Sea Chef in East Lindsey

Just wanted a small snack after walking dog on the beach. We got 1 fish and 2 rolls. Everything cooked fresh to order. Batter was crispy and delicious and the fish was tasty too. Bread rolls were buttered nicely and were very fresh. Absolutely brilliant. We will definitely use them again. Friendly service with excellent food.

First time visit. Delicious!! Received a very friendly welcome, ate outside (because we had a dog with us). Tables very clean. The chips were freshly made and well presented. Good portion size too. Will definitely be back!! Thankyou!!

4 of us had haddock and chips here last night.. We ate in.. It was absolutely bang on.. Fish beautiful and crispy batter.. Chips cooked to perfection.. And plenty of them.. Highly recommend

£14 for frozen chips, a pie and some cheese. I took pains to order a pie I could see in the food warmer. It still took 10 minutes to get my food. Oh and their cash only.

You can usually tell how good a place is if it has a decent queue, it shows that it's worth the wait. The sea chef is a place that serves good food all year round and if you're in Chapel Saint Leonards, give it a try, nice staff too!

Inside is basic no frills, has one loo which is good. Food cooked fresh and came to table nice and hot. Service good, staff friendly. CASH ONLY tho. Had to get money out from cash point. Hubby had large cod, medium chips and a hot chocolate. I had a portion of Scampi and a Latte, really tasty food.

I'm amazed there are no reviews here as the Sea Chef is the perfect place to go for fish and chips. We moved to Ingoldmells this year and after trying this place 5 months ago we now return regularly, apart from the amazing food the staff are the friendliest and most welcoming I have come across. The girl who always serves is especially welcoming and smiles all the time, and can't do enough for you. 10 out of 10 all round. If you visit Chapel St Leonards you must call into the Sea Chef.

We've been here numerous times over the years, but this was the first time in a couple of years we bought the kids, so thought a review on order. We ordered Fish and Chips, Sausage and Chips, Cheese and Onion Fryit And Chips, and Sausage and Fishcake, all with Curry Sauce. We sat inside and didn't take away. All the food was excellent, the youngest loved the fish so much we had to go back the next evening. The rest of the food was really good, and we had so many chips we couldn't eat them all. Would definitely recommend for a fish and chip dinner.

Ordered a large cod, it looked good and the batter wasn’t bad but the fish was awful. Full of water and tasteless with a rubbery texture. I told them about it but only got a reasoning that fish are watery! And a half hearted “sorry”.

Ordered Chicken and Chips. Chicken was cooked just how we like it well done .I dont like to see Chicken half cooked with blood in .Went back the next night and ordered Chicken Pie and Chips and Mushy peas Great price .More variety than the Marina Will Definitely be back in a couple of weeks Thanks for a great service

Chip were disgusting! Clearly use frozen chips, very greasy, never been a chip shop! I will never use them again 😞

Friendly staff, Lovely fish & chips

This is a nice fish and chip shop / cafe where you can eat in or takeaway and is value for money with a variety of options from the usual fish and chips to other options such as fish fingers, chicken nuggets, sausages, scampi,pineapple fritters. The food is cooked to order so is as hot and fresh as you can get but you do have to wait because of this but it’s worth the wait, parking outside is limited but there are plenty of car parks nearby

Went here a few months ago and it was lovely, but I went yesterday and it seemed to have gone right down hill, the chips tasted frozen and the fish was tasteless and was really overcooked, such a shame as lovely people…..

This is the third time I have come to this fish and chip shop,it has never disappointed me, the service is excellent, lovely staff, really nice and kind,the service is really quick and always tastes absolutely delicious.I like how the curry sauce has a Chinese twist on it instead of normal chip shop curry sauce.We have always come to this fish and chip shop because it's very affordable and very reasonably priced and just never disappoints I will most certainly come back here again and again.

We visited on Good Friday after a good walk around Anderby Creek. We were greeted with warm friendly smiles and lovely service. There was a wait while our order was freshly prepared, but my was it worth it! The chips were second to none, crispy with fluffy insides. The fish just melted in the mouth and the batter was delicious. A lovely big bag of scraps too. Everything was steaming hot, well presented and delicious. Well done Sea Chef and thank you very much, outstanding!

Been here many times as we travel down to see friends who live in chapel always had a friendly welcome and a lovely meal. Unfortunately this time extremely let down though the lady was friendly and polite the meals and there was three of us chips werent bad but the fish was very greasy alot of batter and not much fish at all peas very watery and we sat in as it was a cold night sub zero but it was so cold inside we were shivering even with our coats on so before finished our meal was cold and we was that cold when we got up from the table too leave struggled to get moving as we were so cold so sad as i say weve always been well happy with everything

I live locally and buy fish and chips from here all year round. They are by far the best. Cooked to order and melt in the mouth fish with lovely crispy batter. Chips also cooked to order and quite definitely not frozen! Well done Sea Chef!

