We had Afternoon Tea here this afternoon. We have had quite a few afternoon teas and this one was by far the best of them all. We were made welcome as soon as we arrived even though we were early and were shown to our table after only a short wait. The choice of teas and coffees is very good and the food superb. The atmosphere is very relaxed and we didn't feel hurried at all. Thank you to all the staff for a lovely afternoon.

Went here for a group afternoon tea. The food was excellent and, as we couldn't finish all the cakes, our server kindly provided plastic boxes to bring them home.

Lovely venue overlooking mature gardens. I took a friend for lunch as a birthday treat, thinking that being Marco Pierre White that the food would be something special. Sadly I was mistaken. Whilst the starters were fine, the main meals were nothing special at all. My friend chose Chicken Milanese which consisted of one chicken breast halved, flattened and coated with crumb, topped with half a pack of rocket and a few cherry tomatoes - she kept apologising for choosing her dish as she knew it was costing me £20.95. I had Wheelers Fish & Chips. I do not know what the fish was, it was small and very thin with lots of batter which was not very crisp, frankly I have had far better at Wetherspoons! In a rush to retrieve my car before the parking ran out, I asked for the bill and quickly paid. When I got home I was shocked to see that I had been charged £8.45 "Discretionary" service charge. There was no discretion, I was not asked if I wanted to pay this. In conclusion, the food is very average and expensive for what you get. I don't mind paying for quality and something special, but this was not it. Needless to say, I will not be going back.

Very nice ,staff are very welcoming and professional, very clean and tidy, we only popped in for a few drinks before our due at the leas cliff Hall, we will be popping back at some point for food, I have eaten here once before had a steak which was absolutely delicious, we have been saying about eating here again for some time but can never seem to get back, there's always other places for me to go and try 1st time , but I would highly recommend as my 1st experience was amazing

Popped in here having seen them had a selection of gluten free options. While it was a quiet Thursday early evening and I was alone I was made to feel very welcome. The food is lovely, can confirm the fries are gluten free and suitable for coeliacs. Steak was nice, as was the pepper sauce also gluten free. Nice selection of drinks though no ciders but it strikes me as a little more up market for that. All in all lovely place for dinner either alone or with others. Image is 10oz Ribeye, usually comes with vine tomatoes but I had without as I don't like them and it would be a waste. Total bill £58 with a double spiced rum and coke. Worth it.

Was a special birthday meal. Unfortunately a 4/5 year old child was jumping up and down and screaming at the top of his voice, parents not interested. Food was very good, paid for expensive bottle of wine to go with the chateaubriand, but whole evening spoilt by the child.

Excellent vegan menu choices with real vegetables! Hard to get at most venues. Staff were very pleasant too.

Very nice restaurant and very friendly service. The dog was also welcome in the bar and we were allowed to eat there. Unfortunately the food wasn't that good. The meat was tough and the burger was tasteless. There were ready-made sauces on top of the nachos, or at least it tasted that way. It was edible, but we were hoping for a little more for our last evening of vacation and the money.

Very helpful and friendly staff. The fish and chips were like my local chippie restaurant, nothing more. The restaurant is chic but there wasn’t much ambiance. However everything is cooked fresh !

Fabulous food and very good service. Food came out quickly and was very tasty. The dauphinoise potatoes weren't as nice as our main as they were a tad undercooked and didn't have as much flavour. But the steaks were cooked to perfection, packed full of flavour and just wonderful. It was a bit on the expensive and is borderline on was it worth the money. As a nice treat, it was very good.

Looks unassuming but this was the best Eton mess I've had in my life and I've had a lot of Eton mess in my 28 years. The lamb and sourdough bread were great too but that Eton mess. Brb going back to Folkestone to get some more.

Sunday roast was good especially beef was cooked perfectly, good cut and high quality, I like sneaky Yorkshire pudding with pig in blanket inside. Lots of side vegetables. We had afternoon tea as well which was delicious. Freshly baked scone is worth to try. Sandwiches were tasty.

Visiting with friends before going on to a show at the Lees, we all decided to have the MPW American Burger. We were all underwhelmed by the burger. I think a Burger King burger would have been considerably better for a quarter of the price. I also feel that the staff in a supposedly top rated restaurant should understand the principles that ladies are served first. Perhaps that is an old fashioned thought, but that's me. Like many celebrity chef's restaurants, this one doesn't live up to it's reputation for me.

