I had haddock and chips with salt and onion vinegar. Ate it by littlestone beach. Can’t fault any of it.

Dropped in yesterday and got Cod and chips and Haddock and chips, the best fish and chips my wife and I have had in years, keep up the good work guys, highly recommended.

Nice people but food quality gone down

If you’re wanting decent fish and chips then look no further. Haddock - ordered the medium, more than enough for any one. Cod medium - again a decent size. Chips crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle, free tartare sauce too. All was delicious. Staff are nice and friendly too.

Inconsistent quality and portion size. Used to be pretty good but have been dissapointed with recent experiences. Staff are friendly and the place is nice and clean, just need to improve the quality of food. Smallest huss i've ever seen, the chip fork was bigger.

Out for a drive and we stopped here to pick up fish and chips. Cooked fresh to order the cod was delicious, all served by friendly, helpful staff. Would definitely buy again. Some parking in the high street.

Fish was nice enough. Service was impolite and frankly rude. For that reason, won't use again.

We preordered 15 meals today, we also asked to move the collection forward 1hr, nothing was too much trouble, food was DELICIOUS, hot and plentiful, they had already portioned sauces for us waiting without us having to ask. The chips were perfect!! Will definitely use again.

Not a bad chip shop. Only downside is the extortionate prices versus the average. It’s worth noting that regular cod in rod and line is £8 while the same in this one is £10. I have no idea what they base their price on.

I’ve just had the tastiest fish and chips, very fresh. I’ll definitely be back and the staff was friendly. All in all a good experience.

Never actually had a meal from here but some guys I support do and it always smells delicious, portions are huge and their cod looks fantastic. Think I may get one next time. *Edit* stopped in here on my way home from work, so glad I did, banging chips.

I'm really impressed with our first time ordering from here. We ordered over the phone to collect, the order was all freshly cooked, and the portions were great. It's one of the best fish shops we've gone to.

Superb fish and chips. Freshly cooked fish, perfect chips. Nice friendly staff and surprise two pots per person of homemade tartare sauce inside boxes. Can't fault it and they accept cards. Thank you, I'll be visiting again.

Find was nice and it would have been 5 stars if they hadn't forgotten a portion of chips leaving me hungry.

Sadly the chips were awful not great potato choice and think they had been refried in oil that wasn’t hot. Very disappointing. We’re local and use them often but not sure I will use them now. Very soft and oily

Service is very good and their staff always treat you with respect , the meal you get is always beautiful cooked and lovely and hot delish.

The fish was cooked fresh while I waited and it was a large piece too. I also had a spam fritter, my favourite and not often in the menu. Plenty of chips. It was still hot when I got home - always a bonus. The staff, young lady and young man were very pleasant and the fryer certainly knew his business. Will definitely use again.

Friendly Staff and Fish was cooked to order. Generous amount of chips and the haddock portion was a good size. Only problem was the fish was a bit on the greasy side as if the oil was not hot enough which left for a soggy coating. The actual fish was flaky, moist and tasted great

Very very expensive, cash only, and to be fair I hate moaning but the worst fish and chips we've had as a family that we can remember. To say we were disappointed was a complete under statement. On a posative note we got free crispy bits and 1 of my boys had a burger which he enjoyed. Apart from that not good.

One of the best fish and chips I have ever eaten. Make sure you bring cash, they do not accept cards, but absolutely worth it.

Admittedly, only had the chips, but they were great and a good portion for a small. Open Wednesday afternoon unlike the rest of the village!

Best fish and chips we have had for a very long time. Very large portions lovely and fresh and hot will definitely be going there from now on for our fish and chips. Highly recommended.

For 2 kids meals and 2 battered sausage £15. 1 child had fish bites, chips and a fruit shoot and 1 child had chicken nuggets, chips and fruit shoot. The reason for the 3* rating instead of 5* was because the chicken nuggets had a really weird taste. My children aren’t fussy eaters and will literally eat anything but when I tried them even I thought they had a weird taste. The batter on the sausages tasted old, must’ve been in the cabinet for a while. The chips were great though and so was the quick service.

Been back recently and enjoyed the food this time, different owners.

Whilst the food was outatanding and quality unquestionable - the miserible attitude and long faces from the new staff makes be feel that I will go without next time - waited 30 mins for my 2 yr old Grandaughters Childs meal (4x chicken nuggets and chips), so had plenty of time to observe their customer services skills..

This is my local shop, never let me down. Amazing quality of food shop is completely spotless always giving good experience to young people to learn and earn money giving good confidence. Faith the manager looking after the shop and customers very well

Fish and peri is an excellent service, they are very good to the customers, even when it is at there busiest, along with this they are very quick too which is amazing. Definitely recommend you go there.

Fish & Chips a bit on the expensive side compared to our home local Fish & Chip shop but tasty all the same.