Great food and great customer service

Visited this chip shop in October before the drive home. Ordered 2 mini fish and chips and was disappointed. Fried oven chips and fish battered and cooked from frozen. When you cut into the batter it was full of water from the fish. Not the sort of food i would expect this close to the sea. Nothing traditional about the mini fish and chips recieved here. Should have took a picture.

Sat outside with the dogs, the meal was ordered , delivered to the table by lovely lady. Food was freshly cooked, large portions, hot. We will definitely return when next in Chapel, and will also recommend this nice fish restaurant

Super first class chips in whole of uk! ⭐ Excellent food and nice and calming atmosphere. Their potato fritters to banana fritter to hot drinks can't fault anything everything I ordered tasted heavenly! Their Table/ seatin is so spacious I can put my pushchair and little one eat it from there. I felt like wanted to give them this review because I really enjoyed the food and walked all the way from golden palm twice to eat here! 😃 Forgot to mention how friendly the owners are always with smile. hope to visit again in the future!

Stupid order and wait system don’t have food ready had to sit and wait for 30mins for chips and 2 battered sausages curry sauce, because they don’t have it ready like every other chippy in the world! After a 30minute wait the food was bang average and the curry didn’t taste like chippy curry

Popped in for a large portion of chips only.got them home and they were horrible .hard and cold.went straight in bin.answer to restaurant. i bought the chips 3 weeks ago .I dont think it matters when you buy them .are they better on a certain day of the week lol

My husband insisted on eating here twice in four days declaring these the best fish and chips ever! There are tables outside, but they allowed us to take our small dog inside while we ate.

Best fish and chips going, and the Yorkshire fishcakes are huge

Visited today (Halloween) as a party of 18 as everything closed early at our campsite nearby. The service was brilliant and the food was so hot, fresh and absolutely delicious! We even received a little treat at the end of our meal, thank you. We will definitely be back!

Never managed to taste the food. Definitely wasn’t going to use them after queuing and the gentleman in front wanted to pay by card to which he was told Cash Only and the server was rude because the gentleman didn’t have the exact cash. I walked out and left.

Lovely little place. Lady was very accommodating with my two children, offering lollipops and taking the time to have a little chat. Food was delicious, best fish we have had in a while, portions are decent and coming from London the prices are more than reasonable. 5* from us! Definitely will come back.

Good portion but hadock was not good, infact i know it was't even hadock, worst fish ived had in a long time, and i eat a lot of fish and chips.

If you like watery fish then it's the place to be, you have ask for your fish well done, apart from that, it decently priced an relatively quick service

Chips were very greasy, the fish tasted watery as if the batter hadn't been cooked throughout, they only accept cash, no cards and took 15mins to complete my order of fish chips even tho I was only person in shop.

Not bad portion size but the curry sauce isn't chippy sauce, the chips were OK but nothing to write home about. The fish and fishcakes were OK. The marina chippy across the road had a massive queue, think I know why..

What can I say but "DE-LICIOUS/DELIGHTFUL FOOD AND SERVICE (WITH A SMILE(S)". We travel some 220 miles very frequently to our caravan site and AWAYS make sure our stomachs are empty, so we can enjoy what we order from Sea Chef. Always recommend them to our guest's, who visit or stay at our caravan! Can even ring them when a few minutes away to place your order, as they are busy. Regards James.

Mini fish and chips with mushy peas on a Sunday as England slowly comes out of the COVID-19 pandemic. Ate outside. Fish size was far from ‘mini’, batter light and crunchy. Chips crispy too which was perfect. Good portion and very impressed for a fiver. Only thing making this review a 4 rather than 5 was having to search around to pay by cash. Cashpoint machine out of cash and Coop having to limit the cash back. No other option seemed to be available to pay, I’ve even done a bank transfer at other takeaways so why not here?

Run by a lovely young couple, the young lady behind the counter always makes you feel welcome. You may have to wait a little longer than usual as they normally cook food to order, so it is always fresh and crispy.

Superb meals reasonably priced, fresh and so tasty, all cooked to order. Second visit and second great meal. Well worth a visit.

Went in August was absolutely delicious went on Friday last week not so good the chips were fine the batter was so greasy and hard on the fish not nice think you need an oil change disappointed

Delicious fish and chips if you are prepared to wait as they cook everything to order! But well worth the wait in my view! Can take away or eat in But on a sunny evening there are plenty of benches on the village green opposite the chip shop!

Everything was fried to order so everything was piping hot and fresh.

The food was ok. What annoyed me was we paid for 2 trays of chips along with peas, curry sauce and 2 fish cakes. Instead of wrapping the fish cakes individually and placing them in a paper bag, they put the fish cake in the tray of chips * I say tray of chips lightly * because they put the fish cake in the tray and only put half a portion of chips in the other side of the tray. You are paying for a full tray of chips ! The fish cake should have been wrapped up separate or put on top of a FULL tray of chips.

Had to wait ages for our fish and chips. It seems everything is cooked to order. When we got it was absolutely worth the wait. Awesome! 5*