The dinning experience just amazed me from start to finish! First we had 2 of their house cocktails which were really good. The starter we ordered were the mushroom tart and beetroot with feta cheese salad and both were excellent! We tried the roast chicken and smoked salmon with a bunch of sides and each and every dish was beautifully presented and served. The service was very attentive as the manager and server kept checking on us. Kudos to the manager for letting us meet the chef who prepared our dinner. It was really an exceptional dinner.

Impromptu Afternoon Tea - Midweek My son took me here for a belated Mother's Day treat, as I had just had surgery on actual Mother's Day this year, and was unable to go out. I called ahead, and they checked if they could do an afternoon tea for two, and they could. So we headed over to Folkestone. Greeted by Ahmed, he seated us and brought us (seemingly endless) tea, which refills were continually offered. Sandwiches were super fresh and soft bread, and they were able to cater well for one vegetarian option too. The scones were warm and fresh and super-soft inside - one of the best scones I have had, and according to my son "the best scone" he's ever had. We didnt have room for the cakes, so a lovely food box was provided and Ahmed transferred the cakes for us to take home and enjoy later. Thank you Ahmed and the chefs for a lovely meal. I have been before, and I will be back again.

Took my mother for afternoon tea to celebrate her 88th birthday. We could not fault the food or service lovely selection of sandwiches and cakes. We were offered refills of tea, the staff were exceptionally attentive and even presented Mum with a happy birthday plate with a cake and candle. Would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant

Went for lunch with my husband as it was his birthday today, the food was amazing cooked to perfection, the service was brilliant from start to finish. Lovely decor and lovely atmosphere in the restaurant.

We recently had the pleasure of dining at Marco Pierre White's restaurant in Folkestone for their famous Sunday roast dinner. I have to say, we was thoroughly impressed. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service was impeccable. As for the food, it was simply outstanding. The roast beef was cooked to perfection, with a beautiful pink center and a crispy exterior. The vegetables were fresh and flavorful, and the Yorkshire pudding was light and fluffy. To top it all off, the gravy was rich and savory. Overall, I highly recommend trying the Sunday roast dinner at Marco Pierre White's restaurant in Folkestone. It truly was a memorable dining experience.

We went with friends. We had been there a few times before, our friends had not. We were remembered and greeted warmly by the manager. Our waiter was attentive and friendly. The manager came over and spent some time with us. He was very friendly to wards our friends and they were impressed. The seats ere comfortable and plenty of space tables. The food was superb. In short we all had a wonderful experience

It was our first time dining here and we’re very glad we came in. Food was delicious, we chose to have roast dinner and we didn’t regret it at all. Staff were amazing and provided a great service. Will definitely recommend it to everyone.

This restaurant has become a firm favourite with family and friends. The whole team are always very welcoming and nothing seems too much trouble. The menu has a wide range of options, all beautifully cooked and presented. During the warmer months, coffee on the patio is recommended with views of sea, and the private gardens.

The food was below par. Unseasoned fillet steak, unseasoned onion rings. My husband's burger was absolutely shocking for £20. It tasted like it was from a wholesaler. And my friends battered cod was soggy and the sides she'd asked not to be on the plate, were there. The pudding was nice but it was chocolate mouse so nothing fancy. The service was ok, but pretentious. The servers hovered round and one of ours really smelled of body odour which was off putting. The decor in the hotel was revolting. Patterned wallpaper with a completely different patterned carpet looked like a drunk had chosen it. It was so tacky. The lighting was awful, two bulbs were out in the restaurant and at random intervals the lights would flash which, again, was off putting. Honestly for the price it was shockingly bad. DONT GO! There's a much better restaurant called the Rosemont down the road, just saying. Wish we'd never been.

We went to a birthday meal here. As vegetarians, we were a bit scared! As a family, we've never been more looked after. The manager lent us table decorations, birthday candles, highlighted the GF options on the menu - the kindness of staff was really overwhelming! And the vegan curry was delicious! My aunty had the best birthday and we will always be grateful to the team for helping us to make great memories!

Very disappointed in the quality of the meat tonight. Lamb was hard to eat with gristle, one of our favourite restaurants but with Folkestone now flooded with great places to eat feel overcharged for a low standard meal. Service was its normal high standard.

A lovely seaside location, great if you love steaks but also does a few other British classics as well! Enjoyed the Prawn Cocktail to start with, served with buttered bread cut in triangles and served untoasted. My companion really liked the beetroot salad (mildly sweet and super healthy).. as for mains chose the fillet steak and chips, which was just cooked right!.. Certainly recommend this as a great place to enjoy a lunch or dinner! Recommended.