Bought large chips which were dry, hard and warm. Not fresh. I tried here again as thought they had changed hands so gave them a chance and benefit of the doubt from previous haphazard food and service. They have only changed their name - not owners as confirmed by themselves!!!!!!!! Instead of that change they should focus on changing their oil and making fresh food that can actually be enjoyed!!! Such a shame for a high street that should be able to offer such a nice traditional take away.

I’ve never written a review before - mostly because I can’t be bothered honestly…but the management and staff here were so kind and the chips were genuinely stellar, I’m forcing myself to make sure people know!

Seems to be under new management, and whilst their prices have risen (ever so slightly), their fish and chips are the absolute best we have ever tasted. The chips are cooked beautifully and firm and do not 'stick' to each other. Absolutely beautiful taste. Will définitely go again. On road parking right outside the shop in New Romney. Downside is they are so good there is a queue, but well worth the wait. Five stars all the way. Well done !!

Always phone in to order. Up until today this has been fine, very polite staff. I don't know if they're short staffed right now but I was hung up on, twice. Whoever answered the phone was also serving, male voice, possibly foreign. No customer skills at all. Very disappointed. Be interesting to see if the order is correct, or if it is even ready. Didn't ask for a name, always have previously. Also no website and menus I could access are obviously out of date as what I tried to order they no longer serve. Very disappointing.

New people? Very poor service. I phoned to collect an order. It wasn't done and had to wait an half an hour. ......So expensive and very poor meal.

Great fish and chips. But beware the potions are huge! The fish was very tastey and the fish bites were the yummiest I’ve ever eaten. The pie was very nice and I’m guessing it was homemade. Great value and great tasting food Will be returning if we are in the area again

Used to come here often but won't be coming back anymore as things have gone downhill. Our chips were very "bitty" with lots of very small fries. I was charged £8.50 for a large cod which was definitely a small medium and I was given one spam fritter when I'm sure that you used to get two.

Clearly the new management know nothing about fish and chips, customer service and manners. Dreadful food, rude staff, cash only, after years of using Fish and Peri will NOT be returning!! Would like to give no stars

Chips are good, but recently the portion sizes have gotten smaller. A large portion of chips isnt the large it once was and curry sauce comes in a tub half the size it once did. Also they only take cash too

Ordered online order taken and confirmed went to collect and its closed!!!! Nothing on website to say its closed will not use again

Great chip shop with decent sized portions, chicken burgers are lovely 👍and after acclimatising to the irish curry sauce, its actually quite nice. Staff are also pleasant to deal with 👍

What an earth! Battered sausage in the cabinet for since they opened I asked for a fresh one to be cooked as u can see the sausage is disgusting, the chips was cold I said please will you just make a fresh one the lady was so rude from the moment we walked in. I said hello how are u she said what can I get you just rude and look at the food hardly no chips normally u get dozens from chip shops I just wouldn’t recommend sorry

Used to like there chips and pie but chips were very dry like they been there all day and just warmed up and a pie that was not cooked so I had to cook it again or food poison. Pastry was not cooked so soggy and soft and meat stone cold. Will not go again .

Used to go there often, was a warm, welcoming place with delicious chips perfect for a Friday dinner. However, I'm assuming management has changed since then or someone is slacking as now you enter and it's cold and empty, quite frankly, staff looked depressed and like they don't get living wage! They removed one of the best items ( cheesy chips ) in the menu without warning, left hungry because of it. Along with that, they don't do gravy anymore, what chip shop doesn't sell gravy? Still, I ordered from them a week or so ago and was very disappointed, couldn't finish. I found a hair in the cheeseburger and the patty was as dry as cotton and the bun was stale; my chips were soggy, too! Usually New Romney isn't bad for take-aways, but this is just a brutal let down. Would not at all recommend. 😡

I’ve always used this fish and chip shop and under previous owners it was great but went today to get fish bites and chips for my elderly mum. Had to wait quite a while which I don’t mind if it’s cooked fresh but when I arrived home they had given me chicken nuggets and not fish bites…how can you get that one so wrong. The chips were not great either and when I tried to phone to complain as not only wrong food but over charged found you can’t as no number listed! The staff didn’t wear masks and it was ‘Cash only’ so won’t be returning.

The food was fine but l felt the shop needed a freshing up inside and out and I think it will do even. Better just make a place. That will bring the punters in

Cod and chips twice - £14. All fried while I waited and was absolutely delicious. Will recommend to anyone who is hungry. Would give 10 stars if I could.

