. Mushy peas a bit bland; could do with better forks yet do like wooden/environmentally friendly concept. Staff are lovely and played some amazing music too. Vegetraian friendly. Would definitely eat here again (& bring my own cutlery;)

What a great little place, we were hungry on our visit to Skegness so decided fish and chips was the seaside choice. This little chippy was just off the main Street so you have to look for it, it's well worth finding though as the food is very good. We had freshly cooked fish and chips without it all swimming in oil, all in all it was a great experience at "The blue fin" all I would say is that I expected table service but my order was shouted through, hence the 4 stars not 5. Do yourself a favour and pop in if your in skeggy. Give us a thumbs up if you like the review 👍