We were staying at the hotel where this restaurant is located so we decided to give it a try. The restaurant is clean and fresh with a lovely decor We ordered lamb and sirloin steak both came out cooked to perfection Our waiter was astute and helpful to the point he arranged for a sauce to accompany my steak that wasn’t on the menu. Will definitely be returning . Amazing place

The best Sunday Lunch I've had for ages. Perfect medium rare thin slices of beef, loads of lovely gravy and the beautifully cooked vegetables. Great chocolate mousse too...

My wife, my son (he's 4) and I had the afternoon tea for two and it was beautiful. The sandwiches were great, the cakes were better but the scones were amazing. Warm, fluffy and (which ever way you put your jam and cream on) melt in the mouth. The tea was steeped just right and tasted great. We are already planning to go back and by the looks of the Sunday roast menu, will be for that. The waiting staff were very professional and friendly (especially to our son). The price was good and the food better. Not much else to say apart from if you are reading this, get yourself down there and try it. You won't be disappointed. 10/10

The menu was ok. The service was good. The food was poor. The cease salad was very acidic. The fish cake was tasteless. You must go for steak only. Then you will have a nice experience.

Our first visit but will definitely go back when in the area. The food was 1st class with plenty of gluten and dairy free options with dishes that could be adjusted to my requirements. My fellow diners loved the sourdough bread and I really appreciated the oil and balsamic provided for my GF bread. The starters were lovely; two of us had the roast chicken which was delicious; the fillet steak was described as the best she’s had and the fish cake was quickly demolished. We didn’t have dessert. But what really made the evening was the staff. Eating out when gluten and dairy free can often be a dismal experience. However this was delightful from the start. Nothing was too much trouble and they happily adjusted dishes so I could enjoy a wider choice. Service was friendly and efficient without being obtrusive. They made me feel like a special and valued guest and not a nuisance.

We went for a family meal here and we're really impressed. Beautifully presented restaurant and food. Staff were attentive and professional and we had a lovely view of the grounds whilst we were dining. The food was top quality. If you go straight to reception they will provide you with a parking permit at reduced rate which is great given the parking outside is limited to 3 hours. This restaurant is an hour away from home for us but definitely worth the trip. Only comment would be that it was quiet, meaning we were the only guests during lunch. Possibly due to the building having a refurb and the signage is not clear, so perhaps people don't know the restaurant is inside this hotel? Anyhow, we will definitely be returning!

I was so disappointed Monday evening. I have had a tuna sandwich which I have had a couple of times before. It was so poor. The filling you could barely taste. It was just like a thin paste in the middle of the sandwich with about 10mm of just buttered bread the whole outside. For the price I was totally shocked. Terrible

Nice location, attentive staff. We had steaks, which were fine, the sides were all a little cooler than I would expect, Mac and Cheese could have done with some time under the grill. Not quite up to the standard that I would expect with MPW's name on the door.

Visited on a Saturday night service was fine, only a small percentage of the tables taken when we visited and by 9.30 we were the only table. The food was very average I think it's been left behind by other local restaurants. One of our steaks was very poor quality but this was quickly removed from the bill.

Today I was one of a large group ( 19) for Afternoon today at Marco Pierre Whites in Folkestone. It was absolutely amazing. The restaurant ticks every box from the lovely laid tables, quantity & quality of food, presentation and last but by no means least the very attentive manager and staff who all went above and beyond to make it a very memorable experience for us all. Thank you for making our group anniversary Afternoon Tea a very special one. Highly recommended!

Lovely Sunday lunch staff amazing..

Well.......we had a delightful time celebrating Robbies 89th Birthday. The staff were charming and the service was good. However, I think it's been a while since dear Marco has been there in person, shall we say. However we had a lovely afternoon and the price was reasonable. The white zinfandel went down a treat and the Clifton Hotel v kindly did a little Birthday cake celebration, which was v sweet of them, considering it was an extra, gratis.

I was refused service by David when I turned up with the excuse being “we’re fully booked”. I went on to call the restaurant shortly after being turned away only to be told over the phone that there were tables available for dinner. Food and service was good though, the waiters were very nice. Not too keen on David turning me away though, maybe he has a problem with people who look like me, he should learn from the rest of the team, he couldn’t even come and apologise.

MEAL WAS GOOD AND AMAZING STAFF.