Best fish and chips ever i had in my life brilliant service clean shop good staff

Shocking customer service. We had driven down from the midlands for a 4 night break in the area. We had played a round of golf nearby and called here to confirm the closing time before going to our accommodation. We were reassured that it was 8.30pm (the current time was around 7.15pm). We booked in and returned here at 8.10-8.15pm to be told that the fryers were turned off and all they had to offer was 1 fish or a saveloy sausage. Open but please don't expect a full menu? Not a way to treat a customer! I walked out in disgust and went to The Rod & Line in Littlehampton (1/2 a mile away) who also closed at 8.30pm. What a difference in attitude. Nothing was too much and my order was cooked fresh on the spot with no quibble. What a contrast in customer service. Needless to say that during our stay in this area of Kent we did not revisit this place but we did return to The Rod & Line. If I do revisit the area (which is quite likely) rest assured I will not be back!

What a shame - Its all gone wrong - I am so disappointed ! Looks like I've had my chips at this place. They will be wrapping up the fish & chips in news-paper soon. Good Bye.

Got chips and saveloy from here last night end up with food poisoning this morning. Never going back. Chips was okay but the saveloy was tasteless and clearly not cooked properly

Wow! Im from London and I will be travelling back just for your Fish and Chips! So fresh! So delicious! My friend ordered a Chicken and Mushroom pie with chips and really enjoyed the freshness of food. Although I live far, I will be visiting Fish and Peri Every time I'm in the area!. The quality of food was top notch and the customer service was lovely, friendly and welcoming. The man that served us was very funny!. Keep up the delicious work! Rooting for you!

We've been coming here for many years and this is the third time now where the standard has dropped so we can only assume that it's changed hands. The only difference between a standard cod and a large cod, is the box it's put in. Sadly its gone from being the best chips we've ever had from a chippy, to the worst. They must be using a frozen, processed chip and not real spuds. Most of the chips were an empty shell, albeit a very hard, crispy shell, which, had it been full of potato, may have been tasty, but I somehow doubt it. Sorry Fish n Peri, you need to go back to how things used to be done. We're off to find another chippy.

This used to be the best in Romney, now under new management and it’s pretty awful. Usually the smell of fish and chips draws you in now the smell puts you off. My advice go elsewhere plenty of good chippies around.

Had the most fantastic fish and chips tonight. Not my normal fish and chip shop but so pleased I tried this place. The batter on our cod was golden and crispy and inside the fish was soft and tasty. The chips were great and couldn’t stop eating them even after I was full. So impressed with the quality of our food tonight even on a busy Friday. The staff were friendly. I will definitely be visiting here again very soon.

Fish & Peri is not my local fish n chip shop but I am very happy to drive the distance for my supper. In my humble opinion they are the best in the area. Not just for the quality of their food but their lovely friendly staff.

Awful must of changed hands , quality of food was dreadful. Curry sauce - never tasted anything like it mushy peas also , large cod was no bigger than a regular & in bits. Savloys I wouldn’t give to my dog , chips were ok tho. Been going to Fish &Peri for year’s but never again Sorry.

awful used to be so nice ,the chips were dry and tasteless the fish was over cooked and the pie was off! as we cut into it it smelt dreadful like sick! needless to say we won't be returning.

Best chicken nuggets ever! The only ones I will eat and kids love them- chips are cooked just right. Jude and the poor guy that get lumbered with the mountain of nuggets that we are for are amazing and always smiling too x Good staff good food and value for money! Can't go wrong x

Great fish and chips, nicely present with a slice of lemon,tartar sauce dip all in a recyclable box.

We ordered a large variety of meals and walked back home in the not so summer weather! This was not to the detriment of the food which was still piping hot when served. All meals were truly plentiful and each family member remarked at how delicious, fresh and tasty the chips were! Chunky and fluffy inside. What made us even opt for this take away was the yummy smell which we were met with whilst walking along the high street. A good choice and one that will be repeated in the not too distant future! Finally a chip shop that is worth buying from!!

Best Fish and Ships place in all of Kent, prices are really low and hygiene is very good. Even if you are not a fan of fish (shame on you already), but you will find other dishes here like sausages or hamburgers. This restaurant is truly incredible and I recommend it to everyone.

I ordered Fish & chips with a sausage and gherkin this was cooked to order so I waited a little longer than I expected from a chip shop, plus they had phone in orders and delivery companies orders also to complete. The food was very tasty and cooked to perfection, with crispy golden batter and light fluffy Cod on the inside. thank you

Such a shame but what happened on Sunday Evening at 18:30, confused me somewhat!! I went in to place an order and the server told me that she couldn't take my order because they had run out of Batter Mix. Shocked at this I asked for Two unbattered Sausage and a large portion of chips, following a discussion between the staff the cook said that they could take the order. When I went to pay for the order I was told they only accepted cash, Unfortunately like most people I never carry money and use card transactions for all purchases. The Cook again intervened and told me "don't worry about it" and actually let me have them free of charge, which personally I thank him for, Infact a great response to a delicate issue I have to say though, that I have had great food and service at Fish & Piri in the past and I am happy to continue using them in the future, but please guys get your act together and don't argue in front of your customers.
